Introduction: This is one of my first teams. I tried to create a pretty balanced team centered around scizor. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
The Team:
infernape @ Focus sash
Trait: Blaze
EVs: 252 atk/252 spe/4 SpA
Naive Nature
~ Fake Out
~ Stealth Rock
~ Overheat
~ Close Combat
Generally i lead with infernape. He can set up rocks or ko other sash leads with fake-out. Also provides good coverage against grass types.
Scizor @ choice Band
Trait: technician
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD
Adamant Nature
~ U-turn
~ Bullet Punch
~ Superpower
~ Pursuit
Not much to be said here. Like i said he is the center of this team and is a good revenge killer and scout with bullet punch and u turn.
Starmie @ life orb
Trait: analytic
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
~ Hydro Pump
~ Thunderbolt
~ Ice Beam
~ Rapid Spin
Rapid spin support is nice. Good coverage and has nice defensive synergy with scizor. Starmie is very powerful but also frail so i have to be careful.
Thundurus-T @ Leftovers
Trait: Volt Absorb
Evs: 128 HP / 252 SpA / 128 Spe
Modest Nature
~ Agility
~ Nasty Plot
~ Thunderbolt
~ Hidden Power Ice
I didn't have much purpose in choosing Thundurus. He can set up on walls such as gliscor who give scizor problems. Any suggestions on a different pokemon or a different moveset would be appreciated.
Rotom-W @ leftovers
Trait: levitate
Evs: 248 HP / 28 SpA / 232 SpD
Calm Nature
~ Volt Switch
~ Hydro Pump
~ Will-O-Wisp
~ Pain Split
I use Rotom as a special wall. He can tank fire and water moves for scizor. Scizor also struggles against rain teams and Rotom is a good check for rain teams.
Ferrothorn @ leftovers
Trait: Iron Barbs
Evs: 252 HP / 48 Def / 208 SpD
Relaxed Nature
~ Stealth Rock
~ Leech Seed / Stealth Rock
~ Power Whip
~ Gyro Ball
Not much to be said here. Ferrothorn is my physical wall and i can set up stealth rock if i wasnt able to with infernape.
Conclusion: I've had decent success with this team. I rose from 1400 to 1900 in pokemon showdown ladder. I seem to have trouble against dragon types such as kyurem and dragonite, outrage 2hkos rotom and if i bring in ferrothorn he gets ohko'ed by fire blast or something, so any suggestions addressing this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
