[SET]
name: Swords Dance
move 1: Swords Dance
move 2: Crabhammer
move 3: Return
move 4: X-Scissor / Rock Slide / Brick Break
item: Life Orb / Leftovers
nature: Jolly
ability: Hyper Cutter
evs: 16 HP / 252 Atk / 240 Spe

Swords Dance is probably one of the best options that Kingler has, being able to double it's great Attack in one turn can be dangerous if not prepared for. Crabhammer is Kingler's only reliable STAB move that is effective, though it has an unreliable accuracy, but has more chances of landing on a Critical hit. Return is your best weapon against most Water-types and Toxicroak that can come in and wall Kingler. Return also provides excellent coverage alongside Crabhammer. X-Scissor is mostly for those annoying Grass-type Pokemon that have a lot of bulk, such as Leafeon. Rock Slide is helpful when it comes to Flying-type Pokemon such as Altaria. Brick Break also has the capability to rid of Reflect and Light Screen, which can come in handy. Superpower can be an options over Brick Break if you want more power, though it's not recommended to run Superpower and Sword Dance in the same set, but is still a viable option if you want a stronger Fighting-type move.

The given EVs hits 270 Speed, enough to outrun neutral nature Toxicroak. Life Orb is recommended for the power boost, but Leftovers is still acceptable to get back some HP lost while setting up.

[SET]
name: Choice
move 1: Crabhammer
move 2: Return
move 3: Rock Slide
move 4: X-Scissor / Superpower
item: Choice Band / Choice Scarf
nature: Adamant / Jolly
ability: Hyper Cutter
evs: 32 HP / 252 Atk / 224 Spe

Choice Band Kingler might not be as powerful as the Sword Dance set, but still packs quite a punch. Crabhammer is obvious for STAB. Rock Slide is to deter Mantine and Altaria, which Rock Slide assures an OHKO against both of these Pokemon (assuming you are using a Choice Band). In the final slot you have the option of X-Scissor and Superpower, X-Scissor helps against Grass-type Pokemon that may wall Kingler, while Superpower helps against Steel-types, such as Steelix.

You lose a bit of power by dropping Choice Band, but with a Choice Scarf and an Adamant nature, Kingler reaches 362 Speed, enough to outrun Persian. Even with Jolly and max Speed, you can't guarantee you will outrun Electrode, so the only other useful Speed benchmark to hit is 384 (188 EVs, Jolly), which beats Jolly Swellow. Choice Band also has its tricks, as with a Jolly nature and Choice Band, Kingler is able to OHKO both 252 HP / 0 Def Steelix, which can come pretty handy.

[SET]
name: Salac Flail
move 1: Substitute / Endure
move 2: Swords Dance
move 3: Crabhammer
move 4: Flail
item: Salac Berry
nature: Jolly
ability: Hyper Cutter
evs: 252 Atk / 6 Def / 252 Spe

Swords Dance if you can and Substitute or Endure down to 1 HP before using Flail. Water and Normal offers great type coverage and a full powered Flail, backed up with Swords Dance, is a potent weapon for sweeping. Substitute vs. Endure is mostly down to preference. Sub gives you protection against status and priority attacks, while Endure is helpful if Kingler has taken damage from Stealth Rock, Spikes, etc. since it can mess up its ability to get down to 1 HP.

[Other Options]

Hyper Cutter is probably the best ability for Kingler, since most of its movesets are offensive based. Shell Armor can be useful when it comes to trying to handle moves such as Night Slash and Stone Edge, which have a high Critical hit ratio, and Shell Armor negates critical hits from touching Kingler. Knock Off is a pretty good option if you want some support. Kingler does not have many other options, mostly due to its very limited movepool, and everything vaguely usable has been included in this analysis already.

[EVs]

A Jolly nature is recommended for most sets, where 240 EVs generates 270 Speed, enough to outrun Adamant Toxicroak. Adamant nature with 242+ Speed is sufficient to outrun anything slower than Persian and friends if you're using Choice Scarf. Jolly and Choice Band seem to be the most effective combination if you're using the Choice Band set, as it allows you to OHKO Pokemon such as Steelix. Maximum Attack and Speed for Salac/Flail set. If you're using Substitute, make sure your HP is indivisible by four to ensure you can Substitute four times, rather than three.

