[Overview]

At first glance, Dracovish's mediocre stats are unimpressive at best when compared to other Ubers Pokemon. However, it has one of the strongest moves in the game, Fishious Rend, and an incredible ability in Strong Jaw. These factors combined make it a potentially dangerous wallbreaker. Dracovish preys on common defensive staples such as Necrozma-DM, Blissey, and Ho-Oh with Fishious Rend. However, its weakness to status and lackluster defensive stats make it difficult to switch in and give it mediocre defensive utility, only really being able to check Kyogre and offensive Necrozma-DM in a pinch. This means that while Dracovish can be a scary wallbreaker against slower teams, it offers little utility against faster, more offensive teams. Finally, without any recovery, Dracovish is vulnerable to getting worn down quickly and needs to be played carefully to make use of its capability throughout the game.

[SET COMMENTS]

Fishious Rend is the primary source of Dracovish's power and OHKOes common defensive Pokemon such as specially defensive Necrozma-DM with Choice Band. Choice Band-boosted Outrage OHKOes specially defensive Eternatus, which can switch into Fishous Rend. Dracovish can choose to run Dragon Rush over Outrage on the Choice Band set, giving it a favorable chance to OHKO specially defensive Eternatus without locking it into Outrage. Psychic Fangs serves as a solid mid-ground attack, dealing heavy damage to Eternatus without fear of being locked into a move or missing. Crunch outdamages Roost on defensive Lunala, which Fishious Rend is unable to do, and prevents Shedinja from walling Dracovish. Strong Jaw gives a 1.5x damage boost to Fishious Rend, Crunch, and Psychic Fangs. Choice Band allows Dracovish to crush bulky teams and gives it OHKO potential against many threats, while Choice Scarf lets it outspeed defensive Pokemon such as Yveltal and defensive Eternatus, maintain Fishious Rend's power, and gain more opportunities to clean faster teams. An Adamant nature is crucial for certain damage rolls against its common checks such as Eternatus. On the other hand, a Jolly nature allows Dracovish to outspeed certain threats such as fast Eternatus and Jolly Marshadow with Choice Scarf or Sticky Web support.

Dracovish fits on teams that appreciate its wallbreaking abilities and can offer the necessary support for it to thrive. Kyogre's rain boosts Dracovish's power and reduces the need to predict, as even switch-ins like Eternatus cannot safely take Fishous Rend in rain; in return, Kyogre appreciates Dracovish taking advantage of Blissey and helping to overwhelm Water-resistant foes such as Eternatus and Ferrothorn. Pivot support is crucial for Dracovish; while it has decent bulk and a defensive typing, its lack of recovery and weakness to status make pivot support crucial to give Dracovish opportunities to wallbreak. As such, pivots like Teleport Blissey, U-turn Yveltal, and U-turn Landorus-T are great teammates for Dracovish. Clerics such as Calyrex-S, defensive Xerneas, and Blissey give Dracovish more leeway in absorbing status. Choice Band Dracovish should be used as a wallbreaker, specializing in defeating slower, bulkier teams. Therefore, a team with Choice Band Dracovish should be built to allow it multiple opportunities to break down defensive cores, and the player must use smart double switches and pivots to get in Dracovish against a Pokemon it is able to threaten. Due to Choice Band Dracovish's poor defensive profile and low Speed, it finds itself struggling to keep pace with faster, more offensive teams. As such, it appreciates fast teammates that can outspeed and beat offense teams, such as Choice Scarf Calyrex-S. Meanwhile, Choice Scarf Dracovish is better utilized as a strong cleaner. Lacking Choice Band's OHKO potential against bulkier teams, Choice Scarf Dracovish in particular appreciates other offensive teammates like Marshadow, Dragon Dance Zygarde, and Choice Specs Calyrex-S to break down defensive cores and entry hazard support, such as Spikes from Ferrothorn, to compensate the lack of power.

A Sand Rush set running Earthquake instead of Psychic Fangs and Low Kick over Crunch can be used on dedicated sand teams to bypass Dracovish's low Speed. However, Sand Rush Dracovish requires a lot of support, and Dracovish on sand teams faces competition from Excadrill, making this set rather niche. Possible coverage options such as Low Kick and Ice Fang seem appealing at first, but Fishious Rend is nearly as strong as Low Kick and Ice Fang against targets such as Ferrothorn and Zarude, respectively.

Checks and Counters
====

**Water-resistant Pokemon**: Water-resistant foes such as Eternatus, Zarude, Ferrothorn, Giratina, and Zekrom make it difficult for Dracovish to make progress. Eternatus tanks Fishious Rend from both Choice Band and Choice Scarf sets without rain active and threatens Dracovish out with its Dragon-type STAB move. However, it must be wary of Dracovish's coverage options. Physically defensive Zarude and the rarer Tangrowth are the best Dracovish answers, but both can be overwhelmed by rain-boosted Fishious Rend, and rain also limits Zarude's ability to heal off repeated attacks. Ferrothorn and Giratina can take Choice Scarf Dracovish's attacks reasonably well, but they can get worn down by repeated attacks and overwhelmed by the raw power of Choice Band Dracovish, especially with rain support. Lunala, although not a Water-resistant Pokemon, can tank Choice Band-boosted Fishious Rend well due to Shadow Shield and threaten Dracovish back with crippling status. However, it must be wary of a Choice Band-boosted Crunch outdamaging Roost's recovery. Zekrom must watch out for Dracovish's Dragon-type STAB moves, but it is able to take Fishious Rend due to its typing and use Dracovish as a setup opportunity.

