Next Slate: Revamping the Old

Pokemon: Cheepit
Type:
/

Design/Flavor: Based on the Himalayan monal, pictured above, which lives in the cold mountains. Cheepit is multicolored but looks like a chick, small and round like Rookidee.

Pokemon: Monalaya
Type:
/

Stats: 70 / 60 / 65 / 90 / 110 / 100 (495)
Abilities: Ice Body / Snow Warning / Dazzling (HA)
Notable Moves: Aurora Veil, Ice Beam, Blizzard, Freeze-Dry, Hurricane, Roost, Defog, U-turn, Weather Ball, Tri Attack, Focus Blast, Power Gem
Height/Weight: 2'06'' ft / 15 kg
Design/Flavor: Monalaya's beautiful plumage makes it a prized Pokemon for collectors. Living on cold, snowy mountains, their iridescent coloration sticks out from the background.
Competitive: Monalaya sets up hail and Aurora Veil with its decent speed stat, an acceptable SpA stat for spamming Blizzard, and U-turn for pivoting out to a teammate who can take advantage of Aurora Veil. Its main drawback is its typing, with a double weakness to Stealth Rock encouraging it to hold HDB, but it also wants to hold Light Clay to boost veil time.

Pokemon: Yuvakaash
Type:
/

Design/Flavor: Yuvakaash and Pythakaash are based on the Indian rock python, with their names being based on the Hindi words for lightning (aakaash-) and young (yuva).

Pokemon: Pythakaash
Type:
/

Stats: 85 / 100 / 90 / 60 / 90 / 70 (495)
Abilities: Strong Jaw / Shed Skin / Static (HA)
Notable Moves: Stone Fangs*, Stone Edge, Thunder Fang, Wild Charge, Stealth Rock, Coil, Rock Polish, Fire Fang, Ice Fang, Psychic Fangs, Crunch, Earthquake, Body Press, Superpower, Iron Tail, Volt Switch
Signature Move: Stone Fangs - Rock-type Crunch
Height/Weight: 7 ft / 75 kg
Design/Flavor: Pythakaash have highly developed muscles that can both squeeze prey with bone-crushing force as well as generate electricity which travels along the lengths of their bodies. This electrical charge helps them paralyze their prey to subdue them faster.
Competitive: Pythakaash can set up with Coil and spam Strong Jaw-boosted STABs and coverage, and can also set Stealth Rock.

Pokemon: Dwebble-India
Typing: Rock/Ice
Ability: Sturdy/Ice Body/Mountaineer
Moves: [Dwebble's Moveset] + Blizzard, Freeze-Dry, Icicle Crash, Ice Shard, Icicle Spear
Stats: 50/65/65/55/35/55

Pokemon: Himalayer
Typing: Rock/Ice
Ability: Sturdy/Ice Body/Mountaineer
Moves: [Dwebble's Moveset] + Blizzard, Freeze-Dry, Icicle Crash, Ice Shard, Icicle Spear
Stats: 70/105/95/95/75/45

Description: The Himalayas are very close to India, so I thought a Mountain-themed Dwebble/Crustle would be cool (funny pun please laugh).

Pokemon: Asholeo
Type: Rock/Ground
Stats: 80/130/115/45/45/100 (BST: 515)
Ability: Intimidate / No Guard (Justified)
Notable Moves: Stone Edge, Earthquake, U-Turn, Swords Dance, Rock Blast, Stealth Rock, Rock Polish, Close Combat, Play Rough, Crunch, Psychic Fangs, Fire Fang, Ice Fang, Thunder Fang, Iron Tail
Height/Weight: 6'03"ft, 100kg
Design/Flavor: Asholeo is based on the statue of the Lion Capital of Ashoka (name: Ashoka + Leo), which is also the state emblem of India. Rock/Ground typing because the Lion Capital of Ashoka is a statue. Its abilities makes flavor sense as well. Intimidate because of its appearance, No Guard because the lions face in every direction, while Justified gains flavor from its motto "Truth Alone Triumphs".
Competitive: Can be used as an offensive Stealth Rock setter, a set-up sweeper, or a choice attacker. All of its abilities are useful in their depending on its role. Intimidate gives it opportunities to set up or lay Stealth Rock, No Guard gives its moves Stone Edge, Iron Tail, and Play Rough perfect accuracy, while Justified can be used on choice sets to gain an Attack boost when switching to Dark-type moves.

