Encore + Disable (Iron Valiant) @ Booster Energy
Ability: Quark Drive
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 248 HP / 180 Def / 80 Spe
Bold Nature
- Protect
- Encore
- Disable
- Moonblast / Aura Sphere

[SET COMMENTS]

* Protect allows Iron Valiant to scout the moves used before using Encore and Disable as well as being able to beat Slaking.
* Encore and Disable can be used in tandem with each other to force foes to Struggle. Generally, Iron Valiant will use Protect, Encore, Protect, Disable, and Encore in that order to ensure your opponent cannot attack. Against choice locked targets like Choice Specs Sylveon and Choice item Rotom-W, use Protect turn 1 followed by Disable.
* Moonblast is a stronger and more free to use STAB option that hits Annihilape, Sableye, and Dragapult. Aura Sphere is weaker but allows it to hit Iron Bundle, Magnezone, and Arcanine for more damage.
* The Defense EVs allow Iron Valiant to take more hits from Struggle, while the Speed EVs and Booster Energy allow it to outspeed Dragapult.
* You should generally avoid possible matchups against faster Speed Booster Pokemon like Iron Bundle and Walking Wake or Choice Scarf users like Meowscarada; while they can't guarantee an OHKO, neither can Iron Valiant with Moonblast.
* Knowing when to use Moonblast is also key information. Some Pokemon, like Dragapult, can take advantage of Iron Valiant using Protect turn 1. Against Dragapult and opposing Iron Valiant, Iron Valiant should always use Moonblast turn 1 for the best chances of winning.
* If Iron Valiant locks the foe into a weak move or status move with Encore, do not use Disable, as you can repeat the Encore later on or go for the KO with Moonblast or Aura Sphere.

* Protect allows Iron Valiant to scout the moves used before using Encore and Disable as well as being able to beat Slaking.
* Encore and Disable can be used in tandem with eachother to force foes to Struggle. Generally you will use Protect, Encore, Protect, Disable, and Encore in that order for maximum uptime.
what about protect -> disable (-> encore) -> finish off? usually just for choice item users or people who play badly around valiant but worth a mention too
* Moonblast is a stronger and more free to use STAB option that hits Annihilape, Sableye, and Dragapult. Aura Sphere is weaker but allows it to hit Iron Bundle, Magnezone, and Arcanine for more damage. Arc (at least LO) can still lose if you don't have Aura Sphere, fun fact
* The Speed EVs allow Iron Valiant to outspeed Dragapult while having enough EVs for a Speed based Booster Energy. p sure maximum defense for struggle damage while still having speed booster is the more important part, and outspeeding pult is a useful side effect, rephrase slightly
* You should generally avoid possible matchups against faster Speed Booster Pokemon or Choice Scarf users like Iron Bundle, Walking Wake, and Meowscarada, while they can't guarantee an OHKO, neither can you with Moonblast. TIL scarf meow wins this most of the time (both phys and special) because of struggle damage and weak af moonblast after switching away from dark type
* Knowing when to Moonblast is also key information. Some Pokemon, like Calm Mind Espathra, can take advantage of Iron Valiant using Protect turn 1. Against Espathra you don't win this, Dragapult, and opposing Iron Valiant you should always use Moonblast turn 1 for the best chances of winning.

1/2 after implementation, gj

Against choice locked targets like Choice Specs Sylveon and Rotom-Wash use Protect Turn One followed by Disable.
Say Choice item Rotom Wash, I've seen it run Life Orb before.

One of the biggest things this analysis is missing is mentioning situations where you should not click Disable. This includes where Encoring a Pokemon into a weak attack or a status move.

will give 2/2 in dms.

* Protect allows Iron Valiant to scout the moves used before using Encore and Disable as well as being able to beat Slaking.
* Encore and Disable can be used in tandem with each (space) other to force foes to Struggle. Generally, (AC) you Iron Valiant will use Protect, Encore, Protect, Disable, and Encore in that order for maximum uptime. (what does "maximum uptime" actually mean?) Against choice locked Choice-locked targets like Choice Specs Sylveon and Choice item Rotom-Wash, (AC) use Protect Turn One turn 1, followed by Disable.
* Moonblast is a stronger and more free to use STAB option that hits Annihilape, Sableye, and Dragapult. Aura Sphere is weaker but allows it to hit Iron Bundle, Magnezone, and Arcanine for more damage.
* The Defense EVs allows allow Iron Valiant to take more hits from Struggle, (AC) while also having enough the Speed EVs and Booster Energy allow it to outspeed Dragapult with Booster Energy.
* You should generally avoid possible matchups against faster Speed Booster Pokemon like Iron Bundle and Walking Wake or Choice Scarf users like Iron Bundle, Walking Wake, and Meowscarada; (semicolon) while they can't guarantee an OHKO, neither can you Iron Valiant with Moonblast.
* Knowing when to use Moonblast is also key information. Some Pokemon, like Calm Mind Espathra, can take advantage of Iron Valiant using Protect turn 1. (so what do you do? do you click moonblast or just take the L?) Against Dragapult and opposing Iron Valiant, (AC) you Iron Valiant should always use Moonblast turn 1 for the best chances of winning.
* If you lock your opponent Iron Valiant locks the foe into a weak move or status move with Encore, do not use Disable, (AC) as you can repeat the Encore later on or go for the KO with Moonblast or Aura Sphere.
