New Typing: Bug/Flying
New BST: 80/60/75/100/75/85 | 475
New Abilities: Pure Power / Protean
Removed Moves: Brick Break, Focus Punch
New Moves: Lunge, Aeroblast, Belly Drum, Calm Mind
Description: Slow but powerful attacker, in the vein of ADV Marowak or ADV Medicham, however it can also go special w protean + calm mind, making it unique, it boasts over the extremely overpowered slow teams we have at the moment, while being very poor against offense if u dont get it in vs ttar, it could also turn the tides up and make weatherless viable again with Belly Drum/Swords Dance + Salac Berry, however its easy to prevent setup + hail/sand are everywhere, its kinda slowish and its stabs are walled by steels, i removed brick and focus so it wouldnt be able to cheese up those with its physical attacks, its typing is also bad as heck, being weak to rock/ice/fire/electric, so physical sets dont really have as much opportunities to switch into stuff, unlike both medicham and marowak in ADV OU, its cm set is the most consistent, however punished by its slow speed and okayish spa, altho the spa issue gets circunvented by protean giving stab, either way this is a cool mon that can play on both sides of the spectrum and while being offensively potent, its weird to take advantage of it while playing vs a offense, where everything steamrolls it due to poor typing and mediocre bulk, best vs stall/balance which is good for the tier cuz a lot of great teams are stallish or balanceish

New Abilities: Overcoat / Analytic
New Moves: Aurora Beam, Explosion
Description: outspeeds skarm uninvested and metagross invested and ties claydol. now has much better spd so you can switch into special attackers. does huge damage with analytic boosted tbolts and aurora beams and hp grasses/fires. can explode on blissey/celebi to bring in dugtrio. overcoat is flavor but if u hate hail u can run it

New Typing: Bug / Ice
New BST: 55 / 95 / 50 / 105 / 110 / 85 | 500
New Abilities: Levitate / Natural Cure
New Moves: Lunge, Ice Beam, Taunt
Description: we love ice mons we love ice mons. has nice coverage in thunder punch/giga drain and focus punch is guaranteed to ohko uninvested ttar and does a meaty 50.7% min to blissey. unfortunately falls short of the neutral 100 speed tier and has no setup to speak of (unless you go secret tech sd!!) but should be a good offensive pivot thing.

New Moves: Dragonbreath, Dragon Claw, Flamethrower, Fire Blast, Megahorn, Earthquake, Outrage, Mimic, Toxic, Hidden Power, Shock Wave, Nightmare, Dream Eater, Wish, Solarbeam, Return, Frustration
Description: A Dragon type mixed attacker with a fairly different movepool to that of Salamence. Carries wish support as well as Baton Pass for a potential subpass tech. No realistic idea how it'll perform - I'm just curious as to how a mixed attacker of this shape might perform in the tier. Neither of its offensive stats are that large.

1. Gallade

So let me actually elaborate on this one--Because Gallade's abilities don't exist in HG, I'm voting it in because it's ability would be trace! I think this would be an interesting pokemon due to all the cool abilities and functions it could pull off on a team(from levitating to reverse trapping) while being a physical threat! Trace is a sorely underutilized ability in all of pokemon, and this is actually one instance where it could really shine in a fun and interesting way.

Name: Magnezone
New Typing: Electric / Steel
New BST: 70 / 70 / 137 / 90 / 73 / 60 | BST: 500
New Abilities: Levitate
Description:
No longer is Magneton bound to the earth, nor other steels. It has EVOLVED into something far greater. Using the newest technology available to us we have boosted it's BST across the board and rerouted it's power from it's main magnets to propel itself off the earth and to create... A MONSTER! It flies, it zaps stuff, and most importantly it can tank a hit while also not being trapped by dug. It remains balanced by requiring investment to survive Fire Blasts from Tar and Salamence, while still being trapped by it's older brother Magneton, and it's new cousin A-Golem.

Levitate really does a lot for this pokemon, and it introduces a much needed physical stopgap that can also bring the hurt on the special side of things. Currently known there are a number of checks and counters, and at worst it'll force certain DD spammers to consider different options--Being forced to run Fire coverage or brick break more often. Inherently it creates more interest in the team builder for otherwise simple teams, the Magnezone player will also be stuck with the age old question--Do you use your coverage to hit Flygon, or Swampert?

