Gliscor

[OVERVIEW]

Gliscor is the premier defensive Ground-type of the tier being a staple on bulky offense, balance and stall teams alike. It uses its incredible longevity in the combination of Poison Heal and Roost as well as its crucial Speed tier to check dangerous threats like Heatran, Infernape and Lucario. It is also an excellent pivot utilizing U-turn to retain momentum and bring in hard hitting teammates like Alakazam, Weavile, Infernape and Crawdaunt. Gliscor also provides unique utility to its team being one of the few defoggers in the tier. It can utilize Defog to beat Stealth Rock setters in Heatran, Jirachi and Tyranitar. It can also act as a solid Stealth Rock setter itself instead as it gets many opportunities to set it up on Pokemon it forces out. Alongside Roost, Poison Heal provides Gliscor with excellent longevity, making it hard very hard to chip. Gliscor acts as a great Knock Off absorber and a deterrent to Trick Rotom-Wash thanks to its Toxic Orb. On the other hand, Gliscor tends to struggle against special threats like Latias and Rotom-Wash and finds itself walled by physically defensive Pokemon like Milotic, Slowbro and Rotom-Wash and Skarmory.

[SET COMMENTS]

Gliscor can act as either a Defogger that can switch in on and outlast hazard setters like Tyranitar, Roserade, Heatran and Jirachi while still being able to Defog against those with access to recovery like Skarmory and Clefable. Alternatively, it can act as a Stealth Rock setter whose good longevity allows it to set Stealth Rock multiple times throughout the course of a game. U-turn allows Gliscor to gain momentum and bring in hard hitting teammates that struggle to switch-in like Alakazam, Infernape and Weavile while shrugging off Stealth Rock damage thanks to Poison Heal. Knock Of punishes switchins by getting rid of their items, which is detrimental for Pokemon like Rotom-Wash, Milotic, and Latias further establishing its ability to outlast its checks. 120 Speed EVs allow it to outspeed Timid Heatran and Adamant Lucario, OHKOing them with Earthquake while 244 HP EVs maximize recovery from Poison Heal. 144 Special Defense lets it sponge hits better from special attackers like Heatran and Magnezone.

Rotom-Wash is notorious for often pairing up with Gliscor, as together they provide a VoltTurn core with complimentary types that allow them to cover each other's weaknesses, with Rotom-Wash answering Azumarill and Feraligatr and Gliscor beating Solar Beam Heatran and checking Magnezone. Scizor makes an excellent pairing for Gliscor checking Pokémon that threaten it like Weavile and Latias, while Gliscor covers Heatran and Infernape. Grass-types like Breloom, Celebi and Tangrowth make for excellent pairings as they are able to check Water-type Pokemon like Crawdaunt and Feraligatr. Pokemon that have trouble manually switching in like Weavile and Alakazam appreciate Gliscor's ability to absorb priority moves and pivot into them with U-turn.

[SET COMMENTS]

Swords Dance Gliscor trades its utility to function as a potent win condition. It utilizes its excellent longevity in Poison Heal and Roost to outlast its checks and beat them in the long term. The combination of Earthquake and Facade provide Gliscor with coverage nearly unresisted by the tier, making it harder to consistently wall. Facade is great coverage for hitting Pokemon like Rotom-W and Tangrowth.

Due to the lack of support moves it runs, Swords Dance Gliscor best fits on balance teams that are able to support it via hazards in Toxic Spikes or Spikes as it helps Gliscor in chipping the opposing team harder and faster. Partners like Rotom-Wash, Tangrowth, Roserade and Celebi make excellent pairings checking Water-types. Scizor supports Gliscor by answering strong offensive Pokemon like Latias and Weavile which otherwise threaten it. Pokemon that aid Gliscor in pressuring its checks in Skarmory, Rotom-Wash and Tangrowth like Weavile and Dragonite provide much appreciated support for Gliscor to break through them.