**Residual Damage, Status, and Knock Off**: Residual damage, status, and Knock Off cripple Dracovish. Residual damage from entry hazards, Rocky Helmet, Iron Barbs, and status greatly limit its longevity, which is made worse by Dracovish's lack of recovery and resistances to residual damage. Status ailments such as paralysis and burn cripple Dracovish's offensive capabilities, and they are commonly dished out by many of Dracovish's best targets, such as Ho-Oh and Necrozma-DM. Yveltal and Necrozma-DM can remove Dracovish's item with Knock Off, making it easier for Pokemon such as Eternatus to deal with it.

**Faster Offensive Threats**: Faster offensive threats such as Calyrex-S, Marshadow, offensive Eternatus, Choice Scarf Galarian Darmanitan, and Zekrom can use Dracovish as an opportunity to either wallbreak or set up. Hyper offense teams in particular deserve a mention, as Dracovish has very little utility against them except for stomaching one attack from Dragon Dance Necrozma-DM or Choice Specs Kyogre.

  • Dracovish’s unique Dragon/Water typing, only shared by Kingdra and fellow uber Palkia, lends Dracovish a variety of useful resistances, including steel, fire, and water.
  • On the other hand, Dracovish’s typing burdens it with an irritating dragon and fairy weakness
  • Dracovish is also slow for an offensive pokemon, even with a choice scarf attached, and thus can easily be threatened out by faster, offensive threats few quick examples here probably like even non scarfed mons such as caly s and zacian
  • Without any recovery, Dracovish is prone to get worn down quickly by stealth rocks entry hazards and rocky helmet

[SET COMMENTS]

Do not be fooled by Dracovish’s unassuming appearance. It’s access to fishious rend, alongside its ability strong jaw gives it stupendous power that sends any neutral target to a fishious end. This set focuses on maximizing Dracovish’s awesome power, with choice band and an adamant nature crucial for allowing Dracovish to blow through its common checks, such as Eternatus. Fishious rend is the primary source of Dracovish’s power, and is an immensely spammable move, cleanly OHKOing the premier physical wall in ubers, Necrozma-Dusk Mane, after some chip damage. Outrage allows Dracovish to OHKO the specially defensive Eternatus looking to take a fishious rend, while also dealing huge damage to the water immune Gastrodon. However, locking yourself into outrage in a tier with a myriad of threats that can revenge kill Dracovish, such as Zacian-H, can be a death sentence, and thus Dracovish can choose to run dragon rush instead, still giving Dracovish a large chance to OHKO Eternatus while not locking Dracovish into a move. Psychic fangs serves as a solid mid ground, dealing heavy damage to Eternatus without fear of being locked into a move or missing, and also crushing Toxapex and Amoongus. Crunch blows through this feels a little too strongly worded since lunala can at least take 1 hit always and threaten burn, accurate but another term probably fits better Lunala, who could otherwise take a fishious rend and threaten Dracovish with a burn, and also prevents Shedninja from walling Dracovish.

Dracovish fits on teams that appreciate its incredibly powerful breaking abilities and can take advantage of the gaping holes Dracovish often leaves in its wake. Kyogre is Dracovish’s best friend, as the rain Kyogre provides can help Dracovish overwhelm its best counters such as Tangrowth with raw power, and Kyogre appreciates Dracovish tearing through Blissey and helping overwhelm Eternatus and Ferrothorn. Dracovish appreciates teammates that can lure in pokemon such as Tangrowth, such as Draco Meteor Zekrom. Spikes from Ferrothorn are greatly appreciated by Dracovish, as many of Dracovish’s best checks, such as Tangrowth, Eternatus, and Toxapex, can be chipped into Dracovish range even faster. Pivoting is crucial for Dracovish, as while it has decent bulk and defensive typing, its lack of recovery and weakness to all forms of passive damage makes pivoting crucial. As such, pivoters such as teleport Blissey and u-turn Yveltal are great teammates for Dracovish. As Dracovish’s speed is decent, but far from great, paralysis support from its teammates would be appreciated. Finally, teammates such as Zacian-H. Urshifu, and Marshadow all appreciated Dracovish’s breaking ability wearing down pokemon such as Tangrowth.

