[OVERVIEW]
Despite being seemingly outclassed as an entry hazard removal option by common Pokemon such as Eldegoss and Sandslash, Cyrogonal's unique set of qualities give it a niche on teams. Freeze-Dry + Knock Off is a great combination for denting the tier's spinblockers, such as Jellicent and Silvally-Ghost, as well as other switch-ins, like Gigalith and Aggron. This allows it to remove entry hazards more reliably against teams that rely on Jellicent as their spinblocker, with Knock Off being useful in a variety of matchups. Its high Speed and solid Special Attack also lets it function as a rare offensive entry hazard removal, threatening Knock Offs and Freeze-Drys on threats like Charizard and Galarian Articuno. Its great special bulk lets it soft check special attackers that cannot hit it super-effectively, such as Ribombee and Frosmoth. However, Cyrogonal is a physically frail Ice-type heavily reliant on Heavy-Duty Boots, leaving it with little defensive utility beyond its good matchups, and being forced out by faster threats such as Scyther, Archeops, and Cinccino. Some switch-ins like Audino and Iron Barbs Togedemaru are only mildly annoyed by Knock Off and Freeze-Dry and can force out Cyrogonal with Knock Off and Iron Head, respectively. Finally, while it can annoy Ghost-types with Knock Off and Freeze-Dry, some Ghost-types like Cofagrigus and Doublade can still wall Cyrogonal, leaving it unable to remove entry hazards versus them.

evs: 40 HP / 252 SpA / 212 Spe
[SET COMMENTS]
Recover gives Cyrogonal consistent recovery, letting it continuously switch in on Pokemon like Jellicent and Eldegoss. The given EV spread ensures that Cyrogonal will always outspeed Charizard while maximizing Freeze-Dry's power, with the rest dumped into HP for a slight bulk increase. Cyrogonal can often be found on hazards stacking teams with partners such as Ferroseed and Regirock, who enjoy entry hazards on the opposing side, but not on their side. Charizard forms a solid offensive core with Cyrogonal, as Charizard enjoys Gigalith and Jellicent crippled; in return, Charizard threatens Steel-types like Togedemaru for Cyrogonal. Due to Cyrogonal's weaknesses to common Fire-, Fighting-, and Rock-type mons, partners that can tank these hits for Cyrogonal, such as Wishiwashi, Aromatisse, and Sandaconda, are heavily appreciated.
