ability: Serene Grace

[SET COMMENTS]
Jirachi is the preferred Stealth Rock setter for Psychic teams due to the huge utility from its typing, Thunder Wave, and its ability to generate momentum with U-turn. Iron Head with Serene Grace allows Jirachi to flinch down foes such as Shuckle, Porygon2, Piloswine, and Clefable. This strategy pairs well with Thunder Wave, which slows foes for Jirachi to flinch through and increases the chance they can't move, as well as punishing switch-ins such as Victini, Volcarona, and Celesteela. U-turn lets Jirachi escape threats like Landorus-T, Aegislash, and Magnezone, which take advantage of it, or Ferrothorn, Toxapex, and Heatran, which Jirachi can't win against. If not running Leftovers, Kasib Berry lets Jirachi take a hit from and paralyze Ghost-types such as Choice Scarf Blacephalon and Dragapult, which greatly threaten Psychic teams. There is no set Speed for Jirachi; 96 Speed EVs outspeed Adamant Mamoswine and Modest Togekiss, but 32 Speed EVs are still enough to outspeed and threaten Jolly Dragon Dance Tyranitar.

Slowbro is an excellent partner for Jirachi, as it checks Ground- and Fire-types such as Choice Scarf Excadrill and Cinderace and also pivots Jirachi in against Fairy- and Ice-types such as Tapu Bulu and Kyurem with Teleport. Also, if Jirachi utilizes a Kasib Berry, Slowbro is free to use a Colbur Berry, letting it check Dark-types such as Bisharp and Weavile too. Victini loves Jirachi luring in Steel-types such as Ferrothorn and Magnezone, takes advantage of Jirachi chipping and slowing teams with Stealth Rock and Thunder Wave, and works with Jirachi to pressure types such as Ice and Fairy. Choice Specs Tapu Lele appreciates Jirachi spreading paralysis, which allows it to outspeed and steamroll types such as Water and Fairy. Alternatively, Choice Scarf Tapu Lele deals with Dragon- and Dark-types such as Dragpult, Hydreigon, and non-Choice Scarf Zarude, aside from setting Psychic Terrain to neutralize Sucker Punch users like Cinderace and Bisharp. Galarian Slowking shares Jirachi's duties in dealing with special attackers, with Galarian Slowking walling Kingdra, Heatran, and Volcanion and Jirachi dealing with Psychic-types such as Tapu Lele and Hatterene. Hatterene checks Dark- and Dragon-types such as Galarian Moltres and Hydreigon, and it utilizes Trick Room to threaten faster types such as Dark and Water.

[SET]
name: Choice Scarf (Psychic)

move 2: U-turn
move 3: Trick
move 4: Healing Wish / Stealth Rock
item: Choice Scarf
ability: Serene Grace
nature: Jolly
evs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
With a Choice Scarf, Jirachi can revenge kill threats such as Weavile, Choice Scarf Galarian Darmanitan, and Spectrier while also providing utility in the form of Healing Wish and Trick. While Tapu Lele is generally the better Choice Scarf user when it comes to late-game cleaning and revenge killing, Choice Scarf Jirachi is still a decent pick, as it notably eases matchups like Fairy and Ice while providing tremendous utility and pivoting. Iron Head with Serene Grace lets Jirachi potentially luck through threats such as Hydreigon and non-Choice Scarf Dragapult, and it deals with Ice- and Fairy-types such as Alolan Ninetales and Tapu Lele. U-turn lets it pivot against switch-ins such as Heatran, Slowbro, and Corviknight. Trick debilitates walls such as Toxapex, Ferrothorn, and Celesteela, which in turn creates setup opportunities for its teammates, especially in matchups like Poison and Steel. Healing Wish lets Jirachi support a teammate in case Jirachi has been chipped down too much or is unneeded in the matchup, such as against Steel, Water, and Fire. Alternatively, Stealth Rock lets Jirachi still perform its role as an entry hazard setter, taking advantage of slower, passive Pokemon such as Blissey, Galarian Weezing, and Clefable, which tend to switch out on it.

