[SET COMMENTS]
Super Fang Noivern serves as a good stallbreaker and pivot on balance and bulky offense teams against targets like that is able to wear down the likes of Ice Scales Clodsire and Corviknight, RegenVest Iron Treads and Tinkaton, and bulky setup Pokemon like Ice Scales Gyarados and Fur Coat Volcarona. The threat of an OHKO from Boomburst hinders the progress-making efforts of OHKOs Great Tusk and Iron Bundle, and Roost gives Noivern much-needed longevity. U-turn lets Noivern generate momentum against more offensive teams and lets wallbreakers like Iron Valiant and Choice Specs Iron Bundle safely switch in. Alternatively, Taunt lets Noivern completely cripple more passive walls like Ice Scales Clodsire and Corviknight, along with many FurScales sweepers like Quaquavel and Gholdengo, while Defog can be used as role compression while actively scaring off most Good as Gold Pokemon. Dedicated breakers like Choice Specs Iron Bundle and Choice Band Slither Wing like Noivern's ability to weaken their switch-ins, while Fighting-, Bug-, and Grass-weak Pokemon enjoy Noivern's ability to simply threaten a possible OHKO. Faster wallbreakers like Iron Bundle and Choice Band Dragonite force Noivern out, so answers to them like Desolate Land Iron Moth and Fur Coat Scream Tail serve as reliable switch-ins, while less passive walls like Garganacl and Iron Treads can simply pressure Noivern before it can make too large a dent and so partners like Gholdengo and Great Tusk help improve these matchups.

move 4: U-Turn
item: Choice Specs
ability: Aerilate
nature: Timid

[SET COMMENTS]
Choice Specs Noivern is a decent wallbreaker thanks to Aerilate Boomburst requiring Ice Scales or RegenVest resists to switch in. Flamethrower targets Steel-type resists like Iron Treads and Gholdengo, while U-Turn generates momentum and punishes switch-ins. Draco Meteor lets Noivern 2HKO Fur Coat Garganacl, while Roost and Defog let Noivern heal off taken damage or remove hazards on a forced switch. Noivern fits well into VoltTurn cores, so wallbreaking partners like Cinderace, Iron Bundle, and Meowscarada fit well to help take care of the Rock- and Steel-types that Noivern struggles with. In return, it checks many of the Pokemon that switch into them, like Fur Coat Garganacl, Fur Coat Gyarados, and Desolate Land Iron Moth. Attackers like opposing Iron Bundle, Aerilate Dragonite, and Ice Shard Baxcalibur threaten out Noivern, so checks to these like Ice Scales Corviknight and Fur Coat Iron Hands can switch in and then generate momentum for Noivern to switch back in safely. Ice Scales Corviknight also completely walls Choice Specs Noivern, so designated counterplay in Choice Band Iron Hands or Desolate Land Iron Moth significantly improve its output.

Super Fang Noivern serves as a premierpassable (It isn't THAT good) stallbreaker and pivot on Balance and Bulky Offensebalance and bulky offense teams against targets like that is able to wear down the likes of Ice Scales Clodsire and Corviknight, RegenVest Iron Treads and Tinkaton, and bulky setup Pokemon like Ice Scales Gyarados and Fur Coat Volcarona. Ice Scales Corviknight should get a very specific mention since it completely walls this set.

Sorry, to be clear, I said okay to you dropping the Super Fang set. Isaiah also does not approve the spread, so this is actually 0/2 if you want to die on this hill.

You still don’t 1v1 Corviknight with bulk investment, you’re lowering your offensive power for no tangible benefit; notably you lose the OHKO on Cinderace. Super Fang is to force recovery and wear it down faster with teammates.

You can update the EV spread to max SpA, drop the Super Fang set, or we can archive this analysis.

Clastia are you interested in re-writing this for post-FurScales + EV spread change? Or would you prefer to put this back up for reservation?
