This next slate will focus on creating brand new water, grass, and fire starter fakemon for this India-based region. Remember to read through the rules before submitting and make sure to differentiate your starter from the winners of the first slate. Like the last, this slate should last somewhere around 5-7 days.

Next Slate: Regional Evolutions

Don’t mean to double post, but I should probably make some subs!

Pokemon: Flaracub
Type: Fire
Design/Flavor: Flaracub is based on tiger cubs. It is said that their stamina is around the same level as that of marathon runners. Flaracub is a combination of flare and cub.

Pokemon: Bengafang
Type: Fire
Design/Flavor: Bengafang are much larger tiger cubs, but they are still not considered mature and adults. Bengafang leave hot paw marks on the ground when they run. Bengafang is a combination of Bengal (as in the Bay of Bengal) and Fang.

Pokemon: Bengaflare
Type: Fire/Ground

Abilities: Blaze, Mold Breaker
Notable Moves: Flare Blitz, Earthquake, Crunch, U-turn, Close Combat, Rock Slide, Fire Lash
Height/Weight: 4 1/2 ft, 47 kg
Design/Flavor: Bengaflare are now fierce and mature adult tigers that run at a decent pace and when they bite you, you will feel a very hot sensation because their teeth are so hot. Bengaflare is a combination of Bengal and Flare. They are based on the national animal of India: the Bengal tiger. They typically reside at the eastern side of the region (In real life India, this can be interpreted as near the Bay of Bengal, Bhutan, and Myanmar.) since there are lots of food there to eat.

In combat, they will sometimes play with incoming attacks like Shadow Ball and Seed Bomb as if they were toys, seemingly unaffected by the attacks altogether. Gangephin are overall a greyish blue with two light-emitting spots where the eyes would be that even blink as if imitating eyes.
Competitive: Gangephin has good Special Attack and speed along with STAB Hydro Pump and Shadow Ball as its main options. Water Spout can also be used to deal heavy damage to slower opponents. Calm Mind can be used to set up, and Flip Turn provides pivoting.

New Pokemon name: Monkfruity
Stat Distribution: 95/120/85/60/70/105 (535)
Type: Grass/Fight
Notable Moves: Grassy Glide, Wood Hammer, Drum Beating, Knock Off, U-Turn, Mach Punch, Vacuum Wave, High Jump Kick, Thunder Punch, Fire Punch, Ice Punch, Spikes, Blaze Kick, Meteor Mash, Trop Kick, Rock Slide, Stone Edge
Abilities: Overgrow (Defiant)
Competitive Overview: This flavorful monk takes advantage of a powerful Fight/Grass type niche. Unlike Breloom it is faster and naturally more durable but while Defiant is nice, it cannot compare to Poison Heal or Technician. Its best use is to probably to help deter web or Defog usage for teams that struggle with those. If you can get the boost, you're pretty scary, hard hitting and have 2 forms of priority attacks if under Grassy Terrain although there's little you can do about poison types, especially levitating varieties.
Flavor: Monk Fruit is a real fruit and if you want to find a nice healthier sweetener alternative to the poison that is sugar, I highly recommend it! Monkfruit is more Himalayan SE Asian hence the name MONK fruit and Its first stage is Clobbacado and stage 2 is called Beetemup.
Breeding Groups: Grass/Humanlike
Weight: 95 kg

New Pokemon name: Yogflare
Stat Distribution: 80/70/72/113/90/109 (534)
Type: Fire/Fairy
Notable Moves: Fire Blast, Flamethrower, Calm Mind, Shadow Ball, Teleport, Psycho Boost, Psychic, Moon Blast, Volt Switch, Aura Sphere, Energy Ball, Wish, Spikes
Abilities: Blaze (Magic Guard)
Competitive Overview: A Fire type with Magic Guard and teleport while also being a fairy with a good secondary STAB in Fire as well as Wish, a hazard and the ability to outspeed base 108s effectively. Might take some time to get used to, but should certainly have the coverage it needs.
Flavor: So Yoga fire! That's literally it. It's a Dhalsimish Pokemon. A meditative fire breather that can rake itself on coals you see from a sort of SE Asian themes. Evolves from Lungburn, and Namastoast.
Breeding Groups: Humanlike/Monster

New Pokemon name: Seafallo
Stat Distribution: 126/88/90/70/90/81 (535)
Type: Water/Normal
Notable Moves: Mega Horn, Sword Dance, Liquidation, Head Charge, Horn Leech, Play Rough, Body Slam, Quick Attack, Aqua Jet, Throat Chop, Close Combat, Slack Off, Stealth Rock, Hydro Pump, Scald, Hyper Voice
Abilities: Torrent (Adaptability)
Competitive Overview: An actually good water/normal type?! Its not a terrible STAB combo especially with double priority. It's also got a great defensive spread at 126/90/90 with only 3 weaknesses and a bunch of resists.
Flavor: WATER Buffalo. It's literally what it is. No complexities here at all. These bison are all over East Asian tropics and especially the Indian subcontinent. It has water pumps for horns.
Breeding Groups: Water2/Field

Description: Tea is a very large part of Indian culture, and goats are also a common animal in India, and the pun just sort of made itself. Either way, this is another grass-goat Pokemon like Gogoat with a sort of peace/meditation them to it. The names are mostly just tea puns ("Goat" + "Tea", "Herb" + "Bleat"), but the final evolution's name is a combination of the word "Chai", the Hindi word for "Tea", and the name "Naigamesha", the goat-headed god of fertility (in relation to birth, but for our purposes, pretend it means for plants), hence the Psychic-typing.

