For those who haven't seen yet, Latias is now officially OU. I was initially hesitant about the prospect of reintroducing Latias, but after six months of seeing her in action in big tournaments and playing on the ladder I think that this is definitely the right call. Latias is a great mon for sure, but not overpowered or overcentralizing and she does bring more teambuilding options to the table. 85% voting for OU shows that this was a pretty clear-cut and non-controversial decision, which is good because a highly contested unban in an old gen is the last thing we want.

Tier changes are really happening now, so I decided to average all the 1630 stats from every month since Latias was allowed. I'm pretty sure this is what we're supposed to use to decide tiers, not the 1760 stats from my post last month or having BKC make all the decisions.

Does anyone else wonder, if a few of these dropped off due to the introduction of Latias? I for one think Weavile may have, as its pursuit no longer traps all Pokemon with dark weaknesses, and its ice punch / night slash doesn't always KO latias.
The chain of logic is thus:
- Premise: Weavile beats Pokemon weak to dark, except Latias or Rotom-A
- Premise: People are hesitant to run too many Pokemon on their team which are weak to dark
- Premise: Latias is weak to dark
- Therefore, people will run less Pokemon Weaviule can beat
- Therefore, Weavile sees less usage
It is possible that Mamoswine dropped out of favor for the same reasons, since can't KO Latias with ice shard.
