Welcome to Round 27 of Rating Practice Teams!

If you're an aspiring rater, then these will hopefully allow you to pick up on and address any problems with your rating, provide you with experience rating teams that have been specifically made to be as tough to rate as possible, and make you think creatively in order to find the best changes for the team. Any rates we receive will be replied to with personalized feedback by one of Electrolyte, Plus, Remedy, ShootingStarmie, or Nova. At the end of the round, we'll give some general hints and feedback on how things went, and post the best rate that we received as an example of how to rate the team.

Anyone is welcome to participate and send in their rate, and everyone will be guaranteed to receive feedback appropriate to the effort they put into their rate, regardless of their ability. However, to keep things fair, we won't be considering rates sent in by official Team Raters as winners of the best rate.

If you would like to participate in this round, PM your rate to Remedy no later than Sunday, June 22. Do NOT post rates in this thread.

This is a Hyper Offensive team created with the purpose of continuously slamming the opponent with powerful attacks until they relent. It features many of the tier's most powerful threats, and relies on prediction and type advantages to cover up defensively.

Charizard @ Charizardite Y
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Fire Blast
- Focus Blast
- Solar Beam
- Roost

Mega Charizard Y is present to provide the team with not only weather control to pseudo-check Rain and Sun but also to provide wallbreaking power. Very few things can sponge multiple attacks, making Charizard Y very useful when facing defensive teams. Dragon Pulse is not needed because the team has no trouble with Dragon-types; Roost was chosen for longevity.

Latios (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Hidden Power [Fighting]
- Defog

Latios is here to provide Speed, special resistances, and Defog, which is necessary to help keep Charizard and Thundurus from being worn down too quickly. It is also a lure for Bisharp and Tyranitar, KOing them with Hidden Power Fighting. Draco Meteor and Psyshock are givens, not only to hit very powerfully very quickly but also to check Mega Venusaur and clean up for the team.

Bisharp @ Black Glasses
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 HP
Adamant Nature
- Knock Off
- Sucker Punch
- Iron Head
- Pursuit

Bisharp is a crucial answer for the Latis, which wall Mega Charizard Y. Defiant + Pursuit makes taking them down very quick and easy. Bisharp also provides powerful priority, which is important to check set up sweepers. Iron Head also hits Fairy-types such as Clefable.

Keldeo @ Choice Specs
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hydro Pump
- Secret Sword
- Icy Wind
- Scald

Keldeo is the second special wallbreaker and has really good offensive synergy with Charizard-Y; together they can hit just about everything super effectively. Keldeo is also nice because it can hit opponent's physical defense with Secret Sword. Latios already checks Mega Venusaur, and Specs Icy Wind is really useful for slowing opponents down for the rest of the team.

Thundurus (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef
Timid Nature
IVs: 2 Atk / 30 Def
- Thunder Wave
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Volt Switch

Thundurus checks flying spam and provides additional Electric-type coverage for the wallbreakers. Its priority Thunder Wave works hand in hand with Bisharp to check set up sweepers and faster threats. It has Volt Switch in the last slot to pivot with Landorus-T and maintain momentum, which is necessary on a fast paced team like this one.

Landorus-Therian (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 4 Spd / 252 HP / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Stealth Rock
- U-turn

Landorus-T is the bulky pivot of this team. It checks physical attackers and also sets Stealth Rock, an important asset that Hyper Offensive teams need. With a slow U-Turn, it can pivot with Thundurus to help keep up offensive advantage, and bring in other teammates safely. EdgeQuake physical coverage helps break through typical special walls, especially Blissey, Heatran, and Aegislash.

Keep in mind that this is a Hyper Offensive team, so emphasis should be put on maintaining offensive coverage as opposed to defensive synergy (though both are important.)

Good luck, and have fun guys!

Yo.
This round lasted a long time due to the very low amount of rates we collected. Sadly, it also means that I'm pausing this activity, at least for the duration of the Smogon World Cup.
About this round, you probably noticed the similarity between the pratice rate and Valentine's RMT. So I don't have much to say unless to want me to repeat what already has been said elsewhere ! I encourage all the participants to check the RMT if they're looking for leads on how they should have been rating.

Nog is the winner of this round, his choice of putting Hippowdon over Landorus, and Aegislash over Bisharp definitely make the team bulkier and more resilient to its main threats (mainly physical attackers faster than CharY, especially bird spam). However, a rater should always respect the nature of the team, and Nog shifted the team by balancing it with a "defensive core". Anyway, he's been the only one proposing a member replacement, and making all the other changes to support it !

See you ppl.
