However, Flygon's is a firm and stable wind that enshrouds him like a cocoon. Prepared, the two battlers crash into each other. Staraptor's jet-fast body breaks through Flygon's wind barrier! It's not all good news for Florina, though, because the clashing air currents have lifted Staraptor uncontrollably high up into the air, too far for his Trainer to call him back!

Queen Linoone stakes her claim by druming her belly so loudly that even Staraptor can hear it from his lofty height! Not one to reject a challenge, down he recklessly swoops, assailing the interloper with a flurry of wing-strikes and talon-scratches. In a huff, Linoone retorts by yanking her own crown off her head and hurling it at the bird, whose hide its metal prongs prick. Like a boomerang, the crown sails backwards in an arc and lands once again atop its rightful owner's skull.

Next Staraptor adopts a hit-and-run strategy. Darting this way and that way, Startaptor is sure that he'll be able to avoid any projectile thrown his way. It's no use, though -- after planting her feet into the dirt, Linoone leaps off the ground like a bottle rocket and chomps down on Staraptor's tail, dragging him down in a tussle of fur and feathers.

I heard there was a weird combo here. Just to avoid any complaints regarding precedents existing, ruling Quick Attack + Double Team as an infeasible combination.

The whole arena watches in silence, dumbstruck, as Arceus takes a sip out of its juicebox and floats back up into the heavens. Afterwards Queen Linoone is the first to act -- after all, she's part of the bourgeois, which means she's already going to Hell, and therefore has no reason to fear God. What she should fear, though, is the onslaught of wing-beatings coming her way from Staraptor. Against such ferocity, she has no choice but to cede the territory to her rival and abort her conquest.

Eventually the LED becomes indistinguishable from a solid light, at which point Flygon's wings, arms, and legs meld into a haze. Finally, the light shuts off. The device powers down. Flygon rests.

Menacingly, Staraptor glares from across the arena. No movement from Flygon. A nanosecond passes. The next thing Staraptor is going to see will be the tiled ceiling of a Pokemon Center from inside his Poke Ball. What he isn't going to see is his own head smacking into the ground and the slender footprint stamped into the back of his skull.

From Gallade's fingertips to its elbow, a thick coating of ice spreads. Then, "Smack!" Down like a club it falls onto Flygon's head. Glass-like ice shards cascade down Flygon's shoulders. His leathery skin flays to shreds. Despite the pain, Flygon counterattacks with incredible swiftness -- his leg, like a jackhammer, pounds into the dirt at a rate of 1,000 strikes a minute. So great is the impact that a massive fissure a dozen meters wide opens up in the ground! Gallade slips and falls. Over and over,he crashes into the walls on each side of the fissure, desperately trying to catch a handhold in the endless darkness.

Gallade makes rude gestures with his hands while jumping backwards into a Fissure. Unsure what to expect, Chimecho throws up a barrier of light. He waits. What devious plan could Gallde be scheming? What kind of sneak attack could be in store? Eventually, he hears his answer: a soft (thud) as Gallde hits rock bottom. No sneak attack, just a baffling act of self-destruction. Although he should be relieved, Chimecho can't understand why he feels as disturbed -- almost sickened -- as he does then.
