Mega Latios functions as a strong special wallbreaker, thanks to its amazing Special Attack stat and impressive coverage. It also has a good Speed tier, notably outspeeding key threats such as Kartana, Garchomp, and Hydreigon. It also has great defensive utility that, thanks to its natural bulk and typing, lets it come in on threats like Kartana, Mega Charizard Y, and Heatran. However, despite its good coverage, Mega Latios struggles to fit all the moves it wants to have. Variants without Psychic struggle to break past Toxapex and Clefable cores, while ones with Psychic are walled by Slowking and Corviknight and can't consistently break through Tapu Fini. Furthermore, Mega Latios is susceptible to being Pursuit trapped by Weavile and Mega Tyranitar and struggles to break past the numerous Fairy- and Psychic-types that plague the tier, such as Mega Latias, Clefable, and Reuniclus. Psychic is Mega Latios’s main STAB option, letting it pressure foes like Toxapex and Clefable. Thunder can be used instead for its ability to 2HKO Slowking, Corviknight, and Tapu Fini while still maintaining the ability to hit Toxapex, although by forgoing Psychic, Mega Latios loses out on having a consistent STAB option against Clefable and Toxapex. Aura Sphere nails Steel- and Dark-types such as Heatran, Ferrothorn, Tyranitar, and Weavile. Ice Beam allows Mega Latios to be a consistent check to Grass- and Ground-types such as Rillaboom, Gliscor, Garchomp, and Serperior.

Mega Latios fits on bulky offense teams that appreciate its offensive presence alongside its defensive utility. Pokemon such as Ash-Greninja, Tapu Koko, and Kartana that appreciate Mega Latios pressuring common defensive staples such as Toxapex, Corviknight, and Tapu Fini work well with it. Steel-types such as Melmetal, Ferrothorn, and Corviknight are amazing partners because they can switch into the Ice-, Dragon-, and Fairy-type moves. In return, Mega Latios can pivot into Fire-, Ground-, and Fighting-type attacks. Entry hazard support from Greninja, Ferrothorn, and Landorus-T are greatly appreciated by Mega Latios, as entry hazards chip its checks, such as Tyranitar and Toxapex, into OHKO range. Pursuit support from Weavile and Tyranitar helps Mega Latios by removing bulky Psychic-types such as Reuniclus and Mega Latias, allowing it to make progress more easily. Magnezone is a terrific partner alongside Mega Latios, removing pesky Steel-types such as Corviknight, Ferrothorn, and Mega Scizor.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Mystical Fire is an option over Aura Sphere in order to hit Aegislash, Ferrothorn, Corviknight, and Mega Scizor harder, but leaves Mega Latios walled by Heatran. Draco Meteor can be used over Ice Beam to give Mega Latios a strong nuke, netting KOs on Mega Medicham and Mega Latias, as well as chipped Victini; however the Special Attack drop makes Mega Latios much less effective at wallbreaking and at checking Grass- and Ground-types. Substitute can also be used over Ice Beam to bypass status, but this reduces its longevity and means it has fewer coverage options. Earthquake can be used over Aura Sphere to allow Mega Latios to always KO Heatran, although it forces Mega Latios to use a Naive nature and does not hit Mega Tyranitar as hard. A set utilizing Calm Mind might seem appealing, but this role is better accomplished by its counterpart in Mega Latias due to the latter's superior bulk allowing for more setup opportunities.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Dark-types**: Pokemon such as Ash-Greninja, Tyranitar, and Weavile can easily force out Mega Latios with their STAB moves. Pursuit from the latter three can also consistently trap and KO Latios. However, all of these Pokemon have to fear Aura Sphere when switching in.

**Steel-types**: Steel-type Pokemon like Heatran, Mega Mawile, Mega Scizor, Aegislash, and Ferrothorn can easily force Mega Latios out with their strong STAB moves or cripple it with status. However, they fear its coverage options in Aura Sphere or Mystical Fire.

**Fairy-types**: Clefable, Tapu Lele, and Tapu Koko force out Mega Latios with their STAB moves, although they can be overpowered by repeated hits from Psychic.

**Special Walls**: Dedicated special walls such as Chansey, Blissey, and Gastrodon stonewall Mega Latios, as they are able to tank any of its moves, recover back any damage it deals to them, and punish it with a status move.

