[SET COMMENTS]
Choice Specs Iron Valiant functions as a special wallbreaker thanks to its speed, power, and coverage moves. Psyshock hits Poison-types like Clodsire, Toxapex, and Amoonguss. Shadow Ball targets Gholdengo and Skeledirge, while Thunderbolt is used to hit Corviknight, as well as doing super effective damage to Toxapex, Tera Flying Gholdengo, and Tera Flying Kingambit. Trick is another option to cripple common switch-ins such as Clodsire, Skeledirge, Toxapex, and Volcarona. Focus Blast threatens an OHKO on Garganacl while greatly damaging Corviknight. However, Aura Sphere is another option that is more consistent thanks to its accuracy, though it misses out on the damage output of Focus Blast. Tera Fairy powers up Moonblast and removes Iron Valiant's weakness to Fairy-, Psychic-, and Flying-type attacks. Alternatively, Tera Ghost makes Iron Valiant immune to Dragonite's Extreme Speed, allows it to OHKO Gholdengo, and increases its damage output against Skeledirge. Tera Electric is a final option to OHKO Toxapex and physically defensive Corviknight and turn its Steel-type weakness into a resistance.
Physically offensive Pokemon such as Dragonite, Kingambit, and Cinderace benefit from Iron Valiant, as they struggle against Dondozo, Great Tusk, and Rotom-W, all of which Iron Valiant can pressure effectively.Entry hazard support from partners like Ting-Lu, Garganacl, and Garchomp provides chip damage against Pokemon that try to play around Iron Valiant such as Toxapex, Amoonguss, and Clodsire. Pivots such as Rotom-W, Dragapult, Cinderace, and Corviknight give Iron Valiant opportunities to get on the field, reducing the risk of it taking damage. Volcarona can counter Iron Valiant, as it is only 3HKOed by all of its attacks and can set up in front of it. Therefore, Toxapex is a great partner, as is specially defensive Garganacl, which can handle Will-O-Wisp Volcarona, and Dragonite, which can handle Giga Drain variants. Iron Valiant enjoys the presence of partners that it can rely on to take hits, such as Toxapex, Great Tusk, Ting-Lu, and Garganacl, due to its frailty. Keeping the field free from hazards grants Iron Valiant more chances to get on the field and make progress, so teammates with access to Rapid Spin or Defog such as Great Tusk, Iron Treads, and Corviknight are appreciated.
