Format: 3v3 Singles (Gym Leader brings 6)
DQ: 72 hours
Substitutions: 3 per Pokemon
Switch: OK
Abilities: All
Items: On
Mega Evolutions: 1
Z-Moves: 1
Recoveries / Chills: Infinite
Arena: Peter's Purple Poison Public Pool for People and Pokemon - Challenge Mode Edition
Turn Order: Gym Leader sends out Pokemon first.
Effects:
- Default weather is Amplified Artificial Acid Rain. AAAR is kinda like normal rain, but with a lot of added effects. All of the effects are: Boosts the BAP of Water moves by 3, Weakens the BAP of Psychic moves by 3, all Pokemon lose 1 HP per action unless they are Poison, Water, or Bug-type, activates rain abilities, and does not weaken the power of weather based healing moves or Solar Beam, can only be replaced by weather rocks (this was meant to be in the rules post since the Normal Mode version has this)
- Normal Poison now deals 3 damage per action, Toxic poison Starts at 2 DPA. Being around so much poison helps strengthen the effects poison, causing more damage.
- When a Pokemon is Poisoned, the Gastro Acid effect is put on the Pokemon for 6 actions. Resets if a poisoned Pokemon is switched out and comes back in still poisoned. The pool helps amplify the effects of poison, causing Pokemon to lose some of their special power for a little while.
- Fissure fails when used. How are you able to cause a Fissure in a pool?

Codifications:
- Camouflage: Poison
- Nature Power: Sludge Bomb
- Secret Power: 30% Chance to Badly Poison

Saxton [Colossoil] (M)
Nature: Jolly (+15% Spe, +14% Acc, -1 SpA)
Type:

: Dark STAB; ignores Attract and Confusion status entirely when using Dark-type damaging and non-damaging attacks. Immune to all status moves used by a Pokemon with the Prankster ability (as well as all moves summoned by a Prankster-boosted non-damaging move).
: Ground STAB; immune to Sandstorm. Ignores Arena restrictions on Dig and Seismic Attacks for Arenas in which any land mass exists, Evasive Digging reduced from 6 per action Energy Cost to 5 per action.

Abilities:
Rebound: (Trigger) The Pokemon is able to bounce one layer of an entry hazard back from their side of the field to the other side with their immense strength and intuition.
Guts: (Passive) This Pokemon is tenacious and will work ever harder when under a status condition, raising the Base Attack Power of all its physical attacks by two (2). Pokemon with Guts ignore the attack drop from burn.
Unnerve: (Passive) The Pokemon's presense causes immense tension in the opponent, preventing them from eating a held Berry. Natural Gift may still be used.

: Ghost STAB; immune to the effects of full trapping moves and the Arena Trap, Magnet Pull, and Shadow Tag abilities. Ghost-types can switch out while affected by a partial trapping move, but they will be damaged every action by their effect.

Abilities:
Stance Change: (Passive) This Pokemon changes its stance from Shield Forme to Blade Forme when ordered to use a damaging attack (regardless of that attack's success or failure to execute), and will revert to Shield Forme when using the move King's Shield. Non-damaging attacks will retain the Pokemon's current Forme at the time of use.

Abilities:
Clear Body: (Passive) This Pokemon's body structure makes it immune to stat-lowering moves used by opponents. (e.g. Intimidate, Growl, Screech etc.)
Light Metal: (Passive) The Pokemon's body is made of a lightweight but extremely strong alloy. It weighs half as much as other members of the species, but is equally sturdy. The Pokemon executes weak attacks much more effectively, adding +1 priority to all their attacks with 6 or less Base Attack Power (after other ability adjustments). Priority is applied to the summed Base Attack Power of a multi-hit move (e.g. Double Kick has priority at 6 BAP, Skill Link Bullet Seed doesn't at 15 BAP.)

Hold Back

Huh? I could have sworn I was analyzing a Dragon Gym match just a second ago... Well anyway, here's the pool again! I'd advise against trying a dip though, it's even more acidic than its Normal Mode counterpart.
The only unusual sight in Yoshiblaze's team is Crobat, a Pokémon rarely seen in BBP as whole. I wonder what would make it effective here? Other than that, it's the trusty team he always brings and has proven to be quite solid.
Geodude, on the other hand, brought two Steel-types and one Ground-type, hoping to make good use of the former's immunity and the latter's SE hits. Colossoil and Aegislash are goodstuff mons but Metagross brings the additional Psychic typing to the table, making it a really interesting pick.
And now for the tango to begin.

Yoshiblaze got a lucky Roar roll since Colossoil will have to weather Grass-type moves for an entire round, though I'm personally expecting another chicken dance, maybe some Bounce tricks or something.

Anyway, Colossoil got its hi-bye strategy underway, you can expect more Metagross action next round, as Venusaur is beginning to slowly use its energy. Things aren't looking so good for our Gym Leader!

This is officially a Chicken Dance match. This round is a mixed bag for Yoshiblaze, as he managed to put up Reflect, but now Venusaur is as good as dead and the very scary Metagross in front of him is still very much alive and kicking punching.
So, what's next? Bringing Gengar, to try to preserve his wall while dishing out Shadow Balls? Or sacrificing Venusaur, to be able to order second with a fresh mon?

Can we just point out that Metagross used a resisted hit while Venusaur used a super effective attack... and they almost did the same damage? No? OK.
In any case, Venusaur finally bites the dust, which means Yoshiblaze will have to do serious thinking to turn this match around. To add insult to injury, Geodude managed to shatter Reflect before ending the round, so that little bit of extra protection is gone as well.

And this is the round where both players brought their big guns: it's an exchange, blow for blow, of high-powered moves. Tentacruel can thank Rain Dish for not being stomped to death this round, while the difference in HP was made just a bit more apparent. Maybe thos is what Yoshi needed as his saving grace, because now he's ordering second, though Geodude can certainly push his advantage a bit further...
