Status
Not open for further replies.

Pokemon: Luxray
Take: 3
Type:

Ability: Strong Jaw / Intimidate / Volt Absorb (HA)
Stats: 75 / 115 / 95 / 75 / 85 / 105 | BST: 550
New Moves: Psychic Fangs
Competitive Niche: Physical attacker with Strong Jaw-boosted moves.
Luxray @ Life Orb
Ability: Strong Jaw
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Thunder Fang
- Crunch
- Ice Fang
- Volt Switch / Fire Fang

Pokemon: Magmortar
Take: 1
Type:

Ability: Flame Body / Trace (HA)
Stats: 85 / 85 / 87 / 125 / 105 / 83 | BST: 570
New Moves: Nasty Plot
Competitive Niche: Nasty Plot wallbreaker/sweeper. Its Fire/Electric/Fighting coverage hits most things except for certain Dragon-types. Trace is situational but allows Magmortar to copy useful abilities like weather-oriented abilities, immunity abilities, and things like Regenerator.
Magmortar @ Life Orb / Firium-Z
Ability: Trace
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
IVs: 0 Atk
Timid Nature
- Nasty Plot
- Fire Blast / Flamethrower
- Thunderbolt
- Focus Blast

Pokemon: Dragonite
Take: 2
Type:

Ability: No Guard / Multiscale (HA)
Stats: 100 / 80 / 100 / 100 / 100 / 90 | BST: 570
New Moves: Hydro Pump, Calm Mind, Air Slash
Competitive Niche: Choice Specs wallbreaker. Has No Guard with access to Hurricane, Hydro Pump, Thunder, Fire Blast, Blizzard, and Focus Blast. It only has base 100 Special Attack and 90 Speed, though, and opposing Pokemon won't miss with Stone Edge or other strong moves either.
Dragonite @ Choice Specs

IVs: 0 Atk
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Hurricane
- Hydro Pump / Thunder / Fire Blast / Blizzard

Pokemon: Luxray
Take: 1
Type: Electric/Normal
Ability: Scrappy / Unnerve / Guts (HA)
Stats: 90 / 131 / 85 / 109 / 85 / 70
New Moves: Agility
Competitive Niche: Click Agility, hope you don't die, and click Guts-boosted Facade until you run into a Ghost (in which case click Guts-boosted Crunch) or die. This does get worn down very fast if you ever have to use Wild Charge and the fact that it has to take a hit since it's so slow before setup. This also lacks any other way of boosting Attack (other than Howl...), so stuff with Intimidate and bulky Ground or Steel-types should be able to handle it

(If this is broken, please tell me)
Luxray @ Flame Orb
Ability: Guts
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Wild Charge
- Facade
- Agility
- Crunch / Superpower / Quick Attack

Pokemon: Luxray
Take: 3
Type:

Ability: Lightningrod / Static / Dazzling (HA)
Stats: 70 / 80 / 60 / 115 / 70 / 135 | BST: 520
New Moves: Dark Pulse
Competitive Niche: A similar build to Jolteon, only it gets a secondary STAB which Jolteon always desperately wanted, and it gets a very useful ability for its build in Dazzling. It lacks any viable boosting moves, which relegates it to a role as revenge killer and offensive pivot, which it can still do very well at. However Lightningrod is an alternate ability choice that can enable it to situationally grab a boost and become quite dangerous. Much like Rotom, Electric / Dark Luxray doesn't need Hidden Power as much and has room in its movesets for support or other coverage moves.

Pokemon: Magmortar
Take: 2
Type:

Ability: Flash Fire / White Smoke | Poison Heal ( HA )
Stats: 90 / 85 / 75 / 95 / 135 / 90 | BST: 570
New Moves: Psyshock, Calm Mind, Zen Headbutt
Competitive Niche: A stallbreaker with Calm Mind and/or Taunt, as well as a tank with good attacking coverage. It can run Earthquake to deal with Heatran, Psyshock to deal with Toxapex, and Lava Plume to deal with Steel types and keep most physical attackers weary. It also deals with Calm Mind Clefable quite nicely. Poison Heal makes relative sense for it due to its movepool connection to poisonous smog ( it learns clear smog, smog, and smokescreen ), which probably comes from its connection to magma and the poisonous gases it contains.

