Pet Mod Clean Slate Micro 2

:ss/claydol:

Name of the Pokemon: Claydol
Role(s): Defensive Pivot, Hazards (Stealth Rock), Hazard Removal (Rapid Spin), Trick Room setter, Wincon (Calm Mind)
Type: Electric / Dragon
Abilities: Force Field | Shadow Shield (HA)
Force Field - Raises SpD by 1 stage upon switching in.

Stat Distribution: 80 / 70 / 100 / 90 / 80 / 55 (485 BST)
Movepool Additions: Volt Switch, Discharge, Core Enforcer,
Movepool Removals: Trick
Justification: Support pokemon with a bunch of special bulk and some useful resistances. Rapid Spin / Stealth Rock / Volt Switch / Core Enforcer seems reliable, if a bit passive.

:ss/zapdos:

Name of the Pokemon: Zapdos
Role(s): Setup Sweeper (Agility + Bolt Beak), Defensive Pivot, Hazard Removal (Rapid Spin, Defog),
Type: Electric / Flying
Abilities: Beast Boost | Technician (HA)
Stat Distribution: 85 / 90 / 100 / 85 / 85 / 45 (480 BST)
Movepool Additions: Bolt Beak, Flame Charge
Movepool Removals: Defog, Volt Switch, U-turn
Justification: Zapdos attempts to go for late game sweeps using Agility + Bolt Beak. It has solid bulk to set up with, and decent coverage in Brave Bird. However, it has a gap in coverage vs. other Electric types, and any Ground type that can handle Brave Bird. It also has potential as a defensive pivot due to its bulk and typing.

Edit: I decided to remove its support moves to dissuade it from running defensive sets. Increasing the speed as was suggested would, in my opinion, turn it into an All-Out-Attacker. The speed was specifically chosen to always underspeed 0 investment Solrock, making it an easy wall to any non-Agility set. If it outsped Solrock naturally it would just 2HKO it with any kind of boosting item.

:ss/tyrantrum:
Name of the Pokemon: Tyrantrum
Role(s): Setup Sweeper (Dragon Dance)
Type: Dragon / Poison
Abilities: Hyper Cutter / Shed Skin
Stat Distribution: 80 / 95 / 100 / 60 / 100 / 80
Movepool Additions: Poison Jab
Movepool Removals: Crunch
Justification: i made this because i really do not like the pyro ball and blue flare mons, they seem really scary. poison typing here because that makes it not weak to komala, and adds a weakness to Solgaleo's Psychic.

and since im doing tyrantrum, why not the other one too?
:ss/aurorus:
Name of the Pokemon: Aurorus
Role(s): Defensive Pivot (Parting Shot), Screen Setter (Aurora Veil), Hazard Setter (Stealth Rock), Weather Setter (Hail)
Type: Fairy / Ice
Abilities: Snow Warning
Stat Distribution: 80 / 65 / 115 / 85 / 105 / 50
Movepool Additions: Recover, Parting Shot, Moonblast
Movepool Removals: none
Justification: wip

I really tried to make the slate last a week off of a Tuesday???? lol

Pokemon: Carracosta
Role: Setup Sweeper (Shell Smash), Hazards, Physical Wall
Type:

Abilities: Shell Armor / Oblivious | Dry Skin
Stat Distribution: 74 / 108 / 114 / 83 / 65 / 46 (490 BST)
Movepool Additions: Dark Pulse, Spikes, Obstruct
Movepool Removals: Iron Head, Stone Edge, Rock Slide, Stealth Rock, Rock Blast, Focus Blast, Earth Power, Aqua Jet
Justification: Shell Smash is a pretty unexplored move in Clean Slate, for pretty good reason. It's very, very strong. With Carracosta I tried to make it both balanced and appealing, with a Speed tier that beats base 80+1 and below when at +2, while being safely revenged by Scarf Solgaleo with Aura Sphere. Special and Physical sets have different coverage spreads. You could also run a fat spikes set with obstruct to force switches ig

Pokemon: Tangela (eviolite compatible)
Role: Defensive Pivot, Physical Wall
Type:

Abilities: Sticky Hold / Chlorophyll | Regenerator
Stat Distribution: 65 / 55 / 115 / 100 / 40 / 55 (430 BST)
Movepool Additions: Dragon Pulse, Draco Meteor, Weather Ball, Flamethrower
Movepool Removals: None
Justification: While Tangela's Grass/Dragon typing isn't super good against the current 6, it is a very flexible defensive typing that I'm sure will gain more winning MUs as time goes on. Currently, its a nice check to Zangoose, Physical Solgaleo, and Solrock. Chloro sets exists for self-setting or a potential Sun archetype in the future.

