Competitive Niche: This thing is meant to annoy things with its many disruptive options. Parting Shot, Taunt, Technician-boosted Snarl, Technician-boosted Acid Spray, Encore, Final Gambit, Spikes, even dumb meme options like Me First and Guard Split. You can just be as annoying as possible with this thing. There is also the option of going offensive, with Technician-boosted moves in Snarl, Water Shuriken, Acid Spray, and Hidden Power, or using Storm Drain to boost up.

Welp, I'm done here with this mod.
The point of this mod is to make new versions of existing Pokémon, focusing more on Meta implications more than flavor, though both are important. If that bothers you, then you have every right to spend your time doing something else, but I'd encourage you to stick around and at least look at the next slate once it's up. The most fun from participating in mods like this, (to me at least), is the submissions phase.

Submissions Slate 4: Rebirth! 10/18 - 10/25 (projected)

Each of these Pokemon was OU in the generation of its release, but all have since fallen to RU or lower. There were definitely reasons for their crests, though, and now we will restore their glory! Maybe Shaymin-Land can move slightly closer in strength to its Sky forme (but please don't over-break it of course)!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Take 1: Back in the Mix!
Stats: Speed must be within 10 points of 100 (from 90 to 110, inclusive).
Type Restriction: The Pokemon must not change type.
Ability Ceiling: 3 Has a rating of 3 or lower in my ability ranking on the first page.

New Moves: One damaging move, within reason, and one non-damaging move that doesn't increase stat stages or HP. Moves that indirectly boost stats (e.g. Sunny Day if the ability is Chlorophyll) are fine.

Takes 2: Going its Own Way!
Stats: Speed below 100, highest attacking stat below 130.
Type Restriction: Must only have 1 type, which can be any type except any type the Pokemon currently has.
Ability Ceiling: 4
New Moves: One non-damaging move, within reason. Recovery moves are allowed.

Takes 3: Let's Shuffle!
Stats: No restriction!
Type Restriction: Must keep at least one (for Shaymin, the one) type it currently has.
Ability Ceiling: 2.5
New Moves: Only if the Pokemon has a new type: 1 damaging move of the new type.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Some repeated advice, some of which is in the introductory post:
  • Follow your take's guidelines, but remember; they're purposefully broad to give your creativity room. Go enjoy it! Just do a double-check after you're done to ensure you follow the four restrictions and everything is ship-shape.
  • You can make one submission for each Pokemon. Voting is on Pokemon, not takes. You are making Pokemon via takes, not takes via Pokemon.
  • You don't need to reserve one take for every Pokemon. Anything from one take for each to all three Pokemon using one take is A-OK.
Feel free to ask any questions you need, and enjoy revitalizing some princes of the past!

Pokemon: Shaymin
Take: 1
Type: Grass
Ability: Chlorophyll, Overgrow, Solar Power
Stats: 90 / 95 / 100 / 105 / 100 / 110
New Moves: Sunny Day, Weather Ball
Competitive Niche: This Pokemon is mainly based off sun, taking the idea from Tiksi’s example. Weather Ball can hit very hard under sun, even without STAB. Chlorophyll makes it very good in terms of stats under sun, and Solar Beam greatly appreciates the Sun for a 1-turn move. Alternatively, it can run Solar Power to boost all its attacks under sun, rather than its stats.
Sample set:
Shaymin @ Heat Rock / Lefotvers / Life Orb
Ability: Chloropyll
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
- Solar Beam
- Sunny Day
- Weather Ball
- Growth / Synthesis

New Moves: Calm Mind
Competitive Niche: Lapras can run physical or special sets with Draconiate Hyper Voice or Return as more reliable STABs, and Calm Mind or Dragon Dance to boost.
Lapras @ Life Orb
Ability: Draconiate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hyper Voice

EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Return
- Dragon Dance
- Iron Head
- Drill Run

Pokemon: Forretress
Take: 3
Type:

Ability: Skill Link / Bulletproof (HA)
Stats: 100 / 110 / 140 / 60 / 100 / 60 | BST: 570
New Moves: Rock Blast
Competitive Niche: Offensive hazard setter and spinner. Skill Link allows STAB Pin Missile and Rock Blast to hit 5 times with 125 BP each, breaking through opposing sashes and Sturdy Pokemon.
Forretress @ Life Orb
Ability: Skill Link
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Pin Missile
- Rock Blast
- Rapid Spin
- Stealth Rock / Toxic Spikes / Spikes