Other Options

Slower Gliscor spreads can be utilized to invest more into its Defense or Special Defense to boost its bulk and provide a slower U-turn, allowing it to tank hits like Infernape's Overheat or Choice Band Flare Blitz depending on which defensive stat is invested into and U-turning last against opposing Gliscors, which provides it with an advantage in momentum. However, this leaves Gliscor vulnerable to hits like Lucario's Swords Dance boosted Meteor Mash and Offensive Heatran's Magma Storm and Overheat. Taunt allows Gliscor to stop most attempts at getting hazards up or defogging them away and also allows it to completely shut down Skarmory, which can be useful on hazard stack teams. Knock Off can be ran on Swords Dance sets over Facade to remove Skarmory's Shed Shell and trap it with Magnezone. However, this significantly reduces Gliscor's coverage and damage output. Ice Fang allows Gliscor to threaten opposing Gliscor and Garchomp, but is generally unable to fit it into its movepool

Checks and Counters
===================

**Water-types**: Feraligatr and Starmie can set up on Gliscor with Dragon Dance or remove hazards with Rapid Spin respectively. Other Water-types like Choice Band Azumarill and Crawdaunt threaten to OHKO it and its partners. Rotom-W threatens Gliscor out with Hydro Pump, giving it an opportunity to use Volt Switch or Will-O-Wisp on the incoming Pokemon. However, these listed Pokemon cannot always switch into Gliscor and are usually outlasted.

**Ice-types and Ice-type coverage moves**: Weavile and Mamoswine are able to OHKO Gliscor with their STAB. Ice Beam Blissey prevents Gliscor from setting up on it, forcing it to spam Roost. However, due to their vulnerability to entry hazards and inability to directly switch into Gliscor, it can outlast them throughout a game thanks to its longevity.

**Physical Walls**: Skarmory, Milotic, Quagsire, and Slowbro can tank Gliscor's moves and force it out with Scald, Ice Beam and Whirlwind respectively while being hard to wear down due to their access to recovery.

Gliscor is a unique Ground-type Pokemon that fulfills a variety of roles like?. Thanks to its high Speed tier for a defensive presence, it checks dangerous threats like Heatran and Lucario with ease, while utilizing U-turn to get out of bad situations vs. its checks like Rotom-Wash, The Lati twins and Skarmory and bring in hard hitting teammates that exploit these Pokemon to gain momentum. Gliscor also is one of the few great methods of Hazard removal and can also act as a solid Stealth rocker Rock setter thanks to its ability Poison Heal and access to Roost, the former letting it absorb Status and Knock Off after it had been activated. This insane amount of longevity allows it to outlast its checks very commonly and it has established itself as one of, if not the best Ground-type in the tier, reserving a slot on both Offensive and Bulky teams alike. you should mention flaws gliscor has, i.e. being overwhelmed by special attackers, sd sets struggling vs. some defensive mons (namely skarm, rotom-w, etc.)

Paragraph 1

With this set, Gliscor digs into its supportive movepool acting mainly as a Defogger, being able to come in on many of hazard setters like Skarmory, Heatran and Jirachi while packing the longevity to outlast most of them allows it to function as a great form of hazard control. However, it can also be its own Stealth rocker Rock setter, as it once again abuses its sheer longevity to set up Stealth Rocks on forced switchins, racking up chip damage for its team. U-turn allows Gliscor to bring in hard hitting teammates for free, punishing levitating Pokemon for trying to switch into Earthquake, namely the Lati twins and getting out of bad situations like a Rotom-Wash coming in on it, all in one slot. Knock Off allows Gliscor to ditch the pivoting on Bulky teams and punish switch-ins harder by getting rid of their item, further insisting on its ability to outlast its checks. Earthquake and 120 Spe investment allows it to outspeed Timid Heatran and Adamant Lucario, OHKOing them before they get the chance to act and forcing them to switch out. 244 HP presents a Poison Heal number to maximize its recovery while 144 Special Defense lets it sponge hits better.