Oh, also, it'll piss people off in the damage calc because of it's weird def and spd numbers. It's literally a win/win folks.

New Moves:
Pursuit (keeps Ursaring's movepool cause PLA movepools are weird)
Description: While it loses its brutal CB power it had while it was legal in the mod, it instead takes on an interesting role of Pursuiting. There was talk on the Discord about adding a pursuiter so I thought this would be neat. Early Bird + Rest lets it deal with wisp burns from Hellicent or Gengar and act as a decent way to heal while getting pelted by TSS/TSH. Outside of this, mixed SD with Fire Punch sounds cool, and SubPunch with Crunch could also be neat (101 HP subs). Its largest flaw is that it wants EVs everywhere; some speed can jump Tyranitar, max SpA covers Skarmory, attack helps SD or SubPunch and max HP is needed for 101 subs. Flavorwise, it evolves with the lunar cycle so there's obviously some noctural vibes going there for the type. Similar to how Umbreon works.

Abilities: Levitate / Cloud Nine
New Moves: Thunderbolt, Morning Sun, Lunge, Calm Mind
Description: Weird Electric. You can choose whether to be Dugtrio-immune or sand chip-immune, with the latter also making Morning Sun reliable if low on PP (and because Cloud Nine announces itself, no mind games). Not as fast or hard-hitting as Jolteon, can't trap like Magneton, and isn't Zapdos, but it can threaten Celebi and Salamence without using Hidden Power and set up with Calm Mind.

Vulnerable to Pursuit, but immunity to both Fighting and Ghost is very useful. I tried so hard to figure out a build where I could have given it either Hustle or Self-Destruct, because both would've been incredibly useful and fitting, but STAB Self-Destruct is just way too much and Hustle made it too easy to break Tyranitar with HP Fighting :(

Reintroduction Rework: Ema Skye
Ledian Rework: Anaconja

Reintroduction for me is between Zorz's zone and Ema but i really like the idea of a new pursuit trapper, especially one that abuses early bird. Ledian is super wack, idk how the pure power ledian is getting so much votes, that mon is nasty.

And of course, the qualifying reintroduction rework!

Name: Magnezone
New Typing: Electric / Steel
New BST: 70 / 70 / 137 / 90 / 73 / 60 | BST: 500

The reintroduction rework came down to a council tiebreak decision in the end, with Magnezone being the decided winner. These are to be added into the mod along with the upcoming update.

But now we must open Slate 15!

Slate 15: Old Gen, New Member
As previously mentioned, this is an open-ended slate, meaning you can submit whatever next-gen Pokemon you wish with as many changes as you desire. Hoenn Gaiden is beginning to get a little crowded now, but as it's been a year since we've had a true round of bringing Pokemon back, I'd like to offer an opportunity for everyone to submit whatever ideas they've had floating around for the past several months.

Here's the rules and guidelines:

  • You may submit up to THREE Pokemon ideas for this round. There's no restriction on the base species other than that the Pokemon must be fully evolved.
  • Submitted Pokemon must be from Gen 4 or later.
  • Submitted Pokemon must use moves, abilities and typings that are already available in the mod. Consult this spreadsheet for all newly introduced moves and abilities.
  • Submitted Pokemon are allowed to have changes to their original design in order to fit into Hoenn Gaiden more comfortably. Please do not over-abuse this privilege, for example by turning Ferrothorn into a Dragon / Fighting type with high offensive stats.
  • If a Pokemon has a signature move or ability (unique to its species line!), it is allowed to bring this into Hoenn Gaiden.
  • A number of aspects will be pre-vetoed. See below for the list.

These aspects are pre-vetoed:
Abilities: Magic Guard, Wonder Guard, Arena Trap, Shadow Tag, Magnet Pull, Sand Stream, Snow Warning, Drizzle, Drought, Desolate Land.
Moves: Tail Glow, Psycho Boost, Spikes, Bolt Beak, Fishous Rend, Geomancy, Lunar Dance, Steam Eruption, plus others at the council's discretion.
Stats: Base Attack and Special Attack cannot be above 135.

Other things to note: we will be strict on the justification of the following moves, as they have a significant chance to warp the tier:
Superpower, Will-o-wisp, Knock Off, Recover (and similar)

There are of course exceptions to the above, such as Pokemon who ordinarily get those moves ('naturally' being the key word here), so please message me or another council member if you want to check something!