[Opinion]

The new generation gave Kingler physical STAB in the form of Crabhammer. At last it has something worthwhile to abuse that monstrous Attack with, though the accuracy isn't really the greatest. X-Scissor, Rock Slide, and Brick Break are all helpful and gives Kingler a few toys to play with now. It has adequate Speed and that aforementioned Attack is capable of denting anything in UU. Though its 115 base Defense is somewhat undermined by its poor HP, Kingler will still survive most physical STAB moves with plenty to spare.

[Counters]

Toxicroak can handle anything barring Return and Flail. Mantine can come in on Crabhammer, X-Scissor or Brick Break and hit Kingler with Toxic, or the occasional Hidden Power Electric or Grass. Quagsire does quite well due to its high Defense and Water Absorb, although it will not enjoy boosted Returns. Meganium and Leafeon can handle most sets that don't include X-Scissor. Altaria's only worry is a boosted Rock Slide or Return. A Kingler without Rock Slide will be walled by Shedinja.

Kingler remains vulnerable on the special side, and a neutral STAB attack will severely cripple it, if not KO it. Most sweepers can take advantage of its average Speed too, although few can switch in directly.

All you really have to do for this one is update the Choice Sets with Superpower...Unless I'm missing something.

The first few sentences of the choice sets should be revised. Also, Crabhammer will already OHKO (with possibilty of 2HKO) Steelix, doing more than Superpower. Superpower really isn't an amazing option on him in general (especially on a SD set). Saying that it is his most powerful option isn't true either, as STAB Crabhammer is his most powerful assault. Also, the Opinion section only really talks about his movepool options which have already been discussed in the analysis. Saying something like: "Kingler has gained a much-needed physical movepool update in the transition from R/S/E to DPPt that allows him potential as a quite potent force. Unfortunately, average speed and defenses make him only satisfactory in the current UU metagame."

--would be better suited. Plus, X-Scissor should be used over Rock Slide in all cases, as Return still kills Mantine and Crabhammer already hits Altaria quite hard.

I'd probably mention that any Kingler without Rock Slide (or Knock Off) is walled by Shedinja. (In the Counters section).

[SET]
name: Swords Dance
move 1: Sword Dance
move 2: Crabhammer
move 3: Return
move 4: X-Scissor / Rock Slide / Superpower
item: Life Orb / Leftovers
nature: Jolly
ability: Hyper Cutter
evs: 16 HP / 252 Atk / 240 Spe

Sword Dance is probably one of the best options for Kingler; being able to double it's incredible Attack stat in one turn can be dangerous if not prepared for. Crabhammer is it's most reliable STAB move that suffers from near-perfect accuracy. Return is your best option against (removed "most") Water-types and Toxicroak, who would otherwise wall this set fairly effectively. X-Scissor is mostly for (removed "those annoying") Grass-type Pokemon ( removed "that have a lot of bulk") , such as Leafeon. Rock Slide is helpful when it comes to Flying-type Pokemon such as Mantine, (removed which is one of those Pokemon that are annoying to any Water-type Pokemon without a Rock-type attack) , though Rock Slide is 10% less accurate than Crabhammer (not true and not relevant), which is sort of a let down. Superpower may seem redundant here, but it has an outstanding base power of 120, being able to OHKO Pokemon that Brick Break normally cannot (like what?). With the given EVs, you are able to OHKO a 252 HP / 192 Def Modest Lapras with Superpower after a Sword Dance (this is not the Standard spread, which infact, is not even mentioned on the analysis. Could Brick Break do the same?). A Sword Danced Superpower also OHKOs a 252 HP / 0 Def Steelix, which Steelix can possibly wall Kingler as well (One of Kingler' merrits is being able to take down Steelix with Crabhammer, which btw does more).

The given EVs allow you to hit 270 Speed, which (removed "which is a good benchmark") outruns Adamant Toxicroak. Life Orb is recommended, but Leftovers is still acceptable to get back some HP lost while setting up.

[SET]
name: Choice
move 1: Crabhammer
move 2: Return
move 3: X-Scissor / Superpower
move 4: Rock Slide
item: Choice Band / Choice Scarf
nature: Adamant / Jolly
ability: Hyper Cutter
evs: 32 HP / 252 Atk / 224 Spe

Choice Band Kingler might not be as powerful as the Sword Dance set, but still packs quite a strong punch. Crabhammer for the STAB move, as it lacks a better STAB move, and the accuracy Crabhammer has doesn't really help. Rock Slide is what will propably prevent Mantine and Altaria from being annoying, which Rock Slide assures and OHKO to both of these Pokemon. You have the option of X-Scissor and Superpower, X-Scissor helps against Grass-type Pokemon that may wall Kingler, while Superpower helps against Steel-types, such as Steelix.