Paragraph 2
Rotom-Wash is known for often pairing up with Gliscor as together they provide a VoltTurning defensive core with complimentary Types that allow them to cover each other's weakesses. Following the same vein Scizor makes an excellent pairing thanks to it checking Pokémon that threaten Gliscor out like Weavile and Latios while Gliscor covers Heatran. Grass types like Breloom, Shaymin and Tangrowth make for excellent pairings as Water-Types are notoriously dangerous they are able to check Water-types like Rotom-W and Crawdaunt. Pokemon that have trouble manually switching in like Weavile and Alakazam appreciate Gliscor's ability to absorb priority moves, threaten switches and U-turn out into them.

Slower Gliscor spreads can be ran to invest more into its bulk and for a slower U-turn, however this is not recommended as it leaves Gliscor vulnerable to Lucario's Swords Dance boosted Meteor Mash and Timid heatran's Magma storm and Overheat. Taunt allows Gliscor to prevent Stealth Rocks from being set up at all, which could be useful on Spikes stack teams, but due to moveset constraints, this is usually a bad choice. Ice fang allows Gliscor to threaten foe Gliscor and Garchomp, but due to its lack of investment and moveslot constraints, this is usually unpreferred.

there’s only one oo section for the entire analysis, so move this with the later one

Paragraph 1

This set allows Gliscor to go on the offensive mention how and where it can find set up opportunities with swords dance. Earthquake and Facade offer coverage nearly unresisted by the tier. The former is your general a strong STAB move, allowing you to still check hitting Infernape, Heatran, and Lucario, and other Pokemon which, combined with its bulk and speed which lets it take a hit and outspeed most of what it threatens out grants it defensive utility against these threats. The latter is great coverage for hitting Pokémon like Rotom-Wash, Tangrowth and catching them off guard, thanks to Gliscor's bulk and sheer longevity with Poison Heal and Roost. It can set up on the face of defensive Pokémon and go through them with sheer brute force. However, this set lacks the utility in the form of not being able to Knock off items, Defog, U-turn or set up Stealth Rocks and can be forced out with strong offensive pressure and so it faces competition from fellow offensive Ground-types namely Garchomp and Mamoswine.

Paragraph 2
Usual Gliscor partners like Rotom-Wash, Scizor and grass types make for an excellent pairing with Scizor. While Pokémon that force damage on Gliscor's checks like Weavile and Dragonite provide much appreciated support for Gliscor to do work.

this part could use some elaboration, mainly how it fits on bulky offense/balance teams as a bulky wincon.

Knock Off can be used instead of Facade to force Skarmory to come in and get rid of its Shed Shell, allowing it to trap and get rid of it with Choice Specs Magnezone. However, this is not ideal as you will lose out on power and coverage.

Physical walls: Skarmory, Tangrowth, and Slowbro etc. tank Gliscor's combination of moves and retaliate with moves like Spikes, Knock Off/Giga Drain and Scald or Ice Beam respectively.

Gliscor also is one of the few great methods of hazard removal and can also act as a solid Stealth Rock setter thanks to its ability Poison Heal which makes it an amazing Knock Off absorber after it's been activated by its Toxic Orb and access to Roost again this drags out for too long, just get the point across rlly. This insane amount of longevity allows it to outlast its checks very commonly and it has established itself as one of the premier Ground-types in the tier, reserving a slot on most archetypes in offense, bulky offense, balance, and stall. However Gliscor tends to struggle against premier special threats like Latios and Rotom-W and tends to struggle against Pokemon like Rotom-Wash, Slowbro and Skarmory. avoid the repetition here

