Welcome to the AAA Monotype Mega-Thread!

(thanks Acast !)

This thread hosts the discussion, viability rankings, and sample teams for the metagame.

First of all, what is AAA?
AAA plays just like standard OU with a simple twist - your Pokemon can swap out their normal abilities for almost any ability of your choosing (banned abilities below)! This opens the door to a very unique metagame, and a host of fascinating sets.
Banned Abilities:
Note - You can still use these on their original users!
  • Aerilate
  • Arena Trap
  • Contrary
  • Fur Coat
  • Huge Power
  • Illusion
  • Imposter
  • Parental Bond
  • Protean
  • Pure Power
  • Shadow Tag
  • Simple
  • Speed Boost
  • Wonder Guard
Banned Moves:
  • Chatter

Unbanned Pokemon:
Cool, so what is Mono AAA?
Simple, Mono AAA is exactly as it sounds, it is a combination of AAA and Monotype! It strictly follows the AAA banlist along with our very own banlist to balance the meta.

Monotype AAA Banlist
In addition to the standard AAA bans, Pokemon that are deemed too strong for the metagame are manually banned. i.e. the Border Line Pokemon from standard tiers. These bans are overseen by the Mono AAA council.

Council:
We have a council of 4 very experienced mono AAA players. We will vote on what will or will not be banned. While you may give your opinions on why something is or isn't ban-worthy prior to the council's decision, decisions made by the council are final unless the council is convinced otherwise and you may not complain about the council's decision in the thread. If you think something ought to be banned or unbanned, contact me or one of the other council members with your concerns and we will take them into consideration. These are the council members:

Yaksok

1 True Lycan

Council logs:
1/5/2016: AAA Monotype has banned Slowbronite and Genesect, but kept Greninja and Charizardite X.

1/5/2016: discussing Charizardite X, Genesect, Slowbronite, Greninja
Monotype AAA Suspect Test Results
The Mono AAA Council has decided to unban Charizardite X with 4 votes to unban, 0 to ban. Genesect is also being banned with 3 votes towards ban and 1 for unban. Slowbronite had 2 votes on ban and two abstaining which results in a ban. Finally, Greninja has received a total of 4 unban votes.

Charizardite: Unban
Lots of mons with flash fire, levitate, unaware etc. The reasons why it was banned in regular monotype definitely do not apply here.
Genesect: Unban
While this mon was insanely unpredictable in regular Monotype, and it is even MORE unpredictable in AAA, I feel like with the diverse amount of abilities introduced to AAA, most teams can cope with Gene by switching in to it and revenging it.
Greninja: Unban
I mean, lol, way too weak, lots of priority in AAA.
Slowbronite: Ban
Yeah, this is insanely broken. Volt Absorb or anything -> regular fat calm mind mega bro stuff. Too much for fire, for sure, and many other types. Only one that seems broken.

zard: definitely unban this thing isnt good at all
genesect: this is too much imo its freedom of ability shits on the types it already beat even more.. ban
greninja: im with lax on this one, unban
slowbronite: i really dont think this is that bad... i need to test with it more but it seems fine, its not like stabmons where it gets broken moves, and here a lot of types get new toys to beat this with.. abstain

Zard: I'm all for unbanning this. Zard X isn't even that good in Mono AAA. Unban
Genesect: There's numerous abilities this thing can run which makes it difficult to play against. Ban
Greninja: I honestly see this thing's only relevant ability being Protean and it gets shitted on this tier Unban
Slowbronite: Agreeing with Afd on this one and abstaining since I haven't used this at all or played against anyone with Mega Slowbro

Charizardite: There are a lot more counters for this now. Unban
Genesect: This was a difficult decision, but ultimately its range of abilities coupled with its insane ability to gain momentum against most types is too much. Also it gets amazing support on both bug and steel. Ban
Greninja: Protean Greninja is still nice but not overpowered. Unban
Slowbronite: Has a lot of viable abilities pre - mega, and I still see the mega calm mind variant in particular being too much for some types. Ban

Happy Banning! :toast:

I know it's already been voted but I'd like say my opinion about something:

The Genesect's case:
Genesect is mainly used with Sheer Force, Download (scarf), Primordial Sea, Refrigerate (Espeed),...
I know, there is a lot of possibilities on how use it but I think it doesn't do it "broken".