Pokemon: Shaymin
Take: 1

Ability: Thick Fat / No Guard (HA)
Stats: 100 / 70 / 90 / 120 / 90 / 100 | BST: 570
New Moves: Focus Blast, Sleep Powder
Competitive Niche: No Guard wallbreaker with Seed Flare and Focus Blast. Sleep Powder now also has perfect accuracy.
Shaymin @ Life Orb
Ability: No Guard
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Seed Flare
- Focus Blast
- Sleep Powder

8CFD1DCA-BEDB-478A-8214-2838C8F3E93B.gif
(Yay figured out sprites).
Pokemon: Forretress
Take: 3
Type: Bug / Fire
Ability: Flareilate (Fire-type -ate), Filter (HA)
Stats: 100 / 120 / 130 / 60 / 100 / 60 | BST: 570
New Moves: Double-Edge, Swords Dance, Lunge
Competitive Niche: Offensive hazard setter and spinner. Basically Excadrill’s role, but better at everything. Wallbreaker with Flarerilate, Lunge and Swords Dance.
Sample sets:
Forretress @ Leftovers
Ability: Flarerilate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Frustration
- Rapid Spin
- Stealth Rock
- Swords Dance

Pokemon: Forretress
Take: 2
Type:

Ability: *Electric Shell / Volt Absorb | Technician (HA)
*Electric Shell - Grass Pelt clone for Electric Terrain
Stats: 75 / 75 / 150 / 120 / 75 / 50 | BST: 545
New Moves: Shore Up
Competitive Niche: Although Forretress' special movepool is rather pitiful, Volt Switch, Giga Drain, and Technician-boosted Hidden Power should provide enough options for it to use alongside Rapid Spin or hazards. On teams with Tapu Koko, you could opt to use Electric Shell instead, limiting its offense a bit but allowing it to reach 657 Def in Electric Terrain. Its nice 120 base SpA prevents it from being too passive, especially with a 90 BP coverage move of your choice. Also Zap Cannon
Forretress @ Leftovers
Ability:Technician
252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Nature: Bold
- Rapid Spin / Spikes
- Volt Switch
- Hidden Power Ice
- Shore Up

Just to show that it can run a pretty nice set despite its limited attacking options.

Pokemon: Lapras
Take: 1
Type:

Ability: Storm Drain / Shell Armor | Swift Swim (HA)
Stats: 118 / 80 / 84 / 128 / 70 / 90 | BST: 570
New Moves: Aura Sphere, Stealth Rock
Competitive Niche: Lapras can find a niche as a wallbreaker, now having enough Speed and Special Attack to make full use of the amazing STAB coverage it has between Water and Freeze Dry. Storm Drain doesn't add very much defensively but Lapras will be very difficult to switch into with a boost, and it can threaten out the Water types it switches into with Freeze Dry. If all else fails, Swift Swim should make it a menace on par with Mega Swampert or Kingdra.

Pokemon: Shaymin
Take: 3
Type:

Ability: Flower Veil / Leaf Guard | Immunity (HA)
Stats: 75 / 60 / 75 / 115 / 125 / 110 | BST: 560
New Moves: Moonblast
Competitive Niche: The biggest buff to Shaymin here is the addition of Fairy STAB, allowing it to hit many of the Flying-types and Grass-resistant Levitators it couldn't before.Though it loses a lot of physical bulk, it gains a lot offensively in return. Its abilities don't do too much for it but at least Immunity is bound to come in handy at some point. A Specs set with Seed Flare / Moonblast / Earth Power / HP Fire could break through just about anything not named Chansey with good prediction ( and Chansey too with good hax ).