Pokemon: Spicepek (Spice + Peck)
Type: Grass
Design/Flavor: Based on a baby Peacock.
Spicepek is an emerald, round baby bird. It has a smaller scale version of the peacock’s brilliant fanlike tail that drops down over the body. The tail is patterned with gold flowers, and the tips are covered in an orange powder. It has short and stubby gold wings.

Pokemon: Peacurry (Peacock + Curry)
Type: Grass
Design/Flavor: Inspired by the Indian Peafowl and Curry powder.
Peacurry is a gold and green, medium-sized bird resembling a peacock. It’s head and Neck are colored green, while the body is gold. The fan tail now stays upright and holds a brilliant pattern of green and gold. It has a plume made of small palm fronds. The orange powder now dots it’s head and can be seen on the ends of its tail, plume, and wings.

Pokemon: Curcrispyre (Curry + Cristatus, Peafowl Scientific Name, + Pyre)
Type: Grass/Fire
Stats: 115/75/55/100/125/60 (530 BST)
Abilities: Overgrow, Spicy Signature (Flame Body Clone)
Notable Moves: Curry Cascade (Grass | Special | BP: 80 | 100% Acc | 10-16 PP | Effect: 30% Chance to burn), Lava Plume, Giga Drain , Leech Seed, Will-o-Wisp, Stun Spore, Aromatherapy, U-Turn, Roost, Fire Blast, Leaf Storm, Dazzling Gleam, Air Slash
Height/Weight: 4’11’’ Ft, 54.1 Kg
Design/Flavor: Based on the Indian Peafowl and Curry.
Curcrispyre is a primarily green Peafowl encircled by orange streams of Curry (Think like in Avatar state). It’s plume is now an orange flame, and none of the orange powder remains, replaced by a gold patterning somewhat resembling fire. It’s magnificent fan tail is a mix of orange flame, and green and gold flora.
Competitive: Curcrispyre is meant to function as a sturdy special wall that although not strong stat-wise when it comes to taking physical attacks, can still successfully punish physical attackers thinking they are entering for free with high burn chance moves like Will-O-Wisp, Curry Casacade, and Lava Plume. Access to Roost, Giga Drain, and Leech Seed help it hang around throughout battles while moves like Aromatherapy, Stun Spore, and U-Turn provide utility and momentum for the team. Lastly, access to powerful special moves like Leaf Storm and Fire Blast coupled with a serviceable SpAtk of 100 helps it remain far from passive.
1598505281061.jpeg

Pokemon: Kinling (Kindling + Hatchling)
Type: Fire
Design/Flavor: Inspired by a crocodilian hatchling.
Kinling is a small crocodile hatchling that is almost entirely bright red accept for the white hot egg shell that covers its entire head with the exception of one tiny chip that reveals a glowing eye. A long, thin snout pokes out of the shell.

Pokemon: Magsnap (Magma + Snap)
Type: Fire
Design/Flavor: Draws inspiration from the Gharial, a reptile found in many parts of India that resembles a crocodile with the exception of its much thinner, longer snout and jaw filled to the brim with teeth.
Magsnap is a mostly crimson colored Gharial that stands on 2 legs. Down its back rides large, white hot spikes, and it’s hands and feet are a light blue.

Pokemon: Gharola (Gharial + Mola Ram, the Indian Jones bad heart rip out of body dude)
Type: Fire/Water
Stats: 80/120/90/80/80/80 (530 BST)
Abilities: Blaze, Unburden (HA)
Notable Moves: Infernal Gash (Fire | Physical | 120 BP | 90% Acc | 5-8 PP | Effect: The User prepares itself the first turn, raising Atk by 1, then attacks on the second), Blaze Kick, Fire Punch, Liquidation, Aqua Jet, Close Combat, Throat Chop, Rock Slide, Earthquake, Thunder Punch, Flip Turn, Taunt, Swords Dance
Height/Weight: 6’01’’ Ft, 98.4 Kg
Design/Flavor: Inspired by Gharials and Mola Ram from Indiana Jones, whose Thugee cult was based in India in the movie. Mola Ram’s fancy secret underground sacrificing death area also featured a magma pit, tying into the fire typing.
Gharola is a primarily maroon Gharial that stands on 2 legs like its Pre-Evolution. It’s Legs, Belly, Arms, and Snout are all a light blue. It has long, vicious, white hot claws, and two white hot ridges run down its back. Two white hot horns run down the head toward the snout somewhat similarly to Mola Ram’s headpiece.
Competitive: Gharola is intended to function as an Unburden sweeper that has no need to be paired with a terrain setter to perform due to its signature move infernal gash, which enables it to utilize power herb to set up unburden while also gaining +1 Atk. It can also still function as a traditional unburden sweeper though, having access to Swords Dance and Taunt to help set up and clean up the opposing team. Lastly, it could maybe function as a choice user that utilizes Flip Turn and a pretty substantial movepool to the pivot around, revenge kill, and potentially break.

Pokemon: Cetasplash (Cetacean + Splash)
Type: Water
Design/Flavor: Based on a dolphin.
Cetasplash is a small cute turquoise baby dolphin with an orange tail and fin.