By example, the Sheer Force set is very powerful but Gengar is better because of its speed, indeed, 99 is good but it isn't even good than others sweepers with 100 or more.

Genesect's bulk: We can't say its staying power is very good, and is mostly 0HKO by fast sweepers:
252 SpA Life Orb Sheer Force Thundurus Thunderbolt vs. 0 HP / 0- SpD Genesect: 281-331 (99.2 - 116.9%) -- 93.8% chance to OHKO
252 SpA Life Orb Sheer Force Gengar Shadow Ball vs. 0 HP / 0- SpD Genesect: 257-304 (90.8 - 107.4%) -- 43.8% chance to OHKO
Victini Desolate Land
252 Atk Life Orb Adaptability Garchomp Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Genesect: 296-351 (104.5 - 124%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 SpA Life Orb Sheer Force Landorus Earth Power vs. 0 HP / 0- SpD Genesect: 265-313 (93.6 - 110.6%) -- 62.5% chance to OHKO

Well, I won't give you all examples I've in head but trust me its 99 speed is really painful for it.

Well, if you use the Download Scarf:
252 SpA Genesect Ice Beam vs. 248 HP / 252+ SpD Zapdos in Strong Winds: 72-85 (18.7 - 22.1%) -- possible 5HKO
252 SpA Genesect Thunderbolt vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Heatran: 64-76 (16.5 - 19.6%) -- possible 7HKO after Leftovers recovery
Chansey
Snorlax sets up easily on it.
Ferrothorn Primordial see
Goodra AV/Regenator

For Espeed Regrigerate, it's similar case to Entei imo.

If it was unbanned in AAA, it should be for one reason.

To resume, I think Genesect was over-estimated because in AAA, a lot of things made it powerful instead broken.
I'd like the council thinks to have a period to test it, it should be the fairest way to see if it's broken or not.

This is a post focusing entirely on genesect on bug and NOT on steel.
While I agree with the other 3 in regards to AAA, I believe you are grossly overestimating the power and unpredictability of genesect in this format. The main reason Genesect was banned in OU was that it's ability, being of high quality, coupled with it's good coverage and excellent stats, made it incredibly hard to play against. In AAA, where good abilities are the norm, this is simply not the case. While genesect is still incredibly good on steel, it is pretty much outshined by volcarona in the special spectrum and heracross in the physical spectrum, except against types bug has trouble against. I completely disagree with AFD here, it's actually less powerful against the types it usually beats (psychic, dark). Also, a pokemon being difficult to play against is not grounds for a ban, Yaksok. I'll go into detail on type matchups in a moment, but first, let's take a look at abilities you would use on genesect.

Sheer Force + Life orb
Probably the one you'd most commonly see, with boltbeam + fillers (buzz, flamethrower, flashcannon) and/or rock polish. Note that u-turn is significantly weaker because it does not gain from sheer force and you don't get a download bonus on any of your moves. While the special attack side is slightly (12,7%) stronger than without a DL boost, you would not be carrying a scarf. Genesect being at an average speedtier with it's 99 base, would not do much without a scarf or rock polish, especially since it would not be carrying fire immunity. Obviously, it can't be carrying a drive if it wants to keep the life orb bonus as well. Furthermore, each type has a relatively easy way of dealing with this type of genesect, which doesn't overcentralize the team. I will go over examples below.

Adaptability
Worse than Sheer force in almost every aspect. While you can technically get stronger steel and bug moves, those types are pretty meh offensively, resisted by the large majority of types in one way or another.

Tough claws usually with Life orb for good Espeed damage.
A pretty good ability, as all of genesect's relevant physical moves are contact based. Note that this espeed is normal type, so this generally loses to most flying types.

Tinted Lens U-turn Spam woo!
This doesn't kill anything though, except it's weaknesses. It's mostly just annoying to deal with. Since the ability doesn't actually boost your damage, it's not much of a threat.

