All Gens Pure Hackmons Victim of the Week!

Important thing that i forgot to address as *tl* of gen 4
It's not uncommon for Gira-O to be run with sun support, which lasts forever in Gen 4 unless you happen to run a counter team
I think it's important for all checks/counters to at least note sun in their calcs, and they should be able to still beat +1 sun gira
I'm not sure how victim of the week would work with this kind of exception, but they at least consider rocks
For example,
+1 252+ Atk Pure Power Giratina-Origin Fire Fang vs. 248 HP / 252 Def Dialga: 153-181 (37.9 - 44.9%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
turns into:
+1 252+ Atk Pure Power Giratina-Origin Fire Fang vs. 248 HP / 252 Def Dialga in Sun: 229-270 (56.8 - 66.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
Meaning Gira-O wins if it DDances on the switch.
edit: forgot this specific set had spore but its not super reliable as you cant switch in to already +1 gira, or if it gets a turn 3 or earlier wake

sorry what was that

- Photon Geyser

Photon Geyser is able to blow pass Wonder Guard Pokemon, and Moongeist beam lets Mewtwo beat would-be checks such as Mega Slowbro!

Mega Aerodactyl is what I consider to be the best MMX check in the USUM Hackmons metagame. Don't get me wrong it is not a counter at all and you are definitely not switching into the Mewtwo without instantly getting one-shotted. Instead you are gently sending this Pokemon out if your previous Pokemon either fainted or is pivoting away. The main thing to consider about Mega Aerodactyl is that it completely outspeeds and OHKOs Mega Mewtwo X with a super effective STAB move while continuing to threaten various other Pokemon with its other STAB and various coverage or filler options.

Mega Aerodactyl has plenty of options to decide on what ability and item to run against opposing Mega Mewtwo X, but the Mega Mewtwo X set above is a standard set that lacks Shed Shell or Choice Scarf. This typical STAG Choice Band set is absolutely perfect!

Here's the only calc you'll need for this matchup:
252 Atk Choice Band Aerodactyl-Mega Dragon Ascent vs. 252 HP / 252 Def Mewtwo-Mega-X: 476-564 (114.6 - 135.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO

The calc comes without even factoring in the aforementioned Hasty Nature on the set above, which is a nature hindering the Pokemon's base Defense stat below neutral.

The rest of its set only consist of moves used to deal with various threats that exist outside of Mega Mewtwo X.

Ty to manu for reminding me about Huge Power bc it turns my 0.9% chance to 3hko into a very shaky 2HKO. To circumvent this I have a much better Zyg-C set that can actually damage (+ trap) MMX. Gastro Acid suppresses Huge Power, which makes Play Rough a weak ass move. In the meantime, Zyg can chip and eliminate MMX with TWaves.

the set for this round doesnt have a fire move, but its still good to prep for. If you do use flash fire willowisp can not be magic bounced back. This is a great pivot into MMX.

IVs: 0 Spe

Counter. Mega Mewtwo X can't touch Cresselia and it can always use Wish and King's Shield.

252 Atk Huge Power Mewtwo-Mega-X Photon Geyser vs. 252 HP / 252 SpD Cresselia: 144-169 (32.4 - 38%) -- 96.8% chance to 3HKO
252 Atk Huge Power Mewtwo-Mega-X Play Rough vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Fur Coat Cresselia: 84-99 (18.9 - 22.2%) -- possible 5HKO
252 Atk Huge Power Mewtwo-Mega-X Thousand Arrows vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Fur Coat Cresselia: 84-99 (18.9 - 22.2%) -- possible 5HKO

Mega Mewtwo X can't even use Moongeist Beam, as Cresselia only gets 3HKO'd by it.

