Doubles Lurantis (GP 1/1)

[OVERVIEW]

Lurantis has a niche as a Trick Room attacker with its low Speed and the capability to snowball damage with the combination of Superpower and Contrary, boosting its Attack and Defense every time it hits. Contrary also gives Lurantis Attack boosts from Intimidate, making opposing Incineroar hesitant to switch in. With Trick Room being essential for Lurantis to be effective, bulky Trick Room setters like Porygon2 and Diancie work great as teammates. Tapu Fini also works well as a partner, as it can set Misty Terrain to prevent Luratis from getting burned by Will-O-Wisp from Mew and checking Fire-types like Heatran. Dragapult, meanwhile, can check some of Lurantis's greatest threats outside of Trick Room, outspeeding and OHKOing Landorus and Naganadel with Draco Meteor when they would otherwise OHKO Lurantis with Sludge Bomb. Lurantis's main downsides are its mediocre stats and need for boosts from Intimidate or Superpower to be particularly threatening—which can make it difficult to justify using over other Pokemon—and reliance on Trick Room. Even with Trick Room active, Amoonguss can move before it and either take away its stat boosts with Clear Smog or do heavy damage with Sludge Bomb.

[SET COMMENTS]

* Leaf Blade is Lurantis's most powerful physical STAB attack, able to hit Pokemon like Tapu Fini and Diancie for super effective damage.

* Superpower, while being slightly weaker than Leaf Blade, is often Lurantis's primary attack, since it wants to get stat boosts as soon as possible. It also serves as coverage for Incineroar and Kyurem-B.

* Knock Off covers targets that resist both Grass and Fighting like Amoonguss, Dragapult, and Zapdos and provides utility in removing items. Substitute can be used instead to capitalize on passive play from opponents attempting to stall out Trick Room and keeps Lurantis safe against powerful special attackers.

* Protect can keep Lurantis safe while Trick Room being is set up or can allow you to reposition and bring in a partner that checks Lurantis's threat.

* Sitrus Berry provides burst healing for Lurantis.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Grassy Glide can be used over Leaf Blade if run alongside Rillaboom to give Lurantis a priority attack, making it more effective outside of Trick Room, though it is less powerful than Leaf Blade. Leaf Storm is another move Lurantis can use that pairs well with Contrary—boosting Lurantis's Special Attack by two stages—but has shaky accuracy and uses the lower of Lurantis's attacking stats.

[OVERVIEW]
  • Say Lurantis is a Trick Room "attacker" rather than "sweeper".
  • Add Diancie with Porygon2 as a setter, also say they're "necessary" rather than just "good" since Trick Room isn't optional with Lurantis.
  • Add Landorus to the list of strong special attackers since Sludge Bomb does KO.
  • After mentioning the special threats, add that Dragapult is a good teammate for dealing with them.
  • Mention as a weakness how Lurantis has low stats and requires boosts to deal significant damage, which can make it hard to justify over other attackers with better immediate outputs.
  • Torkoal is too niche so don't mention that, just focus on Amoonguss. Also you can add how Clear Smog removes its boosts, and again don't talk about a "sweep".
[SET COMMENTS]
  • The Superpower point is a bit off in my opinion. It would be better to say something along the lines of "Superpower is only slightly weaker than Leaf Blade while also boosting Lurantis up, so is usually its primary attack."
  • For Knock Off, swap the order of the points in the first sentence, it's used for coverage first with the utility being a bonus not the other way around.
  • Don't mention already having Knock Off as a reason not to use it on Lurantis.
  • For Substitute, say it takes advantage of opponents Protecting to stall Trick Room turns, and lets Lurantis take a hit from the strong special attackers it's usually threatened by.
  • Remove the Fake Out part from Protect, change the "before" to "while".
  • The Porygon2 benchmark is weird to mention anyways since it's not guaranteed, even without them getting Download (also I assume you meant likely 3HKO). Lurantis isn't that bulky so I don't think there's any real 2->3HKOs Sitrus Berry gets at +0, you can just say it increases its longevity without mentioning any specific benchmark.
  • I think you can remove the EV spread point since it's a basic spread, 0 Speed for Trick Room doesn't need explained here either.
[OTHER OPTIONS]
  • Grassy Glide should be used alongside allied Rillaboom, if you're relying on the opponent it's not worth it over Leaf Blade. Also "take advantage of" isn't the most descriptive, say that it provides priority which helps Lurantis function outside of Trick Room.
  • Remove Leftovers, that's better for bulkier setup Pokemon, Lurantis isn't bulky enough to benefit over Sitrus Berry from it.
Tag once implemented and I'll stamp

[Overview]
  • "Porygon2 is one of Lurantis's best teammates, providing Trick Room which is essential for Lurantis to function effectively." - Remove this sentence since it's redundant with the previous one.
  • I wouldn't say that Tapu Fini checks Volcanion since it can't really touch it.
  • You don't need to specify "with Choice Spec Draco Meteor" for Dragapult.
[SET COMMENTS]
  • For Knock Off, move the item utility part to after the type coverage part as I said before.
Do those for QC 1/2.

Specifically mention how Lurantis needs a Superpower or two (or opposing Intimidate) to get going and be particularly threatening when talking about its downsides.

Underlined portion does not make grammatical sense.

* Protect keeps Lurantis safe while Trick Room is set up. Expand slightly - mention typical Protect benefits like letting Lurantis' partner reposition or taking out one of Lurantis' checks.

* Sitrus Berry can give Lurantis a bit of extra bulk. Sitrus Berry provides burst healing for Lurantis.