Refrigerate Extremespeed + Flamethrower/Blaze kick + U-turn/Shift gear + filler
Mainly designed to hose fast fliers and some dragons, gets walled by strong physically defensive pokes and fire types. Usually banded, and therefore slow, or shift gear and more easily wallable, especially due to lack of a damage boosting ability.

Flash Fire/Primordial Sea Acts as a defensive poke against fire types, not very strong in other matchups due to lack of a damage boosting ability.

Download + Choice scarf
Obvious, and very easy to wall in AAA

Now, onto the types

Normal
Genesect still gets completely walled by the defensive blobs of normal, no matter what set it runs.

FireThe only relevant sets are flash fire and primordial sea. Flash fire is broken by mold breaker if it's ever an issue for fire, and there's desolate sand to counter primordial sea if needed. Douse drive techno blast is the only real move you have to worry about, since gene's coverage against fire is poor. Most fire type have multiple pokemon faster than genesect though. While genesect helps bug in this matchup a bit, i wouldn't say it's broken for it. In fact, bug will almost always lose without a fire immune gene as it can't afford to run too many fire immunities without making the team uncompetitive in mono AAA as a whole.

FightingTough claws heracross and any nape set can OHKO without taking a hit, conkeldurr walls, touch claws pangoro will OHKO and threaten to OHKO practically any switch-in. There are very few pokes on a fighting team that genesect can actually beat in AAA.

Water

Since water conveniently gets immunity abilities to both of it's weaknesses, Genesect can't do a lot of damage here.water resists steel, ice and fire, so most of gene's typical coverage goes to waste.

Flyingrefrigerate genesect is pretty good here, but skarmory more often than not walls physical versions quite handily, and delta stream zapdos pretty much counters it entirely. The matchup in general is very much in flying's favor.

Grass
u-turn is powerful no matter what. Fire immune ferrothorn (a staple if i'm not mistaken) is decent against it, as it can severely cripple with twave and leech seed. Grasses options in this matchup are limited in general, as it's only real option to win is crippling all the threats on bug's team. volcarona and scarf heracross are significantly larger threats though, as they're a lot hard to wall.

Poison
Let's just get this out of the way. Sheer force gengar is better than sheer force genesect. Just flat out. Anyway, intimidate crobat is a huge threat to bug in AAA and bug pretty much straight up loses to it without a special-based genesect, barring stuff like prankster willo volcarona (lol), while galvantula is very much prone to getting OHKOed by it.

Electric
Delta stream zapdos will eat genesect alive. Genesect doesn't exactly shine in this matchup anyway, as it only has setup for it's physical moves, which aren't too effective against most electric pokemon.

Ground
refrigerate gene is the better one here, as gene is slower than lando-i, but ground gets some really good checks and walls for refrigerate espeed users, most notably thick fat gastrodon. Excadrill is still a huge threat, especially if it's packing flash fire, and it's often that the ground team packs a sand streamer. Genesect is definitely helpful in this amtchup, but again, not broken simply for providing ice coverage.

Psychic
Mold breaker victini is incredibly scary. Victini in general, really. The matchup is quite similar to how it was pre-ban in regular mono. psychic actually has some new outs in fact, most notably with a mew that can do literally anything in AAA. Obviously, u-turn genesect is powerful in this matchup, but it never was grounds for a ban, much like in regular monotype.

Rock
I'll be honest, i've never seen a rock mono in AAA before, so this is pure speculation. Let's assume the worst case scenario here: band tough claws iron head (because sandstorm) Generally, a lot of rock users have countermeasures against scizor, with stuff like fire punch rhyperior or megaggron. AV tyranitar isn't super uncommon either. Don't get me wrong, genesect is incredibly powerful in this matchup, as it's faster than almost all rock pokemon (fire fang aerodactyl lol) and terrakion being banned makes rock pretty weak overall. But rock generally doesn't stand much of a chance against bug because scarf tough claws heracross is practically unstoppable and scizor still exists (flash fire into mega being somewhat prevalent). I don't see rock beating bug in AAA with or without genesect, bar some good predicts or outplays.