Due to Jirachi running Choice Scarf, teammates such as Tapu Lele and Latias are free to run other sets, or they can be done away entirely. Choice Specs Tapu Lele appreciates Jirachi's ability to lure in Toxapex, revenge kill Weavile and Choice Scarf Galarian Darmanitan, and flinch down Hydreigon. In return, it wears down opposing teams due to its near-unwallable coverage. Calm Mind Latios appreciates being brought in against passive defensive Pokemon such as Slowbro and Corviknight and loves Healing Wish, which gives it another chance to wallbreak. In return, Latios provides a Ground immunity, breaks down types such as Poison and Flying, and deals with troublesome foes such as Choice Band Urshifu-R, Toxapex, and Ferrothorn. Victini deals with all Steel-types that wall Jirachi except for Heatran, and it appreciates Healing Wish support to threaten Steel and Grass teams a second time. Slowbro can switch into strong physical attackers such as Barraskewda, Excadrill, and Garchomp, which threaten Jirachi. Hatterene may be considered over Tapu Lele, as Jirachi provides revenge killing and cleaning; Hatterene deals with fast Dark-type threats, such as Zarude and Galarian Moltres, while also pressuring types such as Electric and Water. Defensive setup sweepers such as Agility + Calm Mind Latias and Cosmic Power Mew are also great teammates, as they help in matchups such as Electric, Ground, and Flying, and they also appreciate Jirachi's Healing Wish support.

Ice Punch or Fire Punch may be considered over Trick or Healing Wish with Choice Scarf to threaten Landorus-T and Garchomp or Ferrothorn. However, this comes at the cost of reduced utility. Toxic may be considered on specially defensive sets over Thunder Wave, as it allows Jirachi to wear down answers such as Porygon2, Slowbro, and Mandibuzz more quickly, opening them up for teammates such as Victini. However, this should only be considered if Jirachi is using Leftovers, as Toxic + Iron Head will not check Ghost-types such as Dragapult and Blacephalon. Maximum Speed EVs with a Jolly nature may be considered on specially defensive sets to outspeed and threaten Mimikyu, Kyurem, and Choice Specs Tapu Lele at the cost of reduced bulk.

Furthermore, Jirachi's middling speed denies it from being able to outspeed and threaten faster Choice Scarf users like Zarude and Blacephalon, unlike Choice Scarf Latias.
Kinda sorta weird comparison. I'd personal exclude this line, i think Latias is really just a compression Pokemon. Like it outspeeds "general" fast Pokemon and click hwish

Jirachi is the preferred Stealth Rock setter for Psychic teams due to its access to U-turn, Steel typing, and ability to debilitate foes with Thunder Wave (these points dont really connect. i would say preferred stealth rock setter due to its potent utility along side rocks or something along those lines). Iron Head is the main attacking move of choice (implies there is another attacking move of choice here, there isnt, would reword this to it allows it to flinch in tandem with serene grace) due to Serene Grace boosting its ability to flinch, allowing Jirachi to flinch down foes such as Shuckle. , Porygon2, Piloswine, and Clefable. This pairs well with Thunder Wave, allowing Jirachi to potentially hax through foes such as Slowbro and (takes a very long time, slowbro can pp stall with regen, and still unlikely to happen) Mandibuzz with ParaFlinch, aside from Thunder Wave punishing switchins such as Victini, Volcarona, and Celesteela. U-turn lets Jirachi escape unfavorable matchups from threats like Landorus-T, Aegislash, and Magnezone which take advantage of it, or against Ferrothorn, Rocky Helmet Toxapex, and Heatran which Jirachi can't would be unlikely to win against (it should never win against any of them). Kasib Berry lets Jirachi take a hit from and paralyze Ghost-types such as Choice Scarf Blacephalon and Dragapult, which greatly threaten Psychic teams. There is no set Speed for Jirachi; 96 Speed EVs outspeeds Adamant Mamoswine and Modest Togekiss, while 32 Speed EVs lets it outspeed and threaten Jolly Dragon Dance Tyranitar. The remaining EVs are to be allocated to HP and SpDef to improve Jirachi's bulk. (its not in the set so i wouldnt mention the 32 speed ngl, but ill leave this for qc 2 or 3 to correct if they feel its needed)

the point about it having a middling speed tier, not comparing to latias and calling it a decent pick just feels odd to me. if jirachi was really that bad and completely outclassed this wouldnt have an analysis. i would just honestly remove everything about that part, as you compare it to two scarfers that are apparently much better so someone reading this wouldnt really see a reason to use jirachi

