Battle Details:
Format
: 3v3 Singles (Gym Leader brings 4)
DQ: 72 hours
Substitutions: 3 per Pokemon
Switch: OK
Abilities: All
Items: On
Mega Evolutions: 1
Z-Moves: 1
Recoveries / Chills: Infinite
Arena: Peter's Purple Poison Public Pool for People and Pokemon
Turn Order: Gym Leader sends out Pokemon first.
Effects:
- Default weather is Artificial Acid Rain. AAR acts like normal rain, but Psychic-type moves are weakened instead of Fire-type moves. It cannot be replaced without weather rocks. The AAR is safe for humans and Pokemon, but it does slightly effect the brain power of Pokemon. Don't worry though, it will only weaken their attacking moves that use their brains, so you don't have to sue us.
- Toxic Poison now starts at 2 damage per action. Being around so much poison helps strengthen the effects poison, causing more damage.
- Fissure fails when used. How are you able to cause a Fissure in a pool?

Codifications:
- Camouflage: Poison
- Nature Power: Sludge Bomb
- Secret Power: 30% Chance to Poison

Aurumoth [Aurum] (Female)
"The voice of reason is small, but very persistent."
GP first met Aurum when she was still a little Cupra. His mom was stomping around the house and screaming about a "GIANT MONSTER COCKROACH". GP saved Aurum from the blind fury of his mom's stomping slippers, and they've been friends ever since. Aurum's mild nature really evens out GP's jolliness and energy, and she remains to this day the voice on his head saying "Y'know, this probably isn't a great idea." Even though Aurum is a huge support, and the voice of reason for many of her friends, she was fairly self-concious, with a deep-seated disgust for her own appearance, probably coming from the whole "monster cockroach" incident. She hid it well, but had often disguised herself as other, prettier Pokemon, and had always wanted to evolve, hoping that she might blossom into a Pokemon worthy of other's admiration.
Now in her final stage, a newfound confidence is beginning to rise in her, and she is much more proud of her own beauty, so much so that she is a little loathe to hide it behind an Illusion.

Types: Bug/Psychic
Bug: STAB; Adds an additional guaranteed attack on all multi-hit moves (does not include two hit moves) with a total hit cap of five (5).
Psychic: STAB; can lift and throw opponents with Psychic regardless of Special Attack Rank. Psychic-type attacks are not godlike and cannot be used as a catchall for Disabling, Binding, and redirecting opposing attacks.
Abilities:
Weak Armor
(Toggle) By default the Pokemon loosens its worn defensive armor so that it will break off when an opponent uses a contact attack, reducing the Pokemon's Defense by one (1) stage for each hit and increasing their Speed by two (2) stages for each hit. When toggled, no effect.
No Guard (Passive) This Pokemon has an immense confidence from perfecting each of its attacks, giving them all perfect accuracy as well as ignoring the effects of Double Team, evasive moves, Dodge, Sky Drop, and evasive damaging moves. As a result, it feels it can weather every strike, and will not dodge an attack even if ordered to. Only when an OHKO move is issued by the opponent does the Pokemon sense return, and the Pokemon acts normally. Additionally, even with their extra skill, the power and exhaustion involved in using OHKO moves prevents them from being benefited by No Guard; they will have their normal accuracy.
Light Metal (Hidden) (Passive) (Unlocked) The Pokemon's body is made of a lightweight but extremely strong alloy. It weighs half as much as other members of the species, but is equally sturdy. The Pokemon executes weak attacks much more effectively, adding +1 priority to all their attacks with 6 or less Base Attack Power (after other ability adjustments). Light Metal assumes the maximum possible hits from a multi-hit move for the purposes of priority (e.g. Double Kick gets priority as it reaches 6 BAP, Bullet Seed does not get priority as it reaches 15 BAP).

Lucario [Scrappy] (Male)
"Be brave! Be the bravest ever!"
Scrappy is GP's first Pokemon, and best friend for life. Scrappy and GP are almost complete mirrors of each other, and seemed destined to be together from their first meeting, that fateful day in the ancient Sinnoh rock quarry... But that's another story for another time! Now it's time for fun! Scrappy is an incredibly energetic Pokemon, as well as very trusting towards anyone he meets. He's a simple Pokemon, really. He does what's fun, he does what's right, and is always working to cheer up his friends when they feel down. He's playful, boisterous, and a self-titled "White Knight". All in all, Scrappy is in it for the fun, and for the good of others, and will always be there to put a smile on your face and defend you from your greatest fears. And for the scarves. Dude, he loves scarves.

Types: Fighting/Steel
Fighting: STAB; ignore weight restrictions on Circle Throw, Seismic Toss, Sky Drop, Storm Throw, Submission, and Vital Throw.
Steel: STAB; immune to Sandstorm damage, immune to Poison/Toxic status, but can be corroded specifically by Acid and Acid Spray, making them susceptible to Poison-type attacks and Poison/Toxic Status.
Abilities:
Inner Focus
(Passive) When an opponent attempts to flinch this Pokemon, it stands firm and continues its attack. If it has another ability that would be activated by flinching, that ability activates
Steadfast (Passive) If this Pokemon is flinched, it becomes aware of the speed difference and increases its Speed (adjusting the natural stage) by one (1) stage to make up the difference.
Justified (Hidden) (Passive) (Unlocked) This Pokemon's body reacts to dark energy, invigorating its passions. When hit by a Dark-type move, the Pokémon's Attack will increase one (1) stage (adjusting the natural stage).
Adaptability (Passive) (Mega) The moves that match this Pokemon's type have their Base Attack Power increased by two (2).