Pokemon: Dragonite
Take: 3
Type:

Ability: Levitate / Swift Swim | Tough Claws (HA)
Stats: 75 / 100 / 80 / 105 / 85 / 110 | BST: 555
New Moves: Hydro Pump
Competitive Niche: A powerful Choice Bander or Dragon Dancer with Tough Claws or a Specs Rain sweeper with Swift Swim. Tough Claws boosted attacks hit as though coming from base 140 Atk, although it's limited to Outrage, Dragon Claw, and Waterfall for STAB. In Rain it can easily run Modest and function like a faster, stronger Kingdra that can use Thunder. It can also run special sets with Levitate in order to function as an offensive Defog user. It may lack the bulk of normal Dragonite but it gains a better defensive typing, more speed, secondary STAB, and a neutrality to Stealth Rock.

Pokemon: Luxray
Take: 2
Type:
/

Ability: Intimidate / Natural Cure
Stats: 125 / 95 / 85 / 85 / 112 / 68
New Moves: Play Rough, Nuzzle, Ice Beam
Competitive Niche: With Intimidate and Volt Switch, Luxray already had some tools to be a useful bulky pivot, but now it excels in the role. Its Speed is by no means impressive, and Ground moves are a thorn in its side, but Nuzzle and Ice Beam remediate both of these issues while still letting it hold an Assault Vest. Statwise, its HP and Special Defense are greatly boosted, which alongside Intimidate let it take no shortage of hits. It needs to stay healthy, though, lacking Regenerator or recovery outside of Rest. Electric / Fairy is excellent defensively, and also gives it access to a no-recoil (as opposed to Wild Charge) physical STAB to use its still respectable 95 Attack on. 90 Special Attack lets it use Thunderbolt and Ice Beam with decent power.
Sample Sets:
Luxray @ Assault Vest
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Relaxed Nature
- Play Rough
- Ice Beam
- Nuzzle / Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch

Luxray @ Assault Vest
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Play Rough
- Crunch / Wild Charge
- Nuzzle
- Volt Switch

Luxray @ Leftovers / Iapapa Berry (to bluff AV)
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Relaxed Nature
- Play Rough
- Ice Beam
- Toxic
- Volt Switch

Despite not being required to do so, I'll challenge my self and use each of the three takes every slate I participate in.

Pokemon: Luxray
Take: 3
Type: Electric / Dark
Ability:
Strong Jaw / Moxie / Guts
Stats: 70 / 120 / 70 / 95 / 70 / 115
New Moves: Agility
Take 3 was the one I knew I wanted for this; it let me increase the speed while not sacrificing power. The lower BST was tolerable. Strong Jaw allows boosted Thunder Fang, which is slightly more powerful than Wild Charge, and boosts Ice Fang and Fire Fang. Running another ability has more effects, but at the cost of no Ice/Fire coverage, recoil-inducing STAB, and only Superpower as coverage. I kept the 95 Special Attack so that Volt Switch can be used with it, and Agility allows a possible sweep.

Pokemon: Magmortar
Take: 1
Type: Fire / Psychic (Psychic and Barrier)
Ability: Dry Skin / Bulletproof / Mold Breaker
Stats: 95 / 90 / 95 / 125 / 95 / 70
New Moves: Nasty Plot
Take 1 was the last one left, and because I wanted a bulky mon for this anyway, I went with it. The abilities provide valuable effects that could otherwise cut into the mon's longevity, with Dry Skin providing a full immunity to a type it's weak too, Bulletproof allowing immunities to some random moves, and Mold Breaker ignoring abilities. They all provide fine oppurtunities to use Nasty Plot, and combined with STAB Fire Blast/Psychic, with Thunderbolt and Focus Blast as possible coverage (and some random physical moves like Mach Punch. I kept the attack high enough for those to be considered.) This thing can be hard to take down.