Pokemon: Lapras
Take: 2
Type:

Ability: Hydratation / Poison Heal (HA)
Stats: 130 / 95/ 90 / 95 / 90 / 50 | BST: 550
New Moves: Coil
Competitive Niche: A bulky Pokémon that can take on fire wallbreaker such as Volcarona, Heatran or Charizard-Y. It can also set-up thanks to DD and Coil. However it lacks speed and a reliable dragon STAB. But Lapras best set is probably it's stallbreaker set featuring Perish Song.
Lapras @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Perish Song
- Whirlpool
- Protect
- Dragon Pulse

Lapras @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk

Lapras @ Toxic Orb

EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Facade
- Coil
- Dragon Dance / Drill Run
- Protect / Drill Run

Pokemon: Forretress
Take: 3
Type:

Ability: Overcoat / Mud Shell (HA) (Flash Fire for Ground-move)
Stats: 85 / 100 / 140 / 30 / 80 / 20 | BST: 455
New Moves: Gunk Shot
Competitive Niche: A nice pivot that can switch into Zygarde, Garchomp and Landorus for free. It can set-up hazards, absorb Toxic-Spikes, and remove hazard. However it has a 4mss and lacks reliable recovery.
Forretress @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Gyro Ball / Gunk Shot
- Earthquake
- Volt Switch / Pain Split
- Spikes / Rapid Spin / Toxic-Spikes

Forretress @ Assault Vest
Ability: Mud Shell
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Gyro Ball / Gunk Shot
- Earthquake
- Volt Switch
- Rapid Spin

Pokemon: Shaymin
Take: 1
Type:

Ability: Natural Cure / No Guard (HA)
Stats: 100 / 80 / 100 / 120 / 100 / 100 | BST: 600
New Moves: Thunder, Recover
Competitive Niche: A strong wallbreaker which pairs well with other Grass-type thanks to its ability to break through Heatran and Celesteela. However it still struggles against Grass-type such as Ferrothorn and Florges while being weak to Chansey.
Shaymin @ Life Orb
Ability: No Guard
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Seed Flare
- Thunder
- Earth Power
- Recover

Shaymin @ Choice Scarf
Ability: No Guard
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Seed Flare
- Thunder
- Earth Power
- Healing Wish

sigh Another one.

Pokemon: Lapras
Take: 2
Type: Steel
Ability: Swindle (Sets Trick Room on switch-in, stays for 5 turns) If I have to change this, contact me as soon as possible. I don't know if it counts or not, but I assume so due to the access of Snow Warning in 3.5.
Stats: 130/100/105/85/130/20 BST 570
New Moves:
Recover
Competitive Niche: OU, I believe. Solid typing, access to recovery, and a setter. Ability to set up Trick Room gives it viability as a possible lead. Great bulk allows it to stall a little. More likely a better Perish Trapper or a physical Sweeper with its access to Curse.

Pokemon: Shaymin
Take: 1
Type: Grass
Ability: Armored (Takes half damage from Flying, Bug and Poison | Thick Fat clone?)
Stats: 110/50/110/100/120/80 BST 570
New Moves:
Spore, Shadow Ball
Competitive Niche: A bulky attacker. With it's new ability, its only weakness is Fire and Ice. Ice is kind of common these days, along Fire, but since these moves are mainly Special; they might not do so much. Pretty high health, accompanied by great defenses and a usable SpA, you could run a few good and possibly niche sets.
Shaymin @ Assault Vest
Ability: Armored
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpA / 8 SpDef
Modest Nature
- Shadow Ball
- Dazzling Gleam
- Psychic
- Seed Flare / Energy Ball
Hits everything, will probably live eveything. Just switch out if possible HP Fire or Ice Beam.

Pokemon: Forretress
Take: 3
Type: Steel/Ground
Ability: Mold Breaker
Stats: 150/115/135/40/115/15 BST 570
New Moves:
Stomping Tantrum
Competitive Niche: A bulky setter/attacker. Enough Atk to use its own STAB and really good bulk enough to live a few hits to set up those Spikes, Rocks or Toxic Spikes. RIP Sticky Webs though. This could be thrown on almost any team as a simple setter, or even a main attacker on a TR team.

Sorry for not noticing this before but Shaymin’s Armored will have to drop a resist probably to stay with Thick Fat if it wins Shoopz_Whisper (Swindle is fine, if i change my mind on autoTR rating wise it wont retroactively kill it)

Lapras: Tuthur1, Scoopapa, Origin0
Forretress: PokemonMasterDebater, Tuthur1, ZoroWarrior
