Dig? Oh Gamefreak, you delightful scamp. But in all seriousness, not utter crap.

Charjabug may be fine with Eviolite in doubles, but it seems to know very little in terms of support and I don't think it can do much meaninful damage.

Vikavolt's massive Sp.Attack and okay defenses seem offset by its speed and a movepool with Thunderbolt, Bug Buzz, Energy Ball, Roost, Volt Switch and not much else. It may have to tools to do alright though. Ground Immunity is interesting too, although most Ground-types (and some Steel-types) carry a Rock-type move.

I'm shocked Vikavolt's speed is this low. Fortunately it gets Agility to somewhat patch that up. How would a set with Agility/Bug Buzz/Thunderbolt/Volt Switch perform?

Vikavolt's low speed makes me really sad. It also makes zero sense from a Pokedex standpoint, because the dex talks about its high speed and aerial maneuvering skills. You had one job and you failed horribly, Vikavolt, especially with such a barren movepool. At least it has a cool shiny.

ok so ive been thinking about sets for vikavolt, so far it seems like a wallbreaker for sure. So with its stats at 77/70/90/145/75/45, there is a decent amount of HP, Defense, and a monsterous SPA. Its slow AF. but it has decent power and a great moveset to boot. Lets compare this to some of the more prevalent walls in OU, specifically, stall mons. Obvious moves that are going to be used are T-Bolt, Bug Buzz, and even HP-Ice. Last slot has plenty of good options in air slash, flash cannon, energy ball, agility for speed, volt switch for pivoting, it even gets mud shot from breeding! Since Vikavolt is so slow, we cant reliably use volt switch on it since its defenses arent the best and has a lack of recovery. The sucky part of it is purely the speed. It needs a choice scarf, max speed with a timid nature just to hit 310 at level 100! Then you are just passing mons with without major investment from base 100s. Some important Calcs vs walls of OU.

Note, i used Galvantula in place of vikivolt on the calculator, so read galvantula as vikivolt

252+ SpA Choice Specs Galvantula Bug Buzz vs. 248 HP / 92 SpD Amoonguss: 282-333 (65.4 - 77.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Black Sludge recovery

252+ SpA Choice Specs Galvantula Thunderbolt vs. 252 HP / 84+ SpD Clefable: 238-282 (60.4 - 71.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

252+ SpA Choice Specs Galvantula Bug Buzz vs. 252 HP / 168 SpD Ferrothorn: 201-237 (57.1 - 67.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

252+ SpA Choice Specs Galvantula Bug Buzz vs. 252 HP / 112 SpD Hippowdon: 297-351 (70.7 - 83.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

252+ SpA Choice Specs Galvantula Thunderbolt vs. 252 HP / 224+ SpD Jirachi: 193-228 (47.7 - 56.4%) -- 28.9% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

252+ SpA Choice Specs Galvantula Thunderbolt vs. 252 HP / 144+ SpD Mega Sableye: 186-220 (61.1 - 72.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252+ SpA Choice Specs Galvantula Thunderbolt vs. 252 HP / 176 SpD Mega Slowbro: 516-608 (130.9 - 154.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO

252+ SpA Choice Specs Galvantula Bug Buzz vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Assault Vest Tangrowth: 378-446 (93.5 - 110.3%) -- 62.5% chance to OHKO

252+ SpA Choice Specs Galvantula Bug Buzz vs. 248 HP / 144 SpD Mega Venusaur: 199-235 (54.8 - 64.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252+ SpA Choice Specs Galvantula Thunderbolt vs. 248 HP / 180+ SpD Zapdos: 216-255 (56.3 - 66.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

NOTHING wants to switch into this thing with a choice specs set. So my thoughts are a pretty simple 252 SPA, 252 Speed, 4 SPD with Thunderbolt, Bug Buzz, HP Ice, volt switch. Life orb also seems like a good idea alongside using agility in the last slot, requires the set up turn but if you get it off with a positive nature, you are looking at 414 speed.

What happened gamefreak?

How is badass flying stagbeetle slower a giraffe palmtree. I think some one screwed up the stats.

I actually think Zap Cannon could be decent on this thing since it would hit like a total nuke and annilate everything in site and patch up its speed somewhat even though it only have 50% accuracy. It also can be effective in TR.

Why would Zap cannon be good? Its only marginally stronger than thunderbolt, and is severely outclassed by thunder if you want an inaccurate nuke.

It is a very risky move but I am saying with the few pokemon that get Zap Cannon that vikavolt would be the best user since it has incredible special atk and it pretty slow and could catch non ground types off guard and outspeed the next turn and KO them. Thunder is a better alternative with rain. Thunder only has a 30% of paralysing though. Agility as mentioned is also a option but it may have issues finding a free turn as its weak to SR and it has decent bulk at best.

Paralysis only halves speed this gen. With only 43 speed, there isn't much he can outspeed even after paralysis.

Adding too this, with a Timid nature and fully invested speed, it hits a speed stat of 406 with Agility. That lets it outspeed 135s and below
But the question becomes: what does it set up on? Its defense isnt the greatest and it hates special attackers. Thats my only real problem with agility on it

"Escavlier flies around at high speeds" -Pokedex

I'm starting to think Rotom-Pokedex drank a bit too much when creating some descriptions

But damn only good stat is a huge Sp. Atk with somewhat closed coverage options coupled with slow speed and pretty fragile defenses. I predict a... RU? It ain't gonna be OU for sure, have my doubts about UU but maybe it goes to RU/BL2
