Rate of the Month
RotM is a project that looks to bring quality individual rates into the spotlight and recognise the hard work of unbadged raters.
  • Every month, official Team Raters will be monitor the rates posted in their respective tiers.
  • A few will be chosen that the RMT staff feel exemplify the qualities of an excellent rate.
  • These rates will be posted in this thread, along with a paragraph explaining why the particular rate won. This will allow aspiring raters to gain an idea of what constitutes high-quality rates, and hopefully incorporate those aspects into their own rates.
  • Official Team Raters are eligible to win, but unbadged raters will have priority.
Winners will earn a place in the Hall of Fame, which will be kept in the OP of every thread, and will earn more consideration for the Ladybug
and Team Rater
badges. Also, after gaining three places in the Hall of Fame, a rater will be eligible to earn voice status in the RMT room on PS! on the condition that they've shown an interest in getting involved.

We hope that this project will encourage people to put more effort into their rates and become better and more experienced raters, consequently increasing the quality of rates posted in the forum. Good luck to you all!

Congrats to patlop2307 and MFJr King for winning the RofM for June! They've made high quality rates with great changes and suggestions.

patlop starts off his rate by mentioning the team's weaknesses like Zygarde since nothing takes on well Thousand Arrows, Magnezone which is able to trap both Celesteela and Ferrothorn, and Hawlucha, a dangerous sweeper that can sweep the team after setting up a Swords Dance. His two major changes in replacing Ferrothorn with Clefable and Latios with Landorus-T definitely solve these issues. Not only does clefable provide a consistent check to Hawlucha and Zygarde, but it also makes the team less pressured by Magnezone as the team doesn't carry 2 Steel-Types anymore. Landorus-T, unlike Latios, provides the team with a great Choice Scarfer that can gain momentum thanks to U-Turn.

With the addition of Scarf Landorus-T in the team, patlop makes Tyranitar Choice Band to help M-Medicham break through defensive cores, especially against Stall. His second minor change is to change Seismitoad's set. He replaces Protect with Knock Off, an utility move that supports the team. He also replaces Sludge Bomb with Toxic to annoy bulky Pokemon and replaces Steath Rock with Earthquake as Clefable already has rocks. His last suggestion is to change Celesteela's spread into a mixed one to better check the likes of Mega Alakazam and Tapu Lele.

MFJr King also starts off his rate by mentioning the team's issues in the Tornadus-T + Gastrodon core as nothing really breaks through it, Fire-Types since the team only carries one Fire resist, Greninja which pressures the team with its Stabs and Tapu Koko thanks to Volt Switch.

His first change is to replace AV Magearna with AV Tapu Bulu, which provides a better Tapu Koko and Greninja answer. It also supports Kartana thanks to Grassy Terrain. His second change in Ash Greninja over Weavile provides more offensive presence. Ash Greninja is a strong wallbreaker that takes advantage of the team's ability to pressure Grass-Types as well as setting up Spikes. MFJr King's last change is to make Landorus-T SD Flyinium Z. This set is able to pressure that Tornadus-T + Gastrodon core and lure Grass-Types at once, which are both helpful for Ash Greninja.

Great work and keep it up for this month :blobwizard:
