Ultimately, its defensive capabilities are capitalized on by the combination of Rest and Sleep Talk, which allow it to cycle out bulkier types like Water, opposing Flying teams, Poison, and Steel while still being able to attack while asleep. Heavy Duty Boots is the item of choice as being able to avoid Stealth Rock damage is crucial in retaining longevity against bulkier types. It should be noted that RestTalk Galarian Moltres can be passive without a boost as it lacks the coverage and firepower to do notable damage otherwise.

Due to this set needing a boost to do any notable damage, a solid defensive core is highly recommended to pair with Galarian Moltres. Landorus-T, Mantine, Celesteela, and Corviknight all serve this purpose by complimenting Galarian Moltres defensively in many different ways. In return, Galarian Moltres supports the rest of the defensive core by being able to wall certain threats like Aegislash, Heatran, Spectrier, and Galarian Slowking that would otherwise prey on the passive nature on these teams. Due to its lackluster speed and lack of immediate wallbreaking potential, other offensive threats that have a higher speed tier are recommended as Galarian Moltres partners. Galarian Zapdos in particular forms a solid offensive core with Galarian Moltres, being able to beat certain threats like Kyurem, Tapu Lele, and Urshifu-R that check Galarian Moltres while Galarian Moltres can wall threats like Toxapex and Slowbro that Galarian Zapdos may not be able to beat in the long run due to its low durability as a breaker. Thundurus-T also compliments Galarian Moltres offensively by being able to take on types like Flying and Water more reliably due to its coverage as well as pivoting it in with Volt Switch.

This Galarian Moltres set capitalizes on more instantaneous forms of breaking using Chesto Berry and options like Hurricane and Taunt while trading a bit of

* Substitute can be ran over Rest with Leftovers in order to pick up more KOs against passive Pokemon like Slowbro and Toxapex, but due to the prevalence of Roar Heatran and lack of Heavy Duty Boots forgoing Rest can sacrifice a lot of longevity.
* Agility can be used in order to sweep
