With access to its signature move Fishious Rend, Dracovish is a strong wallbreaker and revenge killer on Water teams that can OHKO most of the unresisted metagame. Fishious Rend is the move that should be used most often; its other coverage moves should only be used when there is a Water-immune or bulky Water-resistant Pokemon on the opponent's side. Maximum Speed investment is used alongside a Choice Scarf in order to outspeed as many Pokemon as possible, allowing Fishious Rend to hit first.
Due to Dracovish's respectable bulk and typing, it offers key neutralities to Grass- and Electric-type attacks, which Water teams have a hard time switching into. Dracovish should be used to wallbreak early-game by spamming Fishious Rend to weaken the opponent's switch-ins to Water-type moves, opening up a sweep for its teammates later on. It is best used on rain teams with the support of Pelipper, which sets rain to boost its main attack and gives it a safe switch via a slow U-turn. Gyarados is a good teammate, as Dracovish breaks past physical walls like Mandibuzz that Gyarados struggles against. Toxapex is also a great partner, being able to sponge attacks as well as spread status to chip away at walls like Ferrothorn that Dracovish otherwise has trouble breaking through.
