SS Ubers: crying vs Malekith - dunno what crying's support structure was for slam and how much the lack of that will affect, but crying's builds were solid and worked. malekith meanwhile is back for seemingly a second annual ubers outing, this time with floss and Smart Kid. i can't say i know too much about what floss and Smart Kid bring in terms of support. floss' teams vs fc in open don't suggest much, and idk Smart Kid's prowess in the sword and shield ubers tier. favoring in form crying vs returning malekith

SS Ubers: SiTuM vs Fogbound Lake - situm had hot form 1-2 months ago and now has good support to prevent him from bringing awful teams. that won't mean he'll bring standard shit for 9 weeks tho, i think his creative juices will flow and with tape+ice support sometimes they'll result in something worth bringing. fog is a decent player but hasn't had breakout performances afaik and this is a big stage. xavgb's support can be great i think, and idk if scooma is a default tag-along here. i think fog will overperform on his expectations, but not in week 1

SS Ubers: Fc vs Lunala - fc and lunala know each others building and playing tendencies a bit well i think, and lunala also knows the same for one of fc's support - tj. but how much difference does it make when you know sub rest howl protect zamazenta (nicknamed "better than caly") is coming. you can only prep for it so much. i think we'll not see too dissimilar teams, and it'll come down to who uses their breaker quickly and effectively, and for this week i'll favor fc cos he's talented in that department (aka making bad plays and getting rewarded by luck)

SS Ubers: SoulWind vs johnnyg2 - soulwind may seem another one who's back for the second annual ubers outing, but you have more confidence in him. his team choices are sound and his playing ability is good. his support is very interesting tho: idk much about welli0u+ss ubers, but kate usually doesn't think or build with the regular norms in mind. i teamed with her once in agpl and there she had ppl on similar wavelength so that was great but idk how she'll work with soulwind, who might acknowledge block yveltal's genius but might not be interested in the body slam variant. still, she seemingly supported steelskitty in the recently concluded homefield and that came with some success. no idea about johnnyg2's ss ubers experience, and while tony+leru support is not bad when active, i favor soulwind here

SS Ubers: Exiline vs Aberforth - ribbon winner and the person who'll be the first to have sex with himself when we get the technology vs. double seasonal winner and the only force keeping fc's narcissism in check by outlucking him. i half think that exiline will once again start terribly while sucking himself off -> get slapped by dave -> finally start performing, but i also half think that his team choices are generally solid and he should know the cheese that aberforth sometimes employs. i believe in him to read aberforth's plays well enough, and if aberforth doesn't get an early advantage either through aggro plays or luck, i think he usually doesn't end up performing well

SS Ubers: crying vs Malekith - Malekith has no real support but in SS Ubers that's almost a trump because complacency and complaisancy in the builder is typically rewarded. I think he's a bit better anyway.
SS Ubers: SiTuM vs Fogbound Lake - The two most creative (relatively synonymous with "crackhead") builders in the pool playing week 1. Both of these guys are not afraid to use fringe mons in casual games. SiTuM will ratio me if I predict his loss.
SS Ubers: Fc vs Lunala - Nothing really interesting here, I expect boring vs. boring and for it to be about even.
SS Ubers: SoulWind vs johnnyg2 - SoulWind slot
SS Ubers: Exiline vs Aberforth - I think Exiline is the better builder and Aberforth is the more consistent player. Exiline will try not to get 6-0'd week 1 again.

SS Ubers: crying vs Malekith - Experience in bigger teamtours.
SS Ubers: SiTuM vs Fogbound Lake - I think Fogbounds way of building and playing is really underrated. He just needs to stop choking in the crucial moments.
SS Ubers: Fc vs Lunala - Thats your highlight match.
SS Ubers: SoulWind vs johnnyg2 - johnnyg2 has a really tough pill to swallow here. As we all know the first game usually decides the momentum of the following weeks but they might be able to become some kind of godly hero.
SS Ubers: Exiline vs Aberforth - SSNL winner for a reason, but never ever underrate Exiline. His unpredictable way of playing this game is what I hate the most in Ubers.