With this set, Gliscor digs into its support movepool. It acts mainly as a Defogger, being able to come in on many of hazard setters like Skarmory, Heatran and Jirachi while packing the longevity to outlast most of them like Roserade fix up this sentence, rose is so random, either nuke it or mention it in the first 3, could also seperate the ones u can outlast (tran rachi chomp) and the ones u cant (skarm, opposing glisc). It can also be its act as a Stealth rock setter as it abuses its longevity to set up Stealth Rock on forced switchins, racking up chip damage for its team and outlasting opposing defoggers and spinners. U-turn allows Gliscor get out of bad situations and providing a free switch to hard hitting teammates like? that struggle to switch in while punishing Pokemon trying to switch into Earthquake like Rotom-W, Latios and Latias again drags on too long, and is v repetitive like the overview. Knock Off allows Gliscor punish switch-ins harder by getting rid of their item like Rotom-W's Leftovers or Choice Scarf and Azumarill's Sitrus Berry or Choice Band, further establishing its ability to outlast its checks. Its 120 Speed EVs allows it to outspeed Timid Heatran and Adamant Lucario, OHKOing them with Earthquake while 244 HP EVs presents a Poison Heal number to maximize its recovery. 144 Special Defense lets it sponge hits better FROM WHAT BROTHER? also mention putting the 144 in physdef asw as an option and what it does.

Rotom-W is notorious for often pairing up with Gliscor as together they provide a VoltTurn core with complimentary types that allow them to cover each other's weakesses like Rotom-W checking Azumarill and Feraligatr while Gliscor counters Solar Beam Heatran and checks Magnezone. Swords Dance allows Scizor to function as a potent win condition, being able to outlast its checks and beat them in the long term. This set allows Gliscor to go on the offensive and be a wincon, being able to abuse its sheer longevity of Roost and Poison Heal to set up on Pokemon that it checks like Heatran and defensive Pokemon that can't break it easily like opposing Gliscor and Scizor. Earthquake and Facade offer coverage nearly unresisted by the tier, making Gliscor harder to consistently wall. The former is a strong STAB move, hitting Infernape, Heatran, and Lucario non of these r staying in, reword this to smtg like “… STAB move, allowing it to still check Infernape, Heatran, and Lucario…” while the latter is great coverage for hitting Pokemon like Rotom-W and Tangrowth. However, this set lacks the utility in the form of not being able to Knock Off items, Defog, U-turn, or set up Stealth Rocks ur making this set sound garbage LOL if u want to include this u can prolly include it at the start of para 1 on smtg like “Swords Dance Gliscor trades in the support options of U-Turn and Defog to function as a potent win condition …” and can be easily overwhelmed by strong offensive pressure which forces it out. It also faces heavy competition from fellow offensive Ground-types Garchomp and Mamoswine. x

Like any Gliscor set, partners like Rotom-Wash, Scizor and grass types make for an excellent pairing with it. While Pokémon that force damage on Gliscor's checks like Weavile and Dragonite exerting pressure on Skarmory and Tangrowth provide much appreciated support for Gliscor to break through them. Due to the lack of support moves it runs, it best fits on balance teams since they don't focus as much on pivoting. this sentence shld be the first sentence, also the reasoning is weird + wack, change it to like “bc balance can support it as a wincon and appreciate it wearing down xxxx” idk smtg like that, mention HAZARDS these r big to wear down its checkos, tspikes r rlly cool as well yeah oml,

Gliscor also provides unique utility to its team being one of the few Defogg users in the tier. It can utilize Defog to , (AC) beating common Stealth Rock setters in Heatran, Jirachi and Tyranitar. It can also act as a solid Stealth Rock setter itself instead, (AC) as it gets has many opportunities to set it up on Pokemon it forces out. Alongside Roost, Poison Heal provides Gliscor with excellent longevity, making it hard very hard to chip. Gliscor acts as a great Knock Off absorber and a deterrent to Trick Rotom-Wash thanks to its Toxic Orb. On the other hand However, Gliscor tends to struggle against special threats like Latias and Rotom-Wash and finds itself walled by physically defensive Pokemon like Milotic, Slowbro and Rotom-Wash and Skarmory. Gliscor also faces competition from Garchomp due to its superior offensive presence making it more capable at wallbreaking than Gliscor. In addition to this, it's typing leaves it weak to prominent offensive Pokemon like Weavile, Feraligatr, Starmie, and Crawdaunt.

move 2: U-turn / Knock Off
move 3: Roost
move 4: Stealth Rock / Defog
item: Toxic Orb
ability: Poison Heal
nature: Jolly
evs: 244 HP / 144 SpD / 120 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

Gliscor can act as either a Defogg user that can switch in on and outlast hazard setters like Tyranitar, Roserade, Heatran and Jirachi while still being able to Defog remove hazards against those with access to recovery like Skarmory and Clefable.

