Lance, Champion of the Indigo League, has a rather busy schedule. When he isn't accepting Elite Four challengers at the Indigo Plataeu, you've heard stories of him participating in Unova's Pokemon World Tournament, Galar's Masters Eight Tournament, and Pasio's Pokemon Masters League, at the very least. That's why it was such a surprise when he announced that he would spend a month training in the Dragon's Den of his hometown to reconnect with his roots. No way were you going to pass up a chance to see the Dragon Master battle with his Salamence, Garchomp, or Hydreigon, let alone his three famed Dragonite!

Only...when you got there, that wasn't what you saw. He had his three Dragonite, sure, but there wasn't another Dragon-type to be found. His Dondozo wasn't being piloted by a Tatsugiri, his Charizard was holding a Charizardite Y, and why on earth did he have a Scrafty? You went to ask him about it when he eventually took a break, and he threw back his head and laughed.

"Don't you know that not all dragons are Dragon-type? When I was first starting my journey, the only Dragon-types anyone in my family had heard of were the Dratini line! I trained three of them to have specialized roles on my team, but I'd never have gotten anywhere without using non-Dragon-type dragons as well. Then my cousin Clair discovered that Seadra could evolve into Kingdra, and I traveled the world and found many Dragon-types from other regions, but I've never forgotten where I came from. This month, the only Dragon-types I'm training are the Dragonite who've been with me all this time.

"That said, would you like to battle? Some of these dragons are new to me, and I'm still learning their strengths. You're not the only one who's here to meet me, why don't you get to know the others and team up with one of them? One trick I picked up from my family is how to train Dratini and Dragonair so they evolve much earlier than they normally would, and if the two of you can beat me working together, I'll gift each of you an underleveled Dragonite!"
  • Lance's three Dragonite have specialized: one from repeated usage of Blizzard, another from Thunder, and the last from Fire Blast. Their standard secondary type of Flying is replaced with Ice, Electric, and Fire respectively, and each has a definitely-canon ability to change attacks into that type.
    • DAT Abilities – Ignite said:
The Pokemon has a naturally high body temperature, and can infuse their attacks with searing heat.

When the user performs a Normal-type move: The move becomes Fire-type, and if it does and it has a BAP, give it a power bonus of two (2).
  • Camouflage turns the user into a Dragon type
  • Secret Power may cause flinching
  • Nature Power becomes Dragon Pulse

Hi. I'll try to get to this today or tomorrow. I've been struggling to catch up with BBP stuff of late and you're of course welcome to look for a sub if you'd like.

You know that feeling where you're sure there's something wrong with your orders but you've put this off for ten times too long already?
...Why? No reason.

:ss/aerodactyl-mega: :aerodactylite:
Rock Blast (Gardevoir) ~ Rock Blast (Gardevoir).

If Gardevoir is under the effect of Protection, use Rock Blast (Zapdos) if step 1, and use Roost if step 2.
If an opponent is to use a priority attack targeting Aerodactyl, use Super Potion (Aerodactyl).
[KO Sub] If Zapdos is KOed, use Roost the first instance and Light Screen subsequent instances.
If an opponent is under the effect of Evasive, use Pursuit (that opponent).
[start of turn] If able, use Rock Slide.

:ss/dragonite: :weakness policy: (Shocking)
Iron Head (Gardevoir) ~ Iron Head (Gardevoir)

[step 2] If Gardevoir is faster than Dragonite, and Dragonite's HP is between 75 and 94, and Team Lance is not under the effect of Heal Block, use Roost.
If Zapdos is KOed, and Gardevoir is to use a Fairy-type attack targeting Dragonite, use Fly (Gardevoir).
[KO Sub] If Zapdos is KOed, use Iron Tail (Gardevoir).
If Zapdos is not under the effect of Protection, not under the effect of Evasive, and Psychic Terrain is not in effect, use Extreme Speed (Zapdos) and push back.
If Gardevoir is under the effect of Protection, use Dragon Dance the first instance.

"I see an opportunity to eliminate some of our opponent's resources."

Zapdos: Zap Cannon + Swift combo - Thunder (Aerodactyl)

The Chronicle - Round 2
Step 1
Lance used the Super Potion! +40 HP Aerodactyl (57)
Dragonite got a Multiscale marker!

(Dragonite's 4th sub checks state clauses without a specified timing, so it triggers at start of turn (when Dragonite currently has an order to use Iron Head), so Extreme Speed would be time travel and is illegal. Oops.)

Gardevoir used Vacuum Wave!
-6 EN
Crit: No (428)
[Aerodactyl] (4 + 12 - 7) = 9 DMG

Zapdos used Static Starstorm!
-28 EN, -1 CT
Crit: No (463, 405)
It's super effective on Aerodactyl!
It's barely effective on Dragonite...

[Aerodactyl] (12 + 3 + 10 - 7 - 1)*1.5*2/3 = 17 DMG
[Dragonite] (12 + 3 + 10 - 7)*0.5*2/3*0.5 = 3 DMG
Aerodactyl is paralyzed...

Dragonite used Iron Head!
-6 EN
Crit: No (550)
It's super effective!

[Gardevoir] (10 + 8 - 5)*1.5 = 19.5 ~ 20 DMG
Step 2
Gardevoir used Draining Kiss!
-9 EN
Crit: No (477)

(12 + 3 + 5 - 7) = 13 DMG
Gardevoir healed 7 HP...

Zapdos used Thunder!
-10 EN
Crit: No (339)
It's super effective!
[Aerodactyl] (11 + 3 + 10 - 7 - 1)*1.5 = 24 DMG
Aerodactyl fainted...

Dragonite used Roost!
-12 EN
Dragonite took roost! [+20 ~ 3 HP]

Keriel it appears that you've computed Vacuum Wave as a Physical attack, when it is a Special attack. As a consequence, Aerodactyl should have six less HP.

"Yes; let's change the tempo of this battle."

Switching to Toedscruel @ Shell Bell; counterswitch?