Pokemon: Rhythfin (Rhythm + Fin + Dolphin)
Type: Water
Design/Flavor: Inspired by the Ganges River Dolphin and traditional Indian dancers.
Rhythfin is a medium-sized slightly more streamlinedolphin that has an orange upper body and head that fades into a turquoise tail. It has a red dot on its forehead along with red highlights on the edges of its fins and flippers.

Pokemon: Ganbhara (Ganges + Bharatanatyam, a type of Indian Dance)
Type: Water/Grass
Stats: 95/70/70/110/110/75 (530 BST)
Abilities: Torrent, Chlorophyll (HA)
Notable Moves: Dawntide (Water | Special | 90 BP | 100% Acc | 10-16 PP | Effect: Power doubles in the sun) Solar Beam, Petal Dance, Fiery Dance, Growth, Dazzling Gleam, Morning Sun, Flip Turn, Hydro Pump, Giga Drain, Psychic, Calm Mind
Height/Weight: 6’04’’ Ft, 126.4 Kg
Design/Flavor: Based on the Ganges River Dolphin and traditional Indian dancers.
A much more elegant looking dolphin that is primarily orange. A turquoise wave pattern bordered by dark green runs along the sides of its body. A small crest/crown of dark green lies on the top of its head. The ends of its flippers and tail morph into long thin, dark green leaves, making it somewhat resemble a dress.
Competitive: Ghanbara is intended to work as powerful sun sweeper, utilizing its solid bulk to set up a Growth or Calm Mind, then tearing through opposing teams using its buffed speed via Chlorophyll. It’s Signature move Dawntide grants it a usable STAB water move in the sun (the double in power only serves to counter the nerf from the sun), and Solar Beam and Fiery Dance grant it two extremely powerful moves that synergies well with sun. I’m honestly not sure if this thing having Growth makes it a little too much to handle, I might remove it later.

Pokemon: Peaclap (Captivated Pokemon)
Type:

Abilities: Overgrow / Tangled Feet
Dex Entry: This Pokemon never misses a good show. Peaclap gets so excited during the climax that it claps so hard it starts to fly.

Pokemon: Trippea (Aspiration Pokemon)
Type:

Abilities: Overgrow / Tangled Feet
Dex Entry: Trippea dreams of being a world famous dancer; but it literally has two left feet and trips over itself whenever it starts moving too fast.

Pokemon: Leafowl (Belly Dance Pokemon)
Type:

Abilities: Overgrow / Dancer
Dex Entry: When Leafowl starts to dance it's leafy tail expands up to 5 times it's original size and acts as a backdrop to the performance. This Pokemon's best dance move is so mesmerizing that it can turn its audience into a forest. (Inspiration)
Height/Weight: 4'11'', 157 lbs
Stats: 90 / 110 / 75 / 65 / 75 / 115 (530 BST)

Notable Moves: Petal Dance, Petal Blizzard, Leaf Storm, Dazzling Gleam, U-Turn, Brave Bird, Bolt Beak, Low Kick, Encore, Synthesis, Growth, Swords Dance, Feather Dance, Lunar Dance
Signature Move: Dryad Dance (
100 BP - Puts target under the effects of Forest's Curse)

Competitive: Leafowl should find plenty of opportunities to switch in, despite being an offensive Pokemon, thanks to it's resistances to common offensive types (Fighting, Dark, Water, Ground). Once on the field, it's best option is to start firing off Dryad Dances. Most Fire and Poison Pokemon that switch in to tank a Fairy attack have to be wary of a super-effective Brave Bird on the following turn now that they are under Forest's Curse. Steel Pokemon aren't affected by this strategy though, so Magnezone would be a good partner. Leafowl can also annoy most Dragon Dancers by copying their boosts, out-speeding them, and forcing a KO with one of its coverage moves.

Pokemon: Fizzle (Rattlesnake Pokemon)
Type:

Abilities: Blaze / Flash Fire
Dex Entry:

Pokemon:
Laviper (Heat Leech Pokemon)
Type:

Abilities: Blaze / Flash Fire
Dex Entry: Laviper feeds entirely on heat. Once it gets a bite of it's target it won't let go until it's victim is cold and numb.

Pokemon: Vampfire (King Cobra Pokemon)
Type:

Abilities: Blaze / Grassy Surge
Dex Entry: Due to it's massive size and bright colors, Vampfire has to conceal itself in tall grass to keep from being noticed. It mostly has a cool and calculated demeanor; but when it loses its temper, it burns down everything around it. (Inspiration)
Height/Weight: 12'06'', 203.3 lbs
Stats: 80 / 90 / 80 / 110 / 80 / 90 (530 BST)

Notable Moves: Fire Blast, Fire Lash, Flare Blitz, Sludge Bomb, Gunk Shot, Scale Shot, Crunch, Sucker Punch, Giga Drain, Power Whip, Glare, Coil, Nasty Plot, Grassy Terrain
Signature Move: Wildfire (
150 BP - 30% chance to cause a burn. Only usable if Grassy Terrain is in effect, then ends Grassy Terrain)

Competitive: Grassy Terrain reduces damage taken from Earthquake while also giving Vampfire STAB on it's Grass attacks and allowing the use of it's signature move. A Nasty Plot set functions as a decent stall breaker since Chansey, Quagsire, Toxapex, etc can't wear it down with Toxic or burns while it sets up multiple Nasty Plots and heals itself with Giga Drain. An Offensive Coil set can be effective too, but a Mixed All-out-Attacking set may be slightly better since Vampfire has a bunch of coverage options.