Pokemon: Dragonite
Take: 2
Type: Dragon / Water
Ability:
Marvel Scale / Levitate / Competitive
Stats: 100 / 80 / 100 / 100 / 100 / 90
New Moves: Scald, Hydro Pump, Calm Mind
Take 2 was used because this mon has the highest low attack. It does mean I have to completely change how it works though. It was given defensive abilities to help a potential set-up with calm mind. (WIP)

Good question, and no reason not to make this an official thing; new submission slates will be out 2-3 days after the end of the last voting slate unless I say otherwise (so this one will be out later today or tomorrow).

Submissions Slate 3: Two Stat Wonders! 9/29 - 10/6 (projected)
Our third slate features a slew of what could be called One-Stat Wonders just don't look at Florges' SpA too closely, but they will be no longer! Now they will have... two good stats!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Take 1: New Ability Heights!
Stats: Pokemon must have one stat at least 140, one 100-120, and all others 90 or less. The two highest don't have to be their original two highest.
Type Restriction: The Pokemon must not change type.
Ability Ceiling: 4 Has a rating of 4 or lower in my ability ranking on the first page.

New Moves: One damaging move, within reason.

Takes 2: Two Stats, Two Types!
Stats: Pokemon must have one stat above 140, one 100-120, and all others 90 or less. The two highest don't have to be their original two highest.
Type Restriction: Must keep primary type and gain a secondary type, which can be any type besides Normal.
Ability Ceiling: 2.5
New Moves: One move of the new secondary type you give it, except for reliable recovery.

Takes 3: Type Makeover!
Stats: Pokemon must have two stats at least 120, and all others 90 or less. These two don't have to be their original two highest.
Type Restriction: Must be monotype, and not the type it currently is.
Ability Ceiling: 3
New Moves: Two damaging moves and two non-damaging moves of the new type. No reliable recovery.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Some repeated advice, some of which is in the introductory post:
  • Follow your take's guidelines, but remember; they're purposefully broad to give your creativity room. Go enjoy it! Just do a double-check after you're done to ensure you follow the four restrictions and everything is ship-shape.
  • You can make one submission for each Pokemon. Voting is on Pokemon, not takes. You are making Pokemon via takes, not takes via Pokemon.
  • You don't need to reserve one take for every Pokemon. Anything from one take for each to all three Pokemon using one take is A-OK.
Feel free to ask any questions you need, and enjoy giving some spin to those stats!

Pokemon: Accelgor
Take: 3
Type: Ghost
Abilities: Soul Eater* (Immune to ghost-type moves) / Frisk / Dazzling
Stats: 65 / 80 / 55 / 55 / 120 / 160 (BST: 535)
New Moves: Phantom Force, Shadow Sneak, Curse, Destiny Bond
Justification: Pretty versatile pivot with multiple support options. It can switch in both fighting and ghost attacks, and it doesn't fear special moves that much. Can also be an interesting scout with choice scarf.

Pokemon: Florges
Take: 1
Type: Fairy
Abilities:
Poison Heal / Sap Sipper
Stats: 90 / 60 / 65 / 120 / 140 / 60 (BST: 535)
New Moves: Earth Power
Justification: Florges with these changes can become either an amazing special defensive wall or a bulky special sweeper. Both Poison Heal and Sap Sipper help for both of those roles, so you can use either or depending on what you're trying to achieve. Earth Power is to threaten Steel-types that would otherwise take the opportunity to switch in to Florges, such as Heatran or Magnezone.