You lose a bit of power by dropping Choice Band, but with a Choice Scarf and an Adamant nature, Kingler reaches 362 Speed, enough to outrun Persian. Even with Jolly and max Speed, you can't guarantee you will outrun Electrode, so the only other useful Speed benchmark to hit is 384 (188 EVs, Jolly), which beats Jolly Swellow, and has the possibility of OHKOing Swellow with Rock Slide. Choice Band also has its tricks, as with a Jolly nature and Choice Band, Kingler is able to OHKO both 252 HP / 0 Def Steelix, which can come pretty handy.

move 2: Swords Dance

move 4: Flail

evs: 252 Atk / 6 Def / 252 Spe

Swords Dance if/when you can and Substitute/Endure down to 1 HP before using Flail.

Jolly and Choice Band seem to be the most effective combination if you're using the Choice Band set, as it allows to OHKO Pokemon such as Steelix. Max Attack and Speed for Salac/Flail sets. If you're using Substitute, make sure your HP is indivisible by four to ensure you can Sub four times, rather than three.

[OPINION]

The new generation gave Kingler physical STAB in the form of Crabhammer. Finally, it has something worthwhile to abuse that monstrous Attack with, though the accuracy isn't really the best. Kingler is one of those Pokemon with good stats, but lacks a good movepool to abuse those stats with. X-Scissor is the move that will probably help with Grass-types that wall to most Water-type Pokemon, so one should use it wisely. Rock Slide is the move that stops Altaria and Mantine and other Flying-type Pokemon from attempting to wall you. Superpower is Kinglers most powerful move, being deadly if used with a Choice item, and even more dangerous if being used in the Sword Dance set, so taking advantage of this powerful move on a Pokemon with such a high Attack as Kingler is a very wise choice.

Steel-types can also pose a problem to Kingler if it lacks a Fighting-type move, so running a Kingler without Superpower or Brick Break is not recommended.

Kingler remains vulnerable on the special side, and a neutral STAB Attack will severely cripple it, if not KO it. Most sweepers can take advantage of its average Speed too, although few can switch in directly.

This entire set didn't need editing anyway, only in mention of Superpower. Brick Break is still (arguably) the better option anyway. Rock Slide doesn't seem extremely useful, and should only be slashed as an option for reasons I expanded on in the analysis.

I told you in IRC but a reminder: Brick Break on the Swords Dancer set, and Superpower in SET COMMENTS.

X-Scissor should be used over Rock Slide in all cases, as Return still kills Mantine and Crabhammer already hits Altaria quite hard.
Altaria resists crabhammer, so even Return is a better option for it. Plus Rock Slide hits those pesky Ice/Water types for SE damage.

Sorry, was not thinking. That's true. There are only 4 water+ice types in UU, Lapras being the only relatively used one.

(removed "most") Water-types and Toxicroak, who would otherwise wall this set fairly effectively. X-Scissor is mostly for (removed "those annoying") Grass-type Pokemon ( removed "that have a lot of bulk")
stuff like that isnt really a problem, and ill be fixing some of your stuff, not all of it though.

Minor changes in Swords Dance set

Sword Dance is probably one of the best options that Kingler can have, being able to double it's incredible Attack in one turn can be dangerous if not prepared for. Crabhammer is Kingler's only reliable STAB move that is effective, though it has an unreliable accuracy, but has more chances of landing on a Critical hit. Return is your best weapon against most Water-types and Toxicroak that can come in and wall Kingler, and Return hits pretty hard after a Sword Dance. X-Scissor is mostly for those annoying Grass-type Pokemon that have a lot of bulk, such as Leafeon. Rock Slide is helpful when it comes to Flying-type Pokemon such as Mantine, which is one of those Pokemon that are annoying to any Water-type Pokemon without a Rock-type attack, though Rock Slide is 10% less accurate than Crabhammer, which is sort of a let down. Brick Break is mostly used here for protection against opposing Steel-type Pokemon that can become annoying at times, and with the given EVs, it can outspeed and OHKO several things, such as a max Speed neutral nature Absol. Brick Break also has the capability to rid of Reflect and Light Screen, which comes in handy. Superpower can be an option over Brick Break if you want more power, though it's not recomended to run Superpower and Sword Dance in the same set, but is still a viable option if you want a stronger Fighting-type move.

If this has already been edited, I cannot stress how much those edits actually are quite important. If you really are not changing it, at least get rid of the part that talks about Rock Slide's accuracy and divide it into separate paragraphs.