Pokemon: Trunkcup (Big Cup Pokemon)
Type:

Abilities: Torrent / Water Absorb
Dex Entry: Trunkcup enjoys playing with Cufant. Cufant uses its shovel-like trunk as a spoon to stir the water in Trunkcup's tank.

Pokemon: Dumbowl (Watering Hole Pokemon)
Type:

Abilities: Torrent / Water Absorb
Dex Entry: Groups of Dumbowl can be found in the driest areas of the India region. The water in their tank is so purified, other Pokemon drink from it.

Pokemon: Kettlephant (Tea Pot Pokemon)
Type:

Abilities: Torrent / Flare Boost
Dex Entry: Larger than Donphan, but smaller than Copperajah, Kettlephant uses its tail to lift the hood off it's back and fills itself up with water gathered up by its trunk. It can do heavy damage when it's tank reaches full capacity. (Inspiration)
Height/Weight: 6'06'' ft, 777 lbs
Stats: 65 / 73 / 117 / 87 / 123 / 65 (530 BST)

Notable Moves: Steam Eruption, Water Spout, Liquidation, Hyper Voice, Facade, High Horsepower, Body Press, Heavy Slam, Heat Crash, Stored Power, Spit Up, Stockpile, Curse, Tea Time
Signature Move: Refill (
- Heals user by 50% of it's max HP and increases it's Stockpile counter by 1)

Competitive: Kettlephant's best option is probably its Stockpile + Spit Up set. Flame Orb is necessary on this set to keep Kettlephant from being worn down with Toxic as it sets up, while also activating Flare Boost. And although a base 87 Special Attack isn't saying much, a maxed-out Spit Up combined with Flare Boost and STAB can OHKO standard Toxapex with no Special Attack investment. A Mixed Curse set, with Facade and Steam Eruption as it's two attacks, can be effective as well.

Height/Weight: 5'0"ft, 90 kg
Design/Flavor: Its camouflage skills are now complete, it can camouflage on anything, anywhere. Tranzeylan likes to play pranks and surprise people and Pokemon alike. Tranzeylan uses its long, powerful tail to attack. Name comes from transform + Chamaeleo zeylanicus, the Indian chameleon's scientific name.
Competitive: Can either be used as a Choice Band wallbreaker, Nasty Plot sweeper, or a Curse + Synthesis sweeper. Sucker Punch fits it flavor-wise and gives it priority to offset its low Speed. It also has adequate coverage: Aqua Tail gives it strong coverage against Fire-types, Drain Punch/Low Kick/Focus Blast hit Steel-types hard, Rock Slide/Ancient Power hit Bug-, Flying-, and Fire-types.

Fire starter line is based on Chital, a deer species found in the Indian subcontinent.

Design/Flavor: Name comes from Blaze + Chital. Blazital's antlers and hooves are engulfed in flames. Male Blazital's antlers are longer than the females'. Not to be one-upped by the males, the flames on the females' hooves burn brighter. These gender differences make the male Blazitals the stronger ones and the female Blazitals the faster ones.
Competitive: A Swords Dance sweeper with Reckless-boosted attacks and wide coverage options. Horn Leech and Morning Sun provide it with ample recovery to mitigate the recoil damage taken from its strong attacks. A decent Special Attack stat can also allow it to run a surprise special attacker set such as Weather Ball and Solar Beam in the sun.

Height/Weight: 5'01"ft, 136 kg
Design/Flavor: A fully grown Indian Boar. Name comes from sooar, the Hindi word for boar + swine. Sooagua can shoot both water and mud from its mouth. Despite its love for mudbaths, Sooagua is a hygenic boar. It likes to clean itself with water after a bathing in mud.
Competitive: A physical wall that can lay down Stealth Rock and pivot out with Flip Turn. STAB Scald and Scorching Sands allow it to spread burns and whittle down the opposition. Thick Fat allows it to regain its Ice resistance and also gain a double resistance to Fire. Its great bulk and decent Attack stat can let it run a Curse sweeper set.

Wild Water Buffalo Fakemon Line (Water Starter)

I think a water buffalo Pokémon is perfect for a water starter, a large part of it coming from the fact that it isn't a marine animal. It also has a notable feature in its large horns which can be exaggerated/have the design revolve around them.

Pokemon: Lacalf
Type: Water
Flavour: Small Buffalo, with a blue colour scheme. Not very fat and small horns.
Lacalf from Lake + Calf

Pokemon: Riffalo
Type: Water
Flavour: Middle-size buffalo with blue colour scheme. Is noticably fat and has decently sized horns.
Riffalo from River (Riffa is almost the same pronunciation) + Buffalo

Pokemon: Arnidrorn
Type: Water/Fighting
Stats: 100/113/80/100/70/65 (BST: 528)
Abilities: Torrent/Sheer Force
Notable Moves: Liquidation, Rushing Horn*, Close Combat, Megahorn, Bulk Up, Hydro Pump, Focus Blast, Head Smash, Play Rough, Quick Attack, U-Turn
Height/Weight: 1.9m (6'01), 235 kg (518 lbs)
Flavour: Similar to an actual water buffalo, albeit with more exaggerated features, like being a bit fatter to represent the low speed a bit better, along with the actual head being a bit smaller but with much larger horns and a bit of a larger snout-like-thing. The changes to its snout is so that it can be a bit more obvious for flavour where it does a heavy breathe-out akin to how a bull would in cartoons. Blue-ish colour scheme.
Arnufforn from Arnee (Bubalus Arnee is the Wild water buffalo's species) + corruption of Hydro + Horn
Competitive: Sheer Force gives it a nice damage output that can come from either offense, both being good. On the physical side, it has Sheer Force boosted Liquidations and Rushing Horns for good damage, and can also use Close Combat, along with Play Rough, Quick Attack for priority, and U-Turn for pivoting. It can also opt for a mixed set with an extremely strong Focus Blast.

