Arena: Bowser's Castle

A huge castle with several pillars which are good hiding places and easy to climb. Besides the stage, there are several pools of lava scattered around. Flying type Pkemon can easily soar on the thermals. There isn't any water anywhere nearby. Earthshaking moves do damage to pillars, which fall after being hit 3 times, and the castle collapses as well, turning the battlefield to rubble. There may be a way to cool down the lava however...

Summary: Flying type Pokemon use 1 less energy to use flying type attacks, attacks like Surf which use water from the surroundings are banned unless the lava is cooled, 3 earthshaking moves turns the battlefield into rubble.

Turn Order: (If I got your genders wrong, please correct me)

Destiny Warrior sends two of his Pokemon out.
Darkamber releases two of her Pokemon and attacks with both of them.
Destiny Warrior issues the attacks with both of his Pokemon.
Reffing.
Darkamber attacks with both Pokemon.
Destiny Warrior attacks with both Pokemon.

Battle Type Notes:

In Double Battles any Pokemon may target any other Pokemon, and a large variety of attacks may be either spread out or focused. The match ends when all of either trainers Pokemon have fainted. KO Bonuses applied to Pokemon will be awarded to the Pokemon who gets the finishing move on an opponent.

Send out your first two Pokemon, Destiny Warrior.

Type disadvantage ahoy!

Dablob (Gastly) and Tim (Cranidos)! SPREAD THE POKEORGANS ALL OVER THE WALLS

Dablob, Sludge Bomb Street Fighter! Tim, while he's stunned, ram it with Hammer Arm! Dablob, fire off a Shadow Ball at Aqua Regia while Tim uses Earthquake! Finish by attacking Street Fighter with Sludge Bomb, while Tim makes a very Scary Face!

We can do this!

Street Fighter Fake Out Tim for starters, and Aqua Regia use Thunder Wave on Dablob. Next, Aqua Regia, ascend one of the pillars using Thunder to evade the attacks, and Street Fighter, use Drain Punch on Tim to regain health! Finally, Aqua Regia, use Rain Dance to cool down the lava, and Street Fighter, use Payback on Gastly!

Aqua Regia: Thunder Wave(Dablob)~ascend a pillar by propelling upwards with Thunder~Rain Dance

Street Fighter: Fake Out(Tim)~Drain Punch(Tim)~Payback(Dablob)

Begin Round 1!

Two trainers stand atop Bowser's Castle ready to battle. The imposing statuary of the great King of the Koopas is truly remarkable to behold, as fascinating and interesting as it is surly and intimidating. "WHAT DO YOU MEAN SURLY AND INTIMIDATING!! FUNGAH!!" Bellows from below. "NOTHING LORD BOWSER!" I shout back.

The Pokemon are released. Destiny Warrior unleashes Street Fighter the Scraggy and Aqua Regia the Chinchou. Aqua Regia looks around, feeling a bit out of place, but ready for battle. Darkamber smiles and releases Dablob the Gastly and Tim the Cranidos. Tim gazes at the stauary pleasantly.

But the niceities end quickly. Street Fighter immediately jumps out at Tim and shocks it into inaction with Fake Out. Spotting its moment of opportunity, Dablob unleashes a nasty Sludge Bomb. The exploding, soupy goop seeps into Scraggy, Poisoning the awkward looking dragon. It is not amused. Unfortunaty for Dablob, Aqua Regia has prepared a shocking surprise, and strikes Dablob with a crippling Thunder Wave. Dablob floats haplessly, as all hell is about to break loose.

Tim unleashes a devastating Earthquake that rattles the entire arena. Unfortunately for its comrade, its Levitation fails an instant before the tremor strikes, doing massive damage to friend and foe alike. For its part, Aqua Regia's Thunder explodes on the ground, and he launches himself right into a pillar in the process of toppling from Tim's Earthquake. The castle withstands the blasts with a massive chunk blasted out where Aqua Regia's Thunder was used and debris strewn all over the field. In the aftermath, Street Fighter strikes Tim with a devastating Drain Punch and recovers from the chaos admirably. Dablob's Shadow Ball also finds its mark, though Aqua Regia doesn't appear any more affected than usual. Give it credit though, it did just crawl out of exploding rubble.

Tim finishes the round by putting his game face on, catching both Street Fighter and Aqua Regia off guard. They feel hesitant, but pursue their assault nonetheless. Aqua Regia begins doing a dance, and a dark storm cloud appears overhead. It begins raining heavily, washing over the debris and turning some of it into mud. Water flows down the sides of the castle, making it slick and slippery. The Lava pools simmer and sizzle from the rain, cooling down. Somehow the statuary retains its unclean, grungy look. An angered Street Fighter turns its attention to Dablob, who is still in shock from the shaking and paralysis. Street Fighter couldn't help but relent, he felt rather sad for Dablob. Relenting may not have been wise. Dablob launches another Sludge Bomb immediately after, recovering somewhat from its shock.