Ice
Ice generally has the same issues rock has, except it's also weak to fire. Then again, this also gives it options for immunities, this being AAA and all. Ice does have the benefit of having a couple of very fast pokemon though, who can cripple genesect in the best case scenario. Unfortunately, ice has gotten the shaft with weavile, kyub and mamoswine being globally banned in AAA. Another option is to go for technician cloyster with shell smash and pray for 4+ hits lmao.

Bug Not much to say here, it can't really touch volcarona unless douse drive, which is obvious from the get-go.

Dragon
Refrigerate set is good here, as dragon only has 2 pokemon who can take a banded espeed and KO back with HP fire
252 Atk Choice Band Refrigerate Genesect Extreme Speed vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Kyurem: 175-206 (44.7 - 52.6%) -- 22.3% chance to 2HKO
252 Atk Choice Band Refrigerate Genesect Extreme Speed vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Kingdra: 168-198 (57.7 - 68%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
No other pokemon can guaranteed survive a refrigerate banded espeed, without any defensive EV investments or a berry. This is a problem dragon faces against not only with genesect, but also fighting and steel with lucario, fire with entei, ground and dragon with zygarde, and dragon again and flying, with dragonite. This is also the only case where i agree that genesect is somewhat centralizing, as you probably wouldn't otherwise run hp fire on kyurem or kingdra.

Ghost
Ghost is a type that has little to fear from genesect, having access to a multitude of willowispers and special tanks that can take care of genesect quite handily. scarfed chandelure is still a significant threat, and the always prevalent sheer force LO gengar.

Dark
Dark actually has quite a few good answers to genesect, notably pangoro and delta stream mandibuzz. There are also a couple of good prankster users; if you look at AFD's sample dark team for example, you'll find that it's quite well equipped for dealing with bug in general.

Steel
I feel like genesect has little to offer for bug vs steel, as there's bound to be something fire immune that flat out walls gene (and volcarona) and it's difficult to do much else.

FairyJust like in regular monotype, genesect is essentially a worse scizor, as it's crippled significantly more by thunderwave, due to not having access to a relevant priority move.

I honestly feel like globally banning genesect was a kneejerk reaction stemming from "I hated playing against it in regular mono, therefore ban". Genesect loses A LOT of luster in AAA, with a lot of mons gaining the same and higher powerlevels with their abilities. I have had 0 matches that were free wins thanks to genesect, it simply does not work this way in this format. I don't know if I have a say in this, but i would have the council reconsider their ban of genesect on bug in mono AAA.
That is all.

I'm just going to outline my reasons for voting to ban Genesect;

Its' ability to gain momentum is ridiculous. In most of the cases Inwhale mentioned above, he says that some mons can wall Genesect. In this case the opponent has to first find out the set before sending in the appropriate check. However the main point is that Genesect can easily put a big dent into these walls with U-Turn, it is essentially weakening its own checks.

It has insane coverage. I used a sheer force set with bug buzz + appropriate coverage moves and tbh there wasn't much even on water (an example of a type with access to a good wall core) which could wall it, and anything which does I can u-turn out on.

On bug, it is supported by mons such as mold breaker Galvantula to set up webs, which means any offensive checks to Genesect relying on outspeeding are neutered. Steel on the other hand has the defensive backbone to support it.

Unpredictability. What if I send out my special wall to attempt to wall Genesect, but instead it sets up a couple of shift gears and sweeps? Conversely, what if on dark I send out my phys def Mandibuzz to take a U-Turn but instead am hit by sheer force life orb bug buzz? There goes my heracross check.

A genesect can't put a big dent in anything unless the u-turn damage is boosted. One of my very first points was that bug is offensively a bad typing. It's super effective against a scant few pokemon, and in case of an u-turn, you can immediately tell what the set is based on damage dealt and whether gene took LO damage.
Also, literally every pivot in the game "weakens it's checks" when they pivot. That's what they do. expecting u-turn not to do damage to a switchin is ridiculous.

It's coverage is excellent, i'm not arguing that. what you are implying however, is that your genesect is faster than anything that checks it, and whatever the check will use will do practically no damage to what you send in. Also, please be less vague with your examples, what kind of water team did you face? Since mono AAA hasn't developed majorly as a meta yet, chances are you face quite a few teams that, while i'm not saying are bad per say, have not been fully optimized for the meta.