Snow Leopard Fakemon Line (Grass Starter)

Having a snow leopard as a grass starter I find as an interesting choice, however I chose it because one of the main areas where grassland is in the Indian Subcontinent is the Himalayas, where the snow leopard lives.

Pokemon: Meademow
Type: Grass/Ice
Flavour: Small leopard cub with a grass-like design and colour scheme, with shards of ice strewn across its body.
Meademeow from Meadow + Corruption of Meow

Pokemon: Felifrost
Type: Grass/Ice
Flavour: Not an adult, but no longer very young looking. Similar design and colour scheme, however with a more notable incorporation of ice.
Felifrost from Feline + Frost

Pokemon: Florncifreze
Type: Grass/Ice
Stats: 70/95/70/100/70/123 (BST: 528)
Abilities: Overgrow/Own Tempo
Notable Moves: Petal Dance, Snowfall Stream*, Giga Drain, Energy Ball, Seed Bomb, Blizzard, Ice Beam, Icicle Crash, Triple Axel, Crunch, Nasty Plot, Freeze Dry, Earth Power, Ice Shard
Height/Weight: 0.9m (2'11), 64 kg (141 lbs)
Flavour: Although based on a snow leopard, its design is very grass-like, along with ice aspects of course. Its body is a bit more exaggerated than a usual snow leopard, namely being longer. In terms of what could be described in its Pokédex entry, it would be something about how its presence on the high areas in the mountains allows grass to grow.
Florncifreze from Flora + Uncia (comes from Panthera Uncia, the name of the snow leopard's species) + Freeze
Competitive: Pretty straightforward, functions as a lategame sweeper with Nasty Plot and then Petal Dance/Snowfall Stream to wipe out a weakened team.

Dromedary Fakemon Line (Fire Starter)

I've chosen the dromedary, also known as the Arabian camel or Somali camel, found in India. Another part of the design is taken from the city Jaipur, known as 'India's pink city', where dromedary are found.

Pokemon: Camarid
Type: Fire
Flavour: Very small camel, short-ish neck and short legs, only has one hump on its back and its a lot smaller than the final form's humps.
Camarid from Camel + Arid

Pokemon: Flaridrom
Type: Fire
Flavour: Larger, more notable fire-design. Now has two humps, although they are still smaller than the final form's ones.
Flaridrom from Flare + Arid + Dromedary

Pokemon: Jaidaburn
Type: Fire/Steel
Stats: 98/70/115/80/95/70 (BST: 528)
Abilities: Blaze/Castle Walls* (Magic Guard Clone)
Notable Moves: Lava Plume, Metal Spit*, Flash Cannon, Fire Blast, Flamethrower, Iron Head, Flare Blitz, Will-O-Wisp, Iron Defense, Body Press, Scorching Sands, Earthquake
Height/Weight: 2.2m (7'3), 185 kg (408 lbs)
Flavour: The design of this Fakemon is like a dromedary, although a more crimson red colour scheme, along with the bumps on its back meant to resemble the walls of Jaipur, as seen in the third picture. The head of the Fakemon would have something like the top of some of the walls.
Jaidaburn from Jaipur + Dromedary + Burn
Competitive: The point of this Pokémon is to induce burns and eat hits, for the most part. Its hidden ability means that it doesn't have to worry about entry hazards, allowing it to run Leftovers to recover more HP.

Welp, might as well try my hand at helping out with this mod. I put in WAY too much thought into this set, but I really like how it all turned out in the end!

The Berry Horn Pokémon
The bright growth on its head smells like a sweet fruit. It lurks in bushes with only this growth exposed, allowing prey to come to it.
It is descended from a ferocious predator from a prehistoric era. It acts like it's still the king of its land, bullying its prey into submission.

Name Origin: Berry + Theropod
Type: Grass
Stats: 40/70/65/55/35/45 (BST: 310)
Abilities: Overgrow (HA Magic Guard)
Design/Flavor: Berropod is a small predatory dinosaur similar to Tyrunt, but with a shorter, blunter head and a jagged mouth. It is a light greenish blue in color with a light blue-gray belly and lower jaw, and the top of its head has a dark magenta dome suggesting a berry, with a little grass-green spike like a stem on the top; its tail has a single dark magenta stripe like those on a tiger. It also has a vine wrapped around the base of its neck like a collar with three large green leaves sticking out of it, drooping over the sides and back. The back angles upward at a 45-degree angle, but the short tail is horizontal. Its large eyes are yellow with slitted pupils, its feet are the same as Tyrunt's in shape, and its tiny arms are little nubs with a single claw each.

Evolves at Level 15 into...

The Regal Pokémon
Its head sports a crown of colorful fruit for luring in prey. When two Majungrow fight over territory, the winner eats the fruit right off the loser's head.
Though largely carnivorous, it seems to have a taste for sweet berries as well. It expects to be fed its favorite foods without having to hunt for them.

