:sv/gholdengo:

These defenses are as good as gold, baby!

[SET]
name: Defensive
move 1: Recover
move 2: Thunder Wave
move 3: Hex / Shadow Ball
move 4: Make It Rain / Focus Blast
item: Rocky Helmet / Covert Cloak
tera type: Flying / Normal / Fairy
ability: Good as Gold
nature: Bold
evs: 252 HP / 236 Def / 20 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

* While Gholdengo's defensive stats aren't remarkable, it's fantastic typing and immunity to status moves like Taunt make it a great defensive Pokemon.

* Thunder Wave makes switching into this Gholdengo very difficult, as it can punish its speedier offensive checks like Hydreigon and Meowscarada.

* Hex gives this Gholdengo a good offensive kick against paralyzed foes, but Shadow Ball is worth considering for its consistency.

* Make It Rain is Gholdengo's most consistent way of dealing damage to Garganacl, but this set's defensive nature makes it difficult to win the one-on-one.

* Focus Blast isn't nearly as reliable as Make It Rain, but it's Gholdengo's best shot at making it past Kingambit.

* The given EVs outspeed paralyzed Dragapult, while maximizing physical bulk.

Tera Types
========

* **Flying**: Avoiding Earthquake against foes like Garchomp makes Tera Flying extremely useful for Gholdengo; this also gives it protection against Fissure from the likes of Dondozo and Garganacl.

* **Normal**: Tera Normal is not incredible defensively, but it does let Gholdengo surprise faster Ghost-types such as Dragapult and Mimikyu.

* **Fairy**: Tera Fairy gives Gholdengo a much better matchup against common Dark-type attackers like Hydreigon and Meowscarada.

Items
========

* **Rocky Helmet**: Rocky Helmet takes advantage of Gholdengo's excellent typing against physical moves, making it a good way to punish contact moves such as Outrage from Garchomp.

* **Covert Cloak**: This is Gholdengo's best shot of outstalling Garganacl, since it grants an immunty to Salt Cure's effect.

I implemented the checks, and added a good example for Rocky Helmet (Outrage is a big one). Sorry this took a day, been having some computer issues lately. That Steam Deck Dock arriving tomorrow should make things more reasonable.

Anyways, time to upload this, thanks everyone!