Scizor makes an excellent pairing for Gliscor, (AC) checking Pokémon that threaten it like Weavile and Latias, while Gliscor covers Heatran and Infernape. Grass-types like Breloom, Celebi and Tangrowth make for excellent pairings as they are able to check Water-type Pokemon like Crawdaunt and Feraligatr. Pokemon that have trouble manually switching in like Weavile and Alakazam appreciate Gliscor's ability to absorb priority moves and pivot into bring them in with U-turn.

name: Swords Dance
move 1: Earthquake
move 2: Facade
move 3: Roost
move 4: Swords Dance

[SET COMMENTS]

Swords Dance Gliscor trades its utility to function as a potent win condition. It utilizes employs its defensive utility and its excellent longevity in with Poison Heal and Roost to outlast its checks and beat them in the long term. The combination of Earthquake and Facade provide Gliscor with coverage nearly unresisted coverage by the tier, making it harder to consistently wall. Facade is great coverage for hitting Pokemon like Rotom-W and Tangrowth. It also provides nearly unresisted coverage when combined with Earthquake.

Due to the lack of support moves it runs,
Swords Dance Gliscor best fits on balance teams that are able to support it via hazards in Toxic Spikes or Spikes as it helps Gliscor in chipping the opposing team harder and faster.

=============
Slower Gliscor spreads can be utilized to invest more into its Defense or Special Defense to boost its bulk and provide a slower U-turn, allowing it to tank hits like Infernape's Overheat or Choice Band Flare Blitz depending on which defensive stat is invested into and U-turning going last against opposing Gliscors, which provides it with an advantage in momentum with U-turn. However, this leaves Gliscor vulnerable to hits like Lucario's Swords Dance boosted Meteor Mash and Offensive Heatran's Magma Storm and Overheat. Taunt allows Gliscor to stop most attempts at getting hazards up or defogging removing them away and also allows it to completely shut down Skarmory, which can be useful on hazard stack teams. Knock Off can be ran on Swords Dance sets over Facade to remove Skarmory's Shed Shell and trap it with Magnezone. However, this significantly reduces Gliscor's coverage and damage output. Ice Fang allows Gliscor to threaten opposing Gliscor and Garchomp, but is generally unable to fit it into its movepool.

Checks and Counters
===================

However, these listed Pokemon cannot always switch into Gliscor and are usually can be outlasted.

**Ice-types and Ice-type coverage moves**: Weavile and Mamoswine are able to OHKO Gliscor with their STABs. Ice Beam Blissey prevents Gliscor from setting up on it, forcing it to spam Roost. However, due to their vulnerability to entry hazards and inability to directly switch into Gliscor, it can outlast them throughout a game thanks to its longevity.

**Physical Walls**: Skarmory, Milotic, Quagsire, and Slowbro can tank Gliscor's moves and force it out with Scald, Ice Beam and Whirlwind respectively while being hard to wear down due to their access to recovery.

not qc anymore but wldnt really say it facing competition from chomp is that important of a point since they are basically the only 2 viable grounds, it rlly just depends on the team comp they dont overlap much in terms of roles outside of ground type.

investing more into defense should also be mentioned somewhere imo, either in oo or in the ev spreads for the sets themselves in order to check ape better which is big for teams.

and more emphasis on how much you forgoe when running slower spreads, as you lose the ability to check phys threats such as luc / special threats such as heatran well depending on what you invest in, ie you take the speed and dump it in physdef to check ape and stuff better, now you dont even check tran whereas even phys invested glisc if you had the invest you could still check it well enough as you’re faster

not an official check as mentioned but just smtg to keep in mind abt adding^^

I do not agree with a couple of things above, instead i would like these to be included.

in Overview >

Mention that its a status absorber allowin it to have great utility versus things like Spore Breloom, Will o Wisp Rotoms and Heatrans aswell as being immune to twave too. Just make sure its actived the toxic orb and u good to go

Mention that it has a different, more defensive / pivoting / utility role than Garchomp so it doesnt have to compete for the ground type slot. Instead its chosen over Garchomp in scenarios u prefer the sturdier, more defensive approach than the fast, more offensive and strong hitting Garchomp.