Inside Street Fighter the Poison from Dablob's earlier Sludge Bomb had taken root, however its body quickly glowed and it felt good as new, pumped for the next round.

End Round 1

Field Effects: Stage has been damaged significantly by Earthquake and Thunder. The field is very soft where Thunder has struck and will collapse in with another Earthquake. Other areas are less prone to collapse.

Rain will last for 5 more Rounds.

Begin Round 2!

It's pouring buckets here at Bowser's Castle as the combatants gear up for the next round. The lava pools have hardened for the most part and impacted areas are starting to fill in with water. The Pokemon ready themselves.

Tim leaves where he left off, striking Street Fighter with a powerful Hammer Arm. Street Fighter isn't quite as good at taking what it dishes out and stumbles back into a puddle. Dablob watches on helplessly as it is gripped by paralysis, which Aqua Regia takes full advantage of by smashing it with Psybeam. Dablob looks phazed for a moment, but recovers. Street Fighter retaliates against Tim with another Drain Punch, restoring its energy once more.

With Aqua Regia slow to start from the infliction of Scary Face, Tim exploits its speed advantage and smashes the ground, picking up rocks and sending them brutally into Aqua Regia. The impact is so forceful that the ground under Aqua Regia gives way a little more. It can't take much more abuse. Rain pours into it further, leaving Aqua Regia partially submerged. This is no bother for Aqua Regia, who responds with a Water Gun. The Water Gun picks up even more power from the surrounding rain and gushes into Tim with an intense force. Dablob recovers from its paralytic state to strike Aqua Regia with a Shadow Ball, and for its efforts it recieves an enraged Street Fighter's Payback from the side. Dablob is feeling weakened from these assaults, but it continues on.

Tim sees the ground under Aqua Regia crumbling under the weight of the water and adds to the havoc by launching an Ice Beam. Not only does it strike Aqua Regia, it freezes the puddle of water and impacts the ground below. The expanding and contraction of the water into Ice takes its toll on the floor, and the entire frozen puddle collapses into the Ground with Aqua Regia stuck inside! A pillar topples over the rubble, leaving a shattered hole full of ice and rocky debris. The cold Rain continues to pour down, offering no assistance to Aqua Regia, who remains encased. Its attemtpts to use Agility are rendered futile. Street Fighter can't help but feel a little satisfied given its dark tendencies, but it focuses its rage on Tim. It struggles with the solid arena floor and it struck by Dablob's Sludge Bomb in its attempts to break through, but it eventually carves a path under Tim and strikes. The hole quickly fills with water afterward.

In the aftermath Aqua Regia remains largely helpless, though a little heat or some assistance will help it break out. The other combatanats are also severly weakened from the brawl. Rain continues to wash over the field.

End Round 2

Field Effects:
Stage has been damaged significantly by Earthquake and Thunder.Part of the field has entirely collapsed in on itself, and is filled with rocky debris, ice, and a frozen Aqua Regia inside.

Right Street Fighter! You're closer to the ground below you than they are! Dig into the ground and dodge their attack, then give Tim a good hard hit! Aqua Regia, while they're preoccupied with Tim, use Thunder on yourself to crack the ice and heal yourself! Street Fighter, once you've stunned Tim, Payback Dablob to ruin! Aqua Regia, follow up with a Bubblebeam and then a Thunder on any enemy who survives, or use Ice Beam to freeze all the pillars and ensure they remain standing! Street Fighter, clean up anybody who survives(Drain Punch for Tim, Payback for Gastly), and if nobody is up, take the chance to use Bulk Up.

Begin Round 3!

Rain continues to pour on the battlefield. The lava has completely cooled by now, sealed over by the cooling rock. Street Fighter's various holes have filled with water, and Chinchou contemplates how to break out of its icy prison.

Tim strikes first again, with another devastating Hammer Arm that strike Street Fighter for some major damage. The hard floor makes it too difficult for Street Fighter to escape before getting struck. Street Fighter nonetheless regains its composure in time to evade Dablob's Sludge Bomb, which explodes harmlessly on the hole. In the meantime Aqua Regia summons a powerful Thunder down onto itself, blowing the ice around it to bits. It regroups near the center of the field to face its opponents. Street Fighter comes up and strikes Tim again, who hangs on and prepares for more battle. The multiple holes Street Fighter created are starting to collapse in on themselves, and both Pokemon find themselves taking a dig into a puddle.