I'll review subs tomorrow and then close after that review period.

Name of the Pokemon: Klefki
Role(s): Set-up Sweeper, Hazard Setter (Spikes), Hazard Removal (Defog),

Type:

Abilities: Prankster | Intimidate
Stat Distribution: 70 / 87 / 91 / 77 / 80 / 97 (501 BST)
Movepool Additions: Bulk Up, Drain Punch, Thousand Waves, Life Dew
Movepool Removals: Calm Mind, Light Screen, Reflect
Justification: It's Key-Jingling, Spikes-Setting, Bulk-Upping, Intimidating, De-Fogging Klefki. Klefki has been dialed back in terms of pure Prankster support, and has now utilized these pranking abilities to create self-support by using Bulk Up along with other Klefki classics such as Thunder Wave, Switcheroo, and Spikes allow it to pick and choose who comes in and who goes out. For those who just want raw damage, Intimidate allows Klefki to get more theoretical bulk, allowing it to safely Bulk Up
With access to Prankster Spikes, Twave, Switcheroo, etc I can't imagine Klefki would ever bother with a Bulk Up sweeping set. A stronger setup move would probably make it more likely to function as a setup sweeper rather than a disruptor (or removing additional utility)

:ss/tauros:

Name of the Pokemon: Tauros
Role(s): Set-Up Sweeper, Physical Wallbreaker
Type: Ground
Abilities: Pressure | Moxie | Defiant
Stat Distribution: 67/102/80/60/80/107 (496 BST)
Movepool Additions: Bulk Up
Movepool Removals: Close Combat
Justification: The Gen 1 legend himself Tauros. Becoming the fastest mon in the meta, Tauros can set up using Bulk Up and charge through the opponent's team. Its current movepool is sufficient to breaking through the likes of Aegislash and Komala without breaking a sweat, while still having a counter in the form of Solrock, who can sit on Tauros with Close Combat missing, and threaten a DEVASTATING body press as even +1 defense on Tauros gets 2HKOd by BPress. With its high speed it doesn't need too much bulk to set up, but can instead force a swap on Aegislash with Earthquake, and Bulk Up instead, increasing its physical bulk and can use its blazing speed at +1 to deal serious damage. Beware when swapping in your Solgaleo though, because Defiant can give Tauros the boost it needs without the need to use Bulk Up, and instantly drill a hole through the opponents team.
Tauros feels a bit frail relative to its power output. Because I know that you want to keep Tauros 2HKO'd by Solrock's Body Press, I'd recommend adding a bit more Special Defense. Or I guess you could make it even faster to ensure that it stays near-top speed later into the mod.

:qwilfish:
Name of the Pokemon: Qwilfish
Role(s): Defensive pivot, Spikes setter, Choice Scarf user
Type: Dark/Poison
Abilities: Water Bubble / Intimidate / Rough Skin
Stat Distribution: 96 / 55 / 85 / 85 / 96 / 85 [510]
Movepool Additions: Knock Off, Flip Turn, Dark Pulse
Movepool Removals: none
Justification: Water Bubble beats Specs Chandelure locked into Blue Flare, forcing it to switch as Flip Turn OHKOs after Stealth Rock. Scorching Sands doesn't make it perfect, but you do outspeed it anyways. Scarf sets with Flip might be kinda fun, and may find value in Intimidate.

:celesteela:
Name of the Pokemon: Celesteela
Role(s): special sweeper, status absorber/knock absorber
Type: Steel/Flying
Abilities: Flare Boost
Stat Distribution: 82 / 86 / 88 / 92 / 86 / 61 [495]
Movepool Additions: none
Movepool Removals: none
Justification: Scared out by the Fires but does pretty well once those are gone. The defensive utility of this mon is also pretty great.
Qwilfish: Water Bubble is kind of terrifying with those offenses tbh. Reducing Special Attack by 10-15 would make it feel less overly potent for a defensive Pokemon
Celesteela: Flare Boost with that speed leaves it as more of (special) Guts Wallbreaker. Celesteela does have Meteor Beam, so maybe supplying an alternate ability for sets with that could be cool. Could be something like Weak Armor so it defensively suffers with either ability.

:ss/metang:
Name of the Pokemon: Metang (Not Eviolite compatible)
Role(s): Set-Up Sweeper
Type: Steel
Abilities: Download / Motor Drive / Clear Body
Stat Distribution: 75 / 55 / 90 / 100 / 80 / 80 (480)
Movepool Additions: Techno Blast, Nasty Plot
Movepool Removals: Meteor Beam, Shadow Ball
Justification: A special sweeper that chooses its own checks by using Techno Blast. Running Drives instead of actual items is worth it, since it has meh coverage options otherwise. This also means Metang will likely be running NP+Agility, as there's not much else worth running. Techno Blast offers Fire coverage to hit opposing Steel-types, Water coverage to hit Fire-types, Electric coverage to hit Water-types, 3 out of 4 types that resist its Steel STAB. There's also Ice, but that makes it walled by Steels, so probably not good.
(Credit to Spook for letting me use his scrapped idea)
Might be worth axing Download as it tends to be a pretty swingy high-reward ability, especially given this is not a mixed attacker. Maybe something like Berserk could replace it if you still want the conditional SpA boost.