Pokemon: Regirock
Take: 3
Type: Ground
Abilities: Filter / Sturdy
Stats: 90 / 120 / 120 / 90 / 100 / 50 (BST: 570)
New Moves: Sand Tomb, Drill Run, Spikes, Rototiller
Justification: I couldn't think of anything for this thing with Take 2. Regiground sacrificed much of its Defense to make his Attack higher as well as boosting its Special Attack a bit, increasing its mixed potential. Sturdy is still a good ability, but Filter allows it to stay a bit bulkier against super effective moves, especially since it can utilized a more defensive type in Ground compared to Rock. Regiground knows like every single good Ground-type move though, so other than Spikes and maybe Sand Tomb they're all pretty garbage and used for filler. I wanted to give it Shore Up, but recovery moves aren't allowed. :puff: In all honestly, this is mostly a meme, but atleast it's better, I think (I hope).

ninja bug gets it later if i can actually think of one

Pokemon: Accelgor
Take: 3
Type: Ghost
Abilities: Soul Eater* (Immune to ghost-type moves) / Frisk / Dazzling
Stats: 65 / 80 / 55 / 55 / 120 / 160 (BST: 535)
New Moves: Spectral Thief, Shadow Sneak, Curse, Destiny Bond
Justification: Pretty versatile pivot with multiple support options. It can switch in both fighting and ghost attacks, and it doesn't fear special moves that much. Can also be an interesting scout with choice scarf.
No spectral thief I'm afraid ("More generally, don't give Pokemon moves...restricted to legendaries/mythicals/weird things like Ditto." under "Strange Moves/Abilities" in OP), but I really do like the concept. Destiny Bond is quite underrated, esp with Speed like that and possible immunities to Normal, Fighting, and Ghost, and there's a bunch else you can go from with it too.

Pokemon: Florges
Take: 3
Type:

Abilities: Natural Cure / Flower Veil | Chlorophyll (HA)
Stats: 64 / 75 / 77 / 147 / 147 / 60 (BST: 570)
New Moves: Leaf Storm, Solarbeam, Leech Seed, Sleep Powder
Justification: Truly a two stat wonder with its giant Special stats. It has a good stat spread to make use of Giga Drain, which allows it to run various bulky offense sets such as Specs, Assault Vest, or Calm Mind. It also gets Defog, Aromatherapy, and Leech Seed, so it can run some good support and defensive sets. Natural Cure is a great ability on this type of pivot, allowing it to gain momentum against status spreaders.

Pokemon: Accelgor
Take: 2
Type:

Abilities: Dry Skin / Sticky Hold | Skill LInk (HA)
Stats: 65 / 105 / 80 / 75 / 75 / 145 (BST: 545)
New Moves: Close Combat
Justification: With a Stealth Rock neutrality and newfound offensive presence Accelgor can be a potent offensive pivot. Alongside Close Combat, it has great supporting moves in U-turn, Knock Off, Spikes, and Toxic Spikes, which let it accomplish a lot on a forced switch.

Pokemon: Regirock
Take: 1
Type:

Abilities: Clear Body | Compound Eyes (HA)
Stats: 80 / 175 / 120 / 50 / 70 / 50 (BST: 555)
New Moves: Zen Headbutt
Justification: Still a one stat wonder in some ways, although it's Def is quite good. It's rather slow and Rock is not the greatest typing, but it can spam Rock-type moves like few others can thanks to Compound Eyes and its massive Atk stat. It would probably like to run Choice Band, Rock Polish, or Stealth Rock sets.

Pokemon: Regirock
Take: 1

Abilities: Sand Stream / Sturdy
Stats: 80 / 80 / 110 / 170 / 80 / 50 (BST: 570)
New Moves: Power Gem
Justification: A terrifyingly solid Pokemon, and not just because it's made out of rocks. A frighteningly strong 170 Special Attack backed up by Thunderbolt, Earth Power, Focus Blast, and STAB Power Gem makes it mighty to face even without a boosting item, and 80/110/80 bulk backed up by Sand Stream's Special Defense boost makes it very hard to rid from the field. An interesting utility movepool including Stealth Rock, Thunder Wave, and Counter (Sturdy!) gives it other options, as well, even if its low Speed holds it back to an extent.

