[SET COMMENTS]
- With Dragon Dance, Rayquaza serves as a threatening late-game sweeper with the ability to boost its already sky-high Attack and fix its issue with Speed.
- Heavy-Duty Boots is generally the preferred item thanks to nullifying Rayquaza's otherwise bad weakness to Stealth Rock, but Life Orb enables Rayquaza to perform ridiculous feats like guaranteeing an OHKO on Zacian-C after a single boost.
- Tera Flying further strengthens Rayquaza's already spammable Dragon Ascent, letting Life Orb Rayquaza crush bulky teams. At +1, Life Orb Tera Flying Dragon Ascent has good odds to 2HKO even the most physically defensive Corviknight.
- Tera Fire gives Rayquaza a valuable resistance to Fairy, letting it set up on Zacian-C, Arceus-Fairy, and Flutter Mane, while also letting it become immune to Will-O-Wisp from Groudon and Skeledirge.
- Extreme Speed allows Rayquaza to revenge kill weakened foes in a pinch, most notably Scale Shot Koraidon, Miraidon, and Extreme Killer Arceus.
- Substitute allows Rayquaza to block status-inducing moves like Will-O-Wisp from Skeledirge and Toxic from Clodsire, Toxapex, and Gliscor. It is generally not worth using with Life Orb because the combination cuts too much into Rayquaza's already awful longevity.
- Draco Meteor allows Rayquaza to beat Skeledirge and the rare Dondozo solo without Terastallizing. However, it has little practical use outside of this.
- A Naive nature should only ever be run when Rayquaza runs Draco Meteor. Jolly is the preferred nature in all other scenarios.
- Dragon Dance Rayquaza is best used on hyper offense teams that love its ability to punch big holes into bulky teams for its teammates to exploit late-game. Rayquaza is not much of a defensive presence, but it can be used to check dangerous Ground-types like Dragon Dance Arceus-Ground without sacrificing offensive output.
- Zacian-C forces out or baits Terastallization from Fairy- and Dragon-types that threaten Rayquaza, like Koraidon, Miraidon, and Arceus-Fairy, while being a ferocious offensive threat in its own right. Thus, it is an invaluable partner for Rayquaza.
- As Dragon Dance Rayquaza fits mainly on hyper offense teams, it should be paired with hyper offense leads like Glimmora and Meowscarada.
- Physical attackers that appreciate Rayquaza's ability to punch great holes into their checks are good partners for it, as they are made more dangerous late-game with their checks weakened. These include Extreme Killer Arceus, Scale Shot Koraidon, and Dragon Dance Arceus-Ground.