By passing out on the additional power offered by choice band, and instead avoid referencing other sets donning a choice scarf, Dracovish trades in its ability to crush fat teams to have a greater match up against faster teams. The scarf allows Dracovish to outspeed pokemon such as fast Yveltal, defensive Eternatus, and Lunala. It still retains incredible power with fishious rend and strong jaw, and thus it still has very few pokemon that can safely take its attacks. Psychic fangs is now the go to move against the common defensive Eternatus, as it is powerful enough to almost always 2HKO, while the scarf means that it now outspeeds defensive Eternatus. While Lunala can no longer safely switch into fishious rend, as now Dracovish outspeeds Lunala, crunch is still useful for Shedninja, as well as for Calyrex-S in a 1 on 1 scenario. 252 SpA Calyrex-Shadow Astral Barrage vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Dracovish: 282-333 (87.8 - 103.7%) -- 25% chance to OHKO ehhhhhh that's not a roll I like enough to be worth a mention lol, given how this is scarf and not even specs and no rocks / helmet chip. If you do wanna keep it mention how it has a chance to win the 1v1 against only scarf variants at full Outrage remains a powerful STAB move, that can hit targets such as opposing Dracovish and Palkia. While the speed offered by a jolly nature is indeed incredibly tantalizing, as the extra speed would allow Dracovish to outspeed offensive Eternatus, Adamant Zacian-H, and jolly Marshadow, the power drop is significant, as Dracovish is now unable to reliably 2HKO leftovers Necrozma-Dusk Mane and Eternatus. Additionally, Zacian-H and Marshadow are unable to switch into Dracovish regardless, and even with a jolly nature, Dracovish remains slower than jolly Zacian or non scarf Calyrex-S, thus, adamant is usually much preferred.

Dracovish’s partners remains largely the same to its band set. However, the lack of a choice band greatly diminishes Dracovish’s ability to break past its counters such as Toxapex, Tangrowth, and Gastrodon, with raw power. As a result, scarf Dracovish relies on its teammates to a greater extent to help break through these defensive pokemon. Thus, teammates such as Draco Meteor Zekrom, Zacian-H, Urshifu, and Marshadow are even more appreciated for this reason. Kyogre definitely needs a mention here, with rain making up for the power loss from banded and together they can chip down mutual pivots like etern, ferro, amoong, etc

[SET COMMENTS]

On dedicated sand teams, Dracovish can take up the role of a terrifying sand sweeper in its hidden ability sand rush. With sand rush, Dracovish now outspeeds almost every ubers pokemon under sand except for a few fast scarfers such as Calyrex-S. Fishious rend remains the go to move to fishious end most targets. As sand rush Dracovish passes over strong jaw for sand rush, earthquake is a superior option to hit Eternatus, 2HKOing defensive Eternatus, while also outspeeding it under sand. Low kick is a much better option than Crunch, as sand beats Shedninja regardless, and the lack of strong jaw means that now low kick does significantly more damage to Ferrothorn, which can otherwise now switch into fishious rend. Outrage allows Dracovish to hit other Dracovish, Palkia, and hit Eternatus slightly harder. An adamant nature is preferred over jolly for the crucial power, and because jolly does not outspeed anything significant with sand up except for Regieleki. While other item choices such as life orb can be considered, choice band’s lack of recoil and much desired power are necessary.

Dracovish’s partners remains largely the same to its band set. The necessary element of sand for Dracovish to function, however, means that Tyranitar is always needed as a partner, to set up sand for Dracovish. Tyranitar can help Dracovish by luring in counters such as Tangrowth and dealing massive damage to them through a coverage move such as ice beam or fire blast. Excadrill, as a staple of ubers sand teams, is also a great partner for Dracovish, spinning away the hazards that limit Dracovish’s longevity, and working in tandem with Dracovish to wear down pokemon such as Tangrowth. As discussed on discord, move this all to OO as it's a fairly niche thing already with many similarities to regular band that isn't really deserving of its own set

Using another item outside of Choice items, such as life orb for flexibility, or protective pads or heavy duty boots for longevity are potential options, however, they sacrifice crucial power or speed, and Dracovish often only needs to click fishious rend too. Thus, its generally preferred to use a choice item to stick to Dracovish’s strength, that its really really strong. I really don't think you're ever using another item outside of choice locks, something like Life Orb just makes it even worse at sticking around, pads doesn't break anything, and boots just sounds bad similar to pads Possible coverage options, such as low kick or ice fang on non sand rush sets, not a main set anymore may be appealing at first, but upon more careful examination, it is revealed that fishious rend is so powerful that low kick and ice fang only does a tiny bit more damage than fishious rend. Sand Rush Here, mention how it's hard to fit on teams and requires a lot of support while also facing competition in team slots from drill. I'd also give a mention to jolly nature on regular banded sets, since with webs it can outrun things like ada zacian and jolly marsh, but mention that being specific to webs and losing rolls on pex / etern etc

Checks and Counters
====

**Regenerator pivots**: Regenerator pivots, namely Tangrowth, Toxapex, and to a lesser extent, Amoongus, are some of the best ways to keep the otherwise difficult to wall Dracovish in check. Tangrowth avoids a 2HKO at full hp, and quickly wears down Dracovish with rocky helmet, while staying healthy with regenerator. Toxapex and Amoongus’ psychic weakness allows them to be hit super effectively by psychic fangs, which means they can’t come in on a psychic fangs more than once, but they force the Dracovish user into uncomfortable 50-50s, while still having great longevity with regenerator and chipping Dracovish with rocky helmet.