:ss/zapdos:

Name of the Pokemon: Zapdos
Role(s): Setup Sweeper (Agility + Bolt Beak), Defensive Pivot, Hazard Removal (Rapid Spin, Defog),
Type: Electric / Flying
Abilities: Beast Boost | Technician (HA)
Stat Distribution: 85 / 90 / 100 / 85 / 85 / 45 (490 BST)
Movepool Additions: Bolt Beak, Rapid Spin,
Justification: Zapdos attempts to go for late game sweeps using Agility + Bolt Beak. It has solid bulk to set up with, and decent coverage in Brave Bird. However, it has a gap in coverage vs. other Electric types, and any Ground type that can handle Brave Bird. It also has potential as a defensive pivot due to its bulk and typing.
I have to agree with others on the Discord that Zapdos feels like it wouldn't ever opt for agility given it could just run a defensive set that still blasts switch-ins with Bolt Beak. Tweaking the stats around (slightly more speed, less bulk) could probably resolve this.

That's all for now. Subs will close tomorrow, get any WIPs done

:ss/phione:
Phione
Roles
: Defensive Pivot
Type:

Abilities: Shield Dust / Sticky Hold
Stats: 100 / 80 / 80 / 80 / 80 / 70 (BST: 480)
New Moves: Flip Turn, Recover, Thunder Wave
Removed Moves:
Justification: Water is currently in a very good spot considering both wallbreakers are currently fire-type pokemon.

:Bw/Eelektross:
Name: Eelektross
Role: Defensive Pivot
Type:
1647799034811.png

Abilities: Levitate / Static
Stats: 92/81/108/85/94/54
Movepool Changes: +Defog
Justification: Defensive pivot with no weakness make it a really reliable option for teams who want one. It’s amazing coverage and decent offenses keep it from being passive, while access to hazard removal and good bulk keep it useful defensively. Scald was added to also help it annoying switch ins and to give it special coverage against grounds and solrock. Against our current meta it doesn’t really have any notable match ups, which makes sense considering this is supposed to be a blanket wall. The only thing worth mentioning is that is faster than aegislash and komala, so slow pivoting off them won’t work. If u want to be annoying with static u also have that option.

:ss/Rowlet:
Name: Rowlet (not evio compatible)
Role: Set-Up-Sweeper
Type:
1647799482253.png
1647799491238.png

Abilities: Chlorophyll
Stats: 70/75/70/130/70/55
Movepool Changes: +Sunny Day +Aeroblast +Weather Ball
Justification: A self setting sun sweeper because I wanna be unique and not give it a traditional set up move. Before setting up, Rowlet is a weak little owl, but once setting up Rowlet becomes an absolute chad. Wether being able to fire off powerful solar beams, aeroblasts and weather balls, or healing off massive amounts of health with synthesis, Rowlet is officially a cool owl. However, Rowlet struggles from a limited sweep as sun is only 5 turns, a rocks weakens without boots which limits its power output, and even after chlorophyll it is still outspeed by faster scarfers like solgaleo.

:Eelektross: Defensively, it is maxed the the defense the attack hits

:zangoose: 252+ Atk Zangoose Facade (140 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Eelektross: 157-186 (40.4 - 47.9%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

New Type:

Abilities:
Same
Stats: 95/80/105/40/70/100 Bst: 490 (no changes)
Move pool Changes: +Dragon tail, +Knock off
Justifacation: A defensive pivot that is capable of checking multiple threats in the tier with its great defensive typing and abilities. Thick Fat helps it check fire types in the tier while also making it neutral to ice type attacks. Sap sipper helps it take advantage of its role as a grass type check/counter. miltank has access to nice movepool of status moves like stealth rock, heal bell, milk drink, etc.

Closing votes tomorrow- I'd like more than 3 sets tho. Here's mine:

Defensive Pivot: Spook, Endrism, Scoopapa
Set Up Sweeper: anaconja, earl , Voolpool

Earl gave me the go ahead to close votes:

Earl won the Setup Sweeper category with his Carracosta.