Name Origin: Majungasaurus + Grow
Type: Grass
Size: 4', 80 lbs
Stats: 50/90/85/65/45/65 (BST: 400)
Abilities: Overgrow (HA Magic Guard)
Design/Flavor: This is a bigger, more menacing version of Berropod, whose body is now largely horizontal with larger legs, but with the tail still low-hanging and the torso angled downward, the posture being akin to the Vastatosaurus rex from Peter Jackson's King Kong. The smaller, narrower eyes are more like those of Carracosta, with dark magenta "eye shadow" around the lower halves of them. The tail has two dark pink stripes now, and the head now sports four berry growths with the green spike being nearer to the back of the head, so it resembles a cluster of grapes, while over the eyes are two small green horns colored the same as the head spike. There are four leaves growing from the vine collar around the neck, resembling the feathery leaves of a cycad and pointing backwards but also flaring outwards a bit; another leaf is present on the end of the tail. The tiny nubby arms and claws point backwards, like those of a real abelisaur.

Evolves at Level 35 into...

The Imperial Pokémon
When exposed to the scent of its leaves and fruit, people and Pokémon seem to feel younger. Ruling over ancient forests, it cultivates plants often found nowhere else in the world.
Deep in its forested territory, it lies in wait for prey to approach. If a victim can best it in battle, it rewards them with a gift of its berries, the juice of which is said to have healing powers.

Name Origin: Cycad + Chakravarti (the Sanskrit term for an imperial ruler)
Type: Grass/Dragon
Size: 8', 550 lbs
Stats: 70/110/105/85/65/85 (BST: 520)
Abilities: Overgrow (HA Magic Guard)
Design/Flavor: A massive and imposing apex predator, Cycavarti has an almost Godzilla-like feel to its stature, almost like Tyranitar but more svelte, with tiny useless arms and a massive, blunt head with powerful, jagged-mouthed jaws. It has a diagonal spine and a tail that drags along the ground, much like Ray Harryhausen's stop-motion theropods from One Million Years B.C. or The Valley of Gwangi. The regal-looking leaf collar is akin to Tyrantrum's but made of cycad leaves instead of feathers, flaring outwards and a bit upwards, while the back and thighs (the legs resemble Tyrantrum's) have grayish brown scales akin to the bark of a cycad trunk, with the rest of the body being blue-green like Copperajah's main body color, with the belly and lower jaw being a pale aqua green. The tail also resembles a mix of a cycad and a palm tree, with the "bark" having seven sections alternating between gray-brown and dark pink, with a bunch of small leaves forming a brush-like cluster surrounding a large dark pink berry resembling both a cycad pod and a scepter head. On the other end, there is now a greater number of berries arranged on the top of the head, resembling both a grape cluster and a Hindu crown, with two upwards-curving green horns framing it and the center spike now being a small nose horn like that on a Ceratosaurus.

Competitive Info: With mediocre speed and HP and decent Special Attack, this line's selling point is its incredible physical attack and defense. This is a sledgehammer build akin to Golurk, Ursaring, or Tyrantrum, with an ability that allows it to shrug off damages from statuses, entry hazards, or weather conditions, leaving it free to dish out heavy damage. Its main failing is its poor Special Defense - which is especially problematic when most of its six weaknesses, including a double weakness to Ice, are heavily geared towards special attacks.
Signature Moves:
  • Berry Blast - Grass-type physical Electro Ball clone
  • Primeval Power - Dragon-type physical Mystical Fire clone
Inspirations: The Grass starter basis tradition (at least according to fanon) is related to prehistoric megafauna, and while two dinosaur-based lines exist, including a theropod/squamate mix (Sceptile), I wanted a massive lumbering monstrous carnivorous retrosaur in the vein of Tyrantrum. To this end, I gave the Harryhausen/Charles R. Knight treatment (diagonal spine, dragging tail) to a creature based on abelisaurid theropods such as Majungasaurus, Rajasaurus, and Carnotaurus - dinosaurs of this family have been found in both India and Madagascar, meaning they must've moved in back when the two landmasses were still connected. The berry crowns are a nod to the bony knobs on the heads of these genera, with Majungrow eating each others' berries during fights specifically referencing bone injuries suggesting cannibalism in Majungasaurus fossils.
The starter trio I had in my head also references the Trimurti, the three supreme deities of Hinduism. Cycavarti is the analog of Vishnu, who governs the fundamental force of preservation, whereby the universe is maintained in the stage between its creation and its destruction. This is why I based this line off a dinosaur - it's a creature which has been preserved long after the non-avian dinosaurs went extinct!

The Warm Fur Pokémon
Its fluffy coat heats up air trapped within it, keeping it warm and cozy on cold mountain slopes. It prefers its plant food charred to a crisp.
These strong, collected Pokémon can carry heavy loads for hours without tiring. Their horns become searing hot when charging at attackers.

Name Origin: Yak+Kindle
Type: Fire
Size: 1'05", 25 lbs
Stats: 65/45/55/45/55/40 (BST: 305)
Abilities: Blaze (HA Overcoat)
Design/Flavor: Though intended as a cute yak calf, Yakindle is more stylized than the real animal. It's basically a ball of red-orange shaggy fur with four tiny nubby feet with white hooves sticking out of the bottom, two moderately sized, curved, white horns emerging from the top near the front along with a light orange snout poking out of the front and two short ears on either side. The rear also has a short, thin tail with a glowing yellow-orange flame on the tip instead of a tuft of hair.

Evolves at Level 12 into...