This has been implemented :wo:

==== SpDef ====

[SET COMMENTS]
- Mandibuzz is a... pretty odd example since the risk of getting Foul Play'd is there, which should encourage players to not beat it via paraflinch. Just say it "potentially haxes through them" (which recaps the last sentence);
- "Slowbro is an excellent partner for Jirachi, as it not only checks Ground- and Fire-types such as Choice Scarf Excadrill and Cinderace, (comma) but also pivots Jirachi in against Fairy- and Ice-types such as Tapu Bulu and Kyurem with Teleport.";
- I think Slowbro is always meant to run Colbur berry wise? If so, I think you don't need to list that sentence;
- "Choice Specs Tapu Lele appreciates Jirachi's ability to spread paralysis as it allows Tapu Lele to outspeed and steamroll the opposing types such as Water and Fairy."

==== Scarf ====

- Remove the Iron Head being horrendous part; just say that "while Tapu Lele is generally a better Choice Scarf user, Choice Scarf Jirachi is still a decent pick...";
- "Serene Grace-boosted";
- "Healing Wish lets Jirachi support a teammate (remove space) in case Jirachi has been chipped down too much or is unneeded in the matchup, such as against Steel, Water, and Fire.";
- I think you can remove the last sentence since the EV spread is pretty standard for a scarfer, and you have already described the same thing over the course of the first paragraph.

While Tapu Lele is generally the better Choice Scarf user when it comes to late-game cleaning and revenge killing, (removed hyphen) Choice Scarf Jirachi is still a decent pick, as it notably eases matchups like Fairy and Ice, and provides a sheer amount of Ice while providing tremendous utility and pivoting. Serene Grace-boosted Iron Head with Serene Grace lets Jirachi potentially hax luck through threats such as Hydreigon and Non-Choice non-Choice Scarf Dragapult, and lets it deal it deals with Ice- and Fairy-types such as Alolan Ninetales and Tapu Lele. U-turn lets it pivot out of switchins switch-ins such as Heatran, Slowbro, and Corviknight. Trick cripples debilitates walls such as Toxapex, Ferrothorn, and Celesteela, which in turn creates setup opportunities for its team mates, teammates, especially in matchups like Poison and Steel where its flinching prowess or speedtier Speed tier is not needed. Healing Wish lets Jirachi support a team mate teammate in case Jirachi has been chipped down too much or is unneeded in the matchup, such as against Steel, Water, and Fire. Alternatively, Stealth Rock lets Jirachi still (I imagine this makes sense?) perform its role as an entry hazard setter, taking advantage of slower, passive Pokemon such as Blissey, Galarian Weezing, and Clefable,(AC) which tend to switch out on it.

Due to Jirachi providing speed control, team mates running Choice Scarf, teammates such as Tapu Lele and Latias are free to run other sets, or they can be done away entirely. Choice Specs Tapu Lele appreciates Jirachi's ability to lure in Toxapex, revenge kill (removed hyphen) Weavile and Choice Scarf Galarian Darmanitan, and flinch down Hydreigon. In return, it wears down opposing teams due to its near-unwallable (added hyphen) coverage. Calm Mind Latios appreciates being pivoted in against passive defensive Pokemon such as Slowbro and Corviknight and loves Jirachi's ability to provide Healing Wish which gives Latios Healing Wish, which gives it another chance to wallbreak. In return, Latios provides a Ground-type immunity, breaks down types such as Poison and Flying, and deals with troublesome foes such as Choice Band Urshifu-R, Toxapex, and Ferrothorn. Victini deals with all Steel-types that Jirachi is walled by wall Jirachi except for Heatran, and appreciates the Healing Wish support as it allows Victini it appreciates Healing Wish support to threaten Steel and Grass teams a second time. Slowbro pivots into strong physical attackers such as Barraskewda, Excadrill, and Garchomp, which threaten Jirachi. Hatterene may be considered over Tapu Lele, as Jirachi provides speed control; This revenge killing and cleaning; Hatterene deals with fast Dark-type threats, (AC) such as Zarude and Galarian Moltres, while also pressuring teams types such as Electric and Water. Defensive setup sweepers such as Agility + Calm Mind Latias or and Cosmic Power Mew are also great team mates as these helps teammates, as they help in matchups such as Electric, Ground, and Flying, and they also appreciates appreciate Jirachi's Healing Wish support.