Tim responds first and uses Take Down. The rocky dinosaur gives its all in the attack, and Street Fighter can take no more abuse. It finally faints, but its comrades continue. Aqua Regia fires a furious Bubblebeam at Dablob, who barely hangs on. Dablob retaliates against it with a ghostly Shadow Ball. Aqua Regia looks around as both of its opponents remain standing, though barely.

As Aqua Regia assesses the situation, Tim unleashes a brutal Stone Edge on Aqua Regia. Dablob looks on, preparing it's own attack, but Aqua Regia downs it finally with a brutal Thunder. Dablob is easily overwhelmed and faints instantly.

At the end of the round, both trainers are down a Pokemon and must prepare themselves for an intense showdown. Rain continues pouring down on the arena as both sides grow angry at a lost comrade. The match seems at a stalemate.

End Round 3

Field Effects:
Stage has been damaged significantly by Earthquake and Thunder.Part of the field has entirely collapsed in on itself, and is filled with rocky debris. The holes Street Fighter dug have collapsed in on themselves creating another area of craggy, soaked surface.

What's with all these blobs Darkamber?

So yeah, Sky Raptor. You've got an easy KO counter over here, so you can make good use of it. Let's roll!

Quick Attack the hell out of that Cranidos first of all, to stop its shenanigans. This lets you prepare for your assault on Deblob. You should be able to KO Cranidos, since this attack does 3 damage flat with 100 acc and priority +1. Now that you've done the important cleaning up, focus on Deblob. Use Wing Attack to ruffle it up first, then follow up with Aerial Ace.

Aqua Regia, its time for your last stand. Thunder Deblob, and follow up with an Ice Beam and finish with another Thunder. If Deblob attempts to screw up either yours or Sky Raptor's attacks, use Confuse Ray to screw up its attempts to confuse, deflect you or your teammate.

It was a good run, Tim. Iron Head Sky Raptor, and may its beak crumple!

Deblob, bring that Chinchou down! Get behind a bend and Psycho Shock ~ Shadow Ball ~ Psycho Shock!

If it keels over on the first hit, replace Shadow Ball with Acid Armor and Psycho Shock Sky Raptor!

Tim: Iron Headx3 (Starly)

Deblob: Psycho Shock (Chinchou) ~ Shadow Ball (Chinchou)/Acid Armor ~ Psycho Shock (Chinchou)/Psycho Shock (Starly)

Both trainers recall their fainted starters and send out their next Pokemon. Destiny Warrior unleashes a Starly named Sky Raptor while Darkamber releases DEblob the Solosis. Not to be confused with DAblob the Gastly. No autographs please. Rain washes over the new combatants, and Starly can't help but feel a little nervous about its partner. A furious round ensues.

Sky Raptor immediately takes off and strikes the weakened Tim with a Quick Attack, fainting the stony dinsosaur. It put up a good fight, but its day is done. Aqua Regia launches an impressive Thunder that strikes Deblob hard, and is repayed in kindness by Psycho Shock. Deblobs' powerful mental waves become real and smash into Aqua Regia, whose body cannot withstand the abuse. It is down for the count.

Both remaining competitors look squarely at each other. This would be the final showdown. The storymy weather continues as they unleash their attacks. Sky Raptor strikes with a furious Wing Attack, knocking Deblob back slightly. Deblob takes advantage of the puddle where Street Fighter had collopsed the ground in with Dig to utilize Acid Armor. It melts into the water to shore up its Defense.

As Deblob comes out of the water it is struck by an intensely fast Aerial Ace from Sky Raptor, though its improved defense allows it to easily withstand the blow. Deblob sends out more brain waves that materialize and hit Sky Raptor for incredible damage. It situation doesn't look good for Sky Raptor now.

Rain continues to wash over the arena. Lava pools have long since cooled, and the Pokemon stare each other down for the final showdown.

Begin Round 5!

The final showdown is here, as Rain continues to pour down on the combatants. The field remains stagnant, parts of it still stagnant and broken as the last two Pokemon remain.

Sky Raptor begins the round by getting quite Worked Up, increasing both his offensive attributes at once. Deblob again finds a puddle to soak itself in and it gleams even more, its green casing looking especially thick now. Sky Raptor looks on with apprehension, as Deblob already had a significant defense boost already.

Sky Raptor continues working itself up into a frenzy, and glances over as Deblob begins to glow brightly. The minor scuffs it had recieved earlier in the battle begin to dissapear as its outer coating gains a brand new luster. Deblob looks somehow giddy as both Pokemon prepare their attacks.