It doesnt struggle vs special attackers with the correct investment, it struggles vs the x4 times effective ice type atks that often these Special attackers run aswell as the plethora of strong offensive or bulky water types like Rotom, Feraligatr, Starmie, Slowbro, Ice beam latias etc. With the correct investment it can live even the strongest of special non super effective hits like Specs Draco from Lati and Psychics from Alakazam.

Set1 >

i want the first set to be Utility Gliscor but with the standard mixed defenses evspread, its the most reliable set and usually fits better bulky offensive builds, it allows you to make use of Gliscor vs the majority of pokemons except the ones that have super effective stabs or ice coverage. Its an all in one check to many things with alot of utilities and its main moves are EQ Roost (those almost never go) U-Turn / Knock off, Stealth Rocks / Defog and it often runs this evspread:

Gliscor @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
EVs: 248 HP / 124 Def / 120 SpD / 16 Spe
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- Roost
- U-Turn / Knock Off
- Stealth Rock / Defog
with Impish Nature hitting 348 Defense

This is enough Defense for Ada LO Lucario, Infernape, Garchomp and LO scizor. Spdef for Heatran, Non ice beam Latias, Rotom-W and Zam.
Speed is for Jolly Crawdaunt and Offensive LO Scizor while still gettin slow uturns vs opposing Gliscors and Jirachis

When it comes to Speed u can make it faster with many different speed tiers like 240 for breloom and minspeed jirachis, 255 for modest specs Heatrans and defensive variants of Rotom, 279 for timid tran and even higher but that is at a huge cost of bulk and general utility. As a fast ground type user meant to outspeed threats and check them u better if using Garchomp.

You can also run other more viable defensive sets focusing and aiming to deal with less threats but more reliably. You can do 244 HP, 248 Defense 16 Speed to obviously be alot more reliable versus physical attackers or you can do a spdef one with 248 HP 52 Defense 192 Spdef and 16 Speed for special attackers like Heatran, Rotom.W and Magnezone.

Set2

Gliscor @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
EVs: 248 HP / 52 Def / 192 SpD / 16 Spe
Careful Nature
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake / Taunt
- Facade
- Roost

This set is a Gliscor classic back since ORAS, its an incredible tool versus more defensive teams while still providing alot of resistances vs offensive squads too.
This set cant afford to go physdef or fast tho, spdef is absolutely must otherwise u get your setup completely shutdown by anything even the likes of tangrowth and offensive Heatran.
Taunt is slashed next to EQ for a Mono Facade type of set, its another ORAS lookin set but with similar advantages. EQ is only by alittle bit stronger than Facade and it has only a tiny few advantages. 2 Mains ones to be specific, Specs Magnezone and Lucario. Not having EQ vs those could lead to trouble with a spdef drop or a meteor mash boost and requires u to get a couple of boosts to beat them. It means tho that u have the extremely valuable Taunt.
Taunt mono facade is incredible at 1v1 on its own whole ass stall teams. You can shut down and beat even things like Unaware Clefable, Blissey and Celebi aswell as partner this thing with Spikes and Stealthrocks and prevent defoggers like Spdef Scizor from defogging them away. This makes the set incredible in offensive builds with hazards and powerful pokes and setups because its a reliable Stall breaker that provides key resistances and immunities for offensive builds aswell as Taunt support to keep your hazards aswell as prevent their too.
Otherwise EQ Facade is also v fine, you can mention Ice Fang for the nasty freeze chance allowing it to beat 1v1 many would be checks aswell as beating easily SD Garchomp, Gliscors and grass types like Tang and Celebi.