**Defensive Eternatus and Palkia Dragon-types**: Defensive Eternatus and Palkia both resist Dracovish’s fishious rend, and can thus switch into and eat a fishious rend, while threatening Dracovish out with their dragon STABs. Palkia’s quad resist allows it to eat more fishious rends, but Eternatus’s access to recovery allows it to check Dracovish through the course of a game. However, both of their dragon weaknesses, as well as Eternatus’ psychic weakness, means that they are vunerable to Dracovish’s secondary STAB move or other coverage, which, with good prediction, can OHKO Palkia or Eternatus. However, Dracovish being possibly locked into outrage after OHKOing Eternatus and Palkia can also be taken advantage of by their teammates, so the Dracovish user must be wary of using Outrage. Giratina takes fishious surprisingly super well so it can also be mentioned. Might want to cut the size down a bit just in terms of wording though since this feels a little crowded, with 2 sentences in a row starting with "however"

**Residual damage**: Residual damage in hazards and rocky helmet can be particularly irritating for Dracovish. As Dracovish lacks any sort of recovery, nor any sort of resistance to residual damage, residual damage in the form of hazards, rocky helmet, iron barbs, and status all greatly limit its longevity. However, reliable hazard removal, through defoggers such as Ho-oh, the use of knock off to remove rocky helmets, as well as smart play to keep Dracovish healthy can all greatly extend Dracovish’s longevity.

**Water immunities**: Water immunities such as Gastrodon and Shedninja can play mind games on the Dracovish user by virtue of taking exactly 0% from Dracovish’s fishious rend. Gastrodon in particular can do well against non band versions of Dracovish, as Dracovish needs to lock itself into outrage to deal enough damage to Gastrodon, which can leave Dracovish as an easy target for potential revenge killing. However, with the right prediction, Gastrodon and particularly Shedninja can be dealt heavy damage, with Shedninja instantly dying to a well timed crunch, and Gastrodon being 2HKOed by crunch or psychic fangs from the choice band set, and being 2HKOed by outrage from the choice scarf or sand set.

Additionally, Dracovish’s unique Dragon/Water typing, only shared by Kingdra and fellow Uber Palkia, lends Dracovish a variety of useful resistances, including sSteel, fFire, and wWater. On the other hand, Dracovish’s typing burdens it with an irritating dDragon and fFairy weakness. Dracovish is also slow for an offensive pokemon, even with a cChoice sScarf attached, and thus can easily be threatened out by faster, offensive threats such as Calyrex-S and Marshadow Zacian-H, as well as limiting its opportunities to break against defensive staples such as Yveltal and Eternatus. Finally, without any recovery, Dracovish is prone to get worn down quickly by entry hazards and rocky helmet, and thus needs to be played carefully to make use of its capability throughout the game.

I'd prefer to see a mention of how much Dracovish hates getting para'd in the overview as well, or something making it clear that Fishious Rend's power is reliant on not being slower than the opposing pokemon. Not going to do the GP teams job, but you should look through the rest of the analysis and remember to capitalise the types, moves, and items you need to in the rest of the analysis just to save both you and the QC team time. Also removed the Zacian mention for obvious reasons.

With Zacian being banned this isnt really the case anymore, I'd personally argue Ferrothorn is the premier physical wall, but Lunala would also come to mind before NDM. However, this now means you also dont even need the chip damage to OHKO it. Outrage allows Dracovish to OHKO specially defensive Eternatus looking to take a fishious rend, while also dealing huge damage to the water immune Gastrodon. Urshifu, and Marshadow all appreciated Dracovish’s breaking ability wearing down pokemon such as Tangrowth.

This section mentions Tangrowth too much IMHO. Tangrowth has become a lot less common with the Zac ban, and while it'll do the same job vs Dracovish, it feels disingenuous to be having it mentioned this often. I also think I'd mention either cleric support or status absorbers like Zygarde (which also fits the paralysis support) because of the speed requirement of Fishious as well. As for what teammates appreciate Dracovish's breaking ability, I'd highlight that the ones who appreciate it most are the Physical Sweepers of the tier that overlap checks with Fodase. As it stands, nothing is incorrect about this but it does feel a bit dated already.

By donning a choice scarf, Dracovish trades in its ability to crush fat teams to have a greater match up against faster teams. The scarf allows Dracovish to outspeed pokemon such as fast Yveltal, defensive Eternatus, and Lunala. It still retains incredible power with fishious rend and strong jaw, and thus it still has very few pokemon that can safely take its attacks. I think that Fishious Rend's power doubling so long as you move first is too relevant to not mention here, the potential to outdamage the Banded set vs stuff like fast Yveltal and Urshifu is the only reason this is even vaguely a set in the first place. Psychic fangs is now the go to move against the common defensive Eternatus, as it is powerful enough to almost always 2HKO, while the scarf means that it now outspeeds defensive Eternatus. While Lunala can no longer safely switch into fishious rend, as now Dracovish outspeeds Lunala, while crunch is still useful for Shedninja. Outrage remains a powerful STAB move, that can hit targets such as opposing Dracovish and Palkia. While the speed offered by a jolly nature is indeed incredibly tantalizing, as the extra speed would allow Dracovish to outspeed offensive Eternatus, Mewtwo Adamant Zacian-H, and jolly Marshadow, the power drop is significant, as Dracovish is now unable to reliably 2HKO leftovers Necrozma-Dusk Mane Eternatus. Your discretion as to include stuff like Ferrothorn or Zygarde that Jolly also makes you noticibly weaker against. Additionally, Mewtwo Zacian-H and Marshadow are unable to switch into Dracovish regardless, and even with a jolly nature, Dracovish remains slower than jolly Zacian or non scarf Calyrex-S, thus, adamant is almost always usually much preferred.