Sticky webs cancelling out checks to bug's mons has always been a case. The worst offender here is actually volcarona, as the best checks for it aren't airborne. I don't see how dealing with webs is a more noteworthy issue if genesect is also on the field. If you're facing bug, you generally have to take webs into account, unless you're playing flying. Unless you are implying that dealing with webs is easier if there's no genesect on the field. If so, please elaborate.

In my previous post, I posted the more noteworthy checks against genesect that work against most, if not all genesect builds, bringing examples of worst possible cases for the genesect build to be. I know the the final few types do not go so in-depth (I can only comment on my own experiences, so there are a few types I've faced against less, or in rock's case, never), but if you'd like, i could bring specific examples of what i would do when facing a genesect as any type, without having to sacrifice my whole team or whatever.
Also, scouting out a set for a pokemon with a movepool as diverse as genesect's, with a wall that's only strong against one attack type is generally poor play, especially if it's your only answer to another pokemon. There are better ways to do that, again, without sacrificing win conditions.

Like the title says, it's a them team who is based on 2 Pokemon with an weather ability: Roserade and Ferrothorn.

The rising sun (Roserade) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Desolate Land
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Weather Ball
- Solar Beam
- Sludge Bomb
- Dazzling Gleam

Watering Can (Ferrothorn) @ Leftovers
Ability: Primordial Sea
EVs: 248 HP / 88 Def / 172 SpD
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Stealth Rock
- Leech Seed
- Protect
- Gyro Ball

With this core I can control the weather, for grass type, it helps mainly for counter Fire moves. Even if Roserade is really a good Pokemon with this ability like it learns Weather Ball (100BP Fire move under sun) and SolarBeam.
It's clearly one of my sweeper in this team. Sludge Bomb is for another STAB move and Dazzling Gleam is against Dragon/Dark type even if it may replaced by Extrasensory.
Ferrothorn has a classic role in addition of check fire moves: set up rocks. Ferro is very important because with Primordial Sea, it's the best grass counter for Entei Refrigerate as it is able to tank Espeed/Frustration and cancel fire move.It was the first thing I've thought to build a grass team.

→ Next this core, I wanted put my favorite offensive Prankster Pokemon in AAA: Breloom.

Morphée (Breloom) @ Leftovers
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Spore
- Substitute
- Drain Punch
- Seed Bomb

Spore and Sub in priority are very interesting for its playstyle. It can set up against support Pokemon and it's my Snorlax (Poison Heal Curse) counter.
When you face it, you should let fall asleep one Pokemon to no be annoyed by this cute Breloom (Or use Magic Bounce Pokemon).
Drain Punch is to recover faster as possible and Seed Bomb for another STABmove. You can replace Drain Punch by Focus Punch, it's a good alternative.

→ Now, I had to think about one counter for Flying type, I had many options (like we're in AAA, choice are high), I doubted between Shiftry and Leafeon (Only viable Grass Pokemon with Refrigerate/Quick Attack) but I choose to run Shiftry to have 2 priorities move and Psychic immunity to complete Roserade.

Fresh Mint (Shiftry) @ Life Orb
Ability: Refrigerate
Happiness: 0
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Frustration
- Sucker Punch
- Quick Attack
- Knock Off

Shiftry is the nightmare of Zapdos and another Flying and another Dragon, with Quick Attack it may 0HKO (56.5%) Landorus, 0HKO Zapdos (with Frustration), ..., to resume, it makes decent damage.
It's the priority move user of this team.

→ But, the problem is Desolate Land Pokemon who are sent in front of Ferrothorn, to be able to keep it, I needed a solution. Ice was an issue too so Cradily Thick Fat shined in my eyes.

Stony Flower (Cradily) @ Leftovers
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 248 HP / 160 Def / 100 SpD
Careful Nature
- Recover
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
- Curse

With this spread, I was assured to live on a switch with it against Fire moves boosted by Sunny weather. Resist to Fake Out / Frustration Sneasel LO Refrigerate,...
By example, Victini V-Create Desolate Land makes 50% if it's a max roll. So I can easily set up against that.
With its good bulk, it has a role of pivot.

