Intro
Hello, it has been a while since my last RMT and with the release of Home I would like to share this fun offense I built, bringing it to the 1900s and featuring an underrated mon, Thundurus T. With everyone spamming eleki + double grounds or potentially zapdos and torn, Thundurus becomes incredibly valuable as it is a ground immunity which also serves as your electric immunity, just like lando. This mon is arguably more threatening than lando because of better offensive stats and being able to threaten many cores. Enjoy the team before these mons inevitably get banned.

The Team
905.png

Security! @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Cute Charm
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Moonblast
- Earth Power
- Mystical Fire
- Healing Wish

Enamorus, in my opinion, has insane potential and set diversity. This team in particular was inspired by how Latias in oldgens ran scarf hwish, and thus, I decided to build around hwish. Even if the opponent is running 6 Enamorus counters this still has value through hwish. When using the team, I usually play aggressively at the start to punch holes, since I know that any lost HP or status can be cured lategame with hwish. Hwish has insane synergy with the teammates, who are all mostly bulky-ish Pokemon who lack healing so can be worn down.

AAA Powerline @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Volt Absorb
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Thunderbolt
- Focus Blast
- Tera Blast

Thundurus-T is the star of the show, and this alongside scarf Enamorus is what I built around. In 1 slot, Thundy is your tusk/lando check, your breaker, your torn/zap check, and cleaner. Most importantly, with tera, it destroys eleki teams. This mon has incredible MU against teams that rely on eleki since these teams can be rather slow outside of eleki, meaning that many times this mon outspeeds their whole team (aside from eleki, who you sit on). I usually lead this mon to see how my opponent reacts to it and to do early game breaking, then healing wish it back up to clean endgame. Vs Glowking, I usually setup anyways since this beats Glowking 1v1 and you can heal it up later.

Blue Eyes @ Choice Band
Ability: Sword of Ruin
Tera Type: Dark
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Crunch
- Icicle Crash
- Sacred Sword
- Ice Shard

Chien-Pao makes a return, and is still unwallable. This mon preys on mons that tend to switch into Thundy, such as glowking or amoonguss. Also importantly it lures magearna and hits it with a strong sacred sword, which puts it in range of +2 tbolt later on. Alternatively, mons that switch into Chien, such as corv, azu, mage, or general bulky waters are punished by Thundy.

Cc @ Leftovers
Ability: Protosynthesis
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 252 HP / 204 Def / 52 Spe
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Ice Spinner
- Rapid Spin

Tusk is a general physdef wall and removal for Chien. I usually use this mon to scout for their lando set, since if it's defensive lando it's less likely to have edge for thundy.

Peroxide @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Water Absorb
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpA
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Steam Eruption
- Flamethrower
- Sludge Bomb
- Substitute

Volcanion always has the same lifecycle each gen, starting off not really used but then picking up in popularity later down the line. Anyways, this mon is still amazing since nothing switches into steam eruption. Burn the glowking so that your thundy or zama can sweep easier. Also this mon is an insane abuser of hwish since it always takes a few hits and usually trades, but with hwish you can turn these 1 for 1s into 2 for 1s. Sub is good against burned mons who can't break sub, such as clod. This mon also softchecks urshifu.

Fragile @ Rusted Shield
Ability: Dauntless Shield
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 24 Atk / 252 Def / 232 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Iron Defense
- Body Press
- Behemoth Bash
- Crunch

This mon is pretty broken. I think rest is a better set overall but it's not needed on this team because of hwish. This mon is more of a defensive pivot on this team rather than a sweeper, since I found that the team got 6-0d by dnite and kingambit before having this mon. Of course, it can also sweep. When this inevitably gets banned, I'll probably replace it with something like ID corv to sorta fill its role.

wouldn't contrary be better for situational moonblast drops

It's better period for it activates on any drop in stats.
contrary is extremely situational, i think the only realistic scenario is switching into iron valiant moonblast since other moves (crunch, sball etc) you dont care about as much. Val is usually booster speed or scarf and moonblast 2hkos anyways so it doesnt matter. Meanwhile cute charm is a 30% chance (15% effectively coz of the gender thing) on contact + all opposing genies are male. Tbh you might be right tho but the ability doesn't really matter.

Cool team! Love the idea, and I agree about :enamorus:'s potential versatility and set diversity.

What's your plan for this team when/if :chien-pao: is banned? Maybe :choice band: :baxcalibur: can attempt to fill its shoes?

already been considering bax. I'm probably gonna make a revamped ver. of this team once bans happen, like replacing zama as well