252 SpA Mewtwo-Mega-X Moongeist Beam vs. 252 HP / 252 SpD Cresselia: 164-194 (36.9 - 43.6%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

Not a counter.
252 SpA Mewtwo-Mega-X Moongeist Beam vs. 252 HP / 252 SpD Cresselia: 164-194 (36.9 - 43.6%) -- 96.1% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock at 88%
While PH isn't really rocks heavy , it still is useful to break sash and can punish these kinds of switches. You also get 2KO'd if you switch to Photon once without healing. This doesn't include other forms of chip like literally any other attack Cress might want to wall for the team.
Healing itself will be a problem because: MMX Moongiests as Cress switches. MMX switches out as Cress uses Wish. Switchin threatens cress so Cress has to King's Shield to counter MMX again. Switchin gets free turn to boost or status. If Cress spectrals the switchin gets to attack. If Cress switches, it gets KO'd if it switches in on mmx again into Photon -> Moongiest.

Edit: looked at the definition actually given
Cress can switch in to any move MMX does and stalls it, but its REALLY shaky regardless.

Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Thunder Wave/Will-O-Wisp
- Shore Up
- Anchor Shot
- Perish Song/Spectral Thief/U-Turn

Steelix-Mega as a counter

Steelix-Mega tanks mmx Huge Power easily with Fur Coat.

252 Atk Huge Power Mewtwo-Mega-X Thousand Arrows vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Fur Coat Steelix-Mega: 102-120 (28.8 - 33.8%) -- 0.8% chan3HKO

252 SpA Mewtwo-Mega-X Moongeist Beam vs. 252 HP / 252 SpD Steelix-Mega: 102-120 (28.8 - 33.8%) -- 0.9% chance to 3HKO

Steelix-Mega can easily switch in and regain its health with Shore Up. Shore Up can actually benefit from Sandstorm. While Sandstorm is rare, you should honestly always have Shore Up as it can give more HP back and doesn't have any drawback. Anchor Shot allows Steelix-Mega to trap any pokemon that isn't Ghost type or doesn't have Shed Shell. Associated with Perish Song, you can get rid of offensive pokemon fairly easily as they tend to not have Shed Shell or momentum moves (U-Turn/Volt Switch/BP). Perish Song also gives you the opportunity to just pressure opposing set up and force them to leave. It also helps vs Substitute/Baton Pass teams. Finally, Thunder Wave allows you to cripple opposing pokemon while not caring about Magic Bounce since you are immune to it. Will-O-Wisp is another possibility to cripple physical pokemon even more.

Other moves that can be considered instead of Perish Song are Spectral Thief for more damage on mmx and also stealing boosts against pokemon that try to set up or U-Turn to gain momentum.

This Steelix-Mega also helps vs physical harvest users and will always beat Lum Berry/Shed Shell mmx Huge Power, except if it runs Close Combat which is never run in gen 7. (It should never be used from a coverage standpoint)

Gengar-Mega as a check.

:SM/Gengar-Mega:

Gengar-Mega @ Focus Sash
Ability: Prankster

Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Moongeist Beam
- Secret Sword
- Shell Smash
- Destiny Bond

This set is similar to Mewtwo in its ability to threaten many common Wonder Guard pokemon with Moongeist Beam and has fighting coverage for most normal or dark type Wonder Guards. If your Focus Sash is intact, you can Shell Smash and then depending on your situation either OHKO Mewtwo with a Moongeist Beam or at least remove it from the fight with +1 priority Destiny Bond. The downside is that in a worst case scenario if your sash is broken and if the Mewtwo has a priority move, you may need to rely on a speed tie. Also this set is walled by Wonder Guard Meloetta, Wonder Guard Muk, and Prankster Yveltal.

Adamant Nature
- Will-O-Wisp

- Baton Pass / King's Shield / Stealth Rock

Moves are mostly filler, all you need is WG.

252 Atk Pure Power Mewtwo-Mega-X Photon Geyser vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Meloetta: 185-218 (45.7 - 53.9%) -- 46.9% chance to 2HKO

Wisp or otherwise cripple mewtwo and then you win