The Serene Pokémon
It stores electricity in its coat to keep itself warm. It makes a crackling noise as it moves, so it often sits still for long periods to avoid attracting predators.
Often found resting as though meditating, Buffalohm conserve their body heat in this way until it's needed. If forced to fight, their fiery stampedes can be devastating.

Name Origin: Buffalo + Ohm (both the mantra and the electrical unit)
Type: Fire/Electric
Size: 3'9", 75 lbs
Stats: 90/85/60/70/60/50 (BST: 415)
Abilities: Blaze (HA Overcoat)
Design/Flavor: Here we have a more realistic-looking yak, but bipedal like a minotaur, albeit with the same very shaggy fur as its predecessor. Its fur is however styled almost like a monk's robes, with the "hems" of the limb fur being charred black; a mop of shaggy black fur also covers the top of the head like hair, though it still doesn't cover the light orange snout. The horns and hooves are now yellow, the large water buffalo-style horns curving upwards before turning out to either side, the bases being joined like those of a cape buffalo, the overall shape resembling an inverted ohm symbol (Ω). The tail flame is now larger, and almost takes a shape akin to a lightning bolt.

Evolves at Level 32 into...

The Pacifist Pokémon
Though its power over both heat and electricity is incredible, it avoids violence unless it must protect what it holds dear. Even so, it never bears any grudges - even towards defeated foes.
Legend has it that the first Yogauri grew a fertile paradise for people by charring dry deserts into ash. As it meditates, electricity is drawn to its horns, changing the weather as it sees fit.

Name Origin: Yogi + Gaur
Type: Fire/Electric
Size: 6', 475 lbs
Stats: 115/85/90/85/90/60 (BST: 525)
Abilities: Blaze (HA Overcoat)
Design/Flavor: This immense, powerful bovine has dark red fur styled like the robe of a Hindu god, including black charring that is more pattern-like, like a very simplified version of henna and reminiscent of lotus flower petals, including a scorch mark shaped like a flower in the middle of the chest and a black "cigarette-burn" spot on the forehead like a bindi. There is no head fur this time, but a mane of black fur around the neck resembles a scarf; instead, the join of the horn bases is merged with the top of the head and resembles a monk-like bald cap; the eyes are permanently closed like Snorlax's, while the yellow horns are now joined at the tips, but there are two smaller hornlets horns jutting out of each side with an upwards curve, making the horns resemble the ohm symbol seen right-side-up this time. The head and chest are light orange with shorter hair than the rest of the body, the edges of the chest patch being both wavy and jagged like a cartoon flame. Finally, the tail flame is bright yellow-orange and resembles Raichu's tail bolt, though with the zig-zag being less pronounced.

Competitive Info: With massive HP and solid defenses, along with decent offenses but poor speed, this is a tank through and through, trading hits with other heavyweights and being able to employ both offensive Fire and Electric attacks (along with Grass, Ground, Steel, and maybe even a few Psychic ones like Zen Headbutt) and useful status moves like Will-O-Wisp and Thunder Wave to both support allies and dish out damage directly. With no less than eight resistances including a double resistance to Steel, and only three weaknesses (though the double-weakness to Ground is painful), along with a weather-immune Hidden Ability this is a sturdy beast who can afford to be docile, but can throw its weight around if it needs to on both the physical and special fronts, as well as offering support duty on the side as needed or wanted.
Signature Moves:
  • Scorching Horns - Fire-type Smart Strike clone
  • Arc Lightning - Electric-type Scald clone
Inspirations: The Chinese Zodiac fan-theory for the Fire starters is upheld here, as restrictive as it is design-wise, but I found a way to make it pay off nonetheless. Yaks, water buffalo, and gaur (the largest member of the cattle family) are all found in India, and so I was drawn to the Ox sign for this line as a nod to the cow being sacred in Hindu lore. Besides, I absolutely could not resist the allure of Buffalohm's simultaneously brilliant and cringe-inducing punniness, so it was only natural that the secondary Electric typing followed.
Among the Trimurti, Yogauri represents Brahma, who embodies the force of creation; Brahma lends his name to the Brahmin priests, which in turn were the origin of the name of the Brahmin breed of domestic cattle. The electrical powers are also a reference to the storm god Indra, another major Hindu deity with an association with bulls in early scriptures. Tying into the creation aspect, I also worked in the idea of fires burning dead, dry plant matter into a rich ash which fuels new growth, similar to how the milk of a divine cow in Hindu lore helped grow the first crops.

The Sea Snake Pokémon
It's able to hunt both in the sea and on land. The distinctive stripes on its body warn of its short temper.
It can spit jets of water to knock down targets from fifty feet away. The stunned prey can't escape as it closes in.

Name Origin: Krait + Tyke
Type: Water
Size: 2', 20 lbs
Stats: 45/50/40/60/40/70 (BST: 305)
Abilities: Torrent (HA Skill Link)
Design/Flavor: It's a super-deformed banded sea krait, plain and simple. The eyes are solid green without pupils, the forked tongue is purple, the bands on the body are white and dark blue, and it has a sea-blue tadpole-like fin on the end of its tail.

Evolves at Level 14 into...

The Sea Snake Pokémon
It wields whips of water sprayed from the spouts on its shoulders, leaving its head free to develop fangs packed with venom. Its stealth and cunning are the stuff of legends.
A popular folktale describes how Garapid's spittle grew toxic out of anger over an injustice against it. A single bite from this sly Pokémon can leave you ill for weeks.