Fakemon Line based on Phantom Rock, among other things (those being Marble Rocks, Bhoots, and rats)

Pokémon: Marbhone
Type: Rock/Ghost
Stats: 60/105/100/65/75/85 (BST: 485)
Ability: Solid Rock/Cursed Body/Tough Claws
Notable Moves: Shadow Claw, Shadow Ball, Poltergeist, Shadow Sneak, Rock Slide, Stone Edge, Head Smash, Stealth Rock, Blaze Kick, High Jump Kick, Iron Head, Work Up (This is its only set-up option so I think it should be here)
Height/Weight: 0.8m (2'06), 93 kg (205 lbs)
Flavour: This thing's main inspiration is Phantom Rock, a rock formation in India, which gained its name from one of its rocks looking like a skull. Its palette would be inspired by marble rocks, common in India, along with white rats (pictured above), that being well... white. Its colours also take inspiration from bhoots, an Indian supernatural being (usually ghosts), attributed to wear white clothing. As I didn't exactly want to go the Haunter route on design, I decided to try and find an animal to be part of its design, and settled on a rat. Rats were found to bury random objects (I think marble was used in its testing, which is why I decided to use it as the chosen animal). Due to the fact that bhoots are supposedly able to take the form of animals, I decided to make it a more monster-y approach on a rat, having longer front limbs with sharp claws, along with long hind legs akin to a kangaroo's, as well as a bigger body in general. Its back feet are turned backwards, something universally attributed to bhoots, used as a main way to identify them. In terms of how Phantom Rock affects the design, its limbs, along with some of its body have marble rock fragments strewn across them, with sharper pieces on its claws. However the main inspiration from Phantom Rock is a bull-like skull made out of rock on the Pokémon's head. Its actual body (the rat part) is a brighter white than the marble rock.
Marbhone from Marble/Marrow + Bhoot + Bone
Competitive: Marbhone is an offensive Rock Type, having an extremely strong option in Tough Claws Head Smash, albeit with the drawback of a ton of recoil especially with that base 60 HP. Its secondary typing in Ghost also gives it a decently strong option in Poltergeist along with the priority Shadow Sneak. It also has the ability to set up Stealth Rock, along with some decent coverage in Blaze Kick, HJK and Iron Head. I could see it running Scarf Rocks along with Head Smash, Shadow Sneak and Poltergeist/Blaze Kick/HJK, although some other things such as Life Orb could also work.
252 Atk Choice Band Tough Claws Marbhone Head Smash vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Fluffy Melurslea: 148-174 (35.7 - 42%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

And yeah I guess Marbhone could run Band but its speed isn't ideal so this is very unlikely, just sort of meant to be a show of power

Snow_leopard_in_Afghanistan.jpg

Fakemon line based on Snow Leopards as well as the Himalayas

Pokemon: Felifrost
Type: Grass/Ice
Flavour: Based on a leopard cub, as well as ice and grass, chloroplast-like spots cover its body like leopard spots, giving its body a green colour, although there are thicker, white parts of fur in certain areas more based on now.
Felifrost from Feline + Frost

Pokemon: Florncifreze
Type: Grass/Ice
Stats: 70/80/65/90/70/123 (BST: 498)
Abilities: Own Tempo/Snow Cloak
Notable Moves: Petal Dance, Snowfall Stream*, Giga Drain, Energy Ball, Seed Bomb, Blizzard, Ice Beam, Icicle Crash, Triple Axel, Crunch, Nasty Plot, Freeze Dry, Ice Shard
Height/Weight: 0.9m (2'11), 64 kg (141 lbs)
Flavour: Based on a fully grown snow leopard The leopard spots are replaced with parts based on chloroplasts/plant cells in general, that being the reason its body is green. It has more rough tufts of fur with a white colour scheme, based on snow. In terms of what could be described in its Pokédex entry, it would be something about how its presence on the high areas in the mountains allows grass to grow.
Florncifreze from Flora + Uncia (comes from Panthera Uncia, the name of the snow leopard's species) + Freeze
Competitive: Thanks to having 2 extremely strong options in Petal Dance and Snowfall Stream, Florncifreze usually just sits around, maybe carries Ice Beam as a 4th move after the 2 aforementioned ones and Nasty Plot, maybe Giga Drain, maybe something like Ice Shard, but the point is it won't put in too much work throughout the majority of the match, being almost solely reliant on coming in in the late game, getting up a Nasty Plot, and sweeping with either Petal Dance or Snowfall Stream (it usually will come in once all the resists to one of them are either extremely weakened or knocked out). However, it does its function very well.