Colossoil [Charles Barkley] (Male)
Charles Barkley has always been a powerhouse... On the court, in your face, his aura is that of undisciplined power. So when the Monstars came along and took his powers, turning him into a fat whale, Charles found grief within him to perennially trap himself in the 4th Stage of Grief: Bargaining. While he waits for his powers and abilities to return, Charles is gonna become the best damn person he can be. He swears. Well... He doesn't actually swear anymore. But he promises to do his best.
Types: Dark/Ground
Dark: Dark STAB; ignores Attract and Confusion status entirely when using Dark-type damaging and non-damaging attacks. Immune to all status moves used by a Pokemon with the Prankster ability (as well as all moves summoned by a Prankster-boosted non-damaging move).
Ground: Ground STAB; immune to Sandstorm. Ignores Arena restrictions on Dig and Seismic Attacks for Arenas in which any land mass exists, Evasive Digging reduced from 6 per action Energy Cost to 5 per action.
Abilities:
Rebound: (Trigger) The Pokemon is able to bounce one layer of an entry hazard back from their side of the field to the other side with their immense strength and intuition. Command: Activate Rebound (target hazard layer) - 5 En - Removes a layer of hazards from the user's side of the field. Places a layer of the same type on the opponent's field. In battles with more than two teams, the user must target a team to Rebound to.
Guts: (Passive) This Pokemon is tenacious and will work ever harder when under a status condition, raising the Base Attack Power of all its physical attacks by three (3). Pokemon with Guts ignore the attack drop from burn.
Unnerve: (Passive) (Hidden) (Unlocked) The Pokemon's presence causes immense tension in the opponent, preventing them from eating a held Berry. Natural Gift may still be used.

Once more, I find myself in this arena, with a new umbrella to boot, since my old one was getting too many holes to my liking. The rain doesn't seem as noxious today though, so that's a relief!
...Wait, no, it's still acid rain, what am I saying?
Teams! They're cool. No big surprise on Yoshi's side, especially that Tentacruel of his. You should rename yourself Yoshitenta, at this rate. Nothing too out of the ordinary for GP either, though with a Psychic-type, a Steel-type, and a Ground-type, he's trying out every single way to counter a Poison Gym. Let's see if he can take home the Normal Badge!

We're off to an aggressive start as Victreebel and Aurumoth take their respective place on the field! Granny Pie tries to take away Yoshibalze's weird rain with a Sunny Day, but Yoshiblaze doesn't like having its toys removed so it just puts Aurumoth to sleep.
After that, he proceeds to spam Sludge Bomb on the bug, which retaliates with a Psychic and a Blizzard, respectively. In a shocking twist as early as this round 1, that Blizzard ends up freezing Victreebel in place!
What a cruel fate, O RNG goddess, for a sunny weather would have nullified the freeze chance and saved Yoshi from dealing with this very annoying event!

Following the battle's fast-paced beginning, the second round opens with a double-switch that produces an entirely new matchup between two offensive giants: Gengar and Colossoil. The whale's bulk and typing quickly pushes it ahead in an unceremonious game of rocket tag that leaves Gengar in critical condition; if not for a smart Giga Drain, the specter would have returned to the grave as quickly as it rose. Moreover, the Leader has worsened Gengar's plight by forgetting to use its Mega Stone, but luck has tuned to the Leader's side: a fortuitous crit helps to make up for the loss in damage, while Gengar's new Ability takes out Colossoil's most damaging attack.

In the aftermath of the high-octane round, the challenger holds the immediate advantage, but Gengar's arsenal of tricks should give it a way out. The Leader will have to play carefully here to avoid suffering the first KO of the match.

The leader tries to keep Gengar in the fight via Endure, but the challenger easily spoils the plan with the one-two punch of Encore and Taunt, forcing Gengar to Struggle itself out of play. As if rubbing salt into the wound, Colossoil also throws a useless Sucker Punch that serves as a meta-Taunt in its own right. With Victreebel frozen and Gengar KO'd, the leader finds themselves in a considerably disadvantagous spot and will need to exercise great caution in the coming round.

Wary of being outlasted, the challenger hamstrings Tentacruel's recovery by taking out its Black Sludge. However, Tentacruel retaliates by eliminating Colossoil's Speed advantage, then leverages the weather to cleanly KO the narwhal with a Brine. Having lost few resources this round, Tentacruel is still in good shape, but it must now face two powerful Pokemon with no item or supereffective STAB moves to even the damage race.

Luck is against the leader this round; not only does the challenger's fresh Lucario start the round a critical Earthquake, it also manages to dodge Tentacruel's retaliatory Hydro Pump. After that, Lucario continues its onslaught with a three-hit Bone Rush and a second Earthquake, leaving Tentacruel in critical condition. To its credit, the Poison type whittles away a little over a third of Lucario's HP, but it does little to relieve the leader of this dire situation.
