Hello, as some of you may have noticed, the activity in the RU forum is dying down a little bit (although it has been picking up since the end of July, thank god for tier shifts). I do feel partially responsible for this, as I don't think we have been as good as some other tiers have been at rewarding hard work. As you may have noticed, Lord Death Man has received pre-contributors, this is due to his quality posting and overall good forum presence in RU. Molk and I (and maybe Spirit can help too) will be on the look out for more people that are deserving of Precontributors or Community Contributors for their posting, hosting of projects, and / or good IRC presence. There are several of you that are very close, and we would just like to see you keep up / increase your good work, we are paying attention and we do appreciate quality posting.
RU's IRC channel is the last one of the tier channels that has maintained some presence, at its peak RU was the most active channel on IRC, beating out #Pokemontrades and #pokemon (by a lot), but now I'd guess its somewhere around 15th. IRC is a really good tool to get to know some of the people in the RU community that rarely venture into the RU room, every single council member (maybe barring 49, and even he manages to get on sometimes) is active on IRC, and it can be a good tool if you have questions about the tier, or smogon in general. And for the most part no one bites (except spirit D:). You probably won't be getting CC or Pre-C just for talking on IRC alone, but being a good presence on IRC can expedite the process (I literally got pre-contributor after writing 1 analysis w/ 2 in progress because I was IRC active), and its fun! (sometimes). Its most often active in the evenings-night for US central and eastern times, but there is usually someone on willing to talk.
