Mewtwo is a threatening setup sweeper thanks to its good Special Attack, colorful movepool, access to Nasty Plot, and ability to sweep opposing teams using Dynamax. Mewtwo is a niche Dynamax sweeper however, as it is forced out by Pokemon like Calyrex-S, fast Zacian-C, and Lunala. Nasty Plot can be used on Pokemon it can force out such as Eternatus, Necrozma-DM, and Ferrothorn. Psystrike is its main STAB that allows it to do decent damage against Zekrom, Reshiram and Kyurem-W, and also used to take care of Special Defensive walls like Blissey and Ho-Oh. Psystrike when Dynamaxed allows Mewtwo to summon Psychic Terrain which allows it to beat Marshadow. Thunder allows Mewtwo to do major damage to Kyogre, especially Calm Mind variants, and Yveltal. Fire Blast is for Steel-types such as Ferrothorn, Necrozma-DM, and Zacian-C. Recover can be used over Fire Blast in order to keep Mewtwo healthy, and used verus Pokemon that it forces out like Necrozma-DM and Zygarde-C. Leftovers is used to give passive recovery, while Life Orb is used to get more damage output. Leftovers is the perferred item to help keep Mewtwo healthy thoughout the match and not get worn down from recoil. A Timid nature with 252 Speed EVs enable Mewtwo to outpace a Jolly nature Marshadow and Speed tie with offensive Eternatus.

Mewtwo best fits on hyper offensive or bulky offensive teams. Shuckle is a much needed partner if running Hyper Offensive, as it can provide Sticky Web and Stealth Rock support in order to make Mewtwo outpace faster foes such as Jolly Zacian-C, Calyrex-S, and Choice Scarf Kyogre and make it easier to sweep. Yveltal is a much needed partner, as it it come in on Marshadow's and Calyrex-S attacks, and take care of these. Yveltal can also take care of Lunala, which is another huge threat to Mewtwo, with Knock Off or Dark Pulse. Fairy-types such as Zacian-C and Xerneas also serve for good partners for Mewtwo as either them as they can threaten Dark-types such as Yveltal and Tyranitar out with their fearsome attacks. Necrozma-DM is a great partner for Mewtwo as it can serve as an Xerneas check while coming in on Zacian-C's attacks. Eternatus is a good partner for Mewtwo due to it coming in on Kyogre's attacks and use Toxic Spikes to spread around status to the opposing team to wear them down and make it easier for Mewtwo to sweep. Ferrothorn also provides a great check to Kyogre, while dealing with Xerneas and setting Spikes to weaken walls like Zygarde-C for Mewtwo. Pokemon like Marshadow and Calyrex-S also pairs well with Mewtwo, as these can threaten and take care of Lunala with their powerful Ghost-type STAB attacks. They also appreciate Mewtwo nailing Yveltal with Thunder, giving them an easier time to sweep. Lunala is a great teammate that can help out against a boosted Zekrom, Groudon, and Ditto.

[SET COMMENTS]

Mewtwo is a great stallbreaker thanks to Taunt, Pressure, and its great Speed stat, capable of defeating prominent walls in AG like Eternatus, Necrozma-DM, and Blissey. Will-O-Wisp allows Mewtwo to cripple physical attackers such as Necrozma-DM, Groudon, and Zekrom. Taunt is to cut off walls such as Eternatus, Giratina, and Blissey from recovery, stop Stealth Rock or Leech Seed from Ferrothorn, Defog from Ho-Oh or Giratina, and useful against setup sweepers such as Zygarde-C, Rayquaza, and Groudon to prevent them from setting up. Recover keeps Mewtwo healthy throughout the match, and against burned physical attackers like Groudon and Zekrom. Ice Beam can hit Yveltal and do major damage to Zygarde-C. Psystrike is an alternative over Ice Beam, as it can take down walls such as Eternatus and Blissey while wearing down physical attackers such as Ho-Oh. 252 HP EVs are used to give Mewtwo as much bulk as possible in order to take on physical attackers such as Groudon, Zygarde-C, and Zekrom. 130 Speed EVs are used in order to outpace Modest Eternatus and Adamant Marshadow.