Kyogre’s rain is greatly enjoyed by Dracovish, as it gives Dracovish the power boost it misses from not running choice band. Additionally, the two form a synergetic offensive core that overwhelms the opposing water resists such as Eternatus, Ferrothorn, Tangrowth, and Amoongus. The lack of a choice band greatly diminishes Dracovish’s ability to break past its counters such as Toxapex, Ferrothorn Tangrowth, and Gastrodon, with raw power. As a result, scarf Dracovish relies on its teammates to a greater extent to help break through these defensive pokemon. For example, Draco Meteor Zekrom lures in and deals heavy damage to Tangrowth. Other teammates such as, Zacian-H, Urshifu, and Marshadow can work together to wear down shared counters and checks such as Ferrothorn Tangrowth and Eternatus. Hazard stacking, such as through Ferrothorn’s spikes, can also be powerful in quickly wearing down Dracovish’s many grounded checks and counters such as Toxapex, Opposing Ferrothorn Tangrowth, and Eternatus. Finally, pivoters such as teleport Blissey and u-turn Yveltal can give free opportunities for Dracovish to break an opposing team.

I have the same issues here as I did with the banded set, it's dated to the Zacian meta when you first wrote this. For the time being I essentially replaced Tangrowth mentions with Ferrothorn, but you could also touch up on this by talking about these teammates appreciating the more secured offensive matchup that Scarf provides that Band doesnt (most specifically in the case of Urshifu, who also doesnt really like opposing offense matchups).

A sand rush set running earthquake instead of psychic fangs and low kick over crunch may be used on dedicated sand teams as a sand rush sweeper. Sand rush with sand up allows Dracovish to bypass its low speed. However, sand rush Dracovish requires a lot of support, and Dracovish on sand teams faces competition for the sand rush sweeper role against the likes of excellent Excadrill, thus, this set is rather niche. Possible coverage options, such as low kick or ice fang, may be appealing at first, but upon more careful examination, it is revealed that fishious rend is nearly as strong as Low Kick and Ice Fang against targets such as Ferrothorn and Tangrowth. A Jolly nature may be used over an Adamant nature on the Choice Band set with Web support, as a Jolly Dracovish outspeeds Jolly Marshadow, Adamant Zacian, and Offensive Eternatus under Webs. However, a Jolly nature misses out on crucial damage rolls against Pokemon such as Eternatus and Toxapex.

Checks and Counters
====

**Ferrothorn**: Physically defensive Ferrothorn can switch in directly on Fishious Rend and can wear Dracovish down significantly with Leech Seed, Iron Barbs, and the hazards it can set.
You might want to add more stuff here but with PhysDef Ferro becoming the standard, I feel it's necessary to include at the top of this section personally.

**Dragon Types**: Dragon types such as Defensive Eternatus and Palkia resist Dracovish’s fishious rend, and can thus switch into and eat a fishious rend, while threatening Dracovish out with their dragon STABs. Palkia’s quad resist allows it to eat a number of fishious rends, and Eternatus’s access to recovery allows it to check Dracovish through the course of a game. However, their dragon weaknesses means that they are vunerable to Dracovish’s STAB Outrage, which, with good prediction, can OHKO or deal heavy damage to them, and many dragons lack recovery to take repeated attacks from Dracovish.

I'd prefer to look at this again, especially the teammates sections of both sets, after its been updated a little to reflect the post-Zacian metagame. I've sent you a message on discord, ping me either in PMs or in the analysis channel when its been touched up so I can have a quick look and give it the second stamp, because it's almost there.

I think this analysis wanks Dracovish too much and is in general a bit too wordy. You need to mention how this mon provides 0 Defensive Utility (especially when paired with ogre which doesn’t provide that much itself). It’s an extremely strong stallbreaker against a lot of balance teams but it also leaves your team open to being weak to a lot of common threats since 2/6 mons on your team don’t really check anything. This makes it really MU fishy imo.

Just to illustrate what I mean, I’ll show the first paragraph:

At first glance, Dracovish’s mediocre stats are unimpressive at best when compared to other Ubers. However, Dracovish has access to one of the strongest moves in the game, Fishious Rend, and an incredible ability in Strong Jaw. All of these factors combine to make Dracovish one of the most terrifying wallbreakers in ubers, capable of ludicrous amounts of power.

The above is a bit wordy by itself but alright.... I do think the last sentence wanks Dracovish way too much, however. This is not a common Pokemon at all and was rarely seen for nearly all of UPL.

Dracovish easily preys on common defensive staples such as Necrozma-Dusk Mane, Blissey, and Ho-Oh with its signature Fishious Rend.