Other Options >

I want 1 more thing for Gliscor included. Its the Fling Toxic orb. Toxic in this generation is extremely rare but v valuable so a pokemon that can do that is super cool. Its a set that would fit v defensive teams, would replace Knock off or Uturn but it has v valuable trades for those defensive teams. You can get key, unexpected toxics vs defensive water and grass types like Slowbro, Tangrowth, Rotom-W and Suicune.
Its main thing tho is stopping the unstoppable Unaware Cosmic Power Clefable set. Its one of the best ways you can do that and its huge for balance teams that usually rely on unaware clefable to get good moonblast drops and not get crit to maybe check it.

Great analysis tho and with those changes included im gonna be giving you the 2nd QC for the Gliscor analysis!

Banned deucer.
stepping in real quick to clarify/unite both posts above (also it already had two QCs so idk what was the idea behind this but this needs a rewrite sooooooooooo...)

not qc anymore but wldnt really say it facing competition from chomp is that important of a point since they are basically the only 2 viable grounds, it rlly just depends on the team comp they dont overlap much in terms of roles outside of ground type.

all of this is true

It doesnt struggle vs special attackers with the correct investment, it struggles vs the x4 times effective ice type atks that often these Special attackers run aswell as the plethora of strong offensive or bulky water types like Rotom, Feraligatr, Starmie, Slowbro, Ice beam latias etc. With the correct investment it can live even the strongest of special non super effective hits like Specs Draco from Lati and Psychics from Alakazam.
surviving =/= not struggling, since unless you're the VERY invested spdef gliscor all of the above mentioned can 2HKO you at will, especially if you still need to activate the orb, which is a very plausible scenario if the opponent just counterleads you or you can't lead Gliscor, and most special attackers either can boost themselves (Latias, Alakazam), are Specs/Orb or are just Water or have Water or Ice coverage, so it's not like spdef is doing much work there (if anything you can roost on grass-types if you're slow, but only with Breloom and Celebi you can exercise this blessing, as Tangrowth can ppstall you or just force you out)
the only benefits are to eat Heatran and Magnezone better, and you need to outspeed them to gain significant results, which is what the current speedy Gliscor thrives to do, fast distruption more than just blind pivoting, which is what I'd use in more generic offenses

which brings me to the next point: Gliscor's role is entirely dependent on the EVs that you give it, and as such there's no "generic" Gliscor, since every Gliscor has its boons and banes, so pointing "wrong" EV spreads is just a complete waste of time

on Set 1 i'd leave speedy gliscor as the standard but rewording the paragraph in such a way that the EVs are the *first* thing to note when you're building your team and consequently your Gliscor, since all of us have their preferences on it and... quite frankly, they all work, so you can use a paragraph to point up the current usable ones, such as physdef gliscor, spdef gliscor, mixed gliscor and the various speed tiers you can hit (226 (0 speed), 244, 254, 279 and even 299 if you need to spite Nidoking and Rotom-W, although this last one can go in OO)
it can even be split in different sets since it also depends whether you're using it to defog or to set rocks (for the record, Defog > Stealth Rock most of the times imo)

This is enough Defense for Ada LO Lucario, Infernape, Garchomp and LO scizor. Spdef for Heatran, Non ice beam Latias, Rotom-W and Zam.
Speed is for Jolly Crawdaunt and Offensive LO Scizor while still gettin slow uturns vs opposing Gliscors and Jirachis

both of these can serve you as a base but definitely id center the argument around support gliscor in how different you can make it

on set 2 uhhh im not particularly opposed to it, since SD Facade is recurring since BDSP's creation, but also never found a place in the meta to call home so you can leave it there with Sav's suggestions

generally the point in spdef is usually just heatran, magnezone and the slower things with a special attack, since anything faster destroys you anyway, so id argue here youd actually want to be at least faster than zone to not get catapulted away from a specs cannon

on OO id mention perhaps the weirder speed tiers to reach, the Fling set and Wing Attack for stall gliscors to not lose ppstall wars

putting this in WIP till its a bit rewritten since this is a huge thing to undertake
