Reserving Skarm

Skarmory @ Rocky Helmet / Safety Goggles
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Impish Nature
- Spikes
- Body Press / Brave Bird
- Toxic / Whirlwind
- Roost

Standard stuff don't mind me being so lazy and stealing this from the set compendium so lazily. We hard wall both and unlike steela we have reliable recovery in roost, which means we won't be getting worn down in the long run. We are also slower than malt, so we won't get Earthquaked while roosting. Even if the worst likely scenario(spored on the switch, 3 turns sleep = 2 Malt DD), we are still able to hang on and beat the duo easily.

+2 252+ Atk Pixilate Altaria-Mega Return vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Skarmory: 110-130 (32.9 - 38.9%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock

0 SpA Amoonguss Giga Drain vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Skarmory: 23-28 (6.8 - 8.3%) -- possibly the worst move ever

+6 252+ Def Skarmory Body Press vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Altaria-Mega: 186-219 (63.9 - 75.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

+6 252+ Def Skarmory Body Press vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Amoonguss: 181-214 (41.8 - 49.5%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Black Sludge recovery
Synthesis only have 8 pp, so it could be outstalled easily.

And because of Scarf it outspeeds.

So now for Amoonguss
252+ SpA Glaceon Blizzard vs. 252 HP / 88 SpD Amoonguss: 426-504 (98.6 - 116.6%) -- 93.8% chance to OHKO
252+ SpA Glaceon Ice Beam vs. 252 HP / 88 SpD Amoonguss: 350-414 (81 - 95.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Black Sludge recovery
Not are guaranteed KO like with malt but after any form of chip or rocks it will

Nihilego @ Power Herb
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 12 HP / 68 Def / 176 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Meteor Beam
- Sludge Bomb
- Grass Knot
- Thunderbolt / Stealth Rock / Toxic Spikes
the spread in set compendium is altered slightly since this spread has all of the same intended effects without having too much differences

Fire one meteor beam, consuming the power herb. Then send off waves of sludge. Beast boost increases speed after ko so sacking malt to meteor beam is useless unless they get super lucky.

+1 252 SpA Nihilego Meteor Beam vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Porygon-Z: 364-430 (117 - 138.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO

+1 252 SpA Nihilego Sludge Wave vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Altaria-Mega: 438-516 (150.5 - 177.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO

+1 252 SpA Nihilego Sludge Wave vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Porygon-Z: 288-340 (92.6 - 109.3%) -- 75% chance to OHKO

252 SpA Porygon-Z Discharge vs. 12 HP / 0 SpD Nihilego: 72-85 (19.8 - 23.4%) -- 32.4% chance to 4HKO after Stealth Rock

+1 252 SpA Adaptability Porygon-Z Discharge vs. 12 HP / 0 SpD Nihilego: 214-252 (59.1 - 69.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock

No way that get to dodge a ko, para with discharge, let it activate while clicking conversion and get high rolls on both hits and with stealth rock up right?

In theory, if they stay in with Mega Altaria to hit Earthquake. It isn't actually guaranteed you OHKO them with an unboosted Sludge Wave or Meteor Beam. Imagine losing your Nihilego because some one is crazy enough to stay in lol

you are mistaken, meteor beam boosts special attack, and we are faster than mega altaria, so the +1 sludge wave will hit first.

This is if you use Meteor Beam on Porygon Z, yes. If the matchup is Altaria Vs Nihilego and you don't have the boost yet (ex. Altaria just fainted one of your Pokemon) what I said previously applies. Rarely, but sadly possible.

Yes, so that's why i never mentioned the situation, which is a following pattern in almost all of my BTC submissions. I would only include winnable situations, and occasionally mention how some situation might seem winnable but it's not, prob should have included this situation since in a common game nihilego threatens out mega altaria.

I assume you can't add any special attack to make it guaranteed either right? Then it wont be speed boosting.
