The Little Cup Community Create-a-Team
Most of you have probably seen these before, but we haven't had one in LC in some time. Basically, in this project, the LC community will build a (hopefully) competitively viable team, one Pokemon at a time. In the first round, people will submit a Pokemon or core which they would like to see a team built around. In subsequent rounds, people will submit Pokemon that complement what is already on the team. At the end of each round, people can vote on what they like the most, and the submission with the most votes will be added to the team. Ideally, this project will allow newcomers to LC to see how more experienced players go about building an team.

Rules:
  • Please refrain from posting gimmicky or bad sets
  • When posting a Pokemon, post it with a moveset, and a few sentences of description on why you think it fits the team and why you chose the moveset you chose.
  • When voting, you can only select one submission. Explanations of votes are nice but not required.
  • Feel free to discuss other submissions, but please only refute others' sets with solid reasoning (as opposed to "I hate Snivy so I don't want to include it).
Ideally, each round, including submissions and voting, will take about a week, depending on the number of submissions. Have fun!

The round 1 submission period begins now! Please submit a single Pokemon, or a core you would like to see the team built around. Remember to include sets, and a short explanation of why you would like the team to be built around your Pokemon or core.

Litleo @ Life Orb
Level: 5
Ability: Unnerve
EVs: 20 HP / 52 Def / 176 SpA / 4 SpD / 180 Spe
Timid Nature
- Fire Blast
- Hyper Voice
- Hidden Power Grass
- Will-O-Wisp / Flame Charge

It's a decent fire type special attacker, with alright bulk. It doesn't really limit what the team could become, as it can either be a supportive mon or a lategame cleaner if that's what the team turns into.

Let's prove whether or not this thing can be used on a team where Houndour wouldn't be better.

What a beautiful face, I have found in this place
Vullaby @ Eviolite
Ability: Weak Armor
Level: 5
EVs: 116 HP / 240 SpA / 120 Spe
Modest Nature
- Nasty Plot
- Dark Pulse
- Air Slash
- Heat Wave

Because its hella fun and no one sees it coming

Ability: Gale Wings
Level: 5
EVs: 156 HP / 196 Atk / 92 Def / 52 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Acrobatics
- U-turn
- Swords Dance
- Roost

Shellder @ Eviolite
Ability: Shell Armor
Level: 5
EVs: 236 Atk / 76 SpD / 196 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Shell Smash
- Icicle Spear
- Rock Blast
- Ice Shard

So basically I've made 4 teams with this core, and all of them have been shite, for various reasons. These two Pokemon have basically the exact same counters, most of which are fairy easily worn down, and yet I just cannot make the pair work in a team :/

Wynaut @ Berry Juice
Ability: Shadow Tag
Level: 5
EVs: 76 HP / 212 Def / 212 SpD
Careful Nature
- Encore
- Counter
- Mirror Coat
- Charm

This is relatively a very versatile and easy mon to build around and allows its teammates to enjoy the satisfaction of an abra absorber and any other mon that does neutral damage as it can pretty much tank anything (pivot uturners especially) and hit just as hard back x 2 to any mon on the opposing team which might be useful in allowing its fellow teammates to setup for sweep. Also... why not?

Mienfoo @ Life Orb
Level: 5
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 236 Atk / 36 Def / 236 Spe
Jolly Nature
- High Jump Kick
- Knock Off
- U-turn
- Fake Out/ Stone Edge

I've seen this set on the analysis page but I don't know how to make it work. With foo being easily the most splashable mon i the tier it shouldn't be that hard to build around it.

Deerling @ Eviolite
Ability: Sap Sipper
Level: 5
EVs: 36 HP / 36 Def / 120 SpA / 36 SpD / 240 Spe
Timid Nature
- Giga Drain
- Work Up
- Baton Pass
- Hidden Power [Fire]

Snivy check, passes work up to anything which is really nice, 18 speed is F A S T, and can clean if given the opportunity

You can also pass grass type attack boosts, which makes the opponent wary of using them at all

A lovely forgotten set which is really effective as nobody expects it to outspeed a bunch of fast offensive mons. You can go mad and add Head Smash somewhere so you can destroy ponyta and vullaby but that's your choice.

