Gholdengo can utilize its natural bulk, great typing, and immunity to status moves for a more defensive role on balance and stall teams. It can switch into several key offensive threats such as Iron Valiant, Scizor and Breloom and completely shut down multiple defensive Pokemon such as Amoonguss and Corviknight. With Good as Gold, Gholdengo can act as a reliable means of spinblocking and denying Defog. Recover provides Gholdengo with a means of improving its longevity, letting it switch into the aforementioned threats multiple times throughout a match. Thunder Wave allows Gholdengo to cripple threats it can lure in, like Iron Moth and Roaring Moon. Gholdengo can capitalize on the status it spreads with Hex, letting it deal high damage once its targets have been paralyzed. Gholdengo can take advantage of switches it forces by setting up Nasty Plot, letting it exert a high offensive threat level, and enabling it to win potential stalemates against bulkier Pokemon such as Corviknight and Dondozo. Alternatively, Make It Rain can be used to immediately KO Garganacl and Iron Valiant. Tera Flying improves Gholdengo's matchups against Ground-types like Great Tusk and Iron Treads. This completely flips the matchup in Gholdengo's favor, as it can use them as a point of entry to set up Nasty Plot. Tera Fairy, on the other hand, grants Gholdengo a resistance to Dark-type attacks, allowing it to survive Crunch from Roaring Moon and paralyze it with Thunder Wave. Gholdengo's item choice is quite flexible and largely depends on its team structure. Leftovers offers passive recovery, which is quite valuable to preserve Recover PP. Covert Cloak grants Gholdengo an immunity to the secondary effects of various moves, allowing it to counter Garganacl by nullifying the chip damage from Salt Cure. It is also useful to allow Gholdengo to switch into a wider pool of moves, like Hatterene's Nuzzle, with far less risk. Heavy-Duty Boots nullifies entry hazard damage, allowing Gholdengo to switch in and out with little issue. A physically defensive EV spread allows Gholdengo to more reliably check Pokemon such as Garganacl, Corviknight, and Scizor.

Defensive Gholdengo fits on a variety of teams, but it particularly shines on balance and stall teams. Its ability to nullify most forms of hazard control is most useful to entry hazard setters such as Garchomp, Ting-Lu, and Great Tusk. These Pokemon also appreciate Gholdengo's ability to check Hatterene, which can bounce back hazards with Magic Bounce. If Gholdengo is utilizing Covert Cloak, it will be a great teammate to Pokemon like Dodonzo, Toxapex, and Corviknight, which struggle against Garganacl due to Salt Cure. Gholdengo can pivot into many key status moves such as Will-O-Wisp and is therefore a great ally to Pokemon that are common targets of them, such as Dragonite, Great Tusk, and Meowscarada. When not running Tera Flying, Ground-types like Great Tusk, Ting-Lu, and Clodsire can use Gholdengo as an entry point to either deal high damage to it with Earthquake or set up entry hazards. Corviknight is thus a great partner, as it can switch into them with ease and clear entry hazards they may set up with Defog. Hatterene is another good teammate, since it can completely shut down attempts to set up entry hazards with Magic Bounce. Gholdengo is also quite vulnerable to a few other offensive threats, such as Volcarona, Cinderace, and Kingambit, so bulky Water-types like Dondozo and Toxpaex can switch into these Pokemon and prevent setup via Unaware and Haze, respectively, which Gholdengo will greatly appreciate. Garchomp and Great Tusk can switch into Cinderace and Kingambit and threaten them out with Earthquake, and they can also benefit from Gholdengo's Thunder Wave support, allowing them to more reliably check Cinderace and Iron Moth.

Gholdengo's can utilize its good natural bulk, great typing, and immunity to status moves for a more defensive role on balance and stall teams. It can switch into several key offensive threats such as Iron Valiant Espathra and Breloom thanks to its defensive typing and completely shuts down multiple defensive Pokemon such as Amoonguss and Corviknight. with its ability, This is due to its ability, Good as Gold., Furthermore, it can which can further allows it to act as a reliable means of preventing entry hazard removal thanks to its ability to block such as Defog, and Rapid Spin, and Mortal Spin. Glimmora is a hazard lead, there's no reason to allow it to get hazards up in exchange for your own and then make a prediction on Gholdengo on the turn it "might" click Spin. Gholdengo most likely won't be in a position against Glimmora where it has Rocks + 1 layer of spikes up. Gholdengo maintains good longevity with Recover, letting it switch into the aforementioned threats multiple times throughout a match. Talk here about Hex and Thunder Wave and what they actually do, (Skeledirge and things potentially switching in like Iron Moth. Just talk about anything it can cripple with Twave for late game clean up as well.) Gholdengo can take advantage of switches it forces by setting up Nasty Plot, letting it exert a high offensive threat level and enabling it to win potential stalemates against bulkier Pokemon such as Corviknight and Amoonguss Garganacl. Gholdengo's base typing is already quite amazing, but it can utilize Terastallization to grant it some flexibility in otherwise poor matchups. Then talk here about the alternative of Make It Rain over Nasty Plot and what that hits (i.e Garganacl) Tera Flying gives Gholdengo a key immunity to Ground-type attacks. Against Ground-types such as Great Tusks and Iron Treads, this completely flips the match-up in Gholdengo's favor, as it can use them as a point of entry to setup Nasty Plot. Tera Fairy, on the other hand, grants Gholdengo a resistance to Dark-type attacks, allowing it to survive Crunch from Chien-Pao, and Roaring Moon and Paralyze them with Thunder Wave. KO back with Make It Rain. Gholdengo's item choice is quite flexible and largely depends on its team's needs structure. Defensive Gholdengo can fit on a variety of teams, but it will particularly shine on balance and stall teams. Gholdengo's defensive typing, while great, does leave it vulnerable to several key Pokemon which should be taken account of when teambuilding. Fluff. This isn't really needed in the set analysis section, and better fits the teammates paragraph. Gholdengo can take advantage of switches it forces by setting up Nasty Plot, letting it exert a high offensive threat level and enabling it to win potential stalemates against bulkier Pokemon such as Corviknight and Amoonguss. Alternatively, Make It Rain can be used to immediately KO Pokemon such as Garganacl and Iron Valiant. Gholdengo's base typing is already quite amazing, but it can utilize Terastallization to grant it some flexibility in otherwise poor matchups Fluff. You already mentioned about Gholdengo's typing being great in the first sentence. Tera Flying gives Gholdengo a key immunity to Ground-type attacks. Against improves Gholdengo's matchups against Ground-types such as Great Tusk and Iron Treads, and this completely flips the match-up in Gholdengo's favor, as it can use them as a point of entry to setup Nasty Plot. Heavy-Duty Boots nullifies entry hazards damage, allowing Gholdengo pivot in and out of the field with little issue. It is quite useful on teams with limited hazard control. This sentence is better explained in the teammates section.