Pokemon: Thundahi
Type: Dragon/Electric
Stats: 70/60/90/80/130/80
Abilities: Aftermath, Storm Drain, Drought (HA)
Notable Moves: Volt Switch, Thunder Wave, Thunderbolt, Discharge, Draco Meteor, Overheat, Heat Wave, Earth Power, Solar Beam, Taunt, Sparksplosion (Electric | Special | 140 BP | 100% Acc | 5-8 PP | Effect: Paralyzes the Opponent, The User Self-Destructs)
Height/Weight: 11’06’’ Ft, 211.7 Kg
Design/Flavor: Based on the Ahi, a serpent dragon from Hindu Mythology that swallowed up all the waters on the Earth (Hence the Drought) before being defeated by Lightning from the god Indra (For the Electric Typing).
Thundahi is a primarily orange serpent with a head somewhat resembling a Chinese dragon. A splattering of Yellow and Electric Blue scales run down the sides of its body. It’s mouth and back of the head is a scarlet red. Blue sparks fly out from its body.
Competitive: I wanted to experiment with the concept of a weather setter who doesn’t directly benefit from the condition it sets. Thundahi additionally functions as a solid Special Pivot that can provide some support with Thunder Wave, Volt Switch, Taunt, and Sparksplosion. Because of the high BP of many of its moves, Thundahi is also not completely passive, having the ability to fire off respectable Dracos and weather boosted Overheats.
Sub phase ends tomorrow.

Sparksplosion sounds really nice. The high power is obviously a plus, but the real kicker is being able to bring something in for free against a paralyzed foe.

Woah, as a Pakistani muhajir this is a great idea for a pet mod! Submitting based on my experiences with wildlife and nature in the subcontinent.

Pokemon: Bengoh
Type: Poison/Fighting
Stats: 87 / 120 / 80 / 70 / 95 / 73 (BST: 525)
Abilit: Heatproof / Tough Claws / Sand Force (HA)
Notable Moves: Dragon Dance, Close Combat, Crunch, Scald, Poison Jab, Fire Fang, Earthquake, Stone Edge, Dragon Claw, Hone Claws
Height/Weight: 2.9 m / 35 kg
Design/Flavor: My inspiration for this pokemon are the bengal monitors (commonly called the Goh dragons natively). They are known for surviving in many different climates within the subcontinent, but most notably thrive in dry, arid landscapes. There are many local legends about the strength of the Goh dragons grip, and the fact that it latches onto its victims and does not let go until they are dead, hence the Fighting type and the move Close Combat. I didnt see Gunk Shot fitting the Goh dragon, as even though they are venemous I cant picture them just puking up a gunk of venom at the opponent lol. Scald is purely flavorful, because all my encounters with the God dragons have been by riversides and the flavor of this usually desert clime lizard chilling in the water lended itself to Scald. Dragon Dance and Dragon Claw are because it is a Goh Dragon, obviously, and apart from that its pretty standard fare, nothing much fancy here.

Edit: Added Hone Claws cuz I somehow got drunk enough to not realise the excellent flavor there

Pokemon: Shivagni
Type: Ice/Fire
Stats: 100/57/80/115/73/105 (BST: 530)
Abilit: Sheer Force (Flash Fire)
Notable Moves: Ice Beam, Fire Blast, Overheat, Energy Ball, Flash Cannon, Blizzard, Sludge Bomb
Height/Weight: 2.9 m / 35 kg
Breeding Groups: Humanlike/Mineral
Design/Flavor: Shivagni is literally a Shatagni which is like Indian Gunpowder but made of Ice shavings in this case. It’s body is made of olden style Indian bombards.
Competitive: it’s a fast fire/Ice type that isn’t as insane as a certain zen mode snowman. As a special attack sweeper it is held back by a lack of boosting moves and as a Sheer Forcer it needs to be very careful deciding between boots and life orb, but it’s STAB combo is very nice.