Name Origin: "Gara" ("poison" in Sanskrit) + Rapid or Elapid (the family of venomous snakes that kraits are classed under)
Type: Water/Poison
Size: 5', 55 lbs
Stats: 60/65/55/90/55/85 (BST: 410)
Abilities: Torrent (HA Skill Link)
Design/Flavor: More than just a longer version of Kraityke, Garapid has a few key differences of note. The first is the presence of venomous fangs protruding downwards and slightly sideways from the mouth, not unlike a stiletto snake, so it can still inject venom even when the mouth is closed. The other major difference is the presence of two short, stubby, dark blue, flipper-like arms a third of the way down the body, with two cylindrical nozzles jutting forwards from the tops of the shoulders. For more minor differences, the eyes are narrower and more cunning in look, a short horn like a rhinoceros viper can be seen on the top of the snout, and there is also a fin running down the back from the back of the head to between the shoulders, matching the one on the end of the tail.

Evolves at Level 34 into...

The Militant Pokémon
The spouts on its shoulders shoot poisoned water which it can form into razor-whips resembling extra necks and heads. These whips seem to act on their own will, lashing out at many foes at once.
When the fins on the sides of its neck are spread to their fullest extent, it's a sign that it's ready to fight. It hones its prowess in combat by fiercely challenging any Pokémon it sees as its equal in power.

Name Origin: Naga + Gurkha, soldiers native to the Indian subcontinent of Nepalese nationality
Type: Water/Poison
Size: 8'10", 120 lbs
Stats: 70/90/65/120/65/115 (BST: 525)
Abilities: Torrent (HA Skill Link)
Design/Flavor: The final stage of this sinister-looking Pokémon is similar to both Seviper and Arbok, with a long, sinuous body. It has a greenish yellow underbelly and lower jaw like a yellow-bellied sea snake, and both the tail fin and the long fangs like those of Seviper are purple in color. The top of the head also has a curved yellow horn shaped like a kukri, in reference to the horns of Thai naga statues. There are also two fins on either side of the neck instead of a single dorsal fin, normally folded against the neck but able to flare out like Heliolisk's frill to form a three-quarter-circle shape, light blue in color with purple jagged edges. The flipper arms have now become fully fledged, taloned arms shaped like those of Druddigon, but smaller relative to the body and spike-free, the upper arms and claws being white and the forearms being dark blue. Finally, there are four small spouts on the shoulders, two each, which emit light blue water whips with blades on the ends formed from water shaped like Seviper's tail blade, with holes through them resembling eyes and a gradient to purple on the envenomed tips.

Competitive Info: The fastest of the starters in this set and the one with the highest Special Attack, it should be obvious what this water snake is expected to do. Powerful STAB is par for the course, so Hydro Pump and Sludge Wave are a given, though Taunt, Nasty Plot, and Toxic are also handy. Alternatively, Skill Link can be used alongside Scale Shot or especially the signature moves below. Other general type coverage I can see this thing using includes Dark, Fighting, Dragon, Ground, and Steel due to the blade theming.
Signature Moves:
  • Water Whip - Water-type special Tail Slap clone
  • Virulent Blades - Poison-type special Icicle Spear clone, deals physical damage
Inspirations: The Water starter is often said by fanon to be based on either an amphibious animal or some kind of weapon or warrior variety. I'm not convinced about the latter but the former definitely holds more water (wump-waaah~), so I just went with both. The animal is a banded sea krait, known for its incredibly deadly venom, and the weapon is an urumi, a flexible whip-like sword from Kerala and Sri Lanka. This being a region based on India, I then worked in traits of several species of cobras (which are elapids, the same family as sea kraits), including king and spitting cobras, and finally the divine cobras from Hindu mythology known as nagas - the snake-shaped whips on Nagurkha refer to how nagas often have multiple heads.
Nagurkha is the embodiment of the third and final deity of the Trimurti, Shiva, who is synonymous with destruction. This is an especially appropriate association, not only because the Poison type is a destructive element in of itself, but because Shiva is often depicted wearing a snake around his neck - it even has its own name, Vasuki! Nagas themselves are generally benevolent, but are nonetheless venomous and can be dangerous to people, you know, like actual cobras are.

The regal-looking leaf collar is akin to Tyrantrum's but made of cycad leaves instead of feathers, flaring outwards and a bit upwards, while the back and thighs (the legs resemble Tyrantrum's) have grayish brown scales akin to the bark of a cycad trunk, with the rest of the body being blue-green like Copperajah's main body color, with the belly and lower jaw being a pale lime green. The tail also resembles a mix of a cycad and a palm tree, with the "bark" having seven sections alternating between gray-brown and dark pink, with a bunch of small leaves forming a brush-like cluster surrounding a large dark pink berry resembling a scepter head.

  • Berry Blast - Grass-type Electro Ball clone
  • Primeval Power - Dragon-type Mystical Fire clone
Inspirations: The Grass starter basis tradition (at least according to fanon) is related to prehistoric megafauna, and while two dinosaur-based lines exist, including a theropod/squamate mix (Sceptile), I wanted a massive lumbering monstrous vintage theropod that was the warlord of its world in the vein of Tyrantrum.

The Warrior Pokémon

It has a yellow underbelly and lower jaw like a yellow-bellied sea snake, and both the tail fin and the long fangs like those of Seviper are purple in color.

Could you provide Notable Moves for these? Love the ideas though :)
