Randbats Spotlight Ladder!

The Randbats Spotlight Ladder's purpose is simple: to give formats that would not otherwise have one a chance to be played on a wider scale. Each other month, four options will be given, and the winner after a week of voting will have its own ladder for a period of two months!

As usual, this Randbats Spotlight will feature a SMOGON TOURNAMENT related to it. More details about this tournament are included in this thread, so keep reading!

YOU MAY VOTE FOR MULTIPLE FORMATS!

What are all these mods?

Chimera 1v1:
You are given a team of 6 Pokémon, to combine into one powerful "chimera", to use in a 1v1 battle. At Team Preview the order you pick your Pokémon determines what trait you give to this “chimera”. Starting from first to last, you are going to determine type (and name/appearance), item, ability, stats, moves 1-2 and moves 3-4 with the pokemon you pick, ready to face off against the opponent's creation!

Foresighters: the first move in the moveset works in the same fashion as Future Sight, meaning it activates two turns after you click it. You can unleash powerful attacks or even use status moves both on yours (like setup) or the opponent’s (like status conditions) Pokémon, creating chain reactions that will give an unexpected turn to the battle!

Inverse: the type chart gets inverted, so that resistances (and immunities) become weaknesses and vice versa.

Full Potential: whenever you unleash an attack, the damage is calculated by using the highest stat of your pokemon. This means that usually defensive walls like Steelix and Blissey, or speedy but frail pokemon like Ninjask could turn into unexpected offensive powerhouses. Plus, Pokémon cursed with their STABs being of the wrong type gain new life in this modded Gen 3 format!

!IMPORTANT! Tournament information

This month's Randbats Spotlight is going to include a SMOGON TOURNAMENT. The format of this tournament will be the format chosen as the Randbats Spotlight. The length of this tournament will be 2 months, which will determine the pace of the tournament. The prize of the tournament will be 1 month of RPW (Room Prize Winner) and the possibility to pick a format for the next Randbats Spotlight poll!

How do I sign up?

Please do not sign up in this thread, a new thread will be open for the tournament itself.

Rules and additional details:

- When selecting a format to vote on as the winner, you will have a wide array of options, from modded variants of ladders that already exist, to formats that are challenge-only, to formats that don't exist at all! However, these are subject to coding limitations, and formats that have recently been a bimonthly spotlight cannot be voted on again for several months.
- This thread is open for discussion. Stay cordial, follow all site rules.
- Only votes in the poll above will count. Please do not type your vote out in a reply.

DON'T VOTE CHIMERA SHIT'S BOTTOM ASF
- Chimera promotes creativity (who wants creativity we are playing RANDBATS not chess)
- Chimera is a fun variant on regular mons (is it really fun??? i wanna use my defensive ice type avalugg not some glass cannon version of it)
- Chimera has a lot of unique strategies and options (refer to the first point)
- Chimera isn't that complicated after a little familiarity with it (ok but like who remembers the order out of their head)

1) Randbats can force you to make creative plays
2) Avalugg doesn't necessarily have to be a glass cannon
3) Refer to the first point
4) Me

But the superior pro-Chimera faction will rise above due to plot armor and stuff
Eh maybe.

(no one cares, but my feeling is Chimera is actively unfun, and it’d probably be the first spotlight tour so far I wouldn’t play. But there’s a significant playerbase so if they win the poll they earn it).