Defensive Gholdengo can fit on a variety of teams, but it will particularly shine on balance and stall teams. Its ability to nullify most forms of hazard control is most useful to hazard setters such as Garchomp, Ting-Lu, and Great Tusk. Fluff When not running Tera Flying, Ground-types such as Great Tusk, Ting-Lu, and Clodsire can use Gholdengo it as an entry point to either deal high damage to it with Earthquake or set up entry hazards Generalizing Gholdengo as losing to Ground-types can be a bit confusing, since you explained earlier how Tera Flying flips the matchup against them in Gholdengo's favor. Corviknight is thus a great partner, as it can switch into the aforementioned Ground-types with ease and clear any entry hazards they may set up with Defog. Hatterene is another good teammates, as it can completely shut down their attempt to setup entry hazards with Magic Bounce. Gholdengo is also quite vulnerable to a few other offensive threats, such as Chien-Pao, Cinderace, and Kingambit. Bulky , so bulky Water-types such as Dondozo and Toxpaex can switch into these Pokemon and prevent setup via Unaware and Haze, respectively, which Gholdengo will greatly appreciate. Garchomp and Great Tusks, though prone to getting worn down, can switch into Cinderace and Kingambit and threaten them out with Earthquake You can mention here your earlier mention on how Gholdengo's Thunder Wave can benefit them. Iron Valiant must be wary of Icicle Crash, but it can switch into Chien Pao's Crunch and KO it back with either Aura Sphere or Moonblast, although it does not appreciate Icicle Crash You can also mention Dondozo here, since it's the most consistent check against Chien-Pao.

Against improves Gholdengo's matchups against Ground-types such as Great Tusk and Iron Treads, and this completely flips the match-up in Gholdengo's favor, as it can use them as a point of entry to setup Nasty Plot. Tera Fairy, on the other hand, grants Gholdengo a resistance to Dark-type attacks, allowing it to survive Crunch from Chien-Pao and Roaring Moon and Paralyze them with Thunder Wave. Gholdengo's item choice is quite flexible and largely depends on its team structure. Leftovers offers passive recovery, which is quite valuable to preserve Recover PP. Covert Cloak grants Gholdengo an immunity to the secondary effects of various moves, allowing it to further counter Garganacl by nullifying the chip damage from Salt Cure. It is also useful to allow Gholdengo to switch into a wider pool of moves, such as Hatterene's Nuzzle, with far less risk.

These Pokemon also appreciate Gholdengo's ability to check Hatterene, which can counter bounceback the hazards with Magic Bounce. If Gholdengo is utilizing Covert Cloak, it will be a great ally to Pokemon such as Dodonzo, Toxapex, and Corviknight, which struggle against Garganacl due to Salt Cure. Gholdengo can pivot into many key status moves and therefore is a great ally to Pokemon that are common targets of them, such as Dragonite, Great Tusk and Chien-Pao. Gholdengo is vulnerable to several key Pokemon which should be taken account of when teambuilding.

Gholdengo can utilize its natural bulk, great typing, and immunity to status moves for a more defensive role on balance and stall teams. It can switch into several key offensive threats such as Iron Valiant, Espathra, and Breloom and completely shut down multiple defensive Pokemon such as Amoonguss and Corviknight. With Good as Gold, Gholdengo can further allow it to act as a reliable means of spinblocking and denying Defog. Gholdengo maintains good longevity with Recover, letting it switch into the aforementioned threats multiple times throughout a match. Thunder Wave allows Gholdengo to cripple and provide its team speed control against threats it can lure in, such as Iron Moth and Roaring Moon. Also worth mentioning that it boosts the power of Hex, which is valuable even against foes that don't mind the speed drop. Gholdengo can take advantage of switches it forces by setting up Nasty Plot, letting it exert a high offensive threat level and enabling it to win potential stalemates against bulkier Pokemon such as Corviknight and Dondozo. Alternatively, Make It Rain can be used to immediately KO Garganacl and Iron Valiant. Tera Flying improves Gholdengo's matchups against Ground-types such as Great Tusk and Iron Treads, and this completely flips the match-up in Gholdengo's favor, as it can use them as a point of entry to setup Nasty Plot.
