Duplicate Full translation of Showdown (pokemon names, moves, etc.)

With the arrival of the new generation, new players will want to get into pokemon strategy but sometimes the language barrier can be a problem for them. Currently Showdown provides partial translations of the UI in several languages, but for most (all ?) of they, no translation is available for the pokemon names, moves, abilities, etc. And in some languages, like french, these informations are all translated in the official games.

I think it would be interesting to allow the community to contribute to the international development of showdown with this kind of translations.

As good of an implementation this would be in theory, where it gets snagged up for me is the community contributions. How would these translations be monitored to make sure that they are correct? Or if they have offensive language hidden in them? Would it be like Wikipedia, where anybody can change anything and it's a free-for-all? If it's limited to only moderators and staff who can translate, then it would never be completed, or if it was, it would take a very very long time.