Mewtwo best fits on balance teams that appreciates a check to walls like Eternatus and Blissey or physical attackers that can be problematic for the team such as Zygarde-C and Groudon. Yveltal is a much needed partner to check Calyrex-S, Lunala, and Marshadow. Kyogre checks such as Ferrothorn and Eternatus are great partners for Mewtwo, as they can both come in on Kyogre's attacks, an provide entry hazards to wear down the opposing team. Necrozma-DM can check Zacian-C and Xerneas, which can beat Mewtwo, while also providing Stealth Rock and Knock Off to help wear down opposing Pokemon. Fairy-types such as Zacian-C and Xerneas are great partners for Mewtwo, as these can take care of troublesome Dark-types like Yveltal and Tyranitar while also taking care of Marshadow. Zygarde-C is a good partner for Mewtwo, as it can check Zacian-C if it is lacking Play Rough, Ho-Oh, and use Dynamax to use Max Wyrmwind to check Groudon. Kyogre is good to check Yveltal and take care of Ho-Oh that can cause problems for Mewtwo if it gets burnt by Scared Fire. Kyogre appreciates Mewtwo shutting down checks like Eternatus and Blissey. Calyrex-S is great to steamroll mid-game once Mewtwo cripples physical attacks such as Zekrom, Groudon, and Zygarde-C, while taking down Ho-Oh after some chip.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Ice Beam and Shadow Ball can be used over Fire Blast to enable Mewtwo to beat Zygarde-C and Lunala, respectively, but it is not worthwhile due to not beating prominent Steel-types such as Necrozma-DM, Zacian-C, and Ferrothorn. Hurricane can be used on the Nasty Plot set to give Mewtwo Speed boosts under Dynamax, letting it outpace Pokemon such as Zacian-C, Calyrex-S, and Choice Scarf Kyogre. However, Fire Blast and Thunder offer much more valuable utility, making it quite hard to fit.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Dark-types**: Specially defensive Yveltal can tank an unboosted Thunder from Mewtwo due to its good bulk and take care of Mewtwo with its Dark-type attacks. However, it is OHKOed by +2 Thunder and Max Lightning, making it an unreliable check. Offensive Yveltal can force out Mewtwo with Sucker Punch, but it struggles to switch into Thunder or Fire Blast. Tyranitar can also take care of Mewtwo easily through its typing, good bulk boosted by sand, and STAB moves in Foul Play and Stone Edge.Urshifu-S can OHKO Mewtwo with Sucker Punch, but struggles to reliably switch into Fire Blast or Thunder from Nasty Plot sets, or Will-O-Wisp from stall Mewtwo. .

**Ghost-types**: Calyrex-S can outpace and OHKO Mewtwo with Astral Barrage. Marshadow can use Shadow Sneak to do major damage or OHKO Mewtwo after some chip damage or setting up with Bulk Up, but Mewtwo's Psychic Terrain invalidates Sucker Punch. Lunala can also threaten Mewtwo with being able to take any attack from Mewtwo, and take care of it with its Ghost-type STAB attack. However, Lunala is a rather shaky check to Mewtwo once it has set up Nasty Plot and Dynamaxed.

**Ditto**: Ditto is particularly very threatening to Nasty Plot Mewtwo, as it can copy its Nasty Plot boosts, outspeed it with Choice Scarf, and OHKO it with Max Flare or Max Lightning under Dynamax. However, Dynamaxed Mewtwo can easily defeat Ditto by tanking any attack from it at full health, proceeding to OHKO it back.

**Faster Pokemon**: Faster Pokemon such as Zacian-C and Choice Scarf Kyorge can OHKO Mewtwo with their STAB attacks.

**Strong physical Attacks**: Strong attacks from Zekrom, Groudon, and Zygarde-C can give offensive Mewtwo some trouble, as these can tank an unboosted attack from it, and 2HKO Mewtwo with their powerful attacks or OHKO after some chip damage, however, stall Mewtwo can take care of these.

[We've decided to change most of the set for NP Mewtwo. Thunder deals with specially defensive Yveltal much better, while Recover is slashed over Fire Blast + Leftovers is slashed over Life Orb in order to set up more easily]

[SET COMMENTS]

Mewtwo is a threatening setup sweeper thanks to its colorful movepool, access to Nasty Plot, and ability to sweep opposing teams using Dynamax. [There should also be emphasis on why Mewtwo is a niche Dynamax sweeper, i.e it's forced out by common Pokemon like Calyrex-S, Zacian-C, and Lunala] Nasty Plot can be used on Pokemon it can force out such as Eternatus and Ferrothorn. Psystrike is its main STAB that allows it to do decent damage against Groudon, Reshiram and Kyurem-W. Psystrike is used to take care of Special Defensive walls like Blissey and Ho-Oh [Combine this with the first point about Psystrike]. Psystrike when Dynamaxed allows Mewtwo to summon Psychic Terrain which allows it to beat Marshadow. [Add a sentence about Thunder here] Fire Blast is for Steel-types such as Ferrothorn, Necrozma-DM, and Excadrill Zacian-C [Much more relevant example]. Hurricane is needed so when Mewtwo does use Dynamax, it can get a Speed boost that enables it to outpace Zacian-C and beat it with Fire Blast [Add why you would use Recover over Fire Blast]. A Timid nature with 252 Speed EVs enable Mewtwo to outpace a Jolly nature Marshadow and Speed tie with offensive Eternatus.

Mewtwo best fits on hyper offensive or offensive teams. Shuckle is a much needed partner if running Hyper Offensive, as it can provide Sticky Web and Stealth Rock support in order to make Mewtwo outpace faster foes such as Jolly Zacian-C, Calyrex-S, and Choice Scarf Kyogre the unboosted metagame, and make it easier to sweep. Yveltal is a much needed partner, as it it come in on Marshadow's and Calyrex-S attacks, and take care of these. Fairy-types such as Zacian-C and Xerneas also serve for good partners for Mewtwo as either them as they can threaten Dark-types such as Yvetal Yveltal and Tyranitar out with their fearsome attacks. Necozma-DM Necrozma-DM is a great partner for Mewtwo as it can serve as an Xerneas and Zacian check while coming in on Zacian-C's attacks. Eternatus is a good partner for Mewtwo due to it coming in on Kyogre's attacks and use Toxic Spikes to spread around status to the opposing team to wear them down and make it easier for Mewtwo to sweep.

