4 - Auction Info and Other Rules

The auction will take place on Sunday, May 19th at 3PM EST in a groupchat on Pokemon Showdown! Managers will have 100k credits to draft a minimum of 10 players and a maximum of 13 (8 starters, 2-5 substitutes). Managers will also have the option to buy themselves for 13k. There will be no midseason or retains. Managers can make trades, but only within 24 hours of the auction. If a player completely quits on their team, refuses to play, or in some other way "cancers" (eg. refusing to play for a specific manager, throwing games), a sellback will be considered pending host approval. This will not apply to forum bans, but it will apply to tourbans that arise from unrelated tournaments.
The playoffs will be a top 3 structure, where the first place team moves directly to finals while the second and third place team play in semifinals.
This post may be updated if any rules were forgot or added, but I will notify managers if anything new comes up.

Just for clarification, as some have asked: Cacturne, Gabite, and other Sand Veil mons are legal in DPP PU. This follows suit to NU, who also sidestepped the recent Sand Veil ban for their PL.

In this week 1 game between banks and Realistic Waters, banks brought Jumpluff despite it not being PU in generation 4. The clear precedent is that it's on the players to know the tier and what Pokemon are legal. Therefore Realistic Waters receives the win.

re: sellback
Despite signing up for PUPL, mael has not been active for almost 2 weeks, nor has he responded to HJAD's attempts to contact him and bring him onto the team. HJAD was given the option to sell mael back, and has decided to do so and pick up col49 as a replacement.

re: late trade
It was brought to my attention late this week that the Kinglers and Dedennes wished to perform a trade despite the deadline for trades having already passed. However it's still relatively early in the tour, the trade would be between two players which had not played games yet, and the managers and players were on board. I also gave the remaining managers the opportunity to veto the trade, and there were no objections to it taking place. Therefore, Osh is being traded to the Dedennes in exchange for col49.

It has just been brought to my attention that Shell Smash + Sucker Punch Huntail is not legal in BW PU (Gen 5 Clamperl only level-up move vs Gen 4 Huntail only tutor move). This combo hasn't actually been used in any games and I'm going to talk to PS devs about getting that blocked at teambuilder ASAP, but in the meantime please do not bring or use this move combination in gen 5.

re: Shadow Tag ban
Shadow Tag has just been banned from BW OU. This ban isn't meant to impact ongoing tournaments and will not impact PUPL. Shadow Tag will remain legal for finals.

Re: tier shifts
SM PU is to be played in pre-shift meta for finals and the potential tiebreak. Mesprit is legal and Cincinno, Mega Abomasnow, and Ferroseed are not. Please play SM PU games in the SM NU format.