SS Ubers: crying vs Malekith - Won ubers open is more experienced in the tier and uses very solid teams that I liked
SS Ubers: SiTuM vs Fogbound Lake - Situm has been very good recently, but so has Fogbound who is very underrated imo winning ult this year close match
SS Ubers: Fc vs Lunala - Another close game, giving the edge to fc who i think will be more motivated being a retain
SS Ubers: SoulWind vs johnnyg2 - I think soulwind is one of the best in the ubers pool and will for sure end up going positive especially with pretty good support

Aberforth vs SiTuM - so after blind webs failed, situm will finally step into his lab and build something that can be played at varied paces instead of just throwing attacks at what's in front of you. aberforth's game vs exiline was basically 2 mirrors fighting each other and it the end it was just a speed tie, so there's not too much to berate there. situm had nice prep and win vs aberforth in upl i expect him to not lose his way and make a comeback

johnnyg2 vs crying - the game where we'll see both sides bring sturdier cm ogre checks. or maybe just zekroms i guess. crying's game wasn't much of a game, and johnny's match was a bit weird idk how to feel about it. crying's slight edge for me lies in having played ss ubers in high stakes way more than johnny

Lunala vs SoulWind - so lunala lost to hooh week 1, and knows that eventually another hooh will be brought with the hopes of replicating that result. soulwind may or may not bring hooh but i think he has better capability to play an even or even slightly worse matchup. lunala's trump card here lies in prep and executing it in a way that hoodwinks soulwind (which lunala is very much capable of). still edge to soulwind cos getting that matchup right is not an easy task

Fogbound Lake vs Fc - i got fog's first game wrong so badly. he outmanoeuvred in the early game like a champ and was very precise with what mons to keep and when which mon must be sent out. very impressive. fc had a nice win with a brutal hooh vs rocks that can't go up and he made no foolish moves to let anything else take the initiative. i think both of them can be tricky with prep, so unless some magic matchup happens, i'll root for an upset this time

Malekith vs Exiline - the sexiline improves on last year's opening by winning a speed tie this year and thus starting 1-0 while malekith sat out after his team had won the week and let some smart kid click cm with ogre. both of them brought the same 6 too, so can they get in each other's heads and outprep the outprep? edge to exi for being more comfortable and experienced in playing the tier while i still don't know how well the kith has grasped ths tier

SS Ubers: johnnyg2 vs crying - Unfortunate loss for crying last week but I expect her to pull through in this one.
SS Ubers: Lunala vs SoulWind - SoulWind keeps delivering results.
SS Ubers: Fogbound Lake vs Fc - Both players started their journey with an impressive win and now have to face each other. As I already expected Fogbound succeeded to take his first win in style but now he has a bigger hurdle to overcome. Maybe he can do it but I gotta give the edge to FC in this one.

SS Ubers: crying vs Lunala: crying is a good up coming player and happy to see anyone succeed but I think lunala is seasoned and will beat them in prep.
SS Ubers: TJ vs Aberforth: Aberforth got this. Tj is a great player but against Aberforth in ubers I’ll take Aberforth 65% of the time.
SS Ubers: SoulWind vs Fogbound Lake: having SW take this one.
SS Ubers: Exiline vs SiTuM: Exiline ego is through the roof. Being 2-0 in a good win on w2 is great for self-confidence. situm had another week of disappointment and probably is shook now and honestly he needs to win this one to turn the season around.
SS Ubers: Edgar vs Tony: I know tony plays ubers but i think edgar will be motivated to win this after a rough lose w2.

Matchups / Predictions Format:
SS Ubers: crying vs Lunala - crying either plays phenomenally or strangely in every Ubers game. Lunala is more consistent (playing and building) but a little more off the wall in playing ability. I can't decide.
SS Ubers: TJ vs Aberforth - I was very impressed with Aberforth's creativity with Toxic + Stealth Rock (+ Protect) Don to act as a lure for Yveltal and ease the prediction nature into offensive matchups, where he happened to face a Darm. TJ is an equal in terms of playing.
SS Ubers: SoulWind vs Fogbound Lake - Cringe Dracovish users battle for the crown. Fogbound is a slightly better builder here.
SS Ubers: Exiline vs SiTuM - Last week, SiTuM brought a disrespectful team which is nothing close to SCL-level innovation. Exiline continues to put on a convincing show.
SS Ubers: Edgar vs Tony - I think Tony will innovate too hard and pull a SiTuM (I expect edgar to load something unexpected).