Mega Latios functions as a strong special wallbreaker, boasting impressive coverage, a solid Speed tier as well as great defensive capabilities. Mega Latios’ typing, bulk, and ability also allow it to check a plethora of terrifying wallbreakers, such as Kartana, Garchomp, Heatran, and Mega Charizard Y. Mega Latios functions as a strong special wallbreaker, thanks to its amazing Special Attack stat alongside its impressive coverage. It also has a fantastic Speed tier, notably outspeeding key threats such as Kartana, Garchomp, and Hydreigon. To top it off, it also comes with defensive utility, not only allowing it ample opportunity to get in on the field but also being able to switch into foes like Kartana, Mega Charizard Y, and Heatran. Good content, however i wanted to reword it and add a bit of additional information However, despite its good coverage Latios struggles to fit all the moves it wants to have; Variants (lowercase) without Thunder are walled by Corviknight and Slowking, and cant consistently break through Tapu Fini, while ones that opt for Psychic struggle to break past Toxapex and Clefable cores. move the sentences around to adhere to the order in which they're slashed on the set. While Aura Sphere lets it deal with Heatran, its unable to break through Mega Scizor and Mega Mawile, however forgoing Aura Sphere leaves it weak to Mega Gyarados. Mystical Fire variants to deal with Mega Scizor and Aegislash now are unable to touch Heatran. This leaves Mega Latios at a conundrum, where it will always be walled by something no matter which move it picks cannot hit everything it wants to hit. Furthermore, Mega Latios is extremely susceptible to being Pursuit trapped by Weavile and Mega Tyranitar, and struggles to break past the numerous Fairy- and Psychic-types that plague the tier, such as Mega Latias, Clefable, and Reuniclus. Psychic is Mega Latios’ main STAB option, letting it pressure defensive cores utilising both foes like Toxapex and Clefable. Thunder can also be used is chosen over Thunderbolt no need to mention this for its ability to 2HKO Slowking, and also allows Mega Latios to pressure Corviknight, Tapu Fini and Slowking, while still mantaining the ability to hit Toxapex. Although by forgoing Psychic, Mega Latios loses out on having a spammable STAB option. Aura Sphere nails Steel- and Dark-types such as Heatran, Ferrothorn, Tyranitar, and Weavile. Ice Beam allows Mega Latios to be a consistent check to Grass- and Ground-types such as Rillaboom, Gliscor, Garchomp, and Landorus-T Serperior. Lando just U-turns on you

Mega Latios fits ion bulky offense teams that appreciate its offensive presence alongside its defensive utility ability to be a solid defensive check to the likes of Mega Charizard Y, Kartana, and Garchomp, whilst steel being a terrifying wallbreaker. Pokemon such as Ash-Greninja, Tapu Koko, and Kartana, that appreciate Mega Latios pressuring common defensive staples such as Toxapex, Clefable, Corviknight, Amoonguss, and Tapu Fini work well with it. Due to Mega Latios’ defensive qualities, Steel-types such as Melmetal, Ferrothorn, and Corviknight are amazing partners, due to them absorbing switching into the Ice-, Dragon-, and Fairy-type moves directed at it. In return, Mega Latios takes can pivot into the Fire-, Ground-, and Fighting-type attacks directed at them. hmu on disc about this later but i genuinely cannot think of a single fighting-type attack which tios switches into, if we dont come to a conclusion about this just nuke it from the list. Hazard support from the likes of Greninja, Ferrothorn, and Landorus-T are greatly appreciated by Mega Latios, as they vastly bolster its wallbreaking capabilities. Pursuit support from Weavile and Tyranitar help Mega Latios by removing bulky Psychic-types such as Reuniclus and Mega Latias, allowing it to wallbreak make progress with more easiere. Magnezone is a terrific partner alongside Mega Latios, removing pesky Steel-types such as Corviknight, Ferrothorn, and Mega Scizor. the word pesky makes me cringe so unbelievably much, there is nothing wrong with the usage off it however i will refuse to check your analyses if you continue using it

**Dark-type Pokemon**: Pokemon such as Ash-Greninja, Weavile, Tyranitar, and Mega Tyranitar can easily force out Mega Latios with their STAB moves, and either outspeed it or are bulky enough to take an Aura Sphere. However, all of these Pokemon have to fear Aura Sphere when switching in, barring Tyranitar, which only needs some chip to get KO'd.

**Special Walls**: Dedicated special walls such as Chansey, Blissey, and Gastrodon stonewall Mega Latios, being able to take any of its moves and recover back the damage dealt, and punish it with status moves.