OK

Additionally, Dracovish’s unique Dragon/Water typing, only shared by Kingdra and fellow Uber Palkia, lends Dracovish a variety of useful resistances, including steel, fire, and water. On the other hand, Dracovish’s typing burdens it with an irritating dragon and fairy weakness.

None of the above information is useful in any way. How does it help me that, oh wow, Palkia is also Water/Dragon! Additionally, it can lead to a false idea that Dracovish is providing any defensive utility. Instead, you could just shorten this with the paragraph above and write something like “Dracovish’s typing allows it to switch into common Pokemon like Necrozma-DM and Ho-Oh.”, and then you can contrast this with it’s lack of defensive utility.

Dracovish is also slow for an offensive pokemon, even with a choice scarf attached, and thus can easily be threatened out by faster, offensive threats such as Calyrex-S, as well as limiting its opportunities to break against defensive staples such as Yveltal and Eternatus.

This is also a bit wordy imo. You need to emphasize how Dracovish’s speed makes its role as a breaker rather than a sweeper.

Finally, without any recovery, Dracovish is prone to get worn down quickly by entry hazards and rocky helmet, and thus needs to be played carefully to make use of its capability throughout the game.

OK after strikes
Checks and Counters needs a big overhaul, stuff like Pex, Amoonguss, and Palkia aren’t that common. Things like Physically Defensive Zarude, Zekrom, Giratina, Lunala, and Physically Defensive Eternatus should be mentioned more instead. I would mention paralysis or status more generally in C&C as well, as a lot of the Pokemon that you are switching in on (such as NDM or Ho-Oh) commonly run twave which severely limits Vish’s breaking power.

You mention the Choice Band set lacking speed when talking about teammates that help the Choice Scarf set. I assume that this is just in the wrong place.

I think C&C still needs some work done. For starters, I think Eternatus and Ferrothorn deserve their own specific mention before other 'Water Resists' given their respective prominence over stuff like Giratina. Lunala is not a Water Resist, so it should be in its own section. I also feel like each of Residual damage, Status, and Knock Off should be its own section, given that each one is a good way to have countermeasures to Dracovish. Finally, I feel there should be a point about 'Faster Offensive Pokemon' or something similar to emphasise that it's forced out by a lot of offensively inclined mons.

Also this is more a point for after you get the second stamp, make sure you touch up the little things that will make life easier for the GP team. Stuff like capitalising moves, natures and abilities, especially for stuff like Fishious Rend. Check out the 1v1 version of Dracovish for an example of what I mean by that.

For the C&C, got any ideas of how to divide up the sections? Saying smth like “Etern + Ferro” and “Other water resists” sounds weird. Also, about the faster offensive mons, the scarf set is really only outsped by caly, so I choose not to have “offensive mons” cause it wouldn’t really apply to the scarf.

Sorry for the delay, wanted to get some other opinions before responding. Scarf is the lesser set of the two, so I think its fine to include offensive mons, maybe with the caveat that that applys only to the Banded set or something. As for how to divide up the sections, I'd go either with having Etern and Ferro as their own unique sections, or having Ferro with the "Other Water Resists" section and just having Etern be the only one with its own section.

Also for the EVs, SDef goes before Speed, not the other way around.

After looking at this again, would it not be a good idea to just merge the Band and Scarf sets? Their options and appreciated teammates are nearly identical, so you could just mention the play differences between the two

I think you should mention more of the specific calcs for Dracovish in the rain:

252+ Atk Choice Band Strong Jaw Dracovish Fishious Rend (170 BP) vs. 160 HP / 0 Def Eternatus in Rain: 417-491 (90.4 - 106.5%) -- 43.8% chance to OHKO

252+ Atk Strong Jaw Dracovish Fishious Rend (170 BP) vs. 160 HP / 0 Def Eternatus in Rain: 279-328 (60.5 - 71.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Black Sludge recovery

252 Atk Strong Jaw Dracovish Fishious Rend (170 BP) vs. 160 HP / 0 Def Eternatus in Rain: 254-299 (55 - 64.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Black Sludge recovery

Think this is pretty relevant because I feel part of the reason to use Vish is to just click one button and not have to predict. Against the majority of teams Vish can plow through Eternatus with the rain up - although you don’t mention this strictly in the analysis. In regards to Choice Scarf, I feel it may be a bit overstated as a revenge killer instead of breaker, because the Speed will allow you to go for a second boosted Fishous Rend in situations where Band could not (like a low roll Fishious on Etern in the rain). Specifically I also feel Physically Defensive Eternatus, Zekrom, and Tangrowth should be stated more as the best checks to Vish in the meta.

How about mentioning a weakness to HO?

and Zekrom (provided Dracovish isn’t locked into scarf Outrage)
except for stomaching one hit from DD Necrozma-Dusk Mane. However, none of these offensive threats save for offensive Eternatus and Zekrom are able to safely switch into a fishious rend, and both offensive Eternatus and Zekrom fear Dracovish’s secondary STAB, and do not enjoy taking the full force of a choice band fishious rend either.
These things aren’t necessary in the checks and counters section - keep it simple.

Rest of the analysis looks good enough, it’s a bit wordy imo but GP can handle that

This means that while Dracovish can be a scary wallbreaker against slower teams, it offers little utility against faster, more offensive teams. Finally, without any recovery, Dracovish is prone to getting worn down quickly, and thus needs to be played carefully to make use of its capability throughout the game.