Ema Skye won the Defensive Pivot category with his Qwilfish.
:qwilfish:
Name of the Pokemon: Qwilfish
Role(s): Defensive pivot, Spikes setter, Choice Scarf user
Type: Dark/Poison
Abilities: Water Bubble / Intimidate / Rough Skin
Stat Distribution: 96 / 55 / 85 / 70 / 96 / 85 [495]
Movepool Additions: Knock Off, Flip Turn, Dark Pulse
Movepool Removals: none
Justification: Water Bubble beats Specs Chandelure locked into Blue Flare, forcing it to switch as Flip Turn OHKOs after Stealth Rock. Scorching Sands doesn't make it perfect, but you do outspeed it anyways. Scarf sets with Flip might be kinda fun, and may find value in Intimidate.

:ss/rillaboom:
Name of the Pokemon: Rillaboom
Role(s): Speed Control, Mixed Wallbreaker, Special Wallbreaker, Physical Wallbreaker
Type: Grass / Normal
Abilities: Overgrow / Grassy Surge
Stat Distribution: 100 / 95 / 90 / 95 / 70 / 80 (530 BST)
Movepool Additions: Leaf Storm, Calm Mind
Movepool Removals: High Horsepower
Justification: mixed boom is real. it can put out some hard hitting grassy glides and boombursts with nice coverage in ep, drain punch/superpower/focus blast, and knock off. or it can just go for only sd or only cm. former has to deal with intim qwilfish and latter has to deal with just being slow in general. both revenged by zangoose.

:ss/beedrill:
Name of the Pokemon: Beedrill
Role(s): Offensive Pivot, Physical Wallbreaker, Hazard Removal (Defog)
Type: Bug / Ground
Abilities: Swarm / Tough Claws
Stat Distribution: 85 / 90 / 70 / 65 / 80 / 115 (505 BST)
Movepool Additions: High Horsepower
Movepool Removals: Swords Dance, Toxic Spikes
Justification: fast with lotta tough claws boosted moves. not too much else to say. has serious problems vs solrock (unless it runs brick break) and flyings (though those probably don't appreciate losing their hdb).

:ss/unown-p:
Name: Unown-P
Type: Grass
Abilities: Parental Bond (H: Pastel Veil)
Stats: 75/75/130/75/130/95 (BST: 580)
Movepool Additions: Drum Beating, Aromatherapy, Horn Leech, Trop Kick, Energy Ball, Leaf Storm, Diamond Storm, Bulk Up, Drain Punch, Flame Charge, Swords Dance
Description: Drum Beating, Trop Kick, Diamond Storm, Flame Charge + Parental Bond are fun combos.

Name of the Pokemon: MissingNo.
Role(s): Offensive Pivot, Hazard Removal (Rapid Spin) Hazards (Stealth Rock), Mixed Attacker
Type:

Abilities: Technician
Stat Distribution: 60 / 115 / 70 / 100 / 60 / 100 (495 BST)
Movepool Additions: Stone Edge, Flip Turn, Stealth Rock, Rapid Spin, Shock Wave,
Movepool Removals: Thunder Wave
Justification: Did someone say... EdgeQuake..? Edgequake deals sufficient damage to most of the meta, being hard smacked by Solrock and Carracosta. While MissingNo. could pack a 3rd move, Double-Edge to deal with one of the two, this runs both at the cost of running 4 moves and no support, (Stone Edge/Earthquake/Flip Turn/Double-Edge), and dealing recoil damage. MissingNo suffers from 4MSS with a handy collection of tricks to rival what it needs to. Packing Stone Edge, Earthquake, Ice Beam, Tri-Attack, Psychic, and Technician-Boosted Bubble Beam, Flip Turn, Rapid Spin, and Shock Wave, as well as having to question whether it runs Swords Dance.

Name of the Pokemon: Sunflora
Role(s): Speed Control, Cleric (Heal Bell), Sticky Web Setter, Special Tank, Sun Setter
Type:

Abilities: Flash Fire / Rough Skin
Stat Distribution: 80 / 70 / 50 / 95 / 110 / 60 (465 BST)
Movepool Additions: Sticky Web, Heal Bell, Slack Off, Flamethrower
Justification: MEDIC!!! Sunflora shuts down these hectic Fire Types with it's handy ability, Slows down potential Sweepers with Sticky Webs, and can even work with the other Fire types to set up Sunny Day. Earth Power allows Sunflora to check come in and check Zangoose and Chandelure, while Heal Bell allows it to supplement Paralyzed Zangoose and Solgaleo. Unfortunately, it cannot do much to other walls, While Solrock and Carracosta get whopped by Energy Ball, Qwilfish and Komala laugh it off while Aegislash doesn't even care. Sticky Webs shuts down speedy stinkers like Solgaleo and Zangoose and allows its team to do the same.
