Gholdengo is a decent option as a Choice Scarf user and revenge killer thanks to its great offensive and defensive typing. Focus Blast allows it to hit Kingambit, Dialga, and Choice Specs Chi-Yu, whereas Thunderbolt can be used instead for Palafin and Toxapex. Trick cripples opposing Pokemon like Magearna and Dialga, which could otherwise wall Gholdengo. As Choice Scarf Gholdengo is unable to run a damage-boosting item, it sometimes lacks in damage. Tera Steel makes up for this by allowing it to OHKO Mewtwo after Stealth Rock and OHKO Great Tusk; Tera Steel also removes its weaknesses to the Dark- and Ghost-type attacks that would otherwise force it out like Sucker Punch from Kingambit, Shadow Ball from Mewtwo, and Judgment from Arceus-Dark. Tera Fighting is used exclusively on Focus Blast sets to turn Gholdengo's Sucker Punch weakness into a resistance while also allowing it to OHKO Zamazenta-C and offensive Dialga. Gholdengo is one of the most reliable forms of entry hazard control in the tier, as its immunity to both Rapid Spin and Defog allows it to keep hazards up with ease. Therefore, hazard setters like Magearna, Skarmory, and Deoxys-S make for excellent partners. Primarily used as a revenge killer, Gholdengo is excellent at enabling other premier offensive cleaners like Zacian, Ogerpon-H, and Kingambit by punching through their potential checks like Clefable and Dondozo, while also crippling Giratina with Trick. Gholdengo struggles against teams that contain strong priority users like Palafin and Kingambit, so Pokemon that can take hits from them, like Arceus-Grass, Archaludon, Toxapex, and Palkia-O are desirable partners.

Gholdengo is sometimes used with a Choice Scarf on teams lacking in speed control. Its fantastic typing and great offensive stats allow it to outrun would be checks like Great Tusk and Landorus, and function as a potent revenge killer. (This two sentences should be combined together. Make it go along of something like "Gholdengo is a decent choice as a Choice Scarfer and revenge killer thanks to a great offensive and defensive typing, allowing it to target threats like x,y,z.) Focus Blast is used as a high damage coverage option to allow it to hit Kingambit, Dialga, and Choice Specs Chi-Yu, whereas Thunderbolt can be used instead to hit Palafin and Pelipper (Peli kind of sucks imo, mention something like Pex in its place instead.). Trick can be used to cripple opposing supportive Pokemon like Magearna, Dialga, and Solgaleo (You just Sball Solg / Switch out cause it has knock, mention something else.) who could otherwise wall Gholdengo. Tera Steel is used to power up Make It Rain as it is unable to run a damage boosting item and therefore sometimes lacks in damage (Maybe mention damage thresholds it can reach here like OHKOing Great Tusk and M2 after Stealth Rock?). It also removes its weakness from Dark- and Ghost-type attacks that would otherwise force it out like Sucker Punch from Kingambit, Shadow Ball from Mewtwo, and Judgement from Arceus-Dark. (Combine these two sentences together. Also, fighting should be mentioned here. The resistance to Sucker is pretty big and gives you rolls like OHKOing Zama-C and 2HKOing SpD Dialga. Mention how you should be running Focus Blast if you are Tera Fight though.) Gholdengo is one of the best entry hazard control Pokemon ever is one of the most reliable forms of hazard control in the tier, as its immunity to both Rapid Spin and Defog allow it to keep hazards up with ease., therefore Therefore, hazard setting Pokemon setters like Magearna, Skarmory and Deoxys-S make for excellent partners. Gholdengo is a decent choice as a Choice Scarfer and revenge killer thanks to a great offensive and defensive typing, allowing it to target threats like Great Tusk and Landorus it would otherwise have trouble removing. (its typing doesn't help against either of those, please pick some better examples and be more careful with the phrasing) Focus Blast is used as a coverage option to allow it to hit Kingambit, Dialga, and Choice Specs Chi-Yu, whereas Thunderbolt can be used instead to hit Palafin and Toxapex. Trick can be used to cripple opposing Pokemon like Magearna and Dialga, who could otherwise wall Gholdengo.
