[SET COMMENTS]
Lightning Rod + Electrify is a deadly combination that makes Heilolisk effectively immune to attacks and status moves from anything slower than it and allows it to boost at the same time. Electrify is the keystone of the set, converting opposing moves into Electric-type moves that are absorb by Lightning Rod. Charge Beam is the STAB move of choice, as it boosts Special Attack even if the opponent switches to avoid Electrify. Substitute punishes switches and eases predictions, allowing for the safer use of Charge Beam. Hyper Voice provides coverage against common foes like Landorus-T and Zarude that resist Charge Beam. Since Heliolisk forces a tremendous number of free turns and utilizes Substitute, Leftovers provides significant recovery.

Heliolisk fits best on bulky offense teams that appreciate its ability to stop slower Pokemon such as Garchomp and Terrakion in their tracks and use them as set up fodder. It is weak to fast offensive Pokemon like Barraskewda and Tapu Koko, so sturdy defensive Pokemon like Ferrothorn that can switch into their STAB moves are good teammates. Due to its poor bulk, Heliolisk pairs well with defensive pivots such as Corviknight and Blissey who can help it enter the field safely. Heliolisk likes partners like Garchomp and Mew who can set entry hazard to help it wear down its checks and punish foes that attempt to avoid Electrify by switching. Even when fully boosted, Heliolisk struggles to break Chansey which can pivot with Teleport into a strong attacker such as Tapu Koko, so Fighting-type Pokemon such as Terrakion and Galarian Zapdos that can threaten it are useful partners.

Other Options
=============

Heliolisk has no other viable options.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fast Pivots**: Fast pivots such as Barraskewda, Azelf, and Tapu Koko all outspeed Heliolisk, denying it the chance to use Electrify, and can all OHKO it. However, Heliolisk can also threaten these Pokemon, forcing them to pivot if Barrakskewda is behind a Substitute.

**Ground-types*: Ground-types are immune to Charge Beam, and paired with an RegenVest user or a sturdy special wall can PP stall Heliolisk.

**Steel-types not weak to Electric**: Steel-types that do not fear Heliolisk's Electric-types moves such as Volt Absorb Corviknight and Ferrothorn can PP stall Heliolisk, with the former being able to set up with Bulk Up and the latter being able to set hazards.

Lighting Rod Heliolisk, everyone's favorite Pokemon to play against, uses the strategy of Lighting Rod + Electrify to effectively beat every Pokemon it outspeeds Lightning Rod + Electrify is a deadly combination that makes Heilolisk effectively immune to attacks and status moves from anything slower than it and allows it to boost at the same time. Electrify is the keystone of the set, turning all opposing moves into Electric-type, stopping any incoming attacks and raising Heliolisk's Special Attack converting opposing moves into Electric-type moves that are absorb by Lightning Rod. Charge Beam is the STAB move of choice as it has a chance to raise Special Attack at the cost of less damage than Thunderbolt choice, as it boosts Special Attack even if the opponent switches to avoid Electrify. Substitute blocks status moves like Toxic that would otherwise cripple Heliolisk punishes switches and eases predictions, allowing for the safer use of Charge Beam., while also letting it safely take an attack from a faster opponent. Hyper Voice is Heliolisk's main source of damage, hitting most of the metagame for neutral damage provides coverage against common foes like Landorus-T and Zarude that resist Charge Beam. Leftovers are used to keep Heliolisk healthy and to increase the number of times it can use Substitute Since Heliolisk forces a tremendous number of free turns and utilizes Substitute, Leftovers provides significant recovery.