Pokemon: Accelgor
Take: 3
Type:
1538337344570.png

Abilities: Levitate / Light Metal
Stats: 75 / 130 / 65 / 65 / 80 / 155 (BST: 570)
New Moves: Iron Head, Iron Tail, Shift Gear, Iron Defense
Justification: Accelgor becomes an even more deadly hazard lead as well as a frightening offensive presence as well. Mono-Steel typing with an immunity to Ground through Levitate give are ironclad ninja 10 resistances and 2 immunities compared to a mere two weaknesses, notably stopping Landorus-T cold. 160 Speed handily outspeeds any unboosted threat, with U-Turn to escape even Scarf Magnezone trying to trap it. These moves aren't new, but this is a good time to remind that his support movepool includes Knock Off, and Final Gambit, Encore, and Yawn. He can struggle, though, actually handling other Steel-types and requires support for them, but luckily these often cannot remove its hazards.
HazArmageddon
Accelgor @ Focus Sash / Mental Herb / Steelium Z / Leftovers / etc.
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature or Adamant Nature

Accelgor @ Steelium Z / Normalium Z / Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def

- Me First / Spikes / Toxic Spikes / Leech Life

Pokemon: Florges
Take: 3
Type:

Ability: Pixie Power* (Fairy-type Steelworker clone) / Corrosion (HA)
Stats: 150 / 60 / 80 / 120 / 90 / 70 | BST: 570
New Moves: Clear Smog, Sludge Wave, Toxic Spikes, Baneful Bunker
Competitive Niche: Florges is very bulky with access to recovery in Synthesis and Wish, with its high HP stat allowing it to pass big Wishes to teammates. Pixie Power lets it keep STAB with Moonblast, while Corrosion at least allows it to poison Steel and Poison types that wall its attacks. It still has a good Special Attack stat so it is not too passive. It can set Toxic Spikes for good team support or use Baneful Bunker to poison contact attackers, while functioning as Protect to allow it to heal itself with Wish.
Florges @ Black Sludge
Ability: Pixie Power
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpA / 8 SpD
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Sludge Wave
- Moonblast
- Toxic Spikes
- Wish / Synthesis

Pokemon: Accelgor
Take: 1
Type:

Ability: Hydration / Sticky Hold / Triage (HA)
Stats: 70 / 119 / 80 / 70 / 80 / 151 | BST: 570
New Moves: Drain Punch
Competitive Niche: Triage abuser with Leech Life and Drain Punch. Accelgor also has access to Recover as well. Its other move slots can hold U-turn and various support moves like Spikes, Toxic Spikes, Encore, and Knock Off.
Accelgor @ Life Orb / Choice Scarf
Ability: Triage
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Leech Life
- Drain Punch
- U-turn
- Spikes / Toxic Spikes

Pokemon: Regirock
Take: 2
Type:

Ability: Iron Fist / Sturdy (HA)
Stats: 90 / 150 / 120 / 60 / 90 / 60 | BST: 570
New Moves: Mach Punch
Competitive Niche: Regirock is a physical wallbreaker that hits very hard with its massive Attack stat and powerful STAB combo. Iron Fist boosts the power of Hammer Arm, Drain Punch, Mach Punch, and the elemental punches. Hammer Arm has Superpower's power without the Attack and Defense drops, though Drain Punch provides sustain due to Regirock's lack of reliable recovery. Mach Punch lets it hit faster threats, since it has a lower Speed stat that leaves it vulnerable to offensive Pokemon. Earthquake can be used for EdgeQuake coverage, or it can opt for one of the elemental punches.
Regirock @ Choice Band / Life Orb
Ability: Iron Fist
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stone Edge
- Hammer Arm / Drain Punch
- Mach Punch
- Ice Punch / Fire Punch / Thunder Punch / Earthquake

Pokemon: Florges
Take:
3
Type:

