Groundium Z Protean Greninja :greninja: :groundium-z:

Greninja @ Groundium Z
Ability: Protean
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Dig
- Ice Beam
- Gunk Shot
- Spikes

Come in on anything except victini(for surprise factor after revealing to be protean), then click super effective moves, easy as that. Boots being the most popular set helps as it makes the victini more likely to be lured. Just make sure not to click the physical moves at -1

252 Atk Protean Greninja Gunk Shot vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Serperior: 330-390 (113.4 - 134%) -- guaranteed OHKO

252 Atk Protean Greninja Tectonic Rage (160 BP) vs. 80 HP / 0 Def Victini: 422-498 (116.8 - 137.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO

4 SpA Protean Greninja Ice Beam vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Landorus-Therian: 480-568 (125.6 - 148.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Aerodactyl-Mega @ Aerodactylite
Ability: Tough Claws
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Dual Wingbeat

Can out speed both monsters and smack them with Super-Effective moves to OHKO them (can run Adamant Nature to guarantee the OHKO from full health on Koko; however, that is not really viable as it is now slower than Mega Lopunny, but it's still an option:

252 Atk Aerodactyl-Mega Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Tapu Koko: 258-304 (91.8 - 108.1%) -- 50% chance to OHKO
252+ Atk Aerodactyl-Mega Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Tapu Koko: 282-334 (100.3 - 118.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Congratulations to WM2N for winning this week of Break this Core!

We saw some experimentation with Rain in the last 2 weeks of NDPL.
So we will find the best answer to the main rain core!
Our new core will be Pelipper + Mega-Swampert + Manaphy!

:ss/Pelipper: :ss/Swampert-Mega: :ss/Manaphy:

How will YOU break this core? Submissions end Friday!

Pelipper @ Damp Rock
Ability: Drizzle
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Scald
- Defog
- Roost
- U-turn

Swampert-Mega @ Swampertite
Ability: Damp
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Waterfall
- Flip Turn
- Earthquake
- Ice Punch

Manaphy @ Waterium Z
Ability: Hydration
EVs: 76 HP / 252 SpA / 180 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Tail Glow
- Rest
- Surf
- Energy Ball

Normalium Z Kartana (Speed Boosting)
:ss/Kartana:
Kartana @ Normalium Z :Normalium Z:
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 19 Atk
- Leaf Blade
- Giga Impact
- Sacred Sword
- Swords Dance

This Kartana set is probably one of the biggest threats to rain aside from Kyurem and the currently uncommon Rillaboom. Because of the now added HP EVs, Mega Swampert doesn't do nearly enough to Kartana with Earthquake for Greninja to clean up with Water Shuriken or Weavile with Ice Shard. Normalium Z grants Kartana the ability to break past Zapdos and Sacred Sword for Ferrothorn. One Swords Dance and all of rain perishes.

Kyurem @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 56 HP / 200 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Roost
- Substitute
- Freeze-Dry
- Earth Power

When any opposing rain team user sees this monster, they might as well forfeit if their Mega Swampert doesn't have Superpower. If the opponent sends out Pelipper at all, which they pretty much have to, just click sub and profit by spamming Freeze-Dry. After OHKOing both Pelipper and Mega Swampert, it can easily 2HKO the Manaphy, and can PP stall the common Gyro Ball Ferrothorn. The Knock-off from Ferro doesn't break sub so it's basically dead.

Latias @ Latiasite
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Calm Mind
- Thunder
- Ice Beam
- Roost

Come in on pelipper and set up calm mind. After a few boosts, you can easily deal with manaphy. Against Swampert, roost and calm mind until ice beam can kill it.

Calcs:
0 SpA Latias-Mega Thunder vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Pelipper: 564-664 (174 - 204.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO
0 SpA Latias-Mega Ice Beam vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Swampert-Mega: 79-94 (23.1 - 27.5%) -- 71.8% chance to 4HKO
0 SpA Latias-Mega Thunder vs. 76 HP / 0 SpD Manaphy: 212-250 (58.8 - 69.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ SpA Manaphy Hydro Vortex (175 BP) vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Latias-Mega in Rain: 138-162 (38 - 44.6%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
252 Atk Swampert-Mega Ice Punch vs. 248 HP / 8 Def Latias-Mega: 156-184 (42.9 - 50.6%) -- 2.3% chance to 2HKO
