Mienshao

Mienshao can run taunt on LO sets. With taunt, Mienshao can be used as a pivot, shutting down switch ins such as Gligar and Cofagrigus and U-turning out as they switch. This can be very helpful on offensive teams looking for quick momentum. However, running taunt also forces you to either forfeit Fake Out, or a coverage move such as Stone Edge or Hidden Power [Ice].

If Mienshao is using Reckless, which it shouldn't, then it should probably be using a set like this:
Mienshao@Choice Band
252 attack, 252 speed
Hi Jump Kick, Stone Edge, U- turn, filler move

Gligar can also U-turn out, and Cofagrigus is mostly seen as an offensive Trick Room sweeper, meaning that STAB Shadow Ball is going to hurt the swith in. Or a coverage move.

A taunted Cofagrigus has no business staying in. Even offensive Trick Room sets will generally not deal much damage to its switch ins without a nasty plot boost. As for Gligar carrying U-turn, its really a guessing game weather they will carry it or not. Most stall and bulky offense teams will prefer toxic, whereas offensive and balanced teams will generally prefer U-turn on Gligar.

True. But stall and bulky offense are almost nonexistent in UU, due to the effectiveness of spike stacking HO. Other than that, true.

Mienshao can also very easily break through the CeleTran core with the coombination of hi jump kick and U-Turn which is a massive boon for an Ou Team that struggles with stall.

Uh, Unitas, this is a UU discussion about Mienshao, not OU.

Also, you should never use a Choice Banded Mienshao when it has Regenerator in combination with Life Orb. It should never really even enter the discussion when it's inferior compared to the Life Orb set. Reckless is a useful ability for Scarf Mienshao for revenging things you can't do with Regenerator Scarf, such as Raikou, Kingdra, and Flygon, so no, it's not a bad ability on Mienshao at all.

Taunt does not shut down Gligar at all, and Mienshao is better off heavily damaging Gligar with HP Ice instead of maybe getting a free switch in on a Taunted Gligar (which probably won't have the same payoff as denting Gligar with a LO HP Ice). Also, for the last time, Fake Out is a TERRIBLE option for Mienshao, because all you do is grant free switch ins, and it provides pitiful damage output unless the thing you're up against is a Sharpedo. You also give up a coverage move in Stone Edge or HP Ice, both which are useful for hitting common switch ins.

The main thing taunt accomplishes is shutting down bulky ghost-types such as Cofagrigus and Dusclopes. Its also enough to stop Gligar from getting free SR or badly poisoning something on your team. It can also be a good answer to smashpass. I am done discussing taunt Mienshao.