Ability:
Flower Veil
Stats:
85/60/75/145/130/75 | 570
New Moves:
Leaf Storm, Power Whip, Strenght Sap, Leech Seed
Competitive Niche:
Florges is a good replacement to AV Tangrowth and SpD Bulu thanks to its better Special bulk. Florges is immune to status thanks to Flower Veil and can get its health back thanks to Strenght Sap or Wish. Florges is a great pivot which packs a lot of utility in Defog, Wish and Aromatheray while checking some powerfull Pokémon such as Ash-Greninja, Tapu Koko and mono attacking Zygarde. However it struggles against top tier such as Heatran and Ferrothorn.
Sample Sets:

Florges @ Leftovers
Ability: Flower Veil
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Bold Nature
- Giga Drain
- Strenght Sap
- Defog / Toxic
- Wish / Hidden Power [Fire] / Hidden Power [Ground]

Pokemon: Accelgor
Take:
2
Type:

Ability:
Skill Link | Hydratation
Stats:
70/80/65/110/90/155 | 570
New Moves:
Surf
Competitive Niche:
Really Fast pivot with a strong priority. It outspeeds every relevant Pokémon in OU and can Pivot thanks to U-Turn. It has one of the strongest priority in the tier with a 75 BP Water Shuriken and can set-up spikes. It faces competition from Ash-Greninja however Accelgor doesn't need to claim a kill before becoming dangerous. It can also be ran in rain team with other powerfull Water-attacker.
Sample Sets:

Accelgor @ Choice Specs
Ability: Skill Link
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Water Shuriken
- U-turn
- Focus Blast

Accelgor @ Focus Sash
Ability: Skill Link
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk

Pokemon: Regirock
Take:
1
Type:

Ability:
Poison Heal | Sturdy
Stats:
90/110/225/40/85/20 | 570
New Moves:
Ice Hammer (for Ground-type such as Zygarde, Lando and Chomp)
Competitive Niche:
A very bulky physical wall à la Avalugg, it keeps offensive pressure, being able to OHKO most Rock-resists thanks to Ice Hammer, Earthquake and Fire Punch. However it's hold back by a bad defensive typing, which lets it weak to Fighting and Ground type such as Mega-Medicham and Zygarde. Also it's special bulk leaves it weak to special attacker like Heatran or Tapu Lele. It can however wall premier wallbreaker like Mega-Mawile, Mega-Pinsir, Tyranitar and non-Giga Drain Volcarona.

Ability:
Clear Body / Bullet Proof
Stats: 120/90/90/50/180/40 (570)
New Moves: Gyro Ball, Anchor Shot, Metal Sound, Autotomize
Competitive Niche: Steel type special wall that is immune to Focus Blast. There are severeal Special Attackers that depend on Focus Blast as their coverage against steel types, such as Tapu Lele, Alakazam-Mega, Gengar, etc. This Regirock can hard wall all of the above threats, and threaten back with STAB Anchor Shot or Gyro Ball off of a decent base 90 Atk, trapping or OHKOing the opponent.

252 SpA Tapu Lele All-Out Pummeling (190 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Regirock: 194-23 (43.6 - 51.8%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Choice Specs Tapu Lele Psyshock vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Regirock in Psychic Terrain: 161-189 (36.2 - 42.5%) -- 96.3% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

252 SpA Alakazam-Mega Hidden Power Fire vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Regirock: 78-92 (17.5 - 20.7%) -- possible 7HKO after Leftovers recovery
4 Atk Regirock Anchor Shot vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Alakazam-Mega: 112-133 (44.6 - 52.9%) -- 27.3% chance to 2HKO
Note: If you chose Gyro Ball as your main STAB, Mega Alakazam can Trace Bulletproof, making itself immune to Gyro Ball. Chose your STAB carefully.

Lack of reliable recovery means that Regirock can be worn down, however, it is one of just a few Pokemon that can switch into Tapu Lele reliably, and as a result of that, it already is a great wall for teams that need help against Lele.