While Aura Sphere lets it deal with Heatran and Tyranitar, it's unable to break through Mega Scizor and Mega Mawile (You mention Mega Sciz and Maw in the checks and counters section, so it shouldn't be mentioned here as it somewhat disrupts the flow of the paragraph and you already talk about what Aura Sphere hits later in this paragraph). Furthermore, Mega Latios is susceptible to being Pursuit trapped by Weavile and Mega Tyranitar (remove comma) and struggles to break past the numerous Fairy- and Psychic-types that plague the tier, such as Mega Latias, Clefable, and Reuniclus. Ice Beam allows Mega Latios to be a consistent check to Grass- and Ground-types such as Rillaboom, Gliscor, Garchomp, and Serperior. Roost provides longevity for Mega Latios to function as a solid wallbreaker in the long term. (little subjective thing here, but I don't think you really need to explain what Roost does in this context)

Mega Latios functions as a strong special wallbreaker, thanks to its amazing Special Attack stat and impressive coverage. Would it be worth it to merge these two sentences? i think its make the whole thing flow better and avoids the repeat of "it also has..." It also has a good Speed tier, notably outspeeding key threats foes such as Kartana, Garchomp, and Hydreigon. It also has great defensive utility, thanks to its natural bulk i think this reads weirdly, everything has natural bulk so it doesnt imply that M-tios is naturally bulky and typing that which lets it come in on switch into foes threats like Kartana, "threats... Kartana" being repeated twice is weird, i recommend swapping one of the Kartana mentions for something else (as a ndqc member i am suggesting swapping the second one for Serperior) Mega Charizard Y, and Heatran. However, despite its good coverage, Mega Latios struggles to fit all the moves it wants to have; variants without Psychic it struggles to break past Toxapex and Clefable cores, while ones that opt for running Psychic over Thunder makes it are walled by Slowking and Corviknight and struggles to can't consistently break through Tapu Fini. im on the fence about these changes, i think they improve the flow but are generally unessecery? also you should have "running psychic over thunder" before "without psychic" to reflect the slashes on the set Furthermore, Mega Latios is also susceptible to being Pursuit trapped by Weavile and Mega Tyranitar and it struggles to break past the numerous Fairy- and Psychic-types that plague the tier, such as Mega Latias, Clefable, and Reuniclus. Psychic is Mega Latios’s main STAB option, letting it pressure foes like Toxapex and Clefable. Thunder can be used for its ability to 2HKO Slowking, Corviknight, and Tapu Fini while still maintaining the ability to hit Toxapex. Although by forgoing Psychic, Mega Latios loses out on having a spammable STAB option against the likes of Clefable and Toxapex. this felt like fluff Aura Sphere nails lets it hit Steel- and Dark-types that resist Psychic, such as Heatran, Ferrothorn, Tyranitar, and Weavile. im unsure if "that resist psychic" makes the sentence flow worse Meanwhile, Ice Beam allows Mega Latios to be a consistently check to Grass- and Ground-types such as Rillaboom, Gliscor, Garchomp, and Serperior.

Mega Latios fits on bulky offense teams that appreciate its offensive presence alongside its defensive utility. Pokemon such as Ash-Greninja, Tapu Koko, and Kartana that appreciate which enjoy im almost certain there's a better way of wording this but i cant think of anything Mega Latios pressuring common defensive staples such as Toxapex, Corviknight, and Tapu Fini work well with it. Steel-types such as Melmetal, Ferrothorn, and Corviknight are amazing partners, (ac) due to them switching into the Ice-, Dragon-, and Fairy-type moves, that threaten Latios. In return, Mega Latios can pivot into Fire-, Ground-, and Fighting-type attacks that are directed at them. Entry hazard support from the likes of Greninja, Ferrothorn, and Landorus-T are is fantastic greatly appreciated by Mega Latios, as entry hazards it chips down Mega Latios' its checks such as Tyranitar and Toxapex this is just blatantly untrue, Toxapex is mentioned as something Latios beats in the previous paragraph, replace it with something else (as nd qc im suggesting Heatran) making it harder to switch into into OHKO range. Pursuit support from Weavile and Tyranitar help this could be "make progress for Mega Latios" right? Mega Latios by removing bulky Psychic-types such as Reuniclus and Mega Latias, allowing it to make progress more easily spam Psychic more freely i assume this is what making progress was referring to?. Magnezone is a terrific partner alongside Mega Latios, removing pesky Steel-types that check Latios such as Corviknight, Ferrothorn, and Mega Scizor.

Mystical Fire is an option over Aura Sphere in order to hit Aegislash, Ferrothorn, Corviknight, and Mega Scizor harder, but leaves it walled by Heatran. its not really walled it just struggles to beat it? Draco Meteor can be used over Ice Beam to give Mega Latios a strong nuke powerful attack, netting KOes on the likes of Mega Medicham and Mega Latias, as well as a chipped Victini; however the Special Attack drop makes Mega Latias much less effective at wallbreaking and makes Mega Latios less consistent at checking Grass- and Ground-types. Substitute can also be used over Ice Beam to bypass status but the lack of a third coverage move makes it significantly less threatening this reduces its longevity and means it has less coverage options. i wouldn't say it rlly reduces its longevity Earthquake allows Mega Latios to always OHKO Heatran, although it forces Mega Latios to use a Naive nature, sacrificing its bulk and does not hit Mega Tyranitar as hard. A set utilizing Calm Mind might seem appealing, to boost Latios' Special Attack and make it harder to switch into. However, Mega Latias does this better, as its superior bulk allows it to find although this role is largely outdone by its counterpart in Mega Latias due to its superior bulk allowing for more setup opportunities.