[SET COMMENTS]

Fishious rend is the primary source of Dracovish’s power, and is an immensely great, spammable move, cleanlywith OHKOing common defensive staplesPokemon such as specially defensive Necrozma-Dusk Mane with a Choice Band. Outrage allows Dracovish to deal significant damage to specially defensive Eternatus looking to take a fFishious rRend, OHKOing with a Choice Band. Dracovish can also choose to run dDragon rRush over Outrage on a Choice Band Dracovishset, still giving Dracovish a favorable chance to OHKO specially defensive Eternatus without locking Dracovish into a move. Psychic fFangs serves as a solid midground, dealing heavy damage to Eternatus without fear of being locked into a move or missing. Crunch outdamages rRoost on defensive Lunala, which fFishious rRend is unable to do, and also prevents Shedninja from walling Dracovish. Strong Jaw is the preferred ability to give a free 1.5x damage boost to Fishious rRend, Crunch, and Psychic fFangs. Choice Band allows Dracovish to really flex its trademarkhave the power to crush bulkier teams, and it gives Dracovish the OHKO potential that the Choice Scarf set is lacksing. On the other hand, the Choice Scarf set allows Dracovish to use its newfound sSpeed to outspeed defensive staplesPokemon such as fast Yveltal and defensive Eternatus, allowing fFishious rRend to remaintain its double power, while also giving Dracovish more opportunities and better chances to clean against faster teams. An aAdamant nNature is crucial for certain damage rolls Dracovish needs against its common checks, such as Eternatus. On the other hand, a jJolly nNature can be considered to allow Dracovish to outspeed certain threats, such as fast Eternatus and jJolly Marshadow with a Choice Scarf or wSticky Webs support.

Dracovish fits on teams that appreciate its wallbreaking abilities and can offer the necessary support for Dracovish to thrive. Kyogre is Dracovish’s best friend, as appreciates Kyogre as a teampartner because the rain Kyogre provides can boost Dracovish’s power to even higher levels, and. In return Kyogre appreciates Dracovish taking advantage of Blissey and helping to overwhelm wWater-resistsant Pokemon in Eternatus and Ferrothorn. Kyogres rain allows Dracovish to forgo prediction, as in rain, even formerly decent fFishious rRend switch-ins such as Eternatus cannot safely switch into either cboth, a Choice bBand or cand Choice sScarf fFishious rRend. Pivoting is crucial for Dracovish, as while it has decent bulk and defensive typing, its lack of recovery and weakness to all forms of status makes pivoting crucial to allow Dracovish opportunities to wallbreak. As such, pivoters such as tlike Blissey with Teleport Blissey and U-Turn Yveltal with U-turn are great teammates for Dracovish. Clerics such as Calyrex-S and Blissey are appreciated to give Dracovish more leeway in absorbing status. Choice Band Dracovish should be used as a wallbreaker, specializing in defeating slower, bulkier teams. As such,, therefore a team with Choice Band Dracovish should be built to allow Dracovish multiple opportunities to break down a defensive core,s and the player must use smart double switches and pivots to get Dracovish in safely vs somethingagainst a Pokemon Dracovish is able to threatens. Due to Choice Band Dracovish’s poor defensive profile and relatively low speed, it finds itself struggling to keep pace with faster, more offensively orientated teams. As such, it appreciates teammates that can provide speed control and beat offense, such as cChoice sScarf Calyrex-S. Meanwhile, Choice Scarf Dracovish is better utilized as a strong cleaner. Lacking Choice Band's OHKO potential against fattbulkier teams, Choice Scarf Dracovish in particular appreciates other offensively orientated teammates working together to break down defensive cores, along with entry hazard support, such as sSpikes from Ferrothorn, to compensate for the (relative) lack of power.

A sSand rRush set running eEarthquake instead of pPsychic fFangs and lLow kKick over cCrunch may be used on dedicated sSand tTeams as a sSand rSush sweeper. Sand rRush with sSand up allows Dracovish to bypass its problem of its low speed. However, sSand rRush Dracovish requires a lot of support, and Dracovish on sSand tTeams faces competition for the sand rush sweeper role against the excellentm Excadrill, thus, this set is rather niche. Possible coverage options, such as lLow kKick or iIce fFang, may be seem appealing at first, but upon more careful examination, it is revealed that fFishious rRend is nearly as strong as Low Kick and Ice Fang against targets such as Ferrothorn and Zarude, respectively.