There are also some signature abilities that are pre-vetoed as well, honestly too many to name, so please use common sense when submitting or just consult me if you're unsure on where an ability stands in terms of strength. Stuff like Illusion, Disguise, Ice Face, and pretty much every legendary signature ability is off the table, for example.

Please use the template below when submitting:
Code:

Deadline is this weekend (30-31 October) - no hard date/time but I'll give out ample warning before the submissions are about to close. Have fun!

Name: Bisharp
Type: Dark / Steel
Base Stats: 75 HP (+10) / 90 Atk (-35) / 100 Def / 115 SpA (+55) / 70 SpD / 70 Spe
Abilities: Shed Skin / Pressure
Removed Moves: Knock Off, Spite, Low Kick
New Moves: Focus Punch, Foul Play, Rock Slide, Sucker Punch

Description: I think I've had this idea for over a year and I finally have a chance to submit it. The concept is that Bisharp can fit on spikes balance teams as an aid to remove ghost types while relieving the pressure from Tyranitar of being both the weather setter and the Pursuit trapper all at the same time. Obvious downside is that it's Dugtrio weak, kinda, though it gets Sucker Punch thanks to previous slates meaning that Dugtrio isn't the most consistent way of revenging it. It also has to rely on HP Dark to consistently hit Dark types harder which isn't ideal. Basically, its movepool as well as its only decent-ish defensive stats serve a very specific role in trapping ghosts on teams that are strongly focused on winning spikes on the field.

(Notable Moves: Brick Break, Focus Punch, Foul Play, Hidden Power Dark, Pursuit, Sucker Punch, Taunt, Thief, Thunder Wave)

:sm/komala:
Name: Komala
Type: Normal
Base Stats: 95 (+30) / 115 / 65 / 75 / 95 / 65
Abilities: Comatose
Removed Moves: Knock Off, Superpower, Swords Dance
New Moves: Body Slam, Double Edge, Focus Punch, Sucker Punch

Description: Comatose would be very cool status immunity in a tier where status is progress. To me at least, Komala just sort of naturally feels like it belongs here - though I buffed its HP stat so it stands some merit when compared to Snorlax beyond just blocking Gengar / Jellicent Wisp while having Rapid Spin at the same time.

(Notable moves: Brick Break, Body Slam, Bulk Up, Earthquake, Frustration, Hidden Power, Rapid Spin, Return, Rock Slide, Toxic, Wish)

New Moves: Lunge, Earthquake, Sand Tomb, Rock Slide, Baton Pass, Whirlwind
Relevant Moves:
Attack Order, Lunge, Earthquake, Rock Slide
Heal Order, Toxic, Whirlwind, Baton Pass
Description: THE slow baton passer with NO weaknesses to rock/ground/bug. having heal order as reliable recovery is amazing, attack order can be a serviceable stab but is largely outclassed by lunge, and defend order sucks as usual. its bulk allows it to narrowly avoid a 2hko from zapdos' hp ice if its only max hp invested but obv not a great idea to do. bug/ground is not terribly passive but when mence/gyarados/etc inevitably come in you can toxic them and/or phaze them out.

Swords Dance, Moonlight, Morning Sun, Agility
Description: the weirdest ddancer, as it has eq/rock slide/brick break but no stab on any of them. it also has photon! watch as you cleave through crab like butter. unfortunately you have pretty bad 4mss cause you also want hp bug too for celebi/claydol.
you can also do some weird mixed set with like phys photon/eq/heat wave/filler to like hit a lot of stuff idk

Name: Druddigon

New BST: 87 / 120 / 90 / 90 / 90 / 48 | 525
New Abilities: Rough Skin / Mold Breaker
Relevant Moves:
Earthquake, Rock Slide, Superpower, HP Bug, Sludge Bomb
Dragon Claw, Crunch, Sucker Punch, Pursuit, Flamethrower, Surf, Thunder Punch
Glare, Taunt
Description: everyone loves their mold breaker. it allows eq to hit valuable targets such as the new magnezone. this mon also just has ridiculously wide coverage allowing for it to do a lot of things like pursuit trapping (it can trap jellicent because it resists water. poggers). although its piss slow it remedies that through glare. overall just a creatura thatll probably live in the walls of the meta.