Sky Raptor spreads its wings and delivers a glancing blow to Debelob, whose enhanced Defense greatly blunts the damage. Deblob delivers a powerful counterattack, animating its brain waves and striking Sky Raptor where it hurts. That critical hit left quite a mark. Sky Raptor begins to feel ill at ease, but awaits its orders, determined not to go down so easily.

The Rain begins to look like it will let up soon, but continues to pour down on the field.

Sounds good to me.

Psycho Shock ~ Acid Armor ~ Psycho Shock

We got this.

Unless something karma-crits.

Then we may or may not be totally fucked.

But hey, that's totally not going to happen.

Also, a bit back

Both remaining competitors look squarely at each other. This would be the final showdown. The storymy weather continues as they unleash their attacks. Sky Raptor strikes with a furious Wing Attack, knocking Deblob back slightly. Deblob takes advantage of the puddle where Street Fighter had collopsed the ground in with Dig to utilize Acid Armor. It melts into the water to shore up its Defense.
Doesn't Acid Armor dodge attacks on the same action as the Acid Armor?

Acid Armor: The Pokemon melts into a body of water, increasing its defense two (2) stages and dodging physical attacks the action it is used. While all Pokemon with Acid Armor can melt into water (even Slugma and Magcargo), any substance similar to their original body structure can also be used.

Doesn't Acid Armor dodge attacks on the same action as the Acid Armor?
Speed still takes precedence, so Acid Armor could dodge the attack of a slower Pokemon, or perhaps a priority action on the opponent's next action, but just using Acid Armor doesn't automatically evade an attack. Reffing will be up shortly.

Field Effects:
Stage has been damaged significantly by Earthquake and Thunder. Part of the field has entirely collapsed in on itself, and is filled with rocky debris. The holes Street Fighter dug have collapsed in on themselves creating another area of craggy, soaked surface.

Rain will last for 1 more Round.

Begin Round 6!

The Rain looks like it is letting up up a little, but a fierce storm brews between the two remaining compatants of this match. Sky Raptor and Deblob prepare for more combat.

Sky Raptor begins a flurry of attacks, beginning with a swift Aerial Ace on Deblob. Deblob's reinforced defense blunts the hit as it prepares another Psycho Shock. Its brainwaves again take physical form and smash into the hapless Sky Raptor.

Undaunted, Sky Raptor strikes next with a Wing Attack again the attack is blunted, but Sky Raptor is determined to battle to the end. Deblob goes back into the water, melting in again and refreshes its Defense a third time, looking more difficult to crack than ever, its bubble gleaming.

Sky Raptor finishes its assault with a Pluck, which seems to barely affect Deblob at this point. Deblob continues its mental assault, materializing more Brain Waves to assault Sky Raptor. Sky Raptor is looking weak after these continued assaults, but it fights on.

The Rain on the field finally lets up and the skies clear. The pools where the lava cooled start showing life again, as the backdraft begins clearing out the cooled rock.

End Round 6

Field Effects:
Stage has been damaged significantly by Earthquake and Thunder. Part of the field has entirely collapsed in on itself, and is filled with rocky debris. The holes Street Fighter dug have collapsed in on themselves creating another area of craggy, soaked surface.

The skies are finally clear. Lava is slowing starting to bubble up again from the pools.

Begin Round 7!

The arena continues to warm with the Rain gone, and the lava is slowly bubbling back to the surface. The combatants look at each other and prepare their next moves, knowing the match between them is almost over.

Sky Raptor begins not with an attack this time, but by resting its wings. They glow white with energy that infuses Sky Raptor's body and mends his wounds. Sky Raptor looks much fresher than before. Good news, as Deblob continues its mental assault. It fires more brainwaves, but it is tired from the last round. Still it presses on, striking Sky Raptor again.

Sky Raptor recovers from the assault and begins working itself up again, increasing its offensive prowess in preparation for its next strike. Deblob strains to attack with its materialized brain waves for a third time, and delivers another powerful blow. Sky Raptor hangs on with the help of its earlier vitality and continues.

Weakened and tired Sky Raptor again works up its energy to a frenzies pace, preparing for the next round, but for its valiant effort it is not to be. Deblob strains one last time to deliver a Psycho Shock, and sucessfully finishes its opponent. Unfortunately the strain of repeatedly stressing its body with the same attack causes it to collapse from a lack of energy.

End Round 7

The match is a DRAW.

Huh? How did I spend 40 energy? Isn't it 5+7+9=21 energy? Even if it extends through rounds, that's only 27 energy, right?

Mm, whatever, gg Destiny Warrior! I learned a lot about Double battles from this! (Like beating type-disadvantages by double teaming on the offending pokemon)

GJ reffing Deck Knight, I laughed at your snarks. Maybe I'll imitate you.