→ After look Pokemon I already had, I understood Mew Prankster and others WoW user in addition of Fighting Pokemon was a real threat for me, so I decided to chose Ghost/Grass Type with Magic Bounce to support my team.

Hell vegetable (Gourgeist-Super) @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Bounce
EVs: 248 HP / 120 Def / 140 SpD
Impish Nature
- Will-O-Wisp
- Leech Seed
- Phantom Force
- Synthesis

Gourgeist is definitely a pivot and a fighting counter, it huge bulk helps me for that reason.
Phantom Force is the STABmove to hit Pokemon and recover some life when I used Leech Seed before.
It can easily resist to Knock Off and burn its opponent.

I know some people will dislikes this team because it isn't enough offense but I really enjoyed build it with this Sun/Rain them.

Here some replays (I forgot to save 3 replays against others types, sorry, I will try to add more soon):

suicune and snorlax have both been banned jsyk

dusk raimon

Banned deucer.
Since this thread is kinda dead and aerilate was just unbanned in aaa, resulting in the quickban of dragonite and the likely ban of noivern, I wanted to nominate it for a ban. In regular aaa there was a reason aerilate was banned instead of the other ates, and this was because of how there were far less abusers for the other ates, and none of them were as good at abusing said ates, as the abusers of aerilate were. For example Noivern has very few counters, in total about 2, which are regenvest melo, chansey and diancie, the latter can be beaten by running steel coverage such as hp steel, and with rocks up melo struggles to switch in. Here is a sample set for noivern, which is one of the main abusers of aerilate. Aerilate is also easily abused by things such as lando-I/T and almost every other offensive flying type with decent attack or special attack and access to a normal move.

Noivern @ Choice Specs
Ability: Aerilate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Boomburst
- Hidden Power [Steel]
- Heat Wave
- U-turn

In terms of actual mono AAA, the reasoning behind why this should be banned is similar to why gale wings is banned. It is easily spammable and just makes bug and grass teams irrelevant. Also on noivern in particular it is incredibly hard to switch in safely to it without getting 2hkoed, because of its good speed and great base power move which becomes stab, boom burst. Nothing on Grass and bug can switch in without getting 2hkoed, and it can sweep through grass and bug teams easily once rocks are up, much the same as gale wings pokemon could.

grass teams

252 SpA Choice Specs Aerilate Noivern Boomburst vs. 252 HP / 168 SpD Ferrothorn: 277-327 (78.6 - 92.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

252 SpA Choice Specs Aerilate Noivern Boomburst vs. 248 HP / 144 SpD Mega Venusaur: 552-650 (152 - 179%) -- guaranteed OHKO

252 SpA Choice Specs Aerilate Noivern Boomburst vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Assault Vest Tangrowth: 524-620 (129.7 - 153.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO

bug teams

252 SpA Choice Specs Aerilate Noivern Boomburst vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Forretress: 546-643 (154.2 - 181.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO

252 SpA Choice Specs Aerilate Noivern Boomburst vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Galvantula: 546-643 (194.3 - 228.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO

252 SpA Choice Specs Aerilate Noivern Boomburst vs. 248 HP / 200 SpD Mega Scizor: 300-354 (87.4 - 103.2%) -- 93.8% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

and this is on bulky mzor which i haven't seen on bug once.

Apart from noivern another possible abuser could be landorus-T to replace dragonite as a band aerilate user or entei or any other mon with espeed. Here are a few other mons which abuse aerilate and their possible sets.

Entei @ Life Orb
Ability: Aerilate
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Sacred Fire
- Howl
- Stone Edge
- Extreme Speed

Landorus-Therian @ Choice Band/Choice Scarf
Ability: Aerilate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Return
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Stone Edge

These are just some of the mons which abuse aerilate in different ways, and because of the nature and type that aerate changes moves to, it is far more dangerous than other ate abilities, and worse for the meta in my mind because it effectively does the same thing that gale wings does in making some types irrelevant, and having far more potent, and many more, abusers than other abilities similar to it, or just in general.