Ice Punch or Fire Punch may be considered over Trick or Healing Wish on the Choice Scarf set with Choice Scarf to threaten Landorus-T, Garchomp, and Landorus-T and Garchomp or Ferrothorn, respectively. Toxic may be considered on Specially Defensive specially defensive sets over Thunder Wave, as this it allows Jirachi to wear down answers such as Porygon2, Slowbro, and Mandibuzz faster, opening more quickly, opening them up for teammates such as Victini. However, this should only be considered if Jirachi is using Leftovers, as Toxic and + Iron Head will not check Ghost-types such as Dragapult and Blacephalon. Jirachi is the preferred Stealth Rock setter for Psychic teams due to its huge utility in terms of typing and from its typing, Thunder Wave, and ability to generate momentum with U-turn. Iron Head is chosen due to Serene Grace boosting its ability to flinch, allowing with Serene Grace allows Jirachi to flinch down foes such as Shuckle, Porygon2, Piloswine, and Clefable. This strategy pairs well with Thunder Wave, allowing Jirachi to potentially hax through them, aside from Thunder Wave punishing switchins which slows foes for Jirachi to flinch and increases the chance they can't move, as well as punishing switch-ins such as Victini, Volcarona, and Celesteela. U-turn lets Jirachi escape threats like Landorus-T, Aegislash, and Magnezone, (AC) which take advantage of it, or against Ferrothorn, Toxapex, and Heatran, (AC) which Jirachi can't win against. If not running Leftovers, Kasib Berry lets Jirachi take a hit from and paralyze Ghost-types such as Choice Scarf Blacephalon and Dragapult, which greatly threaten Psychic teams. There is no set Speed for Jirachi; 96 Speed EVs outspeeds outspeed Adamant Mamoswine and Modest Togekiss, while 32 Speed EVs lets it but 32 Speed EVs are still enough to outspeed and threaten Jolly Dragon Dance Tyranitar. The remaining EVs are to be allocated to HP and SpDef to improve Jirachi's bulk.

Slowbro is an excellent partner for Jirachi, as it not only checks Ground- and Fire-types such as Choice Scarf Excadrill and Cinderace, but also pivots Jirachi in against Fairy- and Ice-types such as Tapu Bulu and Kyurem with Teleport. Jirachi utilizing a Kasib Berry also means that Also, if Jirachi utilizes a Kasib Berry, Slowbro is free to use a Colbur Berry, letting it check Dark-types such as Bisharp and Weavile too. Victini loves Jirachi's ability to lure Jirachi luring in Steel-types such as Ferrothorn and Magnezone, takes advantage of Jirachi's ability to wear and slow down the opposing team Jirachi chipping and slowing teams with Stealth Rock and Thunder Wave, and works with Jirachi to pressure types such as Ice and Fairy. Choice Specs Tapu Lele appreciates Jirachi's ability to spread paralysis as it allows Tapu Lele Jirachi spreading paralysis, which allows it to outspeed and steamroll types such as Water and Fairy. Alternatively, Choice Scarf Tapu Lele deals with Dragon- and Dark-types such as Dragpult, Hydreigon, and non-Choice Scarf Zarude, aside from setting Psychic terrain Terrain to neutralize Sucker Punch users like Cinderace and Bisharp. Galarian Slowking is a special wall that shares Jirachi's duties in dealing with special attackers, with Galarian Slowking dealing with walling (I imagine?) Kingdra, Heatran, and Volcanion, and Jirachi dealing with Psychic-types such as Tapu Lele and Hatterene. Hatterene checks Dark- and Dragon-types such as Galarian Moltres and Hydreigon, and it utilizes Trick Room to threaten faster types such as Dark and Water.