Celesteela is Life

Teddiursa @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Quick Feet
EVs: 36 HP / 196 Atk / 36 Def / 36 SpD / 196 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Facade
- Close Combat
- Crunch
- Protect / Swords Dance

We in from the C ranks over here! So Teddiursa is a really neat mon that has an amazing offensive movepool (Why does this thing have Close Combat lol) and a nice ability in Quick Feet that makes him a threat to offensive teams that lack a Scarfer or priority user that can outspeed him, and if we use Swords Dance, it's a wallbreaker as well. Sadly it's dispatched easily by Scarfers or priority and is pretty frail, so it needs a lot of support to function, but I know that we can make an effective team with this mon!

Deerling @ Eviolite
Ability: Sap Sipper
Level: 5
EVs: 36 HP / 36 Def / 120 SpA / 36 SpD / 240 Spe
Timid Nature
- Giga Drain
- Work Up
- Baton Pass
- Hidden Power [Fire]

Snivy check, passes work up to anything which is really nice, 18 speed is F A S T, and can clean if given the opportunity

Seems a waste to use special Deerling when it has more base attack and Sap Sipper.

116 SpA Deerling Hidden Power Fire vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Eviolite Snivy: 8-10 (38 - 47.6%) -- 0.4% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock
116 Atk Deerling Return vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Eviolite Snivy: 9-12 (42.8 - 57.1%) -- 96.5% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock

+1 116 Atk Deerling Return vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Snivy: 19-24 (90.4 - 114.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock

Deerling @ Eviolite
Ability: Sap Sipper
Level: 5
EVs: 36 HP / 116 Atk / 36 Def / 36 SpD / 236 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Seed Bomb
- Work Up
- Baton Pass
- Return

Now here's a cool combo I've been wanting to try for a while.

Chinchou @ Berry Juice
Ability: Volt Absorb
Level: 5
EVs: 76 HP / 132 Def / 68 SpA / 220 Spe
Timid Nature
- Soak
- Volt Switch
- Scald
- Thunderbolt / HP Ground

Deerling @ Life Orb / Berry Juice
Ability: Sap Sipper
Level: 5
EVs: 36 HP / 196 Atk / 36 SpD / 236 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Return
- Jump Kick
- Seed Bomb
- Wild Charge

Soak Chinchou with max speed lures bulky pokemon like Spritzee, Timburr, and Download Porygon, Grass-types like Foongus and Pumpkaboo, Croagunk and Timburr, and fires off a Soak + super effective Volt Switch combo for massive damage, while also removing their STAB. Deerling appreciates Soak and takes Ground and Grass attacks while Chinchou resists Flying, Fire, and Ice for it and severely weakens bulkier mons with a Soaked Volt Switch that Deerling struggles to break past, especially Croagunk, Timburr, Foongus, and Pumpkaboo.

CHECK THIS SHIT OUT. so there are only a couple good defiant users in lc. pawn, and i guess sorta mankey? goth should never use competitive and piplup is bad, so there really arent a lot of good mons to block defog.

but most important is igglybuff takes hits for D A Y Z
116 Atk Timburr Drain Punch vs. 116 HP / 236+ Def Eviolite Igglybuff: 7-10 (25.9 - 37%) -- 82.5% chance to 3HKO

196+ Atk Fletchling Acrobatics (110 BP) vs. 116 HP / 236+ Def Eviolite Igglybuff: 10-13 (37 - 48.1%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
(10, 10, 10, 10, 12, 12, 12, 12, 12, 12, 12, 12, 12, 12, 12, 13)

pawniard cant even ohko you unless superlucky
156 Atk Pawniard Iron Head vs. 116 HP / 236+ Def Eviolite Igglybuff: 18-24 (66.6 - 88.8%) -- 6.3% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock
(18, 18, 18, 20, 20, 20, 20, 20, 20, 20, 20, 20, 20, 20, 20, 24)

236 Atk Life Orb Diglett Earthquake vs. 116 HP / 236+ Def Eviolite Igglybuff: 12-16 (44.4 - 59.2%) -- 12.1% chance to 2HKO

180 Atk Archen Stone Edge vs. 116 HP / 236+ Def Eviolite Igglybuff: 12-15 (44.4 - 55.5%) -- 12.1% chance to 2HKO