**Dark-type Pokemon**: Pokemon such as Ash-Greninja, Tyranitar, and Weavile can easily force out Mega Latios with their STAB moves. Pursuit from the latter threewo can also consistently trap and KO Latios. However, all of these Pokemon have to fear Aura Sphere when switching in.

**Fairy-type Pokemon**: The likes of Clefable, Tapu Lele, and Tapu Koko force out Mega Latios with their STAB moves, although they can be overpowered by repeated hits from Psychic. repeating "force out" three times makes it repetive to read, please change one or two of them to something else

**Special Walls**: Dedicated special walls such as Chansey, Blissey, and Gastrodon stonewall Mega Latios, being able to take any of its moves, recover back the damage dealt, and punish it with status moves.

Mega Latios functions as a strong special wallbreaker, thanks to its amazing Special Attack stat and impressive coverage. It also has a good Speed tier, notably outspeeding key threats such as Kartana, Garchomp, and Hydreigon. It also has great defensive utility that, thanks to its natural bulk and typing that, (add comma) lets it come in on threats like Kartana, Mega Charizard Y, and Heatran. However, despite its good coverage, Mega Latios struggles to fit all the moves it wants to have. (semicolon->period) Variants without Psychic struggle to break past Toxapex and Clefable cores, while ones that opt for with Psychic are walled by Slowking and Corviknight and can't consistently break through Tapu Fini. Thunder can be used instead for its ability to 2HKO Slowking, Corviknight, and Tapu Fini while still maintaining the ability to hit Toxapex, (period->comma) although by forgoing Psychic (remove comma) means that Mega Latios loses out on having a spammable consistent STAB option against the likes of Clefable and Toxapex.

Steel-types such as Melmetal, Ferrothorn, and Corviknight are amazing partners due to them switching because they can switch (flow thing) into the Ice-, Dragon-, and Fairy-type moves. In return, Mega Latios can pivot into Fire-, Ground-, and Fighting-type attacks. Entry hazard support from the likes of Greninja, Ferrothorn, and Landorus-T are greatly appreciated by Mega Latios, as entry hazards chip its checks, (add comma) such as Tyranitar and Toxapex, (add comma) into OHKO range.

Other Options
=============

Mystical Fire is an option over Aura Sphere in order to hit Aegislash, Ferrothorn, Corviknight, and Mega Scizor harder, but leaves it Mega Latios walled by Heatran. Draco Meteor can be used over Ice Beam to give Mega Latios a strong nuke, netting KOes on the likes of Mega Medicham and Mega Latias, as well as a chipped Victini; however the Special Attack drop makes Mega Latias Latios much less effective at wallbreaking and makes Mega Latios less consistent at checking Grass- and Ground-types. Substitute can also be used over Ice Beam to bypass status, (add comma) but this reduces its longevity and means it has less fewer coverage options. Earthquake allows can be used over Aura Sphere to allow Mega Latios to always KO Heatran, although it forces Mega Latios to use a Naive nature and does not hit Mega Tyranitar as hard. A set utilizing Calm Mind might seem appealing, although this role is largely outdone by its counterpart in but this role is better accomplished by its counterpart Mega Latias due to its the latter's superior bulk allowing for more setup opportunities.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Dark-types Pokemon**: Pokemon such as Ash-Greninja, Tyranitar, and Weavile can easily force out Mega Latios with their STAB moves. Pursuit from the latter three can also consistently trap and KO Latios. However, all of these Pokemon have to fear Aura Sphere when switching in.

**Steel-types Pokemon**: Steel-type Pokemon like Heatran, Mega Mawile, Mega Scizor, Aegislash, and Ferrothorn can easily force Mega Latios out with their strong STAB moves or cripple it with status. However, they fear its coverage options in Aura Sphere and Mystical Fire, respectively or Mystical Fire (can't use respectively in this scenario).

**Fairy-types Pokemon**: The likes of Clefable, Tapu Lele, and Tapu Koko force out Mega Latios with their STAB moves, although they can be overpowered by repeated hits from Psychic.

**Special Walls**: Dedicated special walls such as Chansey, Blissey, and Gastrodon stonewall Mega Latios, being able as they are able to take tank any of its moves, recover back the damage dealt any damage it deals to them, and punish it with a status moves.