Checks and Counters
====

**Water-resistsant Pokemon**: Water resists such as Eternatus, Zarude, Ferrothorn, Giratina, and Zekrom can make it difficult for Dracovish to make progress. Eternatus is able to eat ftank Fishious rRends from both cChoice bBand and cChoice sScarf without rain active, and threatens Dracovish out with its dDragon-type STAB, h move. However, Eterenatus must be wary of Dracovish’s coverage options. Zarude, especially phyPhsically defensive Zarude, especially and the rarer Tangrowth are one of the best Dracovish answers, but both must watch out for a rain boosted fFishious rRends overwhelming them, as well as rain gimping Zarude’s ability to heal off repeated attacks. Ferrothorn, and Giratina can all take sChoice Scarf Dracovish’s attacks reasonably well, but Ferrothorn and Giratina can get worn down by repeated attacks, and cChoice bBand Dracovish, especially with rain support, can overwhelms them with raw power. Lunala, although not a water resist, can eat ctank Choice bBand-boosted fFishious rRends well due to its sShadow sShield, and threaten it back with crippling status. However, it must be wary of ca Choice banded cCrunch dealing more damage to it than rRoost can heal off. Zekrom must watch out for Dracovish’s dDragon-type STAB moves, but it is able to take a fFishious rRend due to its water resist,typing and uses Dracovish as setup opportunity to set up.

**Residual damage, Status, and Knock Off**: Residual damage, status, and kKnock oOff can all cripple Dracovish. Residual damage can be irritating for Dracovish, as Dracovish lacks any sort of recovery, nor any sort of resistance to residual damage. Residual damage in the form of entry hazards, rRocky hHelmet, iIron bBarbs, and status all greatheavily limit its longevity. Status, especially paralysis and burn, all cripple Dracovish’s offensive capabilities, and paralysis and burn are commonly dished out by many of Dracovish’s best targets, such as like Ho-Oh and Necrozma-Dusk Mane, limiting Dracovish’s opportunities. Additionally, Yveltal and Necrozma-Dusk Mane can both knockremove Dracovish’s item, and without its cChoice bBand or cChoice sScarf, Dracovish becomes much easier to deal with for pPokemon such as Eternatus.

**Faster Offensive Threats**: Faster offensive threats such as Calyrex-S, Marshadow, offensive Eternatus, sChoice Scarf Galarian-Darmanitan-G, and Zekrom can all use Dracovish as opportunity to either wallbreak or set up. Hyper Offensive teams in particular deserve a mention, as Dracovish has very little utility against Hyper Offensive teams except for stomaching one hit from Dragon Dance Necrozma-Dusk Mane.

Fishious Rend is the primary source of Dracovish's(ASCII Apostrophe) power, and is a strong, spammable move, OHKOing OHKOes common defensive Pokemon such as specially defensive Necrozma-DM with a Choice Band. Outrage allows Dracovish to deal significant damage to specially defensive Eternatus looking to take a Fishious Rend, OHKOing with a Choice Band. Choice Band Outrage OHKOes specially defensive Eternatus, which can switch into Fishous Rend. Dracovish can also choose to run Dragon Rush over Outrage on a the Choice Band set, still giving Dracovish it a favorable chance to OHKO specially defensive Eternatus without locking Dracovish it into a move. Strong Jaw is the preferred ability to gives a free 1.5x damage boost to Fishious Rend(capitalize), Crunch, and Psychic Fangs. Choice Band allows Dracovish to have the power to crush bulkier teams and it gives Dracovish the OHKO potential that the Choice Scarf set is lacking. On the other hand, the Choice Scarf set allows Dracovish to use its speed to outspeed defensive Pokemon such as Yveltal and defensive Eternatus, allowing Fishious Rend to maintain its double power, while also giving Dracovish more opportunities and better chances to clean against faster teams. An Adament Adamant nature is crucial for certain damage rolls Dracovish needs against its common checks,(RC) such as Eternatus. Finally, without any recovery, Dracovish is vulnerable to getting worn down quickly and needs to be played carefully to make use of its capability throughout the game.

[SET COMMENTS]

Fishious Rend is the primary source of Dracovish's power, (RC) and OHKOes common defensive Pokemon such as specially defensive Necrozma-DM with Choice Band. Choice Band-boosted Outrage OHKOes specially defensive Eternatus, which can switch into Fishous Rend. Dracovish can choose to run Dragon Rush over Outrage on the Choice Band set, giving it a favorable chance to OHKO specially defensive Eternatus without locking it into a move Outrage. Psychic Fangs serves as a solid mid-ground attack, dealing heavy damage to Eternatus without fear of being locked into a move or missing. Crunch outdamages Roost on defensive Lunala, which Fishious Rend is unable to do, and prevents Shedninja Shedinja from walling Dracovish. Strong Jaw gives a free 1.5x damage boost to Fishious Rend, Crunch, and Psychic Fangs.

As such, pivots like U-Turn Teleport Blissey, U-turn Tveltal Yveltal, and U-turn Landorus-T are great teammates for Dracovish. Lacking Choice Band's OHKO potential against bulkier teams, Choice Scarf Dracovish in particular appreciates other offensive teammates like Marshadow, Dragon Dance Zygarde, or and Choice Specs Calyrex-S to break down defensive cores and entry hazard support, such as Spikes from Ferrothorn, to compensate the lack of power.

Other Options
====

Possible coverage options such as Low Kick or and Ice Fang seem appealing at first, but Fishious Rend is nearly as strong as Low Kick and Ice Fang against targets such as Ferrothorn and Zarude, respectively.

Checks and Counters
====

Lunala, although not a Water-resistant Pokemon, can tank Choice Band-boosted Fishious Rend well due to Shadow Shield, (RC) and threaten Dracovish back with crippling status.
