Fakemon Central (read the rules in the OP)

Here are the Grass Starters for a fan region concept I'm designing, based on Australia. This line is mainly inspired by the native Australian Pink-Winged Phasma, which is probably one of my favorite insects on appearance alone.

That is absolutely amazing! I love your style and the amount of thought that has gone into this!!

Was going through old papers and found some Fakemon I made when I was super young.

635384160.jpg

From above, it just looks like a smiling clover, but it's actually a martial artist. It can also spin its leaves around like a saw blade.

The evolution is significantly less cool.

635383932.jpg

It's just a buff leprechaun.

Tak berjudul5-1.png

Here Is Peacoth, a Fakemon I made.
As You Can see, Its Ghost and Flying Type,
Its Name is Based On Peacock and Goth
It Has :
50 HP
110 Physical Attack
95 Physical Deffense
130 Special Attack
95 Special Deffense
90 Speed
Its main Ability will Be Cursed Body, And Its Hidden Ability Will Be Draining Wings
Wich is an Ability That If A Pokemon Makes Contact, It Has 50% Chance That It Will Lowers The Opponents attack by 1 Stage, And Raises Your Special Attack By 1 Stage
I Still Dont Know what Its Pokedex and Its Signature Move, And Im Lazy To Make The Movepool Of It :/
Plus It will be a Fully Evolved Pokemon From a Branch Evolution, But Im Lazy To Make The Pre Evolve and The Other Evolution Of it right Now.
So...

been in a good designer mood

latter name could be less goofy and more cooler, but it fits.

Edit: Edited their back carapace based on advice from brightobject.

Not much to input on its origin, but from a layman perspective, I don't find a change in clothing to be enough to warrant as a mega design. The head ornament can definitely be fleshed out further so that it doesn't become some passive glitter added alongside the dress, but instead something that more clearly shows that this Jynx is in a new seat of power. Unless the long nails are imperative to the design origin, I'd say tone them down, particulaly so as I didn't recognise them as nails in their current form.
It looks like something Roark would have

Haven't been in much of mood to design fakemon (especially after the whole SwSh mess), and I've been doing non-pokemon art commissions lately.

But I recently did a touch up of one of my legendaries and started thinking about the dragon legendary it pairs with. I wanna model it off of various Chinese dragons (particularly shenlong) and the Jade Emperor, but I'm kinda stuck on how to design it as such while trying to balance out the details and keeping it unique/Pokemon-like.

This is one of my latest sketches of the head, but I feel it's too dog-like:
Already have its name, lore, and other stuff thought out, I'm just struggling on the design :psygrump:

Try shortening the snout, and giving it a wider one. It removes some of the dogginess and is more chinese-dragon like.

Still designing my Chinese dragon mon, but started focusing on the other legendary again. Had the random thought to make its tail more fluffier and larger at the base so the design feels more like a legendary:
Kinda looks a bit goofy to me, but (per Sugimori's words) part of the charm of a mon is it having an imperfection of some kind to make it more memorable. Could make the tail larger or longer, but I fear it'll take up too much of the design.

EDIT: (to avoid double posting) worked a little more on the dragon. Took ChoiceScarfed's advice and fixed up the snout, along with altering the horns and other details:

WIP palette for testing
Might have to make the body longer to avoid Rayquaza similarities, but I'm quite proud with it so far. One of the problems I've been struggling with is trying to convey an emperor in the design, and I can't just slap a hat-shaped forehead on it without it looking too unnatural and clashing with the horns. I've settled with forming the horns similar to a mianguan's hat.
There's also an issue in that dragons in Chinese mythology are often associated with and have the ability to control water, and I feel the yellow palette and "flame-like" fur design makes it appear as a fire type, and I wanna reserve blue for the shiny. Not to mention what eye design to go with exactly.

Here are some Fakemon Grass starters I created sorry if they look bad I am new to this and sorry for not drawing all the base images I have a thing were my hands constantly shake so I try to take it easy when I am drawing. #1: Diris it's line are based of of Dire Wolves and and Iris flowers because part of of the scientific name for the Dire wolf is Dirus. #2: Caniris it's name comes from conniving (hence the dark type) canine and iris. #3: Photocyon it's name comes from photosynthesis and aenocyon which was the proposed scientific name of the dire wolf before it became Canis Dirus Photocyon's signature move is Pack strike base power 50 it does 20 extra for each Pokémon on your team that are at the same level as Photocyon when it uses this move.

A question for all you fakemon artist out there. I have been developing fakemon for a while, but I can't do anything art related to save my life. I was wondering if anyone could give me their best renditions of fakemon I've created from their descriptions and what they're based off of. I would greatly appreciate it!

Check out The Workshop here! You can request art and some Smogon artist might pick up your request. Similarly, you could commission an artist whose portfolio looks like the style you're going for.

I forgot to post this last year, but here's the final set of starters for the Stralis region pokedex (once again drawn for me by @Kaijumon_). This trio is based on the rakali, a common rodent found in parts of Australia.
