NATIVEMONS
:braviary::furfrou::infernape:

Introducing a majestic, magnificent, monumental, momentous mod, Nativemons! A new Pet Mod focusing on creating on 40-50 Fakemon and Pokemon micrometas based on locations from around the world.

The Basics: Each micrometa will be based upon a single region of the world such as the Philippines, the Sernegeti, or the Pacific Northwest and will contain various fakemon, regional forms, regional evolutions, and edited existing Pokemon. Each meta will contain only 25-30 fakemon lines, roughly 5 new Regional form lines, about 5 more new Regional Evolution lines, and around 10 altered Pokemon. These metas would aim to have a power level mixing together lower tier SS OU and UU. This thread will be slate based, with each slate focusing on various types of submissions. One slate might be for starter fakemon, while others might cover buffing various existing Pokemon or maybe even just ask for submissions that are ice type or are defensive walls.

Submissions: Each type of Submission differs slightly from the others, but all follow the same general pattern. Since any pre-evolutions for submissions exist almost entirely for flavor, stats, move pool and ability is not really needed, although anyone is welcome to include them in a submission if they

Rules: I want to try to shy away from having a multitude of complicated restrictions, but there are still a few guidelines.
1. Unless there is a specific reason, try to keep the BSTs of Submissions below 560
2. No insane overpowered 150 Atk Huge Power or 120 Speed Fisheous Rend type stuff, as stated earlier, I want the power level of this mod ideally to be equivalent to that of SS UU and lower tier of SS OU.
3. Feel free to add new signature moves to your Pokemon, just don’t add any additional effects to moves that have not appeared before in a Pokemon game.
4. New Abilities are also accepted, but they should function as semi-clones of existing abilities, like a Ground-type Water Absorb for example.
5. Try to keep submissions based on the actual region, no kangaroo Pokemon in an Alaska based metagame please.

Questions:

1. So basically we are creating a fake region concept with fakemons?
2. After we made to 40-50 fakemons, will we make another region?

1. In short yes, but there won’t solely be fakemon, as there will be slates for new regional variants of existing pokemon and slates for adjusting already existing Pokemon that fit the theme of the region so that they match the power level of the meta.
2. Yes, after each meta is completed, a new location will be decided on to create another micrometa.

Slate 1: Picking a Location
:Bouffalant::Passimian::butterfree:

This slate will focus on picking a region for this metagame to be based on. Locations can be from anywhere from around the world that you believe will lead to interesting and creative Ideas. Submissions can range from countries like Mexico, a region such as the Sahara Desert, or maybe a collection of states, like New England. Submissions should include a small explanation on why you think that location is a fitting place to draw inspiration from.
Antarctica
I believe Antarctica is a fantastic locale with unique biomes and wildlife that would really foster creativity. With biomes ranging from land covered in snow and ice to even more land covered in snow and ice, the diversity of Antarctica really begins to show. But wait, there’s more! Antarctica has a vast array of wildlife consisting of Penguins, Penguins, and Penguins. It’s just amazing how perfect Antarctica is for this project.

Texas
Ignoring the fact that it is hands down the best state, Texas has many qualities that lend itself to function well for this project. Texas has a surprisingly diverse range of biomes, with Mountains, Deserts, Forests, Swamps, Plains, Marshes, Scrubland, and Ocean locations all found throughout the state and the bordering Gulf of Mexico. This diversity leads to a surprisingly vast array of animals of all kinds calling Texas home, and the state’s proximity to Mexico leads to some surprisingly exotic creatures inhabiting it’s southern parts. Additionally, Texas has a wide array of legends and tall tales dating back to its old west days of cowboys and outlaws that could be used for inspiration. Lastly, The Lone Star State has a rich culture of sports and food that can also lend themselves to some incredible ideas.

Egypt

A long history on a continent with less attention (being from Africa, I'd like to change that) but with links to both Europe and the Middle East. Has links to multiple myths and legends from multiple cultures and has been inhabited by multiple cultures in the past. Is the site of the only Ancient Wonder still standing and has plenty of interesting archeology. It's got plenty of mythological creatures and its ancient religion had gods that were more animal-like than most religions. It has heavily influenced modern fiction. And it has a river of floodplains flowing through a massive desert.

India
India has a huge diversity to offer. It has the Himalayan mountain ranges, Thar Desert, Mangrove Forests, Rainforests, rivers, long coastline - Indian Ocean, two groups of islands. Summer heat, Ice cold mountains, Heavy monsoon rain. Many endemic animals (and plants) like The Nilgiri Tahr, White Tigers, Asiatic Lions, Asiatic Elephants, Lion Tailed Macaque and marine animals. Urban settlements of New Delhi, Mumbai and rural areas too. Different types of food - the Indian curry, spicy food, samosas. Monuments like The Taj Mahal, Qutub Minar and many forts. If we go into culture then it changes immensely between the states (and within the states too) each one having their own folktales.

Southeast Asia
Southeast Asia, including the peninsula and islands, contains some of the most diverse natural and human systems in the world. The tropical rainforest itself is considered to be more biologically rich than even the Amazon or Congo, due partially to its age; it is the most ancient rainforest on the planet, with its climate having been stable since the time around the extinction the the dinosaurs and unaffected by the ice ages. This area contains ancient cloud forests like those on Borneo, dry forests, sandy deserts in Vietnam, and the tropical seas teem with huge coral reefs, fishes, cetaceans, and more. The human cultures contain lots of folklore, lots of beliefs about ghosts and the supernatural to draw inspiration from.

Question: When designing new mons or revamping old ones, can we also make changes to existing moves and abilities? I've got a fakemon I designed a while ago that I'll be keeping in my pocket until we get to a good region for it, but two of the things that make it neat rely on a subpar move and a subpar ability getting buffed.
