Welcome to the subforum for Smogon's NeverUsed tier. We are the usage-based tier directly below RarelyUsed and above PU. In this thread, we hope to provide you with all of the relevant information about our tier's community, rules, projects, tournaments, and resources.

Rules

As with every community on Smogon, we expect the users that stop by our subforum to adhere to Smogon's global rules, which can be found here or at the bottom of every page on our domain.

Additionally, we request that you follow some simple etiquette when making a post.

• You must receive permission from an NU forum moderator before making a new thread.
• Be respectful of others when making a post. Angry or aggressive posts will not be tolerated.
• When posting in a discussion-heavy thread, such as the current metagame thread or the Viability Rankings, do your utmost best to make posts with thought-out content. Any post that is interpreted to be inappropriate for the discussion, made in jest, or posted without any thought or reason behind it is subject to moderator discretion.
• Do not post threads for teams in this forum asking for rates. Use the Rate My Team subforum or use our NU Team Bazaar thread.
• Do not make a thread to ask a simple question. We have a thread made for answering questions that you can find here.
• Trolling of any kind will be deleted and infracted.

The NU Discord is plenty active, with tons of users that are willing to help you build and test NU teams. You can check it out here provided you have a Discord account.

We have a general chat for metagame discussion and small chat, an announcement channel so you can get notifications for events in the community right to your phone, and a channel for posting and rating teams.




We also have our very own room on Pokemon Showdown, which you can find here or by simply navigating the Pokemon Showdown chat list. Our room sports a healthy environment for getting involved in the tier, with a staff team that's prepared to help you with any questions you may have.

MAY

• [TIERING] May 1st - Usage-Based Tier Update. NU gains Indeedee-M and Whiscash, and loses Floatzel

• [TIERING] May 3rd - NP: Stage 2 was posted, announcing our first ever suspect test this gen: Indeedee-M
• [TIERING] May 20th - Indeedee-M remains banned from NU
• [PROJECT] May 9th - NU TeamBuilding Lab was created by user Danny
• [TIERING] May 30th - Home is oficially out, meaning regional forms are now legal in NU along with (old?) new moves being introduced back. This post covers the now legal Pokémon alongside some relevant changes, courtesy of user Togkey

JUNE

• [TIERING] June 1st - Usage-Based Tier Update. NU gains Komala, and loses Lycanroc, Passimian and Zoroark

JULY

• [TIERING] July 1st - Usage-Based Tier Update. We received the quick drops from Pokémon Home, and lost Vaporeon. Post with all drops courtesy of user Luck O' the Irish
• [TIERING] July 2nd - NU Council held a vote on Frosmoth, Hoopa, Mesprit, Tauros and Tornadus-I. As a result, Frosmoth and Tornadus-I were quickbanned from the tier
• [TIERING] July 9th - NU Council held a vote on Grimmsnarl, Hoopa, Mesprit and Tauros. As a result, Hoopa was quickbanned from the tier
• [TIERING] July 11th - NP: Stage 3 was posted, announcing our first post-home suspect test in Grimmsnarl
• [TIERING] July 24th - Grimmsnarl has been banned

AUGUST

• [TIERING] August 1st - Usage-Based Tier Update. NU gains Avalugg, Avalugg-Hisui, Cryogonal, Floatzel, Samurott and Zoroark. Post courtesy of my dear MF BLOOMS teammate Aawin
• [TIERING] August 2nd - NP: Stage 4 was posted
• [ANNOUNCEMENT] August 3rd - Finchinator has stepped down from council. Thanks for all your contributions to the tier!
• [TIERING] August 6th - Jolteon, Oricorio and Zoroark have been quickbanned following a council vote
• [ANNOUNCEMENT] August 6th - GXE has joined council. Welcome aboard!
• [TIERING] August 10th - NU Council held a vote on Dudunsparce, who was quickbanned from the tier
• [ANNOUNCEMENT] August 14th - Following Meri Berry stepping down from Tier Leader, etern has been appointed as our new TL (for the 3rd time?) and is well on his way to be the first Top Community Leader badge holder. Wish you the best in your future endeavors meri, and welcome back etern!
