Deoxys-Speed @ Expert Belt
Name: Nasty Plot
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Nasty Plot
- Expanding Force
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Beam

[SET COMMENTS]
With Nasty Plot, great coverage in BoltBeam, and a lightning-fast speed tier outspeeding the entire unboosted metagame as well as boosted threats like +1 Volcarona, +1 Dragonite, and Choice Scarf Urshifu-R, Deoxys-S makes for a great setup sweeper. Thunderbolt threatens the likes of Corviknight, offensive Pelipper, and Choice Specs Greninja. Ice Beam allows Deoxys-S to take on Gliscor, Hydrapple, and the Landorus formes.

Indeedee is a valuable partner, as it sets up Psychic Terrain to both boost Deoxys-S's Expanding Force and prevent it from being revenge killed by Kingambit's Sucker Punch, Dragonite's Extreme Speed, or Lokix's First Impression. Furthermore, Indeedee's part Normal-typing and access to Shadow Ball make it a great asset in the Ghost matchup. Jirachi and Metagross provide great entry hazard support with Stealth Rock, and Jirachi provides pivoting with U-turn. In return, they appreciate Deoxys-S taking on Ground-types such as Great Tusk and Garchomp in return. Slowbro is a great physical wall that takes on Chien-Pao and Kingambit with Body Press, and it spreads status with Thunder Wave so Deoxys-S outspeeds Choice Scarf users like Iron Valiant and Enamorus. Hatterene provides hazard control for Psychic teams thanks to Magic Bounce, and with its Fairy-typing, it takes on Dark- and Dragon-types such as Hydreigon, Meowscarada, and Raging Bolt. Choice Specs Latios and Choice Band Hoopa-U wallbreak in the early-game so that Deoxys-S can clean late-game. Latios breaks through Sableye and Skeledirge, while Hoopa-U threatens Blissey, specially defensive Ting-Lu, and Heatran. Choice Scarf Iron Boulder handles threats faster than Deoxys-S such as Choice Scarf Iron Valiant, Choice Scarf Meowscarada, and Choice Scarf Hisuian Arcanine. In return, Deoxys-S handles Ground-types such as Landorus and Gliscor.

Deoxys-S can use Energy Ball to reliably hit Water- and Rock-types such as Swampert, Gastrodon, and Rhyperior. However, it is not worth sacrificing either its STAB or its key BoltBeam coverage. Superpower with 4 Attack EVs and a neutral nature can also be used to target Normal-, Dark-, and Steel-types such as Blissey, Tyranitar, Kingambit, and Heatran. However, Superpower is only useful in those specific scenarios, and it would be essentially useless outside of them.

With its access to the valuable BoltBeam combination, it threatens a myriad of threats including Corviknight, Pelipper, Choice Specs Greninja, Gliscor, Hydrapple, and Garchomp. i would just expand on why these mons are threats in particular to psychic, pelipper doesnt strike me as much of a threat really unless its specifically offensive and your team isnt running gking(good special sponge) or slowbro (water resist). and since you didnt mention it in the teammates section (which is fine) i would specify offensive pelipper and try to separate the examples that thunderbolt hits and what ice beam hits. like tbolt hits xyz and theyre troublesome for psychic teams because abc and same with ice beam, since a lot of these threats are contingent on what mons youre using. like garchomp shouldnt really be a threat if you have slowbro, etc.