- Add teammates that can deal with Lunala

[Ice Beam is preferred due to its ability to take on Zygarde-C much easier + make progress vs Yveltal]

[SET COMMENTS]

Mewtwo is a great stallbreaker thanks to Taunt and its great Speed stat. Recover keeps Mewtwo heathly healthy throughout the match, and is useful against burned physical attackers like Groudon and Zekrom while wearing them down with Psystrike. [Add a sentence about Ice Beam here] Psystrike is Mewtwo's only attack that another option over Ice Beam, as it can take down walls such as Eternatus and Blissey while wearing down burn physical attackers such as Groudon and Zygarde-C [Ice Beam deals with these anyway, add that Psystrike somewhat helps with Ho-Oh instead (if you find any other examples you can add them)]. 252 HP EVs are used to give Mewtwo as much bulk as possible in order to take on physical attackers such as Groudon, Zygarde-C, and Zekrom. 130 Speed EVs are used in order to outpace Modest Eternatus and Adamant Marshadow.

Mewtwo best fits on balance or more offesive [I don't think stalltwo would fit so well on an offensive team] teams who needs to check walls like Ethernatus Eternatus and Blissey or cripple physical attackers that can be problematic for the team such as Zygarde-C and Groudon. Yveltal is a much needed partner to check Calyrex-S, Lunala, and Marshadow. Kyorge Kyogre checks such as Ferrothorn and Eternatus are great partners for Mewtwo, as they can both come in on Kyogre's attacks, an provide entry hazards to wear down the opposing team. Necrozma-DM can check Zacian-C and Xerneas, which can beat Mewtwo, while also providing Stealth Rock and Knock Off to help wear down opposing Pokemon. Fairy-types such as Zacian-C and Xerneas are great partners for Mewtwo, as these can take care of troublesome Dark-types like Yveltal while also taking care of Marshadow. Zygarde-C is a good partner for Mewtwo, as it can check Zacian-C if it is lacking Play Rough, Ho-Oh, and use Dragon Tail to phaze out Groudon if it has set up with Swords Dance and Rock Polish, or Dynamax to use Max Wyrmwind to check Groudon act as a secondary check to Groudon. Kyogre is good to check Yveltal and take care of Ho-Oh that can cause problems for Mewtwo if it gets burnt by Scared Fire. [Add that it appreciates Mewtwo shutting down checks like Eternatus and Blissey] Calyrex-S is great to steamroll mid-game once Mewtwo cripples physical attacks such as Zekrom, Groudon, and Zygarde-C, while taking down Ho-Oh after some chip.

Necrozma-DM can check Zacian-C and Xerneas, which can beat Mewtwo, while also providing Stealth Rock and Knock Off support to help wear down opposing Pokemon. Kyogre appreciates Mewtwo shutting down its checks like Eternatus and Blissey. Calyrex-S is great to steamroll mid-game once Mewtwo cripples physical attacks such as Zekrom, Groudon, and Zygarde-C, while taking down Ho-Oh after some chip.

Other Options
=============

===================

**Dark-types**: Specially defensive Yveltal can tank an unboosted Thunder from Mewtwo due to its good bulk and take out care of Mewtwo with its Dark-type attacks. However, it is OHKOed by +2 Thunder and Max Lightning, making it an unreliable check. Offensive Yveltal can force out Mewtwo with Sucker Punch, but it struggles to switch into Thunder or Fire Blast. Tyranitar can also take care of Mewtwo easily through its typing, good bulk boosted by sand, and STAB moves in Foul Play and Stone Edge.Urshifu-S can OHKO Mewtwo with Sucker Punch, but struggles to reliably switch into Fire Blast or Thunder from Nasty Plot sets, or Will-O-Wisp from stallbreaker Mewtwo.

**Ghost-types**: Calyrex-S can outpace and OHKO Mewtwo with Astral Barrage. Marshadow can use Shadow Sneak to do major damage or OHKO Mewtwo after some chip damage or setting up with Bulk Up, but Mewtwo's Psychic Terrain invalidates Shadow Sneak Sucker Punch. Lunala can also threaten Mewtwo thanks to its ability with being able to take any attack from Mewtwo, and threaten take care of it with its Ghost-type STAB attack.

**Faster Pokemon**: Faster Pokemon such as Zacian-C, (AC) Pheromosa, (AC) and Choice Scarf Kyogre Kyorge can OHKO Mewtwo with their STAB attacks.

**Strong physical Attacks**: Strong attacks from Zekrom, Groudon, and Zygarde-C can give offensive Mewtwo some trouble, as they these can tank an unboosted attack from it, and 2HKO Mewtwo with their powerful attacks or OHKO after some chip damage, however, stall Mewtwo can take care of them these.
